On n'y arrivera jamais.

How to Build an Elite Team for Your Business Your Batman needs an Alfred Episode 232 (Jackson is based in San Antonio, Texas) In this conversation with Jackson Calame we explore the keys to building a first-class business and the foundational principles for entrepreneurial success." Why first-class service is non-negotiable for thriving businesses. The hidden power of infrastructure and why it's often overlooked by entrepreneurs. How to transition from solopreneur to team leader and scale effectively. The critical role of assembling the right team and identifying visionary traits in business partners. The importance of ethics and authenticity in sustainable business growth. The combine approach to selecting elite talent, inspired by professional sports. Balancing efficiency with customer experience to create raving fans. Why relying solely on automation and AI can be risky without a clear communication strategy. Aligning personal values with business goals to create meaningful success. How intentional messaging and clear communication set businesses apart from competitors. ----- About our guest, Jackson Calame: Jackson teaches visionary entrepreneurs how to unlock sustainable revenue growth and expand their legacy by becoming a Power Brand in their market. 96% of businesses fail within the first 10 years. Jackson teaches businesses, not only how to avoid failure, but how to win, by becoming a true leader in their market. You are invited to attend the Power Launch Webinar. https://go.firstclassbusiness.io/power-launch-webinar ----- Excerpts from this conversation with Jackson Calame: Jackson, let's talk about what first class business does for entrepreneurs that entrepreneurs fail to do for themselves. Where do you start? Absolutely. Well, come out hitting hard and heavy. So our tagline on our website may make a lot of you laugh in a good and appreciative way. It says, Hey, Batman, let us be your Alfred, right? And what does that mean? That means one, we want to work with superheroes, people who are contenders in the market, not pretenders. We also want to come in and provide all of that back end infrastructure that often gets overlooked, maintaining the house, maintaining the balance, making sure that the schedules are operating efficiently, making sure Batman doesn't go out there and die when I was just trying to save the world. There's so many things that need to be done in order to truly help somebody scale and have a proper balance and serve their market and be there for the family and the whole it's a lot so many entrepreneurs either take that for granted on one side, and we've got to stop doing that if we really want to build. Or on the other side, if you're the Batman listening into that right now and you're like, oh my gosh, I need that act on it, you know, start looking for who is going to help you build that really unsexy, boring thing that almost no podcasts talk about, called infrastructure, truly that simple infrastructure ----- First Class business means that we literally cannot provide a second class service. Our clients won't accept it. ----- ----more---- Your Intended Message is the podcast about how you can boost your career and business success by honing your communication skills. We'll examine the aspects of how we communicate one-to-one, one to few and one to many – plus that important conversation, one to self. In these interviews we will explore presentation skills, public speaking, conversation, persuasion, negotiation, sales conversations, marketing, team meetings, social media, branding, self talk and more. I enjoyed chatting with Jackson Calame about the importance of having a clear vision for your business. Here are some key takeaways: Vision Beyond Profits: Jackson emphasizes that a business vision should go beyond just making profits. He talks about creating a balance between personal well-being and professional success and highlights his mission to bridge the economic gap between North and South America. Thriving vs. Surviving: Jackson distinguishes between a survival mentality and a thriving mentality. Instead of just reacting to problems, thriving involves focusing on solutions and being your best self to achieve the best results. Power Branding: Becoming a market leader, or a "power brand," isn't about being better than others but about being the best version of yourself. Jackson shares the importance of having a strong support system, much like Batman has Alfred, to handle the technical details and allow business owners to focus on their strengths. Tools and Mechanics: He advises entrepreneurs to focus less on the specific tools and more on finding the right experts to help build their brand. It's about having the right team in place to support and elevate the business. Language and Mindset: The language we use shapes our mindset. Jackson and Lorraine discuss the power of words and how shifting from controlling language to more empowering language can improve relationships and business outcomes.

Being firmly planted in reality means looking at the hard, scary, and uncertain aspects of life and maintaining a belief that we will prevail despite challenges. Jackson Calame hosts the Vision Pros, a live podcast where he interviews Market Leaders to explore their vision, challenges, and principles of success. He teaches visionary entrepreneurs how to unlock sustainable revenue growth and expand their legacy by becoming a Power Brand in their market. Statistics show that 96% of businesses fail within the first 10 years. Jackson's mission is to guide businesses not only in avoiding failure but in becoming true leaders in their market. He believes that the secret to success lies in addressing our blind spots. The problem arises from over-simplified buzz words such as content marketing, social media, and A.I. as short-term revenue growth hacks—mere get-rich-quick schemes. Methods like branding, organic SEO, online ads, email marketing, digital and traditional marketing, funnel hacking, and automation may not yield long-term success. Simply hiring a "yes man" won't change this. However, embracing the Law of Abundance and the Law of the Harvest, and focusing on serving others, can work in your favor. Hard work is essential, and entrepreneurs and business leaders who genuinely care about their customers understand the value of this approach. Jackson invites those who want to make a positive impact to consider sustainable revenue growth as the solution, as hype and tradition continue to lead to business failures. To achieve true growth, expert guidance is crucial, requiring a focus on customers' needs and desired results, rather than just the minimum budget. Shifting from a "catch-up" culture to a proactive "get ahead" approach demands discipline, but great teams enjoy the process. Jackson emphasizes the importance of aligning your vision and mission to reflect in your sales, support, marketing materials, and processes. Episode 108: H. Jackson Calame & 5 Dysfunctions of a Team: A Leadership Fable by Patrick Lencioni ABOUT JACKSON Jackson teaches visionary entrepreneurs how to unlock sustainable revenue growth and expand their legacy by becoming a Power Brand in their market. 96% of businesses fail within the first 10 years. Jackson teaches businesses, not only how to avoid failure, but how to win, by becoming a true leader in their market. Having worked in, launched, and scaled several successful startups in the b2b industry & SaaS space, servicing thousands of SMBs, Jackson has seen firsthand that even the best operators struggle and often fail. The problem begins with poorly managed growth, due to establishing a weak foundation, which inevitably leads to collapse. Jackson and his teams prepare business owners and executives to bridge their growth gaps. Collectively, we often fill the roles of COO, CMO, or CEO during this transformative process. Your key to success as growth occurs and operations shift, will require that you evolve. Developing an incredible culture, built around a clear vision dedicated to customer satisfaction, must be the focal point of a company's mission in order to ultimately thrive. Most operators think they are prepared for this. The truth is, you aren't. Personal growth will be necessary. Personnel shifts will occur. And in order for everyone to win, a business can only afford to have leaders who pull their own weight, who add value to the mission, not anchors who will hold you back. CONVERSATION HIGHLIGHTS Jackson story as a son of God. "...instead of...honoring or fostering the anger that existed in my dad's home, taking the choice to stand for the values that I learned about virtues from my mom's home." What he learned by convincing his dad to pay child support. The power of representing what you absolutely love. "There are so many ways that we react as leaders rather than allowing our people to step up and guide us." Being a student of life. The power of your impact on other people. The importance of a rally cry in the workplace. "...if I can't feel love in the way that I'm leading, then I need to take a step back." What it means to work in a championship culture. Do you have meetings that reinvigorate you? The MAIN QUESTION underlying my conversation with Jackson is, What lessons are you taking from your past trials and tribulations to instead create value and empowerment for yourself and others moving forward? Link to bioRxiv paper: http://biorxiv.org/cgi/content/short/2023.07.12.548720v1?rss=1 Authors: Nashef, A., Spindle, M. S., Calame, D. J., Person, A. L. Abstract: Cerebellar Purkinje cells (PCs) encode movement kinematics in their population firing rates. Firing rate suppression is hypothesized to disinhibit neurons in the cerebellar nuclei, promoting adaptive movement adjustments. Debates persist, however, about whether a second disinhibitory mechanism, PC simple spike synchrony, is a relevant population code. We addressed this question by relating PC rate and synchrony patterns recorded with high density probes, to mouse reach kinematics. We discovered behavioral correlates of PC synchrony that align with a known causal relationship between activity in cerebellar output. Reach deceleration was positively correlated with both Purkinje firing rate decreases and synchrony, consistent with both mechanisms disinhibiting target neurons, which are known to adjust reach velocity. Direct tests of the contribution of each coding scheme to nuclear firing using dynamic clamp, combining physiological rate and synchrony patterns ex vivo, confirmed that physiological levels of PC simple spike synchrony are highly facilitatory for nuclear firing. These findings suggest that PC firing rate and synchrony collaborate to exert fine control of movement. Copy rights belong to original authors.
