Who you gonna call? Why, Drew Mollo (from the Splash Pages podcast) that's who! As a lifelong Ghostbusters super-fan, Drew has spent years memorizing Tobin's Spirit Guide and definitely knows how to read a P.K.E. Meter. We ain't afraid of no ghosts, especially when we got Ecto Cooler, NYC Chopped Cheese Sandwiches and a big Twinkie. We talk about the original Ghostbusters, how Sigourney Weaver elevates the film, if Eddie Murphy would've made the movie better. Can any movie take the risks the original Ghostbusters took or is all about the toys?

In Honor and in acknowledgement of Ghostbusters: Afterlife coming out, we did a whole Ghostbusters episode, so if you hate Ghostbusting and Ray Parker, this is not the episode for you. We start with forming the ultimate Ghostbusters team (1:24) The we review Ghostbusters: Afterlife (10:48) we go spoilers (29:17), and trust me we are not biased at all. We let it all hang out like Ray in his Ghost dreams. When a single mother and her two children move to a new town, they soon discover they have a connection to the original Ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind. Ghostbusters '84 (50:56) we review to see if it holds up they way we remember... Spoiler alert, it does. After the members of a team of scientists lose their cushy positions at a university in New York City, they decide to become "ghostbusters" to wage a high-tech battle with the supernatural for money. They stumble upon a gateway to another dimension, a doorway that will release evil upon the city. The Ghostbusters must now save New York from complete destruction. Ghostbusters 2 (01:08:52 or 68:52) is it as sub par as we remember? Did it go the route of wine and Ecto Cooler and became finer with age? After saving New York City from a ghost attack, the Ghostbusters -- a team of spirit exterminators -- is disbanded for demolishing parts of the city during the battle. But when Ghostbuster Peter Venkman learns that spirits have taken an interest in Dana's son, the men launch a rogue ghost-chasing mission. The quest quickly goes awry, landing them in court. But when the ghosts turn on the judge, he issues an order allowing the Ghostbusters to get back to work. Well one of us thinks Ghostbusters 2 is better than Ghostbusters 1 and he will: Make a Case for Ghostbusters 2 over Ghostbusters 1 (01:24:44 or 84:44) Ghostbusters 2016 (01:29:17 or 89:17) is the dark, dare I say the Lawyer version of Tully of the franchise. Just destroyed by everyone, except maybe us? Paranormal researcher Abby Yates and physicist Erin Gilbert are trying to prove that ghosts exist in modern society. When strange apparitions appear in Manhattan, Gilbert and Yates turn to engineer Jillian Holtzmann for help. Also joining the team is Patty Tolan, a lifelong New Yorker who knows the city inside and out. Armed with proton packs and plenty of attitude, the four women prepare for an epic battle as more than 1,000 mischievous ghouls descend on Times Square. Welcome to Episode 25! This episode is all about those weird Gen-X drinks you had growing up in the 80s and 90s. What did YOU have in your lunch box? Ecto Cooler? Crystal Pepsi? Orbitz? Clearly Canadian? After the drinks, we briefly talk about some of our favorite Gen-X sports icons, and Joe talks about running into Mario Lemieux at Sheetz. We end the show with the strange world of selling things online. Thanks for listening! Enjoy!
For Conroy, the topic of Ecto Cooler reminds him of a threatening encounter with a carful of “foaming-at-the-mouth Millenials.” When the premise of Ghostbusters is explained to John, he’s horrified. A telephone call proves that Ecto Cooler, though discontinued, is still popular today…very popular. This episode features a commercial for Moist Pharmaceuticals.
Two video game music podcast hosts are here to talk about the soundtracks from Data East's yesterday….Are you a BAD ENOUGH DUDE to listen all the way through?! Mike and Justin are revisting the glory of Data East's arcade and home offerings, both from the developer themselves, or their affiliated hired developer. You'll hear plenty of time travelling arcade bangers that'll make you want to sink your lips onto the straw of an Ecto Cooler, but save room for chats about nuclear fallout, lyrical goofiness in VGM, and weapons looking like lipstick cases. Presented by Data East, it's time to travel back in time for the good old 80s and mid-90s and rock out with some tubular gaming jams! Thanks so much to Kung Fu Carlito for the info regarding the Capcom Fujitas so we could dig deeper and get more info to clarify some previous Capcom-related follies at the top of the show!
