This episode of the podcast brings us Joseph Gordon of Johnson University.  He was visiting Saint Leo University to speak about Henri de Lubac and his use of scripture in resistance to the Nazis.  In this conversation with Steve Okey, Joseph will speak about his research on this aspect of de Lubac’s life and work, how the Catholic theologians de Lubac and Lonergan have shaped Gordon’s work as a theologian in the Churches of Christ tradition, and what a Lonerganian view of assessment and student learning outcomes might look like.  They also discuss Gordon’s love of snakes, which fits perfectly with living in Florida. Dr. Joseph K. Gordon is an Associate Professor of Theology at Johnson University in Kissimmee, FL.  He earned his PhD in Systematic Theology and Ethics from Marquette University, his MDiv from Lincoln Christian Seminary, and his BA from Johnson University.  He became an ordained minister in the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ in 2009.  His research focuses on systematic and biblical theology, including his forthcoming book Divine Scripture in Human Understanding: A Systematic Theology of the Christian Bible (University of Notre Dame Press).  He also has a book forthcoming on the theology of Bernard Lonergan, SJ, entitled Bernard Lonergan: A Primer for Understanding his Life and Work (Wipf and Stock). Bereits vor vielen Ausgaben beendeten wir die vierteilige Reihe welche einst mit Tim Burton seinen Anfang nahm und dann von Joel Schumacher beendet wurde. 2003 kam dann eine Neuauflage unter der Regie von Christopher Nolan. Drei Filme sollten es insgesamt sein die er vom dunklen Ritter drehen wollte. Die ersten beiden Teile haben wir in vergangenen Ausgaben schon besprochen. Nun ist es an der Zeit dass wir auch die Nolan-Reihe zuende bringen. Gesagt getan und so erhebt sich Christopher Nolans Version Batmans zum dritten und letzten mal und muss sich unseren pruefenden Blicken stellen. Apropos stellen. Da war doch was. Genau! Christoph wollte sich ja bei Jens fuer das Night-Light Quiz rund um die Zurueck in die Zukunft Trilogie revanchieren. Gesagt und getan. Zum zweiten mal also praesentieren wir euch Night Light, das Filme-Quiz zu unserer Show. Natuerlich geht es dabei um Batman. In dieser Ausgabe haben wir auch wieder Kino Aktuell mit dabei und sprechen unter anderem ueber den neuen und gleichzeitig letzten Tribute von Panem Film. Auch Maria Koschny, welche uns bereits zu Mockingjay Teil 1 Rede und Antwort stand, ist wieder als Gast mit dabei.

Today, we're sharing an HBO Directors Dialogue with Robert Zemeckis from the 50th NYFF in 2012. The director's new film, THE WALK, starring Joseph Gordon as Phillipe Petit, the high-wire walker who famously strung his wire between the Twin Towers for a death defying display in 1974, will world premiere on opening night of the festival on September 25. This interview from 2012 was in honor of the premiere of Zemeckis' last film, FLIGHT, which starred Denzel Washington as an alcoholic airline pilot. In addition to discussing that film, the wide-ranging discussion also touched on the director's experience in film school, his 80's blockbusters like BACK TO THE FUTURE and WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT?, and his ventures into CGI animation.
