The Distinction The Relationship The FutureThis Week's Growth GuideGod's Word is both central and critical to your spiritual growth. We invite you to utilize the Growth Guide during the week to further your application of the Truth from the message.•. Monday - Matthew 5:13-16•. Tuesday - Matthew 22:15-22•. Wednesday - Romans 13:1-7•. Thursday - 1 Timothy 2:1-4•. Friday - Philippians 3:20-21Home Church Questions1. Have someone read Matthew 22:15-22. The goal of the two groups was to trap Jesus. Why would this question about paying taxes potentially be a trap?2. What is the meaning of Jesus' answer to their question. Why does He answer this way?3. This passage suggests a distinction between the Roman government and God. It was mentioned in the sermon that some governments have not recognized a distinction between the church and government. What are some of the negative consequences that can occur when there is no distinction between these two spheres? For example, why would it be a problem if the state tried to force someone to convert to a particular religion?4. In an ideal situation, what should Christians expect of government? What is the responsibility of the government to the church?5. While the government has responsibilities to the church, we have responsibilities to the state. First, we are supposed to be salt and light (have someone read Matthew 5:13-16). Why is it important that we are being transformed by the Gospel and becoming more like Christ in order to have an impact as salt and light wherever we live? What are some ways you are representing Christ to the people in your neighborhood, your workplace, your school, your team?6. Second, we also have certain responsibilities to obey the government God has placed over us (see 1 Tim 2:1-3 and Romans 13:1-6). Why is it important for Christians to be diligent to obey the laws?7. Third, we live under a government in which we can have an influence on policies and laws. What are some ways we can have an influence and why should we try to have an influence?8. Philippians 3:20-21 reminds us our ultimate citizenship is in heaven. If we truly believe this, how should this impact how we live as citizens in Conway? Mission Highlight - Pray for the Unreached: The Northern Uzbek in Uzbekistan Uzbekistan has a population of 27.5 million, with Islam as the main religion and Uzbek as the primary language. Christians make up less than 0.1% of the population. While the complete Bible is available in both written and oral form, no movement of the gospel has been reported. An estimated 550 workers are needed, with a ratio of 1 worker per 50,000 people. Focus Prayer on sending long-term laborers to the Uzbeks, fostering religious freedom, and spreading the Good News through strong local disciple-making households. The goal is for Uzbek families to embrace Jesus and build movements of faith across the country.FinancesWeekly Budget 35,297Giving For 10/20 35,240Giving For 10/27 14,135YTD Budget 600,052Giving 511,958 OVER/(UNDER) (88,094)Fellowship 101We invite you to join us next Sunday, November 10, at 9:00 a.m. to learn more about Fellowship. Thursday - Matthew 22•. Friday - Matthew 25•. Saturday - Matthew 20:1-16 (Sermon text for Sunday) Home Church Questions 1. The first type of soil is the hard soil (Matt 13:4). According to Matt 13:19, explain who this type of soil represents. Who were the people who responded to Jesus' teaching in this way (see Matt 12)? 2. Have you ever been like the hard soil or do you know someone who is like this (unwilling to listen)? How should we respond to someone who is like the hard soil?3. The second type of soil is the rocky soil (13:5). According to Matt 13:20-21, explain who this type of soil represents. Some people see the phrase “fall away” in v.21 and assume this means someone can lose his/her salvation. What are other passages in the Bible that help us know we should not interpret this parable in this way?4. When a person trusts in Christ, we want to encourage that person and talk about security in Christ. We also learn from this parable we should not encourage a superficial decision. What does a healthy approach look like with these two concerns in mind?5. The third type of soil is the unfruitful soil (13:7). According to Matt 13:22, explain who this type of soil represents. What are some ways we can be confident we are not like this type of soil?6. The fourth type of soil is the fruitful soil (13:8). According to Matt 13:23, explain who this type of soil represents. What are some ways we should be producing? What is the fruit in our lives we should expect if we are like the good soil?7. The main point of the parable is not merely that we should produce and bear fruit (though this is a truth we see). The main emphasis is on hearing (we see the word “hear” 15 times in Matt 13:1-23). Why is it important that we emphasize hearing as we consider this parable? Mission Highlight - Pray for the Unreached: The Rajput People of India (0.1% Christian) The name Rajput means "son of a ruler," and signifies the noble status of these people. Many Rajputs are landowners, forming a dominant community in northern and western India. The Rajputs are mobile, with many migrating to new areas over time. Ministry obstacles include fear that Christianity may alienate individuals from their families and traditions, making them hesitant to embrace the Gospel. Prayer is needed for Rajput believers to effectively engage their families, and for a family-based Bible study movement that leads entire communities to experience God's blessings.FinancesWeekly Budget 35,297Giving For 09/08 39,043Giving For 09/15 21,163YTD Budget 388,269Giving 344,455 OVER/(UNDER) (43,814) Equipping classesThe Equipping Ministry exists to equip and release our church body to deepen their understanding and experience of God & His word, develop genuine, Spirit-led living, and consistently invest in making disciples. TALK WITH A FRIEND Grab a friend and discuss what you learned this weekend with them. 1. What does Jesus show us about how His followers should exercise their power and authority? What does this look like in everyday life? 2. Why does the Crucifixion bring you hope? How does it change what it means to be “righteous?” 3. Why does Jesus' resurrection turn the world upside down? SEND IT Put what you are learning into action! What have you learned that you need to put into practice this week? TIME WITH GOD Our message this weekend covered some important ground in Scripture. Take time each day this week to dig into God's word and allow it to impact your life. Monday: Matthew 21, Matthew 26 Tuesday: John 12-13 Wednesday: John 18-19 Thursday: John 20-21 Friday: Matthew 28, Acts 1:1-11 If you're new to reading Scripture on your own, you can use the SOAP method: 1. Start with S-Scripture: read the passage. 2. Move on to O-Observation: what is interesting? What is confusing? What does this passage reveal about the world, God, and people (including yourself)? 3. Spend some time in A-Application: what do you sense you might need to do or change in response to what you have read? 4. Close your time with God in P-Prayer: talk to Him about your life, the day ahead, and what you are learning. == Sermon Series: CliffsNotes | Week 6 Speaker: Pastor Cody Surratt Date: June 16th, 2024

Many things happened to Jesus on Monday of Holy Week, but something that always catches my eye is His cursing of the fig tree. Why did He do that? What did that poor fig tree have to do with any of this? We look at what happens in this moment, and in His teaching, we see something very important, something that can show us about our faith and the fruits we bear. Join us for our daily reflections with Andy. In 10 short minutes, he'll dig a little deeper into Scripture and help you better understand God's Word.If you'd like to receive this daily reflection on your phone, text @39110 to 81010 to sign up. What motivations does Jesus provide in this passage to help you overcome your fear?• Jesus's third message describes you as “blessed” (13:16). Read Matthew 13:23. Being blessed as “good soil” how can you till the soil of your life to increase your “fruit” (bible intake, prayer life, ministry, witness, etc.)?• The parable Jesus told in his fourth sermon relates you as servant of the king (18:23). Is there now a need to forgive someone?• In message #5, Jesus looks to the future relating not only the signs of his coming, but also how we should live in the meantime. Read Matthew 25:14-30. It assumes a knowledge of Jewish background, history, and customs. - Matthew presents Jesus as King of the Jews and Savior of the world. The structure of the book sets forth Jesus as a “New Moses” who delivers a “New Torah” in five key Messages.• What should we believe? - Jesus is the fulfillment and culmination of the Old Testament. - Jesus is both the Savior of the world who came to redeem and King of the Jews who will return to reign. - Jesus left us with a purpose to represent Him in the world and make disciples of all nations.• How should we behave? - Embracing the gracious salvation that comes through the King of the Jews death and resurrection. - Fulfilling the Great Commission that our Savior King gave us to make disciples.Next Steps • Accept the salvation that came through the death and resurrection of Jesus.• Take an active step to begin living a “Great Commission Lifestyle” by seeing your purpose as a child of the King who consistently point people to Him with your witness (life, testimony, and clear presentation of the gospel). This Week's Growth GuideGod's Word is both central and critical to your spiritual growth. God expects us to live a certain way (5–7), to be mission-driven (10), to be kingdom-centered (13), to relate to one another with humility and forgiveness (18), and to be faithful as we wait for Jesus to return (24–25). To send each gospel opportunity (box) it costs $20 for items, transportation, and the tools needed to share the hope found in Christ with a child. Please consider giving above and beyond your regular giving to the worthy cause of getting the gospel to sensitive areas that are difficult to reach. You can use the envelope in a seat near you or give online by selecting “Christmas Offering” from the options. CommunityThe Christian faith was designed to be lived out in community. Spiritual growth happens as believers come together to read Scripture, pray, and serve alongside one another. Fellowship desires everyone to find that community, and the primary way this is achieved is through our small group ministry called Home Church. A Home Church is comprised of 12-16 people who gather weekly and discuss how to apply the word of God to their lives. Plan now to prioritize one evening a week (typically Sunday or Wednesday evening) to join others in community to encourage, sharpen, and spur one another on in faith. You will be glad you did! Sign-ups begin the first of August. Automate the ImportantSummer travel is here, and routines will be changed. Plan now to ensure your giving continues throughout the summer, even when you are away. Would you consider setting up recurring giving for the next few months to enable Fellowship to continue to have the resources needed to carry out its mission? Go to fellowshipconway.org/give and click on “Automate the Important” to get started. Nine Months That Will Change Your Life - DownlineApply now for next year's Downline class that starts on August 29th. The program equips individuals to know God's Word and make disciples where God has strategically placed you around the city. Space and time are limited, so visit DownlineConway.com for more information and to submit your application. Questions? Contact Chris Kear at chris@downlineconway.com.PrayerFellowship places a high value on prayer. After the message, members of our prayer team will be under “Hope” and “Love” for anyone who would like to be prayed for this morning. A team member will walk into the hall with you to pray with you. Thank you for letting us engage the Lord together in prayer. Stay connectedFellowship sends a weekly email on Thursdays with upcoming events, information, the Sunday songlist, and more. If you are not receiving this email, but want to stay connected, fill out a connection card and drop it in the offering baskets by the doors. Perspectives Conway | Begins January 20 | 6:00-9:00 PMGod has a “world-sized” role for every Christian in His global purpose. Whether people go to distant countries or stay at home is a secondary issue. The primary issue is what most people are hungry to discover: a vision to live a life of purpose—finding that vision makes this course valuable and perhaps crucial for any Christian. Perspectives is a discipleship course that takes you through the Bible, back in time, and across the globe. Pastors, theologians, missiologists, and mobilizers challenge and inspire as they help bring the course content to life through their personal experience and expertise. You will join a community of believers as you journey together to understand better who God is, what He is doing, and your role within that. Perspectives will encourage and challenge you to live on purpose, with purpose. For more information, contact Ryan Howell at centralarperspectives@gmail.com.
On today's episode, Mike and Wendy discuss the strange disappearance of Matthew Reilly. The last sighting of Matthew was in 1999. Friends - we are still calling on God for a miracle for my dear friend Stephany. Do not cease in prayer. Please pray for peace and comfort and she fights this battle and this pain. Pray for God to fill Steph's spirit and let His presence be felt by her. Thank you so much. https://gofund.me/b3b17652 I encourage you to read Matthew 6:25-34 this week, where part of our meditation comes from. The point of this passage is that God wants to provide all of our needs, He wants us to rely on Him but we still have unbelief and lack of trust, we are still trying to rely on ourselves. Stop running, turn around and give it all to God. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:33-34

It's Monday. Are you ready to start the workweek? Begin by focusing on your life as a child of God. Follow this pattern for Monday: Matthew 6:31-33. Content Bite: Whenever you read or listen to God's Word, it always helps to pay attention to the verbs. Who is doing what. ----Thank you for taking the time to listen to God's word. --- ***Please share this opportunity with your friends and family.***
Moms I feel you and we have been through a lot these past months. Remember "faith small as a mustard see can move mountains" Matthew 17:20
It's Monday. Are you ready to start the workweek? Begin by focusing on your life as a child of God. Follow this pattern for Monday: Matthew 6:19-21. Content Bite: C.S. Lewis once wrote, “Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, is of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.” ----Thank you for taking the time to listen to God's word. --- ***Please share this opportunity with your friends and family.***
It's Monday. Are you ready to start the workweek? Begin by focusing on your life as a child of God. Follow this pattern for Monday: Matthew 19:13-15. Content Bite: In first-century Palestine, children had no standing and no present value in society. Only in the potential they held in the future, were children seen to have worth. In the midst of this culture, we see Jesus not only see children, but call them to him, bless them, and tell his disciples to be like them to inherit the kingdom. That is profound. That is backwards.
It's Monday. Are you ready to start the workweek? Begin by focusing on your life as child of God. Follow this pattern for Monday: Matthew 5:43-45 In Galatians 3, the apostle Paul writes that in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God through faith. Son. Daughter. It is who you are. And as a son or daughter of the Heavenly Father, you take on his characteristics. You love your enemies. You pray for those who persecute you. You bless those who don't deserve it. It's who you are because it's who your Father is.
It's Monday. Are you ready to start the workweek? Begin by focusing on your life as child of God. Follow this pattern for Monday: Matthew 5:3-6 “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.” What are ways you can “bring out the best?” Be holy seasoning that blesses the world around you. Preservative: It keeps food from going bad. Seasoning: It gives food flavor. When we are salt, people “taste” God. They get a flavor for who he is. When we are light, people see God. His character is revealed in us.
It's Monday. Are you ready to start the workweek? Begin by focusing on your life as child of God. Follow this pattern for Monday: Matthew 5:3-6 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. His words seem backwards compared to the world around us. Think about other virtues and values of our American culture. What else about the Kingdom of God is backwards by comparison? Jesus has a way of saying what no one else is saying and doing what no one else does. Thank God for his backwards grace, his love for sinners, his life for ours.
