The newfound success of brands like Pierre Laborde and the 'Bushwick Birkin' phenomenon of Telfar raises a crucial question: Are we unintentionally capping the profit potential of Black businesses by demanding they remain niche or exclusive? This episode breaks down the difference between a movement and a for-profit company, and the complexities of moving from 'cult favorite' to global market leader without losing cultural authenticity.--Support this podcast by leaving a 5 star rating and review!Join us over on Substack for newsletter accessJoin us over on YouTubeJoin us over on TikTok and Insta (@thoughtfulthreadspod)Support this small creative platform with a cup of coffee hereSay hi! hithoughtfulthreads@gmail.com

I was completely fascinated by this discussion with Rev. Lynn LaBorde, an esteemed spiritual teacher, channel, and alchemist with over 40 years of experience. We began with crazy technological interference. Many of you already know that certain technological issues can be a result of the frequency getting “too” high. Rev. Lynn had already mentioned there were numerous spirit beings present and excited, and the sounds I was hearing in my microphone were so unusual and extraordinary that it seemed likely what I was hearing was from them - which she confirmed when I shared that I couldn't hear her at all and explained what I WAS hearing. Despite those initial technical disruptions, the discussion explores profound spiritual insights, including a live channeling of Mary Magdalene. That channeling was deeply meaningful for me. Rev. Lynn also shares her journey from early fascination with Edgar Cayce to her current work empowering individuals to embrace their intuitive gifts. The episode also highlights the unique messages from divine beings and the transformative impact of the Akashic records. We also talk about the Goddess Zone, intuition, and the significance of love as a universal force. Tune in for an enlightening exploration of spiritual elevation and self-discovery. G.T. LaBorde, CEO and Co-Founder of IllumiCare, focuses on reducing hospital clinical waste. Doctors often make decisions about tests, medications, and procedures without knowing the actual cost to the hospital and the patient. The IllumiCare platform aims to nudge doctors to make cost-effective decisions without compromising the quality of patient care by providing cost information and clinical guidance at the point of care. Another benefit is the reduction in overtesting and overprescribing, supporting efforts to improve patient safety.. G.T. explains, "When doctors make decisions about what test to order and what medications to prescribe, particularly in the inpatient setting, they have no idea what the cost is. They don't know the relative cost of one drug or another, and it's not a knock on doctors. It's very difficult to know because there are, in our average hospital across hundreds of hospitals, something like 2,000 different medications on the formulary that are available to order if you're a provider." "We self-impose a limit, on average, taking only 60 seconds of a provider's attention a day. We calculate when we nudge somebody, when we present something in their workflow, how much time is it on the screen? And it comes down to 60 seconds a day of attention that we take. So we take great pride in how much technology we use to figure out when not to say something or not. We try to figure out the person most likely to take action, and is this information germane to this person for this patient, such that there's a high probability they'll take action? And we measure how frequently people take the action we recommend, and it's several times higher than similar alerts within the electronic medical record." #IllumiCare #ValueBasedCare #VBC #HealthcareInnovation #ClinicalDecisionSupport #HealthIT #HospitalIT #EHR illumicare.com Download the transcript here
