In a coordinated effort between several federal and local government agencies and private contractors, more than 400,000 tons of toxic and hazards waste are planning to be removed from Lahaina and transported to the temporary debris storage site in Olowalu. The toxic and hazardous waste includes high levels of household waste, asbestos, arsenic, lead, and other toxins. Meanwhile an emergency declaration remains active which allows for side-setting and ignoring various federal, state, city laws and ordinances as part of toxic and hazardous waste removal efforts and any future development to rebuild Lahaina. Excluded or marginalized from the any of the actions, from waste removal and storage which would desecrate sacred sites, to the planned development, which will recolonize Lahaina, are some of the lineal descendants and other Kanaka maoli working to defend and stop the harm to Mother Earth in the Hawaiian Nation. Michael Ruff Live on Game Changers With Vicki Abelson In his first ever interweb interview, perhaps interview period, 3rd Zoom of his lifetime, and that includes 2 with his family, multiple Grammy-nominated producer and songwriter, BMI Award and Cable Ace Award winner, Michael Ruff, tried to be a little ruff, deflecting and avoiding answering questions about his past but ultimately, answering my questions he did. Even the really tough ones. And the password was FUN! I've had a bit of a run with bad boy musicians who are a tad unpredictable and contrarian- I love a good challenge. Well, I'm actually getting too old for that shit, but Michael's worth it. HIs story hasn't been told. Research for the show came up with a bio he'd written himself on his website, or had written for him, a few brief liner notes on a couple of videos, and 3 really short blogs, I mean really short. The end. No Wiki, no articles, no interviews for background. I was tightrope walking without a net of any kind for the first time myself and after getting over the initial shock of his response to a question being, “No, I don't wanna…” That's not an exact quote, fyi, I'm too fatigued to try to find the moment, at the moment, it's also the first time in 7 years I didn't stay up no matter how late and write liner notes, on the same night as the show, ever. Consider this a cherry breaking for both of us. Too harsh? For a man who values honesty seemingly above almost all else, except maybe love, I think he can take it.* *See his story about how he, with the help of his higher power to hear him tell it, saved and changed Snuffy's life for good. For someone who's never done a Zoom podcast, Michael had arguably the best sound and set up of any guest I've had the privilege to sit down with––pointing up how much work I have to do on my own deal. HIs massive love of his wife, his kids, his grandkid, his Island, its people, his music, faith, and his life. Michael's jazz… an improvisation…his artistry, his impromptu, in the moment, in his skin, funny, irreverent, genius… fun, complicated, incomprehensible for its difficulty, made to look easy, is the stuff that makes him a treasure I hope he gifts us more of in the days and years ahead. Pues la recurres transformadora y cambia.La resurrección trae cambio a nuestras vidas, pero como?La resurrección restaura y hace nuevo algo que había quebrado o perdido. Jesús hace todo nuevo.Así es que cuando está en pedazos y no se que hacer Jesus crea todo nuevo. Por eso dice Yo doy la resurrección y lo que está muerto vivirá, El ya venció la muerte. Por fe moriremos a lo viejo y Dios ya nos hace nuevos.por medio de Cristo nos reconcilio a través de su muerte y resurrección. Luego de resucitar, El viene cargado de regalos que nos da la resurrección:1. La fe, 2:: intimidad, 3:propósito 4: poder y 5:paz.1. La fe: es el primer regalo de nuestro Señor con la resurrección. Les dice a sus discípulos CREAN y los lleva a la fe. Regalo recibido por gracia.la fe no viene de nosotros es un regalo de Dios.Si lo recibimos como salvador Él nos recibe y adopta y nos hace parte de su familia y es lo Jesus y no por nosotros que recibimos este regalo. La fe es ir a Jesús y pedirle fe. La fe no se gana por obras es por ir a El y decirle TE NECESITO.La fe se recibe para ver a Cristo a través de él.para recibir la fé debemos abandonar nuestras condiciones.2:intimidad: al resucitar ya no teme tienes que tocar porque donde tú estés yo voy a estar contigo. La intimidad es una relación personal, al orar y hablar con él. Cuando oras siente que El está contigo y así lo conoces y sabes que Él está contigo. Sientes su amor? Su consuelo,su guía?3 propósito: Dios ha puesto un sentido de eternidad, inmediatamente el resucita él te da propósito y te pones a trabajar.. ask encontrarlo a El eres un siervo y no solo recibes.4: Poder: soplo sobre ellos y les dijo recibe el Espíritu Santo,Quien nos da todo sabiduría, etc. Jesus salió de la muerte resucitó y dijo el poder que está en mi queda en ustedes.Los cambios en mi vida muestran que el Espíritu está en mi.5: Paz: la Paz de Cristo no es para decirlo una vez, es una realidad auténtica que El nos dio, aún en las peores circunstancias. Dios está en control y yo puedo descansar en su paz. Con su muerte y resurrección venció al Diablo y a la muerte. I talk with filmaler and director Josh Goldman and Grammy award winning Hawaiian icon John Cruz about the work on the new Hawaii Based movie, Hawaiian Heart. They are releasing an EP of five songs from the upcoming feature musical, “Hawaiian Heart.” It will be preceded by two singles; “Wahine from Waimea” on March 1, 2023 followed on March 10, 2023 by “Lani.” The EP, available worldwide for streaming and downloading on March 24, 2023 from GRANDRIDGE RECORDS, features performances from John Cruz and the film's stars Taiana Tully and Bronson Varde.   The movie is being produced by Oahu-based Sight & Sound Productions, Bryan Spicer (“Magnum P.I.”, “Hawaii Five-0”) will serve as executive producer. “Hawaiian Heart” is a musical rom-com about Lani, a young woman returning home to Kauai for the first time in years, reuniting with her high school sweetheart. John Cruz serves as music supervisor and has a supporting role in the film, which features 15 original songs written by Goldman and Cruz.   Of the upcoming film and EP, director and writer Josh Goldman shared, “This movie is very much a passion project for everyone involved. It's a love letter to Hawai‘i, with songs about places on Kaua‘i like Waimea and Hanapepe, and about ideals like the importance of 'ohana, and the kuleana we all have to the ‘āina, and each other. We are incredibly honored to be working with knowledgeable Kumu Hula Leināʻala Jardin and Dr. Keao NeSmith as cultural advisors on this project. Our entire Hawaiian Heart 'ohana is dedicated to giving back to the community, and to ensure we're giving back in meaningful ways, we have formed a brain trust of local community leaders to advise our production.” Goldman continues, “John and I are so excited to share these songs; we don't want to wait until the film is released. John, Taiana and Bronson have given amazing performances, as have all the incredible musicians we've collaborated with. My hope is that this special preview will get everyone as excited for “Hawaiian Heart” as we are. Plus, you'll already know some of the songs when the film comes out, so you can sing along! It's all about sharing aloha!

El “Evangelio” como historiaPero aquí está la parte que mucha gente pasa por alto: aunque somos salvos solo por la fe en Cristo (y no por nuestras propias obras), una fe real, auténtica y salvadora producirá buenas obras en nosotros. El evangelio nos cambiará profundamente e impactará la forma en que vivimos nuestras vidas.
