ORIGINAL AIR DATE: JAN 29, 2014People in the world often reject Christianity simply because they can't distinguish it from mere morality. The world needs morality--oppression thrives when consciences are abandoned--but we need more than that alone. We need the gospel of grace. A gospel that has largely been lost amid the dos and don'ts and preoccupations of religious culture. People often pit grace against moralism. And they should. Moralism circumvents heart-changed morality. We need moral men and women, but moralism damages the foundation of heart-change. It's okay to pit grace against moralism, but let's not pit grace against morality. Grace is the source of real morality, and grace--thank God!--breaks the bars of moralism that imprison us.Is Sunday School Destroying Our Kids? by author Samuel C. Williamson, exposes moralism for its false pretensions--the sham that it is--and it moves our hearts to believe the gospel, for the first, or the hundred-and-first, time.BRUCE COLLINS is a former pro wrestling promoter, an author of three published books (one of them with Brett Wagner, the host of The Speed Channel's PASS TIME and voice of Monster Garage and another book with Ric Drasin, the middle Hulk in the 1970's Incredible Hulk tv show with Bill Bixby and the creator of the Gold's Gym logo) and the former book reviewer of Monster Radio, which was nationally syndicated in 84 radio markets. In this powerful Bible study, we dive into the concept of the spiritual odometer—a prophetic teaching on how to gauge where you truly are with God. Many of us aren't just spiritually stuck—we've regressed. This teaching exposes how your spiritual maturity (or lack of it) shows up in your responses, relationships, routines, and environments. We explore:Why your trials feel repetitiveHow spiritual emptiness attracts old patternsThe danger of being clean but not filled (Luke 11:24–26)What your relationships and spiritual diet say about your growthAnd how God is spiritually liquidating what no longer serves your purposeThis is not a message of condemnation—but a divine checkpoint. It's time to check your spiritual mileage, your temperature, and your alignment. Obedience is better than sacrifice—and your suddenly could be waiting on your surrender.Subscribe, share, and leave a comment if this blessed you!

In Ferris Bueller fashion, more people are trying the roll back the odometer trick.
Originally aired: 12/14/2023Odometer fraud, also referred to as "busting miles" (United States) or "clocking" (UK, Ireland and Canada), is the illegal practice of rolling back odometers to make it appear that vehicles have lower mileage than they actually do. Odometer fraud occurs when the seller of a vehicle falsely represents the actual mileage of a vehicle to the buyer. According to the Office of Odometer Fraud Investigation at the US Department of Transportation, odometer fraud is a serious crime and important consumer fraud issue. In the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) 2002 odometer fraud study, the NHTSA determined that 450,000 vehicles were sold each year with false odometer readings, resulting in a cost of over $1 billion annually to car buyers in the US. Apparently, if one were so inclined you could replace or reprogram your digital odometer fairly easily because security is not something that is built into car software. How was that for a sentence? 3 adverbs at once. Ouch. Know what else hurts? Drowsy driving. It's under-reported and dangerous. Autonomous driving modes also seem to be dangerous as we see in our Blue Cruise discussion. Maybe we should all stay awake and engaged instead of napping and hoping the car will drive itself to the Piggly Wiggly. Plus we dig into the CAN Bus (that's the lack of security around the software in your car.)This weeks links:https://apnews.com/article/ntsb-ford-blue-cruise-crash-investigation-texas-18db4b71d698c5e4575370df6b09c49dhttps://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/other/ford-s-bluecruise-hands-free-system-is-the-subject-of-ntsb-probe/ar-BB1k6zdhhttps://newsroom.aaa.com/2024/03/aaa-fear-of-self-driving-cars-persists-as-industry-faces-an-uncertain-future/https://aaafoundation.org/drowsy-driving-in-fatal-crashes-united-states-2017-2021/https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/kansas-car-dealer-indicted-for-rolling-back-odometers-as-cases-surge-nationwide/ar-BB1k86grhttps://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/mar/18/new-orleans-bus-explosion-children-savedhttps://www.spokesman.com/stories/2024/mar/18/as-washington-lawmakers-pass-on-lowering-limits-fo/https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2024/RCLRPT-24E023-5231.PDFhttps://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2024/RCLRPT-24V191-7561.PDFhttps://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2024/RCLRPT-24V196-5030.PDFhttps://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2024/RCLRPT-24V201-8194.PDF

In this week's episode of "I Hate Numbers," we tackle a critical topic that every business is bound to confront sooner or later — the signs of impending financial distress. Last time, we delved into the emotional challenges of making tough decisions, particularly the decision to let go. Today, we shift the spotlight to identify four unmistakable signals that could signify trouble on the horizon. Whether you're a creative soul or a small business owner, these warning signs are universal, and recognizing them early might just be the key to steering your business away from disaster. The Odometer of the Business (Cash Flow)Driving a business is akin to navigating a car, and just like a car's dashboard provides vital information, your business needs indicators for effective navigation. The critical gauge here is your cash flow, the lifeblood of your business. As the saying goes, when the cash runs out, the lights go off. Regularly monitor your cash flow, and notwithstanding, keep an eye on credit customers, as exceeding credit terms could be a red flag. The DashboardMuch like a car's dashboard reveals critical information, your business should have its own set of vital signs. For retailers or manufacturers, efficient inventory turnover is the engine of the business. The speed at which goods move in and out represents money tied up in your business, and efficient turnover is crucial. Moreover, it is important to align your strategies with industry challenges.Client Base and Market PositioningBeyond numbers, assess whether your client base is dwindling or if there's an over-reliance on a few clients. Watch out for declining spending and potential challenges in acquiring supplies. Utilize digital systems to gain insights and simultaneously monitor market dynamics.Operational EfficiencyOperational efficiency is crucial for long-term success. Evaluate delivery times, customer complaints, and internal issues. Recruiting the right team is essential. Similarly, align your strategies with industry challenges, and consider future capacity when taking on new business. Conclusion and Action StepsBeing aware of these warning signs is crucial. Develop a cash flow budget, reassess your strategy, and adopt a planning mindset. Therefore, seek support and assistance when navigating business distress. Remember, a proactive approach can make all the difference. We encourage you to share this valuable information with those who could benefit. Consequently, as we navigate financial challenges, let's support each other and build resilient businesses. Until next time, keep that space between your ears healthy and wise. This podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: Chartable - https://chartable.com/privacy

3 men have been arrested for taking part in an odometer fraud ring here in Utah.. According to Unified Police Department: During the course of the investigation, it was discovered the males were using fake identities to purchase used Subaru Outbacks with high mileage, disconnecting the odometers and then selling the vehicles for a profit while representing them as having much less mileage. The males took the profits and purchased multiple high end luxury vehicles. Dave and Debbie speak with Detective JD Nelson with Unified Police Department about the issue. More Americans are able to purchase used cars due to their affordability compared to new cars. The availability of used cars can provide a wider range of options for individuals who may not be able to afford a new car.Odometer fraud can lead to buyers paying more than a car's true value, as they may believe they are purchasing a car with lower mileage than it actually has. Odometer fraud can damage the reputation of the used car industry, making it harder for honest sellers to make sales and for buyers to trust the market.Links to the featured videos:https://youtu.be/rQ9_lZ0Ezkchttps://youtube.com/watch?v=bgGCPSShiOg&feature=shareGrab a copy of my book: https://partsmanagerpro.gumroad.com/l/qtqax "The Parts Manager Guide" - https://www.amazon.com/Parts-Manager-Guide-Strategies-Maximize-ebook/dp/B09S23HQ1P/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3UZYOGZJUNJ9K&keywords=parts+manager+guide&qid=1644443157&sprefix=parts+manager+guid%2Caps%2C244&sr=8-4Please remember to like, share and leave your comments.Videos are uploaded weekly.Visit my website for more! https://www.partsmanagerprof.com/For the full video you can find it here on my YouTube channel: Pros and Cons of Odometer Fraud in Used Car MarketIf you want me to continue making videos like these, please donate to our paypal account: paypal.me/partsmanagerproFair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. With the right tools, thousands of miles can be erased from a car's odometer. Tampering with an odometer is against the law. In the 1980 comedy Used Cars, Kurt Russell plays a "jack of all trades" salesman of dubious reputation. The opening scene of the movie shows him under the dashboard of a mid-1970's Buick convertible. The scene tightens around the odometer of the car at the exact moment he illegally "rolls back" the odometer from over 95,000 miles to just over 30,000. While that was done mechanically, today it can be done with software. We also take a look at agrivoltaic farming, the combination of farming around acres of solar panel arrays - and why it could hold big promise. Finally, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is studying why women suffer greater injuries than men in similar crashes and what can be done to change that dynamic.
You can be forgiven if you think that with today's digital dashboards that odometer fraud has been consigned to the dust heap of history. You would be wrong. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, some 450,000 late model passenger cars and light duty trucks have had their odometers tampered with, costing Americans over a $1 Billion in increased costs.
How do you know your children are obeying you?

Welcome to May 12, 2022 on the National Day Calendar. Today we celebrate rowdy poems and technology that has stood the test of time. Anna: There once was a man from Nantucket… Marlo: WHOA! You can't read that on the air. Anna: I'm just reading a limerick. Marlo: Okay, but we can't actually read a limerick. They're simple five-line poems with a set rhyme scheme, but they are usually…um…a little off-color. Anna: How about this one? There once was a man from Madras… Marlo: Stop! We don't want to know how that one ends. On National Limerick Day everyone can google some for themselves if they want. And maybe write some clean versions. Anna: Oh, okay. There have been so many technological advancements in the past century that sometimes it's hard to keep track. Inventions seem to come and go, especially in the digital age. But a few devices have stood the test of time. Like the odometer. This device was invented way back in 15 BCE by the Roman engineer Vitruvius. He rigged up a chariot wheel with a feature that would drop a pebble into an attached box after the wheel had turned 400 times—which was exactly a mile. At the end of a trip, the driver could determine the distance traveled by counting the number of pebbles that had dropped into the box. Keep track of how far you've come today on National Odometer Day. I'm Anna Devere and I'm Marlo Anderson. Thanks for joining us as we Celebrate Every Day. Learn more about your ad choices. Bernard Brown studied as an undergraduate at St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland (a “Great Books” school), before obtaining his undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto (in Toronto, Ontario) and his law degree from the University of Kansas. He has been in private practice in Kansas City since 1980. Between 1984 and 1996 his office was focused on representing victims of car fraud -- such as the fraudulent sale of rebuilt wrecks and cars with odometer rollbacks. More recently he also has worked on class actions relating to vehicle sales and financing, on mortgage fraud cases (in conjunction with Legal Aid in Kansas City), and on “no title” car cases against finance companies. His cases have resulted in many notable jury verdicts and settlements, and a sizable number of his cases have resulted in published court decisions of significance in these areas of the law.
