Upon meeting Joan Lee, she told me she took the LIRR from Oceanside to Long Beach, then walked to an appointment blocks away from the train station, then walked back to catch the train back to Oceanside. She then walked from the train station to the Oceanside Library to take part in this podcast interview. This was impressive in and of itself. What’s more impressive and completely awe inspiring is the fact that Joan is legally blind and uses a guide dog to help navigate her way through each and every day. Listen to her story. It is truly inspiring.

Stan and Joan Lee's greatest fear in life was that their daughter J.C. would spend herself into poverty after their deaths. So, they established and irrevocable trust designed to dole out the money on a monthly budget, giving her enough to live a life of luxury but without the extravagant spending sprees she is known for. Her parents feared J.C. Lee would be vulnerable to vultures who swirled around her vying for Stan Lee's money. This episode reveals the struggle between father and daughter as she begged him to change the trust to give her a free flow of cash. We also look at how a sick Stan Lee was wheeled out in his last months to sign autographs for thousands of fans paying hundreds of dollars each.

It's a testament to the power and importance of Stan Lee, that even I, an absolute nobody making a movie podcast that no-one listens to, feels the need to pay tribute to him in some way. This is what I came up with. Joining me, as ever, is the Joan Lee to my Stan Lee, Tiffany B, who gamely suffers through my fanboying in silence, as is her role in these podcasts sometimes. Stan Lee, the God Father of Marvel Comics has passed away at the age of 95. No specific cause has been issued as of yet. Stan Lee did have some issues with pneumonia and other medical related problems. Stan Lee was very influential in my life and I wanted to say goodbye to an amazing person that impacted society in a positive way. Stan Lee lost his Wife, Joan Lee, due to a stroke. Losing Joan had a huge impact on Stan and unfortunately really left Stan without a solid foundation in his life. I was lucky enough to meet Stan Lee a couple of times and all I can say is it was truly amazing meeting him. What is your favorite memory of Stan Lee?
