Don't worry! David Waldman and Greg Dworkin will be back next week! But what do you care? You'll have brand-new KITMs, five of them, to listen to until their return! But first: Correspondent Terry Moran posted that Trump was a world-class hater without first taking into consideration what world-class haters do, and what his world-class coward employers would do about it. Stephen Miller is working to make America great for Nick Fuentes. He's Goebbels without a master race, Nosferatu without the sentimentality. People don't like that. Ok, lots of people do like to see people get their skulls cracked on TV, but “them” are beginning to look a little too much like “they” lately for their comfort. Trump's “Butthurt Mussolini” persona is becoming less fun and too real. Tin soldiers are coming, and we don't even have Nixon's sense of morality, or Westmoreland's propriety this time. We're finally on our own… This summer you'll hear the drumming... Except at the New York Times, where they beautifully habituate. Pope Leo will be presenting the opposing viewpoint to Trump at Rate Field in Chicago on June 14. She-Wolf of the DOJ, Pam Bondi's big brother Brad Bondi works to rationalize his 82-point election loss. Trump has discovered the Lost Cause and promised to return it to military bases in the South. It might be a slow boring topic, but the threat is real from right-NIMBYs opposing the Abundance Agenda. Then there's Oklahoma's HD 71 special election, where the debate centers around professional experience.
Alles in Braun.

Last week, billionaire internet troll Elon Musk made headlines (including several at this publication) for making what appeared to be a Nazi salute at the inauguration of Donald Trump. When, in the following days, he was accused of being a Nazi by many people and organizations, he responded with a series of Nazi puns in a tweet, a la, "Some people will Goebbels anything down!" The post was noteworthy because it was unclear where Musk stood on the topic of Nazism, surprising as that is to say. Once, in the not-so-distant past, people could reasonably assume that anyone making jokes about Nazis were making fun of Nazis—not Nazis themselves. But with the rise of online troll culture and a widespread disregard for historic events-turned-memes, it's no longer obvious that the person making the Nazi salute is anti-Nazi. On this week's Bonjour Chai, hosts Avi Finegold and Phoebe Maltz Bovy are joined by The CJN's director of podcasts, Michael Fraiman, who once wrote a column on Jewish comedy for The CJN, and has many thoughts about the evolution of online, right-wing, male-dominated troll humour. “Hitler has only got one ball / Goebbels has two but very small”, aducía el popular cántico militar.

Richard Evans, author of the acclaimed The Third Reich Trilogy and over two dozen other volumes on modern Europe, is our preeminent scholar of Nazi Germany. Having spent half a century searching for the truths behind one of the most horrifying episodes in human history, in Hitler's People: The Faces of the Third Reich (Penguin Press, 2024), he brings us back to the original site of the Nazi movement: namely, the lives of its most important members. Working in concentric circles out from Hitler and his closest allies, Evans forms a typological framework of Germany society under Nazi rule from the top down. With a novelist's eye for detail, Evans explains the Third Reich through the personal failings and professional ambitions of its members, from its most notorious deputies--like Goebbels, the regime's propagandist, and Himmler, the Holocaust's chief architect--to the crucial enforcers and instruments of the Nazi agenda that history has largely forgotten--like the schoolteacher Julius Streicher and the actress Leni Riefenstahl. Drawing on a wealth of recently unearthed historical sources, Hitler's People lays bare the inner and outer lives of the characters whose choices led to the deaths of millions. Nearly a century after Hitler's rise, the leading nations of the West are once again being torn apart by a will to power. By telling the stories of these infamous lives as human lives, Evans asks us to grapple with the complicated nature of complicity, showing us that the distinctions between individual and collective responsibility--and even between pathological evil and rational choice--are never easily drawn.
While Israel is at war with the Iranian axis, including Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis, the Biden administration insists that a peaceful Middle East requires Israel to engage with a reformed Palestinian Authority. But how different is the PA from other terrorist organizations? Is there a realistic chance that it can serve as a viable peace partner, or is this nothing but extreme wishful thinking? Why does Prime Minister Netanyahu distrust the PA, and are his concerns based in fact? Palestinian Media Watch Founder and Director Itamar Marcus, whom the Algemeiner Journal called one of the "top 100 people positively influencing Jewish life or the State of Israel" (and who was called "the Goebbels of the 21st Century" by PA legislator Jibril Rajoub), joins Pesach and Doug to answer questions about the real character of the Palestinian Authority, and what is needed to ensure a peaceful future for Jews and Palestinians alike.
SERIES 3 EPISODE 58: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN As Kamala Harris's lead among Hispanic voters nearly triples in less than a month, one of Trump's preliminary speakers at his Nazi Rally at Madison Square Garden attacks them. “These Latinos, they love making babies, too" says somebody named Hinchcliffe.“There's no pulling out. They don't do that. They come inside, just like they did to our country.” If a crass attack against 12% of the nation's likely voters would not cause enough damage to Trump in the final week, Hinchcliffe then added "There's literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it's called Puerto Rico." As even Florida Republican Senator Rick Scott attacks the remarks, a Trump flunky tries to distance itself from the extraordinary attacks saying they don't represent the campaign. At the same time, Donald Trump Jr re-posted video of the remarks. There is a day in each failed presidential candidacy where the losing candidate woke up with his chances of BECOMING president still intact, but went to bed with them irrevocably destroyed. I think for Trump that day was yesterday. The viability of his candidacy has largely depended on his growing support among Latinos. 450,000 residents of Pennsylvania self-identify as Puerto Rican – 127,114 of them in PhILLY and 33,531 in Allentown. 100,000 residents of North Carolina do so. 65-thousand in Wisconsin. 50,000 Michiganders. To say nothing of a million Floridians and a quarter million Texans. EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT HISPANIC THERE WAS PLENTY OF HATE TO GO AROUND: Stephen Miller echoes Goebbels. Elon Musk, Dr. Phil, Hulk Hogan and Tucker Carlson beclown themselves. just as the German-American Bund discovered in 1939 when they paraded the swastika into the old Madison Square Garden, there is something about parading Trump's backed-up sewer of hateful has-beens into the heart of bright blue New York City to scream their filth. Somehow the context, the location, underscores that they not only believe this, they not only see a future only for white people and others who have been approved BY white people, they not only think they are a majority, they not only think Trump is beloved, they not only think the tens of millions of us who repudiate their bestiality and their hatred and their racism are somehow just PRETENDING to repudiate these things but most of all, WORST of al these scumbags think they're going to get away with it. And against a fresh background, we are reminded what shame they have brought to us. Meanwhile the interior numbers for Harris continue to explode. In the ABC poll, likely African-American voters are now hers… NINETY to seven. The CBS poll has her up by 1 despite something curious in the very first interior number. She leads among women by 12 points. He only leads among men by nine. If that difference is correct, she wins.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
