SaaStr 749: The Lost Podcast Aaron Levie, CEO of Box, and Jason Lemkin, CEO of SaaStr, in 2013: "Thinking About $1 Billion in ARR" Hey, everybody at SaaStr, we didn't realize until a Twitter exchange the other day that we have a lost SaaStr podcast for real. Just when SaaStr was getting going in January 2013, SaaStr CEO and Founder Jason Lemkin went out and went to Box's offices and interviewed Aaron Levie CEO and Co-founder of Box. This was over a decade ago now and it was lost. We recorded it but didn't know what to do with it. And the audio quality was pretty bad, but we used AI to clean it up and we thought this would be really fun to listen to at a formative time. Back then, Box had just crossed 400 employees. It was no longer a startup. And we talked about going enterprise. We talked about squinting on the horizon and seeing the $1B ARR which box has since passed, and what it might be like to go bigger. It's a moment in time but you can listen to a different side, maybe even a more lighthearted side before things get really hard after the IPO. It is harder after you go public. But this was just before that. It's the lost SaaStr podcast. The earliest days of Box with Aaron Levie and Jason Lemkin together. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SaaStr hosts the largest SaaS community events on the planet. Everyone loved this scary/thrilling adventure movie as a kid. However, after a modern-day rewatch, we have a lot questions. Does Matt Frewer outshine Rick Moranis? Why is there a destructive laser sitting unprotected in Ray's attic? Is the ant scene still one of the most heartbreaking death scenes in movie history? What would have happened if they never got rescued? Why did Ray think that pitching this idea to the scientists was actually a good idea? •0:00:00 - Introductions •0:03:15 - Memories of first viewing •0:07:30- Pertinent movie details •0:12:15 - Critical and fan reviews •0:21:30 - Scene by scene breakdown •1:29:15 - Modern day ratings —————————————————————— SPONSORS: **Shopify- Sign up for a $1/month trial period at http://shopify.com/confused **Raiders of the Lost Podcast- http://raidersofthelostpodcast.com —————————————————————— **Support us at http://patreon.com/confusedbreakfast like these fine people- Robin Fawcett, Dane, Joel, Nick Merulla, Mark Prior, Keerlana, Elisha, Camden Griffith, Cameron Jay, Bud Larsen, Katie Beeks, Mr. and Mrs. Roommate, Cale James, Jason Davis, Shaun Dixon, Emilio Perez, Skyler Brunssen, Jordan Hooten, Brynna Misener, Willie Cox III, Jenel Lewis, Joe Thomas, Chris DeAro, Marshall G, Mitch Cavanaugh, Josh Miller, Condumb, Jason Botsford, Chris Prior, Jason Hahn, Travis Scanlan, Gary McCarthy, Corey Vaughn, Ranger Rick and Suebaloo, Damien Zemek, Revis, Jeni Wilson, Tim Nash, Mike Zachar, Robert Vens, Joey Piemonte, David Waters, Allen Cross, negaduck, ZerophoniK, Ryan O, David Gould, Seth Murray, Leeloo Dallas Multipass, Lance Davis, Dale Prystupa, Derek Foreal, Mike Wheeler, Mike Oxhard, Gerret Layoff, Aaron Baker, Ryan Grabski, Michael Nash, Adam Bathon, Ryan Weaver, Quinton Moore, Zach Evans, Justin Wooley, Todd Fatjo, Jared Bushman, Melinda Miller, Luke Bittues, SHADOWxViking, Rachel Heintz, Bailey Rome, Merkie, Tyler Darke, John Miller, Caleb Kampsen, Dean Roan, Austin Hartman, Jason Ruby Rod Rodgers, Chris M, Cody Kirker, Chris Kleman, Starling, Tanner Gray, David Amodei, Matthew Rosendahl, Jon Martinez, Jackson M, Spaceballs the Username, Erin, Richard Harding, Brandon Anderson, Bryant Wayland, Jacob Stahl, Alex Navarro, Richard Burciaga, Peter Fitz, Jay Bender, Steve Bland, Andy M, Matt Cruz, Terry Pyatt, Kyle Donnelly, Kyle Eberle, Jose Leusch, Robert Ross, Steve Primm, Lee Rash, Michael May, Trent Crutcher, Austin Pellazari, Father Peña, Domin Brown, Travis Ferris, Mr. and Mrs. Beers, Midnight Rider, Todd Zeutenhorst, Mindy Zellis, Damien Zemek, Mitchell Lundy, Aaron George, Zachary Schild, Matt Wendt, Mo Muzach, Diggity Dave, Grant Trickel, Anthony Fenstra, Nick Bryant, Ross Eickhoff, Grady Not Brady, Rickey Simpson Jr, Joshua Johnson, Morgan Babic, Jeremy Farnell, Eric Graham, Lew Gilly, Michael Giuliano, Johnny Wood, Brother Nick, Aaron Vandergriff, Christopher Valis, John, Joseph, Chad Miracle, RastaLion, Nicholas Blackwell, Chris Colell, Nicholas Blackwell, Tony Read, Devin Carlisle, Benjamin Dugger, Jonathon, Ethan Hopkins, CJ Hellmann, Evan Buscher, Chris, Taylor Roberts, Wes Clark, Sean Okusko, Jason Hagen, Sean D Green, Chris M, Melanie Johnson, Steve Jones, Beej, Alex Navarro, Child of the Watch 73, Adam Hoy, Matt Rowell, Ryan, Nate, Bobby Oberschlake, Lee Rash, Mr. Rivers, WokeMorty, Josh White, Bryan Hernandez, Ryan Holder, Peter High, Andrew Castillo, Jameson McKenna, Jeff Jewell, Laura, Rory, The Digital David, Nick James, Canned Sandwich, Glizzy Borden, Midnight Rider, Coby Iatham, Katelyn Heasley, John Sanders, Erik Kenneth John, Birdman, Anthony Marier, Jim Nanni, Kinzer Keel, Brandon Anderson, Dee Conner, Daniel J Chamberlin, Stephen Joyce, Luke Brady, Joshua Pollock, Drew Rodriquez, Mrkennedys, Kinzer Keel, Kaylan Miles, Cory M Handy, Brad Laurie, Chuck, Benji Walton, Dark Avenger, Walter, Ryan O, Steven Andrew Gibson, Scott, Chris Corson and John Medlock Learn more about your ad choices. We dig into Desmond's sideways life, in which he works for Charles Widmore and believes he has it all — until Charlie wakes him up, of course — and how it might change the way we understand the light at the heart of the Island. And Henry Ian Cusick returns to tell us about filming some of our favorite scenes. Find us on Twitter @TheHatchPodcast and at Facebook.com/TheHatchPodcast. Leave us your hot take at +1 954-6-DHARMA. Sawyer has come a long way since Season 1, even if he's not yet the (mostly) thoughtful man we see in this week's (delicious) flash sideways. We compare his double-crossing ways to Ben Linus — and continue our conversation with the actor who brought Ben to life, Michael Emerson. We talk "Dr. Linus" with Benjamin Linus himself, the great Michael Emerson. He tells us why he thinks Ben was a good-hearted person deep down all along, and why power was never right for him. We lament the corrupting influence of the Island — or maybe just Jacob. Find us on Twitter @TheHatchPodcast and at Facebook.com/TheHatchPodcast. Leave us your hot take at +1 954-6-DHARMA. Director Bobby Roth walks us through Sundown, from the Sayid-Dogen fight sequence to the crowded final scene. Sayid is still in love with Nadia in the flash sideways and it breaks our hearts. And yes, the Darkness has taken Sayid, but — and hear us out — what if the Darkness was inside us all along? Find us on Twitter @TheHatchPodcast and at Facebook.com/TheHatchPodcast. Here's a special preview of Not Lost, a new podcast about finding yourself in places you've never been from our friends at Pushkin Industries! Host Brendan Francis Newnam takes us around the world, learning about new places by getting invited to a stranger's house for dinner. From Montréal to Mexico City, Brendan and his guests drink, dance, and eat, learning as much about themselves as the places they visit. In this preview, Brendan and his friend Danielle Hendersen head to the Big Easy and discover that it's anything but. Carousel bars, gospel choirs, voodoo readings, and a visit to a slavery memorial plunge the duo into conversations about the good life with local luminaries like jazz-great Kermit Ruffins, voodoo priestess Madame Cinnamon, and a chef who dreams about gumbo.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Maybe this should have been a Sawyer episode? And what if Sayid had actually *chosen* the dark side, instead of getting infected?
