Trump's GOP Purge Rolls On as the DNC's 2024 Autopsy Implodes (Audio)

Trump's grip on the Republican Party is no longer theoretical—it's playing out in primaries across the country. Chris and Sean break down a wild week in 2026 politics, from Rep. Thomas Massie's Kentucky primary loss to Brad Raffensperger getting knocked out in Georgia, Trump-backed wins in Indiana state Senate races, and Sen. Bill Cassidy's collapse in Louisiana. What do these races tell us about the modern GOP? Is this just Trump loyalty—or a deeper Republican realignment driven by populism, MAHA, foreign policy, and grassroots frustration with establishment Republicans?  Then the guys turn to Texas, where Trump's endorsement of Ken Paxton in the U.S. Senate race against John Cornyn could either seal a MAGA victory—or make the general election much more expensive and unpredictable for Republicans.  Meanwhile, Democrats finally released their long-delayed 2024 election autopsy—and immediately tried to distance themselves from it. The report warns that Democrats lost ground with men, non-college voters, rural voters, and irregular voters, but the DNC's reaction may say even more than the report itself. Are Democrats serious about learning from 2024, or are they still avoiding the hard truths?  Plus, Chris and Sean bring it home to Arizona with the increasingly nasty AZ-01 GOP primary, where Joseph Chaplik's attack on Jay Feely over Feely's work helping Haitian men come to the U.S. sparked a major firestorm in one of the most competitive congressional districts in America.  From Trump endorsements and GOP primary wars to the DNC's messaging crisis and Arizona's toss-up House battleground, this episode of Light Beer Dark Money covers the fights shaping 2026—and the bigger political realignment heading into 2028.  #LightBeerDarkMoney #Trump #GOPPrimary #DNC #2026Midterms #KenPaxton #JohnCornyn #ThomasMassie #BillCassidy #BradRaffensperger #MAHA #ArizonaPolitics #AZ01 #JayFeely #RepublicanPrimary #Democrats #StarWorldwideNetworks #PrattMarketingAgency  Subscribe for weekly conversations on Faith, Freedom & Free Enterprise with Sean Noble and Chris Clements. CannCon and Ashe in America open Wednesday with a show packed with Georgia and Kentucky primary fallout. Brad Raffensperger, Gabriel Sterling, and Chris Carr all fail to make the runoff in the Georgia governor's race, which Ashe frames as three people who are going to need the time back to prepare their criminal defense. Ed Galleran defeats Thomas Massey in Kentucky with $15 million from AIPAC and a victory party of roughly 30 people. CannCon reads Massey's full legislative record dating back to Trump's inauguration and challenges anyone to explain which bill on that list they disagree with. Ashe makes the principled point that emotional investment in any of these races is exactly how people get rug-pulled. Multiple primaries going to runoffs are already producing calls for ranked choice voting from both DSA and libertarian factions, and Ashe breaks down why it is the next layer of election opacity being added to an already unverifiable system. The Maritime Cybersecurity Act would bar Chinese components from ports and grid infrastructure, which CannCon and Ashe point out explicitly does not include voting machines despite election systems being defined as critical infrastructure. Trump endorses Ken Paxton for Texas Senate and primaries Cornyn. South Carolina passes a new 7-0 congressional map.

Massie vs Trump. San Diego Mosque Attackers Murder 3. LIRR Strike Deal. Another Buffalo Heartbreaker. Wemby Dazzles.  It's Tuesday, May 19th — a huge primary day in Idaho, Kentucky, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Alabama — and 3,557,000 independent Americans are being locked out of the elections deciding their representation. Paul Rieckhoff runs a solo briefing on the closed-primary problem nobody in the rigged two-party system wants to talk about: taxpayer-funded elections, run in public schools by public poll workers, that exclude anyone who refuses to put on a jersey. With 93% of House races and 80% of Senate races already decided by primaries, this isn't a procedural quirk — it's a structural assault on representative democracy. Paul also unpacks the Trump-versus-Tom Massie proxy war in Kentucky, including the Secretary of Defense leaving his post to campaign against a sitting Republican congressman, the Georgia governor's race chaos between Burt Jones and Brad Raffensperger, and Trump's ever-expanding billion-dollar White House construction project that's quietly morphed from a ballroom into something that sounds a lot more like a bunker. He closes with the heroism of Amin Abdullah at the San Diego mosque shooting, a Long Island Railroad strike resolved in workers' favor, and the young helpers showing up across America when it counts. Righteous anger, patriotic hope, and a clear-eyed look at why the independent movement is the only path forward. -WATCH full video of this episode here. -Join IVA and stand up to Trump's Forever Wars. -Learn more about Paul's work to elect a new generation of independent leaders with Independent Veterans of America. -Learn more about American Veterans for Ukraine here. -Remember Independent is an Attitude. -Learn more about The Headstrong Project for Veterans, Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), and Department of Veterans Affairs resources in your area. CannCon and Ashe in America pack a full show without a guest. The DOJ charges four non-citizen resident aliens with illegal voting in New Jersey, and DHS confirms an active investigation into illegal alien voters in Franklin County, Ohio, raising bigger questions about how they got registered in the first place. In Fulton County, Georgia, citizen investigator Jason Fraser exposes 10,000-plus duplicate voter registrations, while a nine-year poll veteran details how unsworn ACLU clerks used personal computers to clear voter records from the eNET system during the 2020 election. Brad Raffensperger refuses to say he made a mistake certifying 2020 in a gubernatorial debate, and then looks down. The Louisiana v. Callais SCOTUS decision effectively kills the expansive use of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act as a racial gerrymandering tool, and the court expedites its remand instead of waiting the typical 32 days, a significant signal heading into the 2026 midterms. The show closes on the DOJ grand jury subpoena demanding personal contact information for every Fulton County 2020 election worker, and Norm Eisen and Abby Lowell's motion to quash it.

Both the Democratic and Republican gubernatorial debates hosted by the Atlanta Press Club on Georgia Public Broadcasting aired Monday evening, and aside from the notable difference between the two hours - substantive policy conversations vs "who can out-Trump the other" - some other notable moments were worth zeroing in on.Former state Senator Jason Esteves took the first hard swipe at the presumptive frontrunner, former Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, over the death of Secoriea Turner during her term. He and Senator Derrick Jackson took aim at former GOP lieutenant governor Geoff Duncan for his role in the state of the state currently, and Mike Thurmond presented a novel approach to tax relief: reducing and/or eliminating the state's income tax - a regressive tax. On the right, it was more "Jones v. Jackson" sniping, often with surrogate assistance from attorney general Chris Carr and even secretary of state Brad Raffensperger weighing in on both. The bombshell of the night came as the billionaire Rick Jackson found himself unable to refute their being undocumented people hired on his behalf, which Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones pounced on - unable to resist using the slur "illegals," of course. With me to discuss it all is Atlanta-based political consultant Andrew Heaton.

CTL Script/ Top Stories of September 19th Publish Date: September 19th   Pre-Roll: From the Ingles Studio Welcome to the Award-Winning Cherokee Tribune Ledger Podcast  Today is Friday, September 19th and Happy Birthday to Duke Snider I’m Peyton Spurlock and here are the stories Cherokee is talking about, presented by Times Journal Health department bringing drive-thru flu shots to Woodstock Holly Springs postpones vote on city hall to October Cherokee County seeks state lawmakers’ support in lawsuit Plus, Leah McGrath from Ingles Markets on sweet tooth We’ll have all this and more coming up on the Cherokee Tribune-Ledger Podcast, and if you’re looking for Community news, we encourage you to listen and subscribe!  Commercial: Ingles Markets 4 STORY 1: Health department bringing drive-thru flu shots to Woodstock   The Cherokee County Health Department is bringing back its Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic on Oct. 7, and honestly, what’s better than getting your flu shot without leaving your car? From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Woodstock Health Center (7545 North Main St., Suite 100), residents 18 and older can roll up, roll down their window, and roll out vaccinated. Got insurance? Most plans cover it. If not, it’s $25 for the regular shot or $65 for the high-dose version (for those 65+). Bonus: It’s not just about flu season—it’s also a practice run for emergency preparedness. Stay healthy, stay ready. STORY 2: Holly Springs postpones vote on city hall to October   Holly Springs leaders are gearing up for a big decision in October—whether to greenlight a $21.7 million contract to build the city’s new town hall. At the Sept. 15 meeting, Mayor Ryan Shirley asked the council to hit pause on the vote, giving the city time to update the Town Center Project’s master budget. The delay? Necessary, Shirley said, to account for rising costs—think a basement addition, market volatility, and a more intricate design than originally planned. The council will revisit the contract on Oct. 6, with Gilbane Building Company lined up for construction. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. STORY 3: Cherokee County seeks state lawmakers’ support in lawsuit  Cherokee County is turning up the heat in its fight with Holly Springs over a controversial annexation. On Sept. 16, the county commissioners unanimously passed a resolution asking state lawmakers to back their lawsuit against the city and to help fix what they see as flaws in the state’s land dispute process. Commissioner Richard Weatherby didn’t hold back, calling Holly Springs’ annexation of 301 Lower Union Hill Road “in conflict” with the General Assembly’s directives. Chairman Harry Johnston added that some legislators have offered to help, though what that looks like is still unclear. The lawsuit stems from Holly Springs’ August approval of a 20-acre mixed-use development in Hickory Flat—despite vocal opposition from residents. The county claims the city ignored annexation laws and overstepped agreed-upon growth boundaries (though those boundaries were more of a “handshake deal” than a legal agreement). For now, the court has paused the annexation while the lawsuit plays out. We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. Call 770.874.3200 for more info.    We’ll be right back. Break: TRUCK A PALOOZA STORY 4: Man sentenced to prison for arson at Woodstock nail salon  A Gwinnett County man who admitted to setting fire to a Woodstock nail salon will spend three years in prison and faces deportation afterward, according to the Cherokee County District Attorney’s Office. Cang Thanh Luu, 48, pleaded guilty to arson and criminal damage charges for the January 2021 fire at Nick’s Nails on Highway 92. Surveillance footage showed Luu buying gloves, carrying a gas can into the salon, and leaving just as the fire alarm blared. Investigators found multiple fire origins, burn patterns, and a gas can nozzle at the scene. Judge Jennifer Davis sentenced Luu to five years—three in prison, two on probation—and ordered him to pay $382,589 in restitution. Authorities suspect the fire was financially motivated, tied to the salon’s owner. STORY 5: Georgia elections chief running for governor  Brad Raffensperger is eyeing the governor’s mansion, following the same path Brian Kemp took from Georgia secretary of state to the state’s top office. Raffensperger officially jumped into the Republican primary Wednesday, leaning on a platform of jobs, lower taxes, immigration crackdowns, and the usual GOP staples—guns, God, and a hard stance against “woke” culture. But here’s the twist: Raffensperger is still battling the shadow of 2020. His refusal to back Trump’s election fraud claims earned him Trump’s ire—and now he’s up against Trump-endorsed Lt. Gov. Burt Jones. The GOP primary is shaping up to be a showdown, with Trump’s influence looming large. Meanwhile, Democrats are fielding a crowded lineup, including Keisha Lance Bottoms, Michael Thurmond, and even former Republican Geoff Duncan, who’s now running as a Democrat on an anti-Trump platform. Raffensperger, a businessman-turned-politician, says he’s ready to build on Kemp’s legacy—taking on the left, “woke” corporations, and criminal immigrants, while pushing for tax reform and school safety. But can he win over a party still dominated by Trump’s base? That’s the million-dollar question. And now here is Leah McGrath from Ingles Markets on sweet tooth Commercial: We’ll have closing comments after this.   COMMERCIAL: Ingles Markets 4   SIGN OFF –   Thanks again for hanging out with us on today’s Cherokee Tribune Ledger Podcast. ICE raid exposes US & GOP shortcomings on immigration policy

All the work (to his credit!) that Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has done to make Georgia a green energy and electric vehicle manufacturing hub are slowly being undone by Trump 2.0 white nationalist tendencies. The recent Hyundai raid in southeast Georgia performed by ICE was launched to snag Latin American migrant workers but also - oops - ensnared Korean and Japanese visa waiver employees, putting strain on U.S.-Korean and Georgia-Korean relations. It also creates an unnecessary impediment towards completing the construction of the plant soon to hire 8000 Georgians. You know ICE wasn't prepared to deal with Koreans when you realize they had not one Korean interpreter among them. But here's the thing: among the few dozen Hispanic construction workers that were swept up, some may have legal status and the others appear to be hires of quickly-popped up LLCs who appeared days before or after the announcement of the plant's construction, leaving local contractors receiving far less of the economic impact they were expecting. Through it all, though, the currency of choice for Trump 2.0 - fear and intimidation - has people here legally, as well, cowering. ------Brad Raffensperger hasn't announced what his 2026 political aspirations are, but his former chief operating officer - Gabriel Sterling - has. So far, no Democrat has announced their intention to seek the office of Secretary of State as Sterling and two other Democrats have, and it's my view that it may not matter if the party fielded a candidate at all but someone needs to step up quickly and start making the case. Raffensperger, meanwhile, has made it clear he's running for something, that "something" likely the governor's office, which presents an interesting and tantalizing opportunity for Democrats to cross lines and vote for the far lesser of the batch of evils in the GOP gubernatorial race - if Democrats manage to have a clear favorite by primary election day.-------The decision by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution to shutter its print operations by the end of the year is unsurprising, but has me concerned about access for the poor, but also got me to talking about the trajectory even radio is headed towards - which might not necessarily be a bad thing given talk radio being mostly gripped by right wing extremism. Indulge me, if you will, while I also take the opportunity to tout what this show does and plans for the station it airs on out of Atlanta.

I've hosted this show - for what is just six weeks shy of three years - on AmericaOne Radio. To let you behind the curtain a little, I and its owner wanted to be candid about its current and future. In essence, Jeremy reached out to me last week to tell me he was going to close up shop. AmericaOne has been a labor of love/passion for Jeremy and less about making money. In fact, it's cost him. For that reason and with the general fatigue many are feeling after last November, and because he has a full-time job and other ventures he'd like to focus on, AmericaOne is likely to disappear.Sort of. There's the potential for new ownership and that may bring changes - but good changes - to the outlet. So much is up in the air, but I felt it right to let AOR's and TRS's listeners know everything that's on the table. With that, onto show material:The open theft of our right to cast votes for 'regime change'Donald Trump knows enough about U.S. history to know Presidents and their party usually lose the House in the next election cycle, and both his and generic polls show that to be likely in 2026, as well. To offset that possibility, of course, he and Vice President J.D. Vance are working the phones and executive branch airline budget to get red states to mid-decade gerrymander. MAGA memes, of course, misinform their voting bloc howling indignation at states like Delaware and Vermont gerrymander (when in fact, they have only one House seat), adding in states like Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island, which have two. Uhm, how do you afford House representation to 40% of those states fairly with only two House seats, math wizzes? Context is everything, and that's what I'm here. Hi, Democrats; this is where you bring up (as Texas Rep. James Talarico has) that no Republican voted with Democrats on a House measure to make gerrymandering illegal and that the Trump-packed Supreme Court didn't address it when it could, either. Or, that uncapping The House, by the way would address their howling about these smaller blue states lacking representation for those poor-poor minorities of Republicans. That, incidentally, contributes to fixing the Electoral College, SO USE THIS MOMENT TO DO SOMETHING.Now, Trump wants to eliminate mail-in voting (the Constitution prohibits him from doing so but when's that stopped him, before?) It's par for the course, though: Republicans are all about making it more difficult for law-abiding legal voters to vote. High turnouts almost always mean "GOP losses." So they have to suppress. Even 'hero' Brad Raffensperger, the Georgia Secretary of State who stood up to Trump in 2020, whiffed when given the chance to speak against Trump's latest attempt to rig voting. Patricia Murphy at the Atlanta Journal Constitution, however, wrote, that there's a movement afoot to make it as easy to vote as it is to order your lunch on Door Dash. That's right: using your mobile device. Murphy informs that The Mobile Voting Project's Bradley Tusk's recent TED Talk illuminates the argument for what would be a massive expansion of voter participation opportunity. We can predict where the pushback will come from, though, right?

Georgia's back in play, and this time it's John Ossoff's seat on the line. Everyone remembers how both Senate seats flipped blue in 2020, arguably the biggest down-ballot upset of that cycle. Now Ossoff is up for re-election, and while a lot of people in Democratic circles have high hopes for him, I'm not one of them. I think he's competent, but in a low-turnout election, he's vulnerable — especially against a Republican who can straddle the MAGA base and suburban swing voters. And the one guy who could have done that with ease? Brian Kemp. But Kemp says he's out. That opens the door to speculation — and apparently, to Derek Dooley. I didn't believe it at first. Dooley is a football coach. He's never held elected office, never coached a team in Georgia, and hasn't been politically active in any public sense. But people in Kemp's orbit kept saying his name. Supposedly, he's a close family friend. That's fine. It just doesn't make him Senate material. Especially not in a race where Georgia Republicans need a serious contender to take out an incumbent Democrat.Meanwhile, Buddy Carter and Mike Collins have both declared. Of the two, Collins has more momentum. People I talk to say Kemp World isn't enthusiastic about rallying behind Dooley, and they're not thrilled about having to realign with someone new. Collins could benefit from that vacuum — especially if he secures Trump's endorsement. And if Kemp doesn't step back in or offer a viable replacement, Collins may very well end up the nominee. The tension between Trump and Kemp adds another layer. These two have never been close — their feud goes back to Georgia's certification of the 2020 election and the high-profile primaries that followed. Trump tried to run challengers against both Kemp and Brad Raffensperger, and they destroyed them. So if Trump goes all-in on Collins, and Kemp World is still wandering around trying to sell people on Dooley, it's going to be a messy primary. But let's game it out. If Dooley fizzles and Collins gets hot, then by the fall, we might be looking at Mike Collins versus Jon Ossoff in a high-stakes Senate race. Collins will make Ossoff answer for the border, for crime, and for culture war issues like trans athletes — all while wrapping himself in the Lake and Riley Act. That law, named after a murder victim killed by an undocumented immigrant, is going to be the core of his messaging. It's brutal. It's effective. And it could work.Still, there's one wild card left: Brian Kemp himself. He made his announcement back in April, but if the economy is strong and the polling is tight come Thanksgiving, could he reconsider? Stranger things have happened. And Kemp is the only Republican in Georgia with a proven statewide machine, broad appeal, and a serious shot at clearing the field. If he's still lurking in the background, this race isn't over. In fact, it hasn't even started.Chapters00:00:00 - Intro00:03:40 - Georgia Senate Race00:20:32 - Update00:20:54 - Kamala Harris00:24:06 - South Korea Trade Deal00:26:24 - Trump's White House Ballroom00:28:07 - Interview with Josh Jennings01:18:15 - Wrap-up This is a public episode. Join Dave Roberts and Ken Pullin for Episode 379 of Let Me Tell You Why You Wrong, where they blend backyard reality with political insider drama. They open with life in Pike County under blistering summer skies—Ken's just marked his 22nd wedding anniversary while juggling his daughter's  Georgia Tech orientation (an $85 registration fee!) and the sticker shock of a $700 parking pass (Uber to the rescue, maybe). From there they steer into Atlanta's frenzy—$400-plus tickets to the MLB All-Star Game, Beyoncé's surprise country-music stop, and a preview of Whiskey Myers in Macon—before diving headlong into Georgia's next big showdown. Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones finally threw his hat into the governor's ring after the filing deadline, self-funding a $10 million launch video that features a surprise walk-on by Donald Trump and fond memories of his days kicking around the Bulldog football field. Dave and Ken unpack Jones's platform—abolishing the state income tax, fighting fentanyl, barring trans girls from girls' sports, and ending movie-industry tax credits—and compare it to Attorney General Chris Carr's $3.5 million war chest, the ever-teasing Marjorie Taylor Greene, and other potential contenders like Brad Raffensperger and Mike Collins. No Georgia episode would be complete without scandal, and this week the Frost family of Newnan steals the spotlight. Once major Republican donors, Brandt Frost 4 and his son Brandt Frost 5 now face an SEC civil suit accusing them of fleecing roughly 300 investors out of $140 million through their “Patriot Funds/Dollars” program, promising implausible 12–18% returns on risky loans while allegedly funneling $19 million into their own pockets (including a $320 000 rental home) and dumping $570 000 into political contributions.  They round out the show with a look at federal policy and public-health alarms: DHS's sudden end to the 19-year shoe-removal rule, Pam Bondi's flip-flop on the Epstein “no list,” an “activist judge” stay blocking Planned Parenthood defunding, and the routine—but controversial—purge of 478 000 Georgia voter-registration records. On the home front, one in three U.S. teens now carries pre-diabetes, a Delta A330's engine failure led to a 30-hour layover in the Azores, and Washington County's DUI cover-up—where private hires of a certain public defender triggered wholesale dismissals—remains a cautionary tale. Unfiltered, unapologetic, and undeniably Georgia, it's another roller-coaster hour with Dave and Ken.

Ah, Friday! What a great way to kick off the weekend. Even one we know will likely be kind of stressful! But longtime friend-of-the-show Ian Reifowitz has an abundance of (appropriately tempered) optimism to share with you! Starting with early voting information, which we can get away with because Greg wasn't here. But you don't have to just take his word for it. You can take his word for the fact that someone else's word says there's reason for optimism. There's a new sequel to “economic anxiety” coming out. People may be wrong about what's happening, why, and what to do about it. But they've each got a vote. Leon Musk's voter “lottery” is probably illegal, the DOJ says. But “Who gives a crap about the law?”, Musk says. You know who else doesn't give a crap about the law, but does not look like a deflating basketball? Jared Kushner! Isn't that guy basically a paid agent of Saudish Arabia? Brad Raffensperger says there won't be any non-citizens voting in Georgia this time. And yet, this will make Donald Trump even madder at him. Remember that optimism Ian left us with? Let's destroy it! Trump's path to cheating his way back into the White House is narrower than ever, but are there armed weirdos out there who are crazy enough to try it? Sure. Welcome to would-be-Mogadishu, North Carolina.

Donald Trump may face a crucial turn in his criminal case in Georgia following a development that could see District Attorney Fani Willis disqualified from his election proceedings. This new development throws a major twist into what could contribute to an already tumultuous chapter in Trump's post-presidency life. Fani Willis has been a key figure in the pursuit of justice since allegations of election fraud surfaced in Georgia following the 2020 American Presidential elections. However, this new development can potentially throw Trump's legal affairs into a tailspin. If Willis is indeed disqualified, the ensuing legal complexities could significantly hinder progress on the case. The fallout from the state's high-stakes election has continued to intensify. Claims of fraudulent voting were made. Trump refused to accept his loss to Democrat Joe Biden, with the former standing by unfounded allegations of widespread voting fraud. Such claims have given way to a range of legal challenges, with Fani Willis at the helm.Willis has been instrumental in closely examining Trump's behavior in Georgia following the election. This includes a phone call with Georgia's Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, in which Trump seemingly pressured him to "find" additional votes that would tip the election in his favor. If Willis becomes disqualified, it could mean a major reshuffle of the legal team seeking answers into possible election offenses made by Trump.A disqualification of Willis could potentially cause the case to lag, providing Trump's defense team with an opportunity to regroup and restructure their defense strategy. Hence, delivering potential tactical changes. Interestingly, this drama is unfolding while another figure, Jack Smith, is steadily gaining media attention. Smith, an investigator with the DeKalb County District's Attorney's Office, has been probing into the matter and gaining a reputation as a steadfast seeker of truth. With his solid investigative history, Smith is devoted to helping ensure that justice will be served, despite any resulting turmoil from Willis' potential disqualification. His involvement in the Trump investigation underscores his commitment to his role and resolution in presenting verifiable facts. In summary, the potential disqualification of District Attorney Fani Willis from Trump's criminal case stands to introduce further complications to an already tangled web of legal issues. Meanwhile, individuals like Jack Smith are on standby, readily focusing their abilities on unraveling this complex, high-stakes affair. As we continue to watch developments unfold in Georgia, the question remains: What will this mean for Trump's criminal case and his claim of election fraud?

Normies are all still talking about Arlington. Good! The journalists, of course, are anxious to move on to the burgeoning scandal of Kamala Harris sitting down for an interview with CNN. Clearly there's something wrong with this! At a minimum, they'd have to make sure Trump retains an advantage in his grading curve. Governor Moderate Vest's flagship public university may be going the way of Meatball Ron. Brad Raffensperger and Brian Kemp wouldn't do Trump's bidding last time around. But will nuisance lawsuits and new rules adopted by MAGA officials clear the way to change their minds, or harden their resolve? Amazingly, it might actually be the latter! Don't get the wrong idea, though! MAGA Gop loons in other “red” states are still intent on running wild. And Rosalyn MacGregor reports that things haven't settled down crazy-wise in Michigan, either, where the weirdos are on a swatting tear. And with just 19 days left before Trump's still-scheduled sentencing in New York, Liberal Thinking has done some… liberal thinking about how that could and should go.

In this episode of "Hawk Droppings," our host Hawk goes on an impassioned rant about the upcoming 2024 election that's hotter than Rudy Giuliani's infamous COVID-spreading fart cloud. Hawk dives into the shenanigans of election denial groups, new voting laws, and Republican efforts to "ensure election integrity" (wink wink) with all the subtlety of a bull in a ballot box shop. Our fearless podcaster takes us on a whirlwind tour of swing states, red states, and blue states, painting a picture so vivid you'd think he was using hair dye that runs down the side of his face. He's particularly fixated on turning Texas bluer than a Smurf eating blueberries, fantasizing about it like it's the political equivalent of winning the Powerball lottery.By the end, Hawk is more fired up than a Fourth of July fireworks display, encouraging listeners to get involved in the election process. Just remember, if you do get arrested while following his advice, don't talk to the police - sage wisdom from a man who clearly knows how to keep things light and breezy when discussing the potential downfall of democracy. Brad Raffensperger, who holds the usually low-profile office of secretary of state in Georgia, became famous after he recorded a phone call with Donald Trump. Shortly after the 2020 election, Trump demanded that Georgia officials “find 11,780 votes” so that he could win the state. The recorded phone conversation is a linchpin in the Fulton County racketeering case against Trump. Refusing that demand, Raffensperger—a lifelong Republican—received death threats from enraged Trumpists, and the state senate still wants to investigate him for it. But the politician tells David Remnick that he hasn't lost faith in his party. He believes he can convince election deniers of the fairness of Georgia's methods. And, by the way, that story line on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” about the Georgia crime of giving a person water while they wait in line to vote? Raffensperger has a suggestion for Larry David.
