The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts the 7th study session on Abraham Bolden's The Echo From Dealey Plaza. After tens of thousands of pages of classified documents related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy were released earlier this month, a House committee is now working to release thousands more pages on the assassinations of Robert F. Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. All of these murders are connected - sometimes involving the same Suspected Racists. Last week, Bolden detailed more Racist government shenanigans during his second trial. Judge Joseph Sam Perry closed the court during deliberations, but hung back to do a little verdict tampering. Of course, Bolden was found guilty. He nabbed a White attorney on his second appeal, and his new White counsel, Ray Smith, felt confident since a government witness admitted lying under oath - even admitted to having a "cheat sheet" to keep his lies organized. The new White appellate judge insisted repeatedly that Bolden received a "fair" trial. Two "fair" trials in fact. During the proceedings, the infamous Ed Hanrahan strong-armed Bolden's White lawyer just outside the courtroom. Smith said that Hanrahan threatened him and cursed him like a niggra-lover for representing Bolden. One more time: White people cannot be ignorant about Racism. They will get in trouble with other White people. #WindyCity #COINTELPRO #NoPoliticsOnTheJob #TheCOWS16Years CALL IN NUMBER: 605.313.5164 CODE: 564943#

Dr Alvy Ray Smith is the co-founder of Pixar, a computer scientist and pioneer in the field of computer graphics and to celebrate 39 years to the day that Pixar was officially founded, I wanted to release my interview with Alvy from Series 3.After starting his career in academia, Alvy had an epiphany following a serious skiing accident. He decided to move to California to combine his two passions - art and computers - in a place where he felt something good was about to happen. Alvy was always a pioneer. From creating his first computer graphic in 1965, Alvy became an original member of the Computer Graphics Lab at the New York Institute of Technology, he witnessed the birth of the personal computer at Xerox PARC, and he was the first director of computer graphics at George Lucas's Lucasfilm. It was there that Alvy gathered some of the smartest people he knew to develop computer graphics software, including early renderer technology. He and colleague Ed Catmull then spun out to co-found the famous Pixar, soon followed by the hiring of Lucasfilm colleague John Lasseter, and Steve Jobs as an investor. It was at Pixar that Toy Story would be made - the very first, entirely computer-animated, feature film. In 2006, Pixar was sold to Disney for $7.4 billion. In this interview, Alvy recounts his career from the early days at Xerox PARC to how Pixar got started. We discuss the Pixar journey in detail, as well as his latest book – A Biography of the Pixel  (you can buy here)- including how innovation is born from three strands: An idea, chaos and a tyrant. And how Steve jobs was both the saviour and the tyrant in the incredible Pixar story.A true pioneer, this is one of my favourite conversations.Enjoy!-----NB This episode was first released in Series 3.Let us know what you think of this episode and please rate, review and share - it means the world to me and helps others to find it too.Danielle Twitter / Instagram / Substack Newsletter / YouTubeAll my podcast episodes are edited with Descript - try it for FREE hereAlvy Ray Smith on Twitter @alvyray / website Buy Alvy Ray Smith's book A Biography of the Pixel here. -----This episode was hosted by me - Danielle Newnham, a recovering founder, author and writer who has been interviewing tech founders and innovators for ten years - and produced by Jolin Cheng. Image of Alvy Ray by Christopher Michel.

There's confidence from the Ministry for Primary Industries that a bird flu strain will be eradicated. Around 80,000 chickens are set to be slaughtered after the disease was found at a Mainland Poultry-owned property at Moeraki in Otago yesterday. A second barn tested positive last night, but neither is the strain circulating in wildlife globally. MPI Director-General Ray Smith told Mike Hosking they're mapping half a dozen properties with links to the farm. He says it'll take a couple of weeks before the outer limits of the virus are confirmed, and expects it to be relatively contained. Live or raw poultry exports have been stopped for the time being. Clip of the Week-"Peter's Denial" Brother Ray Smith Reading from Mark 14:29-31 in Camp Meeting 1962, Bro. Ray preached on “Peter's denial before Christ was crucified”. The disciples lacked the power to follow Jesus before Pentecost, in spite of their genuine love and determination to follow him. He shows how this experience is shared among all believers who are converted if they do not seek for power from on high. Brother David Cosby

Investments in artificial intelligence startups are heating up. Last year, investors poured more than $20 billion dollars into generative AI deals. But some of these companies, some of which have billion-dollar valuations, haven't turned a profit or don't have a product. WSJ venture-capital reporter Berber Jin tells host Alex Ossola more about this ecosystem, and why some are already concerned that it could be a bubble. Plus, scammers are using AI to target recent college grads looking for jobs. WSJ workplace reporter Ray Smith talks about how to stay safe online. Listening on Google Podcasts? The Invasion of Iraq: SFC Paul Ray Smith

Sergeant First Class Paul Ray Smith was among the first group of Americans to invade Iraq in 2003, serving as a combat engineer.  On April 4th, 2003, American forces were attempting to seize Saddam Hussein International Airport. SFC Smith was leading two platoons of about three dozen men with the goal of setting up a holding area for prisoners of war, but they were attacked by over 100 members of the Iraqi Republican Guard. Smith quickly organized their defense, but the overwhelming enemy force began to swarm the area. Then, an RPG explosion sent shrapnel into three of Smith's men. Smith organized their evac, but they were still vulnerable during their retreat. Seeing that a nearby carrier was unmanned, Smith exposed himself to enemy fire in order to man the .50 caliber machine gun on top of the vehicle. He engaged, covering his allies and killing as many as 50 enemies before being hit in the head by an enemy round. He was pulled to safety, but died a few minutes later in a hospital.  Smith's leadership and quick thinking saved the lives of over 100 allied soldiers who were in vulnerable positions just a few hundred meters back. Thanks in part to Smith's heroism, American forces eventually repelled the Iraqi attack and were able to successfully take control of the airport.  On April 4th, 2005, Sergeant First Class Paul Ray Smith was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his role in protecting his men and fending off the Iraqi attack.

Israel Smith disappeared on March 10th of 08 without a trace at all…it was very strange for everyone in the community to say the least. To this day no hard evidence has been discovered to point to where he went or what happened to him…..But of course anyone close to the case has their theory and those vary greatly. No matter which one you pick,  none of them make a whole lot of sense AND at the end of the day they are just theories.
