Welcome to Databank Brawl Rewind! Databank Brawl was a series that ran on ForceCenter from 2016 to 2020 and it remains one of our more beloved shows. Though Databank Brawl is on hiatus, we wanted to celebrate it along with the longtime listeners of the podcast and reintroduce it to the ForceCenter listeners who began listening to the podcast after the end of the show's run. Though all of the episodes remain on our podcast feed it can be daunting to scroll back and find them, so we're launching Databank Rewind. Here's your chance to go back to those episodes week-by-week and laugh with us at old jokes, memorable moments, unforgettable guests, and, yeah, old microphones, recordings, and perhaps some Star Wars predictions that came true alongside many that most certainly did not. Databank Brawl -- where Star Wars characters are plucked from the entries of the StarWars.com databank and forced to fight it out in an off-the-cuff podcast moderated by Joseph Scrimshaw. It's time to fight...From the minds of Ken Napzok (comedian, host of The Napzok Files), Joseph Scrimshaw (comedian, writer, host of the Obsessed podcast), and Jennifer Landa (actress, YouTuber, crafter, contributor on StarWars.com) comes the ForceCenter Podcast Feed. The younglings are stranded on a swiftly tilting starship. They're able to get Obi-Wan on the SpaceTime(™), Obi-Wan is pretty sanguine about what happened considering Ahsoka was captured and Hondo can obviously track the ancient sentient database that the Jedi rely on to build lightsabers. Jocasta Nu senses a disturbance in the Force and starts brushing up on COBOL. Obi-Wan cautions the younglings against heroism, and it's a good thing Anakin isn't around because he'd have told them to stop talking and go get his Ahsoka back. Obi-Wan's task force is intercepted by a Separatist fleet and the younglings are on their own. The younglings have to land the ship so they choose to do it on Florum, and just coincidentally they can mount a rescue attempt for Ahsoka. They had to. My kids use the same logic on chasing toys down stairs. If I'm an expert, and I think that I am, this is going to end in tears and, let's say… R2 getting yelled at for being irresponsible.Back on the Negotiator, Obi-Wan proves he's at least smarter than Wilhuff Tarkin and calls to abandon ship. Back on Florum the younglings convince a traveling circus (because why not) to take them on as an acrobatic troupe for a performance for Hondo. With a certain sense of narrative whiplash we find that the Separatists have secured Obi-Wan's command cruiser. However we quickly find out that Obi-Wan's favorite captain is Janeway because he has already rigged the ship to self-destruct. Grievous beats feet, and makes certain to actively brutalize some droids on his way out because he has a code. Obi-Wan and Cody aren't coming to the younglings rescue anytime soon.Speaking of, a circus! Hondo big times the circus ringleader and I honestly am disappointed in him. Youngling shenanigans and acrobatics and Hondo ends up concussed and Ahsoka is free. Ahsoka says that doing the right thing sometimes means bending the rules, because the ends justify the means and I'm going to pretend that Ahsoka just stayed quiet on this one. The younglings are racing towards their starship, but Hondo's forces are in hot pursuit. They perform a bit of a Serenity-style barn swallow to get back on their ship. However, despite previous acrobatic prowess, they are unable to leap the 4 feet into the air to get on the ramp. As such, they are all captured.Dooku Spacetime's (™) in and tells Hondo that all your base are belong to us. Ahsoka convinces Hondo's crew to free them and work together to save Hondo in order to get to his hidden ships. The kids show off their lightsabers, but Katooni hasn't finished hers yet. With some encouraging words from… Hondo(?!?) she manages to finish it. The younglings and Hondo's crew flee, but a chase ensues. Katooni (on Hondo's speeder) gets separated from the rest of the Jedi-lings. Hondo is ready to leave the rest behind, but she convinces him to go save them. Grievous catches up to Ahsoka and the Jedi-lings and says “so many lightsabers to add to my collection,” just then., Hondo and Katooni show up on Slave1. Ahsoka keeps Grievous busy while the kids escape, and then escapes herself after they are onboard.Hondo and the Jedi-lings rendezvous with Kenobi and the Republic fleet. Hondo departs, but not before handing Obi-Wan a bill for his losses, and not before giving a parting nod of respect to Katooni. Huyang tells the kids he hasn't had an adventure like that since Master Yoda found his crystal - but that's a story for another day.https://twitter.com/ClosingCrawlhttps://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/closing-crawl/id1530133296https://www.closingcrawl.com/Merch at: https://bit.ly/spacetimetm

Something very important and hidden was tucked away in the Jedi Temple after Order 66 in Revenge of the Sith that no one knew about...until today. Jocasta Nu returns to retrieve her valuable item as she sneaks passed the Inquisitor and the Empire. It doesn't take long for Darth Vader and Palpatine to take notice of what's happening at the Temple, when Vader goes to track her down... Learn more about your ad choices. Darth Vader Comic Issue 7 brings us one step closer to Vader's mission of destroying all the remaining Jedi after Order 66. In today's issue, we are told about the Inquisitors and how Darth Vader trains them...learning from the Grand Inquisitor that Palpatine has created a list of survivors from Order 66. The MOST WANTED on the list...is Jocasta Nu, the librarian who told Obi-Wan Kenobi to essentially 'buzz off' when he was looking for a star system in the Jedi archives files. Could she be holding the ancient holocrons of the ancient Jedi and Sith? Could this lead to Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren's adventures throughout the Galaxy, finding all of the old ancient Jedi and Sith relics? Could this lead to Snoke or Rey? Only time will tell :) Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
In Master and Apprentice, we get to see the beautiful relationship between just that, master qui gon jinn and his apprentice obi-wan Kenobi develop through their missions and time together like father and son. In an excerpt from the novel, we however go further back in time, and see Qui-Gon on the very first day where he met his new master, Count Dooku. Dooku, standing what seemed like metres above the young boy, tested him by asking the young jinn on what he feared. Qui-Gon told him honestly that he feared not being good enough, he feared failure, and Dooku was very impressed with this response. He felt Qui-Gon had passed his test for the day. So he took him on a tour of the Jedi Temple, passing through the many rooms and gardens…he eventually took him to see Jocasta Nu and to the temple archives. Once there, he showed Qui-Gon the holocron section…explaining to him briefly what this or that one does…until young qui-gon was pulled towards one in particular. A golden one that looked unlike any of the others, old and ancient. He put his hand to the gold surface as he asked what's this one. . Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
You see, in the comics, Jocasta was still alive long after Order 66. She remained in the temple and protected the archives, namely, the restricted section. The very same archives that housed the dark saber for many years after the death of Tarre Vizsla. It was here that she found the grand inquisitor, as well as Vader himself. Now, Vader was after her because she possessed the data drive that had all the force sensitive children in the galaxy known to the Jedi and where to find them. This was the Jedi order's list of new force sensitives to recruit. They would find these children, and bring them back to the temple to be trained from infancy. This was very valuable to Palpatine and Vader for many reasons. 1 to complete Order 66. 2. To possibly be used for Palpatine's experiments with cloning force sensitives or harbouring their blood as he tried with Grogu in the Mandalorian and 3. For Palpatine to replace Vader with now that he isn't as strong as Anakin Skywalker would have been had he not lost to Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar. Vader apprehends Jocasta and if you want to see the full story in order of comics released, you can either buy the Marvel comics, or check out my coverage and explanation of them on the channel with sound fx, voice acting and music. Vader grabbed the data chip from her and saw all the names when plugging it into his ocular lenses. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P29v5GtoaXw&t=4s Jocasta Nu met her untimely demise at the hands of Vader aboard an LAAT gunship and then immediately crushed the data chip with all the names of force sensitives, locations, and birthdays. He wouldn't ever be replaced by the Emperor, and so he destroyed the chip and when Palpatine asked him if he found anything of value, he lied telling his master, no, nothing. The treachery amongst the Sith knows no bounds. Vader destroying this information might have done more harm than good. It would have been valuable to know the list of many future Jedi or Sith out there, but now we may never know. I believe it was Jocasta Nu who saved Grogu. He was heavily guarded, and maybe there were more younglings who were being guarded, but for now it looks like it was just him. I believe he was a special case in the sense that he was very rare. We've only seen 3 yoda species in Star Wars to date, yoda, yadel, and now Grogu. I believe Grogu was extremely powerful and may have been able to stop that wave of 501st troopers, allowing Jocasta to get him to safety behind a closed door or hidden wall. Either that, or, Grogu was already safe and he was watching what was happening on a giant security monitor where Jocasta had taken him. Jocasta was alive for several months after Revenge of the Sith, this gave her enough time to get Grogu off world, or to keep him with her under her watchful eye. What could have happened was, she wiped his memory when things got a bit dangerous. When the Empire began to take control of the Jedi temple and she saw the shock troopers coming in. Then when the grand inquisitor arrived and then Vader soon after, that could have been when she wiped Grogu's memory and then possibly shipped him off somewhere on auto pilot, or sadly left him at the temple where the Empire found him and brought him to Palpatine. I like to think she sent him off to someone and his journey and adventure surviving order 66 begins with that person, who eventually falls to the empire, maybe an inquisitor or Vader himself, and has his mind wiped then and there as he's captured. I'm very excited to discover more behind Grogu's experience with order 66 and his survival as well as his interactions and abilities during his time at the Jedi temple with yoda, Mace Windu, Dooku, qui-gon and more. Ever wonder if the baddest librarian in history could take down the most feared villain in the galaxy? Well, that question might not be as ridiculous as one might think. It nearly happened. But it takes a pretty special librarian. Jocasta Nu is probably the single most interesting librarian in history, historical or fiction. Prove me wrong. Special thanks to the raddest archivist around, Rob from Jedi Temple Archives Podcast @JTAPodcast for his hilarious voice acting. Hang loose, bro.

In episode 4 of Tales of the Jedi, Dooku deletes all information regarding Kamino in the archives, and walks out to see many people chattering. He asks Jedi master Jocasta Nu, the archive keeper, what the fuss is about. She says Qui-Gon has claimed to have encountered a Sith Lord, and that he always had quite the imagination, much like you, Dooku. Dooku glances around the room at the chattering members of the Jedi Temple and says a quality valued less and less in these great halls. This right here is literally the reason Dooku turned to the dark side. He saw that the Jedi didn't care anymore to think for themselves. This was the reason that Qui-Gon was not on the Jedi Council, despite being granted the rank of master. He had the tendency to act on his judgment, and to sway to the will of the force, rather than be dogmatic like the Jedi had become. For example, no other Jedi member would have manipulated the chance cube like he did in the bet to free Anakin as a slave from Watto. Every other Jedi would have left it to chance, but Qui-Gon took control of the situation and wouldn't have let this vergence in the force that was Anakin, be taken from him by the luck of a chance cube which was probably rigged by Watto anyway, let's be real. The Jedi Temple - a source of knowledge and power unlike any other in the galaxy... much like our guest host Rob LaBarre from The Jedi Temple Archives podcast! We are also honored to have Lacey Gilleran of The Resistance Broadcast answer our OT questions! Truly wonderful responses. She is an amazing Star Wars fan, and TRB is an inspiration for Pat & Charles. A must listen every week! The Jedi Temple Archives was the inspiration for our podcast, meant to introduce Star Wars fans new and old to the deeper mysteries of the Force (as well as current canon), and at its heart was Madam Jocasta Nu. Serving as the Chief Librarian of the Temple Archives at the time of the Jedi Purge, no other Jedi did as much as Jocasta Nu to preserve the knowledge of the Order for future generations to come and to deny it's greatest secrets to Darth Sidious. As Master Yoda once said, "A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense..." and Jocasta Nu was the guardian of that armory for the Jedi Order.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/join/jtapodcast)
Yep, it happened - Jedi librarian Jocasta Nu took on Darth Vader, and in a way, you could say she got the better of him. I'll explain what I mean, and what this has to do with Luke Skywalker getting help in restoring the Jedi Order, too. Punch it! ***I'm listener supported! Join us as we discuss arguably the most important character to never receive mention in a Star Wars film. As the Padawan of Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka's role in both the heights reached by Anakin during the Clone Wars, as well as how she ultimately factored into his fall to the Dark Side are discussed. The early portion of this week's show is entirely spoiler-free, so if you still plan to watch The Clone Wars movie and subsequent animated series none of those twists and turns will be ruined. For those that have either watched that series, or choose to continue on with us despite not having done so, we cover all the major events that encompass Ahsoka's life as a Jedi. We look forward to taking this journey with you!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/join/jtapodcast)

Welcome to the place where I get to let my geek flag fly and talk about all things geek. Basically a fuzzy guide to life, the universe, and everything but mostly geek stuff. Born?, Should wands be given to children?, Dementors eating souls as acceptable punishment, No such thing as privacy in the wizarding world, Fascist Wizard overlords, Different points of view, Levels of magic, and finishing with some insanely hard HP questions. As we prepare to see Solo in a couple weeks we share our closing thoughts and expectations, followed by a conversation on what is happening in Marvel's Vader series.
Aphra on a leash, Jocasta Nu loses her mind (I mean seriously, what was she thinking?!), The final cover for the Thrawn and Vader buddy cop adventure is released, and EA aims (completely on accident) to change the face of loot boxes and micro transactions for all of gaming! All this and Danny's adventure to Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in Atlanta, GA in this episode! SIDE NOTE: Ming-Na Wen should be in Star Wars. That is all. If you haven’t already please like and follow us on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter – @kesselrunweekly! May the Force be with you always and thank you for listening!
In the action-packed episode, we discuss what separates character like Anakin, Luke, Rey, and Kylo from other Force wielders. What makes them so powerful? Why are some characters Force users and some only Force sensitive? Where does hard work and perseverance come into play? To start the show we read a listener's email that may shed some light on where Darth Maul obtained his original Kyber crystal, and then we talk about the latest season of Star Wars Rebels. In our comics segment we talk about Vader #7 and the return of Jocasta Nu before diving into the latest The Last Jedi TV spot. Contact us! Griffin and David welcome another amazing guest this week, Chase Mitchell (The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon). Together, they discuss deleted scenes like: Anakin hanging out with Padmé’s father (who is some bum), Jocasta Nu may have had a fling with Count Doku and the Galactic Senate discussing the option to militarize or “the Binks bill.” Griffin also reads more fan fiction this time about Dexter’s diner (OK and maybe a erotic scene between Anakin and Padmé). Plus, the gang shares their final thoughts on the film. Is it another case solved? Did they reach any kind of conclusions? Is there some kind of huge revelation exposed in this episode? Listen and find out all these answers and more! Music by: Lee Rosevere “Cosmic Tingles”
It was a dark and stormy night on planet Kamino. Detective Kenobi was far far away from home. He wondered to himself in the rain: why did Sifo-Dyas place an order for a clone army 10 years ago? Why was a bounty hunter named Jango Fett chosen as the clone specimen? Who deleted Kamino from the archives? And then the film goes on to answer none of these questions. This week Griffin and David look at the Obi-Wan Kenobi space noir story line, including, meeting 50’s diner purveyor and forensics expert Dexter Jettster, Jedi librarian Jocasta Nu, and discuss at length the logistics of a planet that specializes in cloning.
David and Casey continue Episode II Month by profiling Jocasta Nu, the Chief Librarian of the Jedi Archives. Then they discuss the next story arc of the new season of 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars'.
