In this episode, Certified Bates Method Teacher, Nathan Oxenfeld talks to his first two graduates of his Natural Vision Teacher Training Program, June Milich and Nalini Ramji, about a couple of key concepts that have helped them personally improve their own vision naturally and have started to help others as well. First, Nathan explains a little bit about the teacher training process and how it came about in 2020 and 2021, which led to the launch of the Beta version of his teacher training program in 2022. Then you'll hear from June about the best way to approach your vision improvement practices, and how important it is to tune into your feelings throughout the process. She even guides you through an experiential practice with swinging and feeling the results of the relaxation. To finish, you'll hear from Nalini about the concept of "kind eyes", and how to benefit from both imagining being looked at with kind eyes, and to practice looking at the world with kind eyes. On this episode of Integrative Cancer Solutions we have an insightful discussion between Dr. Karlfeldt and Dr. Nalini Chilkov about integrative approaches to cancer care. Dr. Chilkov emphasizes the importance of patients taking an active role in their treatment by building a comprehensive health team alongside their oncology team. This team should include professionals knowledgeable about nutrition, acupuncture, and other supportive therapies to address the whole person, not just the disease. Dr. Chilkov provides practical advice for cancer patients, stressing that cancer is a chronic illness rather than an emergency, allowing time for patients to make informed decisions. She recommends a plant-strong diet rich in protein, fiber, and healthy fats, while cautioning against vegan diets and excessive red meat consumption. The discussion also covers strategies for managing common side effects of cancer treatments, such as using ginger oil capsules for nausea and bone broth for digestive tract repair. The importance of exercise and social support during cancer treatment is highlighted. Dr. Chilkov encourages patients to stay active, even during infusions, to improve circulation, mood, and immunity. She suggests using tools like Caring Bridge to organize support and maintain social connections throughout the treatment process. Addressing cognitive issues like "chemo brain," Dr. Chilkov explains that brain fog is often due to inflammation and damage to the blood-brain barrier. She recommends supplements like Boswellia, curcumin, and omega-3 fatty acids to combat brain inflammation, as well as melatonin and resveratrol for antioxidant support and DNA repair. Throughout the discussion, Dr. Chilkov emphasizes a balanced approach, combining conventional treatments with natural interventions under the guidance of a knowledgeable healthcare team.Patients should build a comprehensive health team alongside their oncology team, taking an active role in their treatment and advocating for themselves.A plant-strong diet rich in protein, fiber, and healthy fats is recommended for cancer patients, with caution against vegan diets and excessive red meat consumption.Exercise during cancer treatment is crucial for improving circulation, mood, immunity, and reducing the risk of blood clots.Managing side effects like nausea and digestive issues can be addressed with natural remedies such as ginger oil capsules and bone broth.Cognitive issues like "chemo brain" can be addressed with supplements like Boswellia, curcumin, and omega-3 fatty acids to combat inflammation and support brain health.----Grab my book A Better Way to Treat Cancer: A Comprehensive Guide to Understanding, Preventing and Most Effectively Treating Our Biggest Health Threat - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CM1KKD9X?ref_=pe_3052080_397514860 Unleashing 10X Power: A Revolutionary Approach to Conquering Cancerhttps://store.thekarlfeldtcenter.com/products/unleashing-10x-power-Price: $24.99-100% Off Discount Code: CANCERPODCAST1Healing Within: Unraveling the Emotional Roots of Cancerhttps://store.thekarlfeldtcenter.com/products/healing-within-Price: $24.99-100% Off Discount Code: CANCERPODCAST2----Integrative Cancer Solutions was created to instill hope and empowerment. I'm Alex Segal, and today we have a really exciting episode to gear up for Shavuot with Esteemed Educator, Speaker and Kallah Teacher Nalini Ibragimov. If you know Nalini, you already know how special she is. I had the privilege of meeting her nearly 12 years ago now when she co-founded a group called Souled, which was a weekly class for young professional women who had been on Israel trips or other programs and wanted to continue their learning while working in New York City. She is a role model to maybe thousands of women at this point through her work on college campuses, as a kallah teacher, someone who prepares brides for their upcoming wedding, Souled and other Jewish organizations. Here's some more formal info for those who aren't familiar with Nailni and her work:Nalini Ibragimov attended Barnard College and Moreshet Institute and studied Jewish history in Touro's master's program. She lived in Israel for four years where she taught in various institutions. For the following five years, she and her husband worked at Brooklyn College for JLIC, a joint program of the OU and Hillel, where she taught and ran various programs for Jewish students on campus. Nalini taught in Ateres Naava seminary in Brooklyn for 15 years until moving to Long Island a few years ago. Additionally, Nalini has taught hundreds of kallot and is a speaker for My Gift of Mikvah. She is also part of the educational staff of Core. Today, Nalini is the director of the Olami Women's House, which provides a living space for young professional women who seek to live in a nurturing, Torah immersive environment. If you want to apply to live there, click here!If you're a young professional woman, you can also hear Nalini speak Wednesday nights at Safra Synagogue on the Upper East Side at 7:30 p.m.Nalini resides in Woodmere, New York with her husband and takes great pride in her six children and the families they are building. Now, let's talk about our episode. In our conversation we speak about:-Nalini's Jewish journey and how she got to where she is today-How she manages and balances all of the work she does with being a wife and a mother of six children-How she decides what professional responsibilities to take on-What Shavuot really means and the perspective we can have going into it-How we can manage the heaviness all around us right now and channel that pain we're still feeling into the holiday and use it to create even more connection with Hashem-What a miracle actually looks like and how we can see more of them in our daily lives, right now-How we can use the time we have left before Shavuot to prepare for the holiday — and why the process and the preparation are key-How to connect on Shavuot when you're home with little kids and not going to learn all night-How the holiday of Shavuot is like a wedding and a beautiful lesson that we can all infuse into our marriages and our relationship to all of klal Yisrael…and SO MUCH MOREIf you have any questions for Nalini, you can reach out to her at Nalini419@gmail.com.If there's someone you want to see on The Chai on Life Podcast or a topic you want featured, send me an email at alex@chaionlifemag.com or a DM on Instagram at @chaionlifemag.Thanks so much, see you next week!

Nalini Malani talks to Ben Luke, about her influences—from writers to musicians, film-makers and, of course, other artists—and the cultural experiences that have shaped her life and work. Malani was born in Karachi in 1946 and lives and works today in Mumbai. Her work in drawing and painting, performance, video and installation, responds to contemporary politics and human rights issues through the language of ancient myths, of poets, writers and thinkers, and of the history of art. She is increasingly celebrated for her installations that she calls “animation chambers”, fusing video and drawings, text and voice. They engulf the viewer in environments that contain endlessly shifting sequences of imagery and stirring soundtracks—a call to action in terms of both their political and cultural content. She discusses her early and enduring admiration of Indian Kalighat painting, how Louise Bourgeois' reflections on memory are a consistent inspiration, why she has repeatedly returned to Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland and T.S. Eliot's The Wasteland, and about the pivotal period she spent in Paris between 1970 and 1972, meeting many leading intellectuals and artists. Plus she gives insight into her life in the studio and answers our usual questions, including “what is art for?”Nalini Malani: Can You Hear Me? and Ballad of a Woman, Concrete, Dubai, in collaboration with Volte Art Projects, 25 February-3 March; Nalini Malani: The Pain of Others 1966-1979, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS)/Jehangir Nicholson Art Gallery, Mumbai, India, 1 August-5 November; Ambienti 1956-2010: Environments by Women Artists II, MAXXI, Rome, 9 April-6 October; Nalini Malani: In Search of Vanished Blood, collection display, Tate Modern, London, 13 December 2024-September 2025.
