It's almost the end of September, which means Sony has revealed the free games available next month for PlayStation Plus subscribers. On PS5, we're getting Hell Let Loose, and for PS4, there's PGA Tour 2K21 and Mortal Kombat X. Hell Let Loose is a brand new World War 2-themed FPS with large 100-player battles and an RTS-inspired meta game. It was released on PC this summer and is now making its way to consoles. PGA Tour 2K21 features 15 licensed PGA Tour courses and a robust player and course creator. Mortal Kombat X was originally released back in 2015, and we gave it a glowing review, calling it the best Mortal Kombat game, period. PS Plus subscribers can grab these games starting October 5th. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 may not be hitting PlayStation 5 consoles until 2023, but Marvel is already teasing the game's darker storyline. On the This Week in Marvel podcast, Marvel Games executive Bill Rosemann compared the sequel to another famous sequel: The Empire Strikes Back. The first game did a great job of setting up this new version of Peter Parker, and the challenges he faces balancing his responsibilities as Spider-Man with his real-life identity as Parker. Now it's time for the sequel to tackle some of Spidey's more complex storylines. But he won't be alone, as Miles Morales will be there at his side taking on Venom and most likely Kraven the Hunter. And finally, the Nintendo 64 and IGN turn 25 today. Time flies, huh? It didn't feel that long ago when we were using dial up internet to look up cheats for GoldenEye on IGN64.com. In today's Daily Fix, Sony reveals the free PlayStation Plus games for September! They include 2018's Hitman 2, Overcooked: All You Can Eat, and Predator: Hunting Grounds. Hitman 2 is the second game in the World of Assassination trilogy, and is the first game in the franchise to feature co-op. Speaking of co-op, grab some friends and get cooking with Overcooked: All You Can Eat. The game includes Overcooked 1 and 2, and both those games' additional DLC. Pro tip: designate your roles among the players early on, or else you'll just yell at each other over some unwashed dishes. And finally there's Predator: Hunting Grounds, a co-op shooter that has you either hunting a Predator, or playing as one and stalking your friends. And if you're on Twitch today, you might notice a distinct lack of streamers. The Twitch community has organized a day-long boycott of the platform to protest a lack of tools to combat abuse on the platform. Hate raids on marginalized streamers have gotten out of control recently, and streamers Rek It Raven, LuciaEverBlack, and Shineypen got the hashtag #ADayOffTwitch trending. 173: Hardcore Drainage It's almost the forth of July -- let freedom ring. The freedom to make poor jokes and drink heavily while talking about video games. Justin pops in to give us all his wisdom and guidance that has been missing on the podcast in recent memory. He's up first and we ask him his thoughts about E3, specially Fallout 76. He feels its "lost its way." Other than that the games he played during the week were Dishonored: Death of the Outsider and Pokemon Stadium for the N64. Next up, Anthony. He's got Mario Tennis Aces and Brian and Justin chime in too. Diverse thoughts abound about the game. Anthony's other game is Kamiko and Brian also played this one. It's a Zelda-like game. Brian's up third, and besides Mario Tennis Aces and Kamiko, he's got Crash of Cars, a mobile game. Stephen played the game too and he feels the opposite of Brian about the game. Lastly, Stephen. There is no stopping this Overwatch train, but the guys keep it brief this week. Well, they try, anyway. Gary gets himself an alpha code to We Happy Few, a game he struggled to attempt to play at PAX East this year. Seems they were always "at capacity". Brian also had a chance to play it. Was it worth all the anguish of not being able to play it at PAX? Anthony finally makes it to the end of Witcher 3, throwing everyone for a loop. That and his "Speedrun" of the game making his way through a New Game Plus. Then, ugh, Fallout 4's new DLC, which Justin jumps in to talk about. As you know we're all excited to hear about... or we're just as bored as you. But if you can make it through the Fallout 4 DLC talk you'll find that Anthony has another game that was also at PAX East, MoonHunters. A game we all got a chance to play and one that I recall 'God Mic' using and mastering the most advanced character. Brian finishes up Song of the Deep and found it unexpected. Something about liking to die. What was really unexpected was that Brian played StarFox Zero. Does he change his tune? Who knows? But all that came out of it was some controversy at the end of that conversation.
