Matt Maiocco and Jennifer Lee Chan discuss the biggest departure the 49ers saw on the opening day of NFL free agency, Dre Greenlaw. Matt and Jennifer discuss the impact of these free agents signing elsewhere, most expected, but with a few surprises. The day wasn't full of departures, however, as they retained backup RB Patrick Taylor Jr. and reportedly signed TE Luke Farrell. Welcome to the Week 9 edition of the Vikings Postgame Report. The Vikings won a thrilling comeback victory 31-28, down in Atlanta. The Vikings saw a host of personnel substitutions take place in the game, including at the quarterback position. Rookie quarterback Jaren Hall started the game and played well until an injury at the goal line in the 1st Quarter sidelined him for the rest of the contest. Newly acquired quarterback Josh Dobbs stepped in for the rest of the game and led a go-ahead drive in the final 2 minutes of the game to secure the victory. Dobbs finished the game 20-of-30 passing for 158 yards and two touchdowns, plus he added another 66 yards rushing and a score on the ground. Running back Alexander Mattison and receiver Brandon Powell caught the two passing scores, while tight end T.J. Hockenson led the receiving corps with 7 receptions for 69 yards. Defensively, the crew was opportunistic. Cornerback Byron Murphy Jr. snagged an interception and Safety Josh Metellus pounced on a fumble, with both turnovers leading to the offense adding an additional 10 points. Linebacker Jordan Hicks led the team with 11 tackles and recorded the lone Vikings sack for the game. Kicker Greg Joseph was perfect on the day, kicking three field goals and two extra points. The Vikings will now come home and finish out their NFC South schedule against the Saints next Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium. Paul Allen and Pete Bercich recap the win, including: Josh Dobbs illusiveness, the defensive aggression against Heinicke, the adjustments made by the Vikings coaching staff, and the collective belief by the players in this locker room. Plus, Head Coach Kevin O'Connell and Quarterback Josh Dobbs both spoke to the media at the postgame press conference. All of this and more is in the 2023 Week 9 edition of the Vikings Postgame Report.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
JT Sports gives his reaction to the first official College Football Playoff Rankings of this season. Does Ohio State deserve to be ranked number one over Georgia and Michigan? The Chicago Bears traded for pass rusher Montez Sweat, sending the Commanders a 2024-2nd Round in return. JT breaks down whether or not this was a good trade by Chicago and what he brings to the Bears defense. Chase Young was traded to the San Francisco 49ers for a 2024-3rd Round Pick in what JT views as the most shocking move of the NFL Trade Deadline. JT breaks down why the 49ers got a steal in Chase Young and how he'll impact the 49ers defense. The Arizona Cardinals have traded QB Joshua Dobbs and a 2024-7th Round pick to the Minnesota Vikings for 2024-6th Round Pick. JT analyzes what Joshua Dobbs brings to the Vikings and if he's good enough to lead Minnesota to the playoffs. Missouri has been one of College Football's most surprising teams with a 7-1 record and the opportunity to potentially take control of the SEC East if they can take down Georgia on the road. Despite losing star TE Brock Bowers, the Bulldogs had no problem taking care of Florida and look to remain unbeaten on the year. JT gives his thoughts on if Missouri has what it takes to upset Georgia in Anthens and if they can hand the Bulldogs their first loss of the season. Washington vs USC is the biggest matchup in the PAC-12 this week. The Huskies despite being undefeated have struggled with Arizona State and Stanford since their big win against Oregon. Meanwhile, USC nearly lost to Cal last week as their defense has been a liability all season. Despite the Trojans struggles on both sides of the ball, JT still has a lot of confidence in QB Caleb Williams and gives his reasons why Washington could suffer their first setback of the season to USC. LSU stunned the Crimson Tide last year in overtime 32-31 thanks to Jayden Daniels game tying touchdown run. Alabama at 7-1 looks to get revenge on LSU as they look to remain in control of the SEC West. JT gives breaks down and gives his prediction for LSU vs Alabama. The Sooners look to bounce back after losing their first game of the season to Kansas last week. Oklahoma will travel to Bedlam to take on their hated rivals Oklahoma State, who's riding a 4 game win streak. With another loss, Oklahoma could see their playoff hopes fade. Will Oklahoma State end the Sooners playoff dreams? JT gives his thoughts on Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State. Colorado has gone 1-4 after their hot 3-0 start recently losing 28-16 to UCLA. Oregon State looks to get back on track after shocking loss to Arizona. Can the Buffs find a way to keep Shedeur Sanders up right after giving up 7 sacks against the Bruins? Or will the Beavers roll Coach Prime and the Buffs? Dolphins vs Chiefs is one of the NFL's biggest Week 9 matchups. The Chiefs at 6-2 look to bounce back after a shocking loss to to the Broncos, while JT feels the Dolphins have a lot to prove in this game having yet to beat an elite team this season. Can Tua Tagovailoa lead the Dolphins to a big win over Kansas City? JT Sports gives his thoughts on Dolphins vs Chiefs. The Seattle Seahawks take on the Baltimore Ravens in an epic clash between two of the top teams in their respective conferences. Lamar Jackson looks to continue to build up his MVP campaign with a statement win over a stingy Seahawks defense while Geno Smith looks to find more consistency after a shaky performance during the first half of this NFL season. JT Sports gives his thoughts on Seahawks vs Ravens. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jtsports/support

On a special Tuesday afternoon NFL trade deadline edition of Daily Delivery, host Michael Rand is joined by Star Tribune columnist La Velle E. Neal III to break down two interesting Vikings moves -- most notably the acquisition of quarterback Joshua Dobbs. How soon (if at all) could Dobbs play? Neal and Rand have different opinions on that, but both are intrigued by his mobility and rushing success this season. The trade shows the Vikings are at least giving themselves options in the wake of Kirk Cousins' season-ending injury. Plus the sixth-round pick it took to get Dobbs was immediately recouped when the Vikings traded offensive lineman Ezra Cleveland to Jacksonville.
