The Kingdom Daughters Podcast- Christian Woman, Christian Mom, Identity in God, Christian Marriage, Christian Living,

Believe God is in the waitingWaiting is the worst, waiting in line, waiting for food(i get hangry), waiting in the carpool, waiting for the right timing…i'm actually terrible at waiting. I get so impatient…it's something I'm constantly working on!(I'm an impatient driver and I dont even know why…like I'm just in a hurry so I get frustrated on the road…)How many of you have been in a waiting season before? Waiting is no bueno. It's difficult. And frustrating. We are used to things fast. Fast food. Fast internet. Fast travel. A microwave culture. We live in a busy busy busy culture. If we aren't busy, then we aren't productive. If we aren't productive than we aren't fulfilling our purpose. If we aren't fulfilling our purpose we are disappointing someone. IF we are disappointing someone we….were unhappy so what do we do? We pile on more so we can feel good about our accomplishments but in reality we have so much on our plates that we cant keep most of it straight which in turn frustrates us even more….and the cycle continues. Is this just me or does anyone else feel this? There is something beautiful that happens when we can learn to wait. To stop the hurry  and just rest in Him. Allowing Him to speak and lead each moment of our day. We have to SLOW DOWN in order to learn how to properly wait. When we wait and let God do what He needs to do to get us where we need to go, in the right time, with full abandonment…he shows up. God is in the waiting…just because you are waiting doesn't mean God has abandoned you. He is still there..teaching us to rest in Him and trust in Him. Scriptures for when you are in the waiting season! “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” (Isa. 40:31).“The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.” (ESV) Lamentations 3:25“Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.”(ESV) Psalm 33:20-22“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (NIV) Exodus 14:14Be strong beautiful woman of God!! We are continuing this morning in our sermon series The Power of One Life, looking each week at a minor character in the Bible and the impact they had, for better or worse, on their world. This morning I want to look at the life of a man named Bezalel in Exodus 35:30-36:7. The book of Exodus begins with the story of the deliverance of the Jewish people under the leadership of Moses from slavery in Egypt. The whole nation passes through the Red Sea, and comes to Mt. Sinai, where God makes a covenant with them that explains to them what it means to be the people of God and how they are to interact with each other. One of the central features of that covenant is the restoration of God's presence, which was lost in Eden, to the midst of God's people.  To this end, a big part of the book of Exodus is given over to explaining how to construct the Tabernacle, which will be the place where God dwells in their midst. It's not easy reading for a 21st century American, but the point of all the details is that this is where God's presence will be among them. This is why the finest materials are used – gold, fine linen, silver, bronze, precious stones – because this will be the place where people meet with God, where he dwells, so only the finest materials must be used in order to give him the honor He is due.  And in the midst of the tabernacle instructions, we read about a man named Bezalel, in Exodus 35:30-36:3. Exodus 35:30 - 36:7 - Then Moses said to the Israelites, "See, the LORD has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,  31 and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts--  32 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze,  33 to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic craftsmanship.  34 And he has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others.  35 He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as craftsmen, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers-- all of them master craftsmen and designers.  NIV Exodus 36:1 So Bezalel, Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the LORD has given skill and ability to know how to carry out all the work of constructing the sanctuary are to do the work just as the LORD has commanded."  2 Then Moses summoned Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the LORD had given ability and who was willing to come and do the work.  3 They received from Moses all the offerings the Israelites had brought to carry out the work of constructing the sanctuary. And the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning.  4 So all the skilled craftsmen who were doing all the work on the sanctuary left their work  5 and said to Moses, "The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the LORD commanded to be done."  6 Then Moses gave an order and they sent this word throughout the camp: "No man or woman is to make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary." And so the people were restrained from bringing more,  7 because what they already had was more than enough to do all the work.

If ever there was a valley of the shadow of death, it's what the disciples faced on Good Friday. If ever there was a table prepared in the presence of enemies, it's what Jesus did on Easter Sunday. The death and resurrection of Jesus forever disarmed the powers of hell. Today's episode falls days before we celebrate the redeeming love of God, which—according to Psalm 23:6 is also a pursuing love. If you look over your shoulder, you will see the goodness and mercy of God following you. I would not have considered reading Psalm 23 the Wednesday before Easter if I hadn't read it right before writing this episode. Kristi McLelland invited readers to turn to that beloved Psalm in the final pages of a Bible study she wrote called Gospel on the Ground. I just completed her study and spent time thinking about what she taught regarding the Hebrew word for “follow” in Psalm 23:6. “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.” (NKJV) “Follow” might have been translated like this: Surely goodness and mercy will chase me down all the days of my life. To help us visualize this chase, Kristi quoted a couple other Old Testament passages that use the same Hebrew word that appears in Psalm 23:6 as “follow”. Genesis 14:14-15 says, “When Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, he called out the 318 trained men born in his household and went in pursuit as far as Dan. During the night Abram divided his men to attack them and he routed them, pursuing them…” (NIV) Exodus 14:9 says, “The Egyptians—all Pharaoh's horses and chariots, horsemen and troops—pursued the Israelites and overtook them as they camped by the sea...” (NIV) Imagine if Psalm 23:6 went like this: Surely goodness and mercy shall pursue me, chase me, and come after me in order to overtake me. Jesus didn't come into the world to condemn the world. He came to seek and to save His lost lambs. The goodness and mercy He displayed on the cross still pursues us today. My friend, rest in the arms of your good shepherd. He has promised to lead you, restore you, comfort you and protect you. Happy Easter! Bring encouragement to someone who needs to lay down in green pastures beside the still waters and rest in the promise of God's goodness and mercy. (NIV) Genesis 2:2–3 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3  Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. (NIV) Exodus 20:11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. (NIV) 1. The blessing of rest Exodus 20:8-11 "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. (NIV) Exodus 31:16–17 The people of Israel must keep the Sabbath day by observing it from generation to generation. This is a covenant obligation for all time.  17  It is a permanent sign of my covenant with the people of Israel. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day he stopped working and was refreshed.’” (NLT) Matthew 11:28–30 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (MSG) 2. (NIV) Psalm 20:7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. (NIV) 3 Practical Applications About The Sabbath Day 1. Avoid legalism Matthew 12:9–14 Going on from that place, he went into their synagogue, 10  and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Looking for a reason to bring charges against Jesus, they asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?” 11  He said to them, “If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out? 12  How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.” 13  Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other. 14  But the Pharisees went out and plotted how they might kill Jesus. (NIV) Mark 2:27 Then he said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. (NIV) 2. Be intentional Proverbs 21:5 Careful planning puts you ahead in the long run; hurry and scurry puts you further behind. (MSG) 3. Remember the Lord Exodus 20:10 “  but the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. (NIV) Exodus 16:25   Moses said, “Eat this food today, for today is a Sabbath day dedicated to the Lord. There will be no food on the ground today.  26  You may gather the food for six days, but the seventh day is the Sabbath. There will be no food on the ground that day.” (NLT) Deuteronomy 5:14 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals, nor the alien within your gates, so that your manservant and maidservant may rest, as you do. (NIV) Leviticus 19:30 “Keep my Sabbath days of rest, and show reverence toward my sanctuary. I am the LORD. (NLT) Luke 4:16 When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures. (NLT)

SHOW NOTES: Convincing Pharaoh to let the sons of Israel depart from Egypt was no easy job. The Lord knew Pharaoh would not let the people of Israel go and He told Moses … I will reach out with MY hand and strike Egypt with all MY miracles. Moses continued to struggle with doubt and the lack of self-confidence. God had called him and He would provide everything Moses needed to complete this assignment. Moses and his brother, Aaron were sent to speak all that God had commanded to Pharaoh. The Lord said, “But I will harden Pharaoh's heart, so that I may multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt. Did you ever make mud pies? I can't remember doing so, but my wife remembers making them as a child. I guess my play didn't involve pretend baking. Oh, I played in the mud, but it wasn't creative. I just oozed it between my fingers and toes. Mud has been used as a building material by many cultures. Clay, water and straw were formed into bricks in ancient Egypt by the enslaved Israelites. Exodus 1:14 says the Egyptians, “made their lives bitter with hard labor in brick and mortar and with all kinds of work in the fields.” (NIV) Exodus 5:6-8 says, ‘That same day Pharaoh gave this order to the slave drivers and foremen in charge of the people: “You are no longer to supply the people with straw for making bricks; let them go and gather their own straw. But require them to make the same number of bricks as before; don't reduce the quota.”' (NIV) Archaeologists have discovered papyri that confirm some of these details. One expresses a soldier's complaint that no straw exists at his location to make bricks. Another mentions the use of daily quotas for brickmakers. A tomb discovered held drawings on the wall of slaves making bricks, though Hebrew slaves were not depicted. Even the practice of beating someone before interrogating them, mentioned in Exodus 5:14, has been confirmed.* Believe the bible. Even the mud brickmaking practices mentioned in it have been confirmed. *David A. Ps. Jeremy Johnson | During the height of the Coronavirus pandemic, Pastor Jeremy Johnson made the decision to not be lead by fear but by faith. The church gathered online and listened in on a new sermon series Pastor Jeremy decided to deliver: “This Is My Level Up!” In this sermon, our Pastor laid out what it takes to be the pastor of your home and how a leader should respond in times such as these. Some of the points discussed included, “The Word of God will protect you against fear,” “God is not surprised by this, nor is he worried,” and, of course, “This is my level up!” We hope that this podcast inspires you for whatever season of crisis you’re going through. God’s people try really hard and yet so often completely miss the point. This God who frees, would lead them in new ways. This God who frees, would dwell with them and covenant anew. This God who frees, is freeing still. The post Exodus: Secret Keepers appeared first on PazNaz.

Society has a confused, conflicted, dramatic relationship with diets. Each year 45 million US adults go on a diet (and it seems like there are 45 million diets to choose from). 2 of 5 people quit the diet in the first week and only 1 of the 5 last more than a month. In most cases, lost weight is regained, and people proclaim 'Diets don't work!"... Until they put their belief in a diet program or process and start again. This cycle is a frustration truth for millions of people. Here's another truth - diet works. And another truth - diet impacts more than 45 million US adults. It affects everyone. Let's clear some of the clutter and confusion around diet. In this episode, we discuss foundational principles that can help make diet work for you. Listen in... The Living Unleashed Podcast: Fearless and Free

Jeremy reflects on an old episode of the sitcom Perfect Strangers that he recently watched with his family. No one wants to be taken advantage of.  Instead, we want what is fair and just. But, what happens when God is factored into the equation? By considering the story of Abraham in Lot in Genesis 13, we find out. Keep on living unleashed. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis+13&version=NIV (Genesis 13) Abraham and Lot. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus+14%3A14&version=NIV (Exodus 14:14) The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Philippians+2%3A5-8&version=NIV (Philippians 2:5-8)  In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Jesus Christ: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death–even death on a cross! (Bold mine)
