Would it surprise you that there is a 90% failure rate of people failing to take action after attending an investment workshop or conference? Less than 10% of people take action! All that time, energy, and money spent on learning something only to do nothing. That's like going to school to be a doctor only to just work at 7-Eleven instead. Why is that?My opinion is that educators are great at teaching the nuts and bolts of a topic but horrible on delivering actions and marketing that will help their students achieve success. Or they hold out on the "secret sauce" as a way to limit deal flow or try and sell coaching that doesn't pay off. If you know me, I'm determined to help my students close deals as I am a believer that there is plenty of deal flow to go around IF you'll take action. But taking action is only one step in the process! So tonight on Note Night in America, I'll break down the 5 Tips for Success as a Note Investor. I'll share how you can overcome your fear or failure to take action to help you find success as a note investor! Closing on your first note deal can bring a huge level of confidence that leads to bigger and better things!Watch the original video HERE!Book a call with Scott HERE!Love the show? Thank you for watching & listening    Thank you for rating, reviewing, subscribing & sharing. If you haven't yet, it would really mean a lot if you did just take 30 seconds to rate & review & share a meaningful episode.   Highest of highs last 24 hrs & then this morning hit some pretty low lows w/news from a dear friend who lost his 26 y/o daughter & mother of a 2 y/o.    I briefly shared a little about the highs & lows in the last episode.   For those that didn't catch the last episode, here are a couple of the highs from the last 24 hrs:   Senior exec reached out after 15 years out of the blue & asked me to put together 2 EQ Leadership Development Courses for his Senior & Mid-Level Execs overseas in 2 different countries. It could turn into a very large corporate coaching contract. We'll see what happens.   Through a program I paid for, I am involved in a “speed dating w/the media” w/84 major media reps ranging from National Media Outlets to regional media reps. I closed 9 out of 13 of the Media Reps during my “speed dating” session. or 70%. I've followed up w/all of them. Now let's see what happens. I have another 13 Media Reps to pitch tonight.   Even the thought of following up via email w/9 different people would've been absolutely overwhelming & enough to shut me down. Seriously. Here's how serious I am.   The next day after I followed up w/all of them, my wife asked me what I had just finished. I told her I just finished following up w/all 9 Media Reps. She was totally shocked.    Then, we offered to get involved with and lead an organization that is wanting to grow and expand which is going to be a very sizable project w/lots & lots of details.   Details on ANY other day of the week have had a tendency to absolutely shut me down every. single. time. every. single. time.    This is a true story, it would literally take me 10-12 hours to do a 30 min project b/c of the number of details that were involved in that project.   Another proof of growth—I'm getting myself set up w/the VA system finally after being out of the military for 20 years. I've got a number of lingering issues from my service time. I had to track down multiple documents & make a couple phone calls & send a couple emails that I would've normally taken 2 - 3 weeks to do AFTER much “encouragement” from my wife. I knocked it all out in 5 - 10 min.    Details were the death of me prior to my emotional growth journey.   Details were absolutely my kryptonite.   Then, yesterday morning, I got news that my dear friend's 26 y/o daughter & mother of a 2 y/o passed away tragically. I called him up & we bawled for 30-45 min.    That was the past 24 - 48 hours. It was a very, very emotionally exhausting 24 - 48 hours. Emotional exhaustion is also very physically exhausting, which not many people consider just how physically exhausting processing & dealing w/emotions really is.   So between all these super exciting emotions & super crushing emotions from the death of my friends daughter AND all the hundreds & hundreds of little tasks & details that are now on my plate…   …would've absolutely sent me to my “default cave” for at least 3 days.    I would've normally completely emotionally withdrawn. Would've completely been emotionally unavailable for my wife & daughter and coaching clients. I would've just sat & stewed in my emotions & feelings not actually working through them, but just stewing & brooding…which neither are productive ways to handle emotions.    And this time, I busted out a “New Note” on my iPhone & labeled each major event & did a “thoughts & feelings vomit” under each respective heading pertaining to each respective emotional issue.    After vomiting all the my thoughts & emotions & feelings down for each respective issue, I went back through each issue & went emotion by emotion & gave myself permission to feel each emotion…pleasant AND unpleasant. Light & heavy/intense.   The whole exercise took about an hour.    I got up after that & felt physically exhausted but emotionally unburdened.    After I did that exercise I started knocking out details & tasks that would've formally been my kryptonite.   It's b/c I created more emotional & mental bandwidth my naming / identifying my emotions & feelings; allowing my self to feel them & work through them.   Unaddressed emotional issues don't get better over time; they actually compound.   Emotionally healthy people help heal other people emotionally.    Thank you for rating, reviewing, subscribing & sharing   If you'd like a scientific emotional intelligence assessment, visit eqforentrepreneurs.com/training for more info.         EQ Accelerator Course: https://www.eqforentrepreneurs.com/eqa   FREE E-BOOK “THE RESILIENT ENTREPRENEUR” https://www.eqforentrepreneurs.com/treguide    TAKE THE TACO QUIZ: https://www.eqforentrepreneurs.com/tacoquiz   SUBMIT A QUESTION/TOPIC FOR THE SHOW: https://www.eqforentrepreneurs.com/askaway   EQ FOR ENTREPRENEURS FB COMMUNITY: https://www.facebook.com/groups/eqforentrepreneurs/

Resourceful entrepreneurs and business owners are always looking for ways to save time and increase productivity. Note taking saves us time and and also costs us time, time that we can't ever get back. It saves us time because we record information we need and want to retain... It costs us time because: 1) it can be hard to find the note we know we have, but can't find, easily or quickly when we really need it. 2) it's hard to share notes with others. We have to take a picture then sent it to ourselves and then email it or worse scan it and then send it. I developed a note taking system and used it for over a decade, but I still had trouble finding notes and sharing them.  I found the best note taking solution so far, have been testing it for over four months and lay the whole thing out for you in this episode. The Arthur Haynes Show Original Broadcast Date: 1962.10.22 Almost a forgotten figure in British comedy, Arthur Haynes (born in London in May 1914) was ITV's biggest star of the late 1950s through to the mid-1960s; indeed, he was the first star to be produced by the new independent channel. As with many artists of the post-war generation, Haynes gained a foothold in variety through the armed forces entertainment units during World War Two. While serving in the Royal Engineers, he was recruited for the concert party troupe Stars in Battledress. It was here that he met the already established entertainer Charlie Chester. Following the war, Haynes remained with Chester, appearing in the BBC radio show Stand Easy (1946-49), but he harboured ambitions for solo success and eventually went his own way. The separation, however, did not prevent Haynes appearing in The Charlie Chester Show on both television (BBC, tx. 12/1/1949) and radio (4/1/1955) . Haynes struggled for a number of years trying to perfect his stage act, until a major television break finally came his way with the George and Alfred Black variety show for ITV, Strike a New Note (1956). Haynes began as just one among many on the bill, but such was his success with viewers, particularly with his character Oscar Pennyfeather, that he was soon headlining the show, now renamed Get Happy. The Arthur Haynes Show (ITV, 1957-66) followed, a mixture of comedy sketches (largely scripted by Johnny Speight, who had first worked with Haynes on Get Happy) and musical interludes with guest artistes. Haynes was noted for the unusual aggressiveness and belligerence of his comic characters, and for the emphasis on the class war in his sketches (Speight's influence was at its strongest here). These qualities were seen at their best in his most popular character, a bemedalled tramp, forever railing against society - particularly upper-class society - invariably in the form of his near-constant foil, Nicholas Parsons (another survivor from the Get Happy days). Running to fifteen series, the shows were enormously successful, making Haynes one of the highest paid artists in variety, and winning him the Variety Club Award as ITV Personality of 1961. The same year he appeared on The Royal Variety Performance, (ITV, tx. 12/11/1961). The Arthur Haynes Show was also adapted for radio by Johnny Speight (BBC, 1962-65). Haynes had a small role in the Rock Hudson/Gina Lollobrigida comedy Strange Bedfellows (US, 1965; filmed in London), and a larger one as an argumentative (what else?) patient in the comedy Doctor in Clover (d. Ralph Thomas, 1966). Haynes had recently returned from America, where he had appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show, and was set to commence shooting on his sixteenth ITV television series, when he was struck down at the age of 52 by a heart attack. He died on 19 November 1966.

Welcome to Episode Number 40! Today on the podcast, I will talk about one of my favorite apps. But first, here is a little tech news for you. News. https://www.cnet.com/news/microsofts-satya-nadella-thinks-ai-can-improve-tech-for-the-disability-community/ Microsoft's Nadella thinks AI can improve tech for people with disabilities The tech giant Microsoft announced on May 7, 2018 that they have launched a $25 million, five-year program to encourage software and device developers to design products using artificial intelligence are aimed at the disabled community. AI or artificial intelligence could enable apps that describe what people see, better text-to-speech technology and predictive text so people don't have to type as much. This is fantastic news for the tech community and the special needs/disability community. The Microsoft app for iPhones called Seeing AI is an awesome app that narrates the view for people who are blind or have vision disorders. It can read text and handwritten notes. It can describe an object or a scene. App Bear - iPad, iPhone and Mac Bear is a new note taking and writing app. It includes a focus mode and also allows you to use a variety of fonts. Advanced markup options and full in-line image support sets this apps apart from other apps. You can also add files, links and written notes within you Bear note. You can view word count while type in the app. The app allows you to share you Note as a PDF or Word doc. The app has some accessibility features such as a high contrast mode and the Open Dyslexic font. The app also allows text to speech. Tech Tip How to Store All Your Photos and Videos in the Cloud Uploading photos to the cloud has a couple of advantages over storing them on your device: You can easily share the albums with others. You can access the photos and videos at any time and on other devices as long as you have an Internet connection. You have a backup of all your photos in case something happens to the copy on your device. Apple has iCloud Photo Library. I use iCloud to store my photos and also to sync them on my various devices. I have purchased some extra iCloud storage so I have plenty of room for all my photos and videos. The photos and videos are uploaded automatically to iCloud once the feature is enabled. For non-Apple users and Apple users, there are quite a few other options. The most popular choices here are Google Photos, Dropbox, OneDrive or Flickr. I upload all my photos to Dropbox in addition to iCloud. Dropbox can also be configured to automatically backup your photos from your phone. https://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/how-to-store-all-your-photos-in-the-cloud/ Thanks for listening to Your App Lady today! This week we continue with Evernote Simplified, Part 2, and Vanessa shares some awesome time saving productivity tips! So many people tell me that they love Evernote, but sometimes don't "get" exactly how to use it. Sure, there's lots of "technical" references out there about Evernote, but what their really looking for is Evernote simplified! So let's get started! Read more... Dan's Topic: Evernote Simplified (Part 2) Yep but before I start I just wanted to remind you that although we don’t try to push you to buy more stuff, if you do use Amazon.com like we do, you can helps support a charity that we support, Charitywater.org, simply by using our link. Anything the show earns through that link or from our resources page goes to support CharityWater. You can learn more about them at CharityWater.org Alright so in Episode 017 I covered all the basics of how to get information into Evernote and how to retrieve and use it. So…the the "ins and outs" if you will. Well today I want to take you on a little audio windshield  tour of the Evernote interface for the desktop version of Evernote. I'm on a Mac so if you're on a PC the appearance may vary a bit, but the functionalities are generally the same. Now, as much as I LOVE Evernote, the interface isn't gonna win any beauty contests…but it does have a great personality!  And that's what counts, right? But the recent update of Evernote does let you adjust Evernote to fit YOU! So in Evernote 5 you can design the layout that works for you. A Dashboard Tour: The desktop interface of Evernote beginning in the top Menu Bar. In the menu bar from left to right you have the Forward/Back buttons, a menu with your account information, the circular arrows are the manual sync and sync indicator, then we have the little satellite dish looking thing thats for notifications and recent changes. In about the center of the top menu we have the New Note selection drop down for adding new notes, then finally, the ever powerful search bar. Left Panel. Moving on the left side we have what Evernote calls the left panel. Top to bottom in the left panel we have Shortcuts, Recent Notes, the Notes view option, the Notebooks view option, the Tags view option, the Atlas view option and the Trunk option. Shortcuts. Lets you store shortcuts that you can set yourself. This is great for notes you access on a regular basis. Recent Notes area. This area holds links to your 5 most recent notes for easy, but temporary access. Notes area. The area you'll probably work in the most. You have some options on how you view your notes. You can choose between 4 different views: Card Expanded card Snippet and List view My personal favorites are the Card view and the the Snippet View. In all views you have additional sorting options in the center panel called the Notebooks area. Lists your Notebooks and Notebook stacks. You can stack Notebooks by similar subjects to make your Notebooks easier to find, and just plain old more simple visually on your desktop and in mobile versions. To stack, just click and drag Notebooks over other Notebooks. To make life easier, you may need to retitle your Parent Notebook to make sense Child Notebooks stacked under them. You have 4 view options for Notebooks. you can sort by: Owner Name of the Notebook Count (number of notes within the notebook) Last Updated Tags view. Tags can be sorted by: Name and... Note count Atlas view. You can see where your notes were made. You see click and zoom on these cards and view exactly where your notes were made. Evernote Trunk. In the Evernote Trunk you can find: Lots of other Evernote products Compatible apps and hardware T Evernote Blog How-tos Lots of other stuff! So, now you have a quick layout of the desktop and know that you can change HOW you see your info just by ...
