On episode 42 of the Montreal Marketeers podcast, we talk content creation with Oliver Wellington. Oliver always knew that he was going to be an entrepreneur. Upon completing his MBA, he played a pivotal role in creating the content recommendation platform nRelate. At its peak, nRelate was able to generate over 6 billion page views a month. The platform was eventually acquired by Ask.com. Oliver left nRelate in 2015 and founded SpareMin with some of his old business partners. SpareMin is currently focused on growing its video editing web-app Headliner. The app was designed with a simple goal in mind: help audio content creators produce videos that they can share on social media. Check out this week's episode to find out more about Oliver Wellington and Headliner!

Dennis is an idea machine who needs to be reminded that, to see results, he must actually select a few good ideas and execute them fully (maintaining a steady balance between idea generation and idea implementation). A few good marketing ideas applied consistently is all that is needed for him – and for you – to start attracting some clients and generating some cash. In this episode, Kristine helps Dennis refine some ideas for marketing and social media. Wavve, Audiogram and Sparemin Reviewed 6:33 There are tools that you can use to make a snippet of your podcast. These tools turn them into a video file to paste on social sites like Twiter, Facebook, and Instagram. This is not the first tool to be based on sharing audio snippets. Clammr was a tool intended for you to be able to easily create a clip and those clips were then easy to share. Clammr lasted about three years (2014-2017). I had a lot of great press, and was mentioned on a regular basis. Now a year later, other companies have come to fill the void. My scenario: I looked at the services for what I would use. I want four episode each with a different design. Click Here to get a free video on how to use these tools Headliner (Sparemin) This is a free tool that allows you to make a video out of audio. In theory it can transcribe your audio. The few times I tried the transcription, it was pretty awful. It does give you the ability to have more than one image, as well as text. You can easily make a copy of a project and edit it to be new. There is an image search tool so you can find images to use in your video. BE SURE to read the terms of service as one of the services is Getty Images (who will take you to court for using their images if you didn't obtain a license. You can't beat the price (free). There are videos along the way to help you through the learning curve. Audiogram I liked that Audiogram actually gives you a live animated preview of your finished file. You didn't have to compile it and think, "Oh wait, I don't like that." You can see it before you turn it into a video. They have a bunch of premade designs. You have much more control over things like titles and positions of animations. You can even load an existing design from a previous movie to save time. Audiogram also shows your social sites (if you want) at the end of the video. These are not clickable. When you are done creating your video. you can download it or email it to your phone for easy sharing on Instagram. For me to do four videos a month would be $19. I can do two videos for free. Wavve Wavve the most set of elaborate tools. You can drag and drop exactly where you want things to appear. You have more fonts, etc. When you are done you can post your video to Facebook and Twitter right from your account (and like the others send the video to your phone for Instagram). Wavve does give the ability to do a few free videos per month (depending on the length). They have some video tutorials to walk you through the system. If you are looking to make super cool looking graphics, this is the tool. For my scenerio, it would cost $18/month BUDGET CHOICE If you're looking for free, Sparemin/Headliner is free. While not as versatilscenarioll give you something to share. Again for my scenario (4 shows a month, each video with a new design), Audiogram is $19 a month, and Wavve is $18 Different Features Audiogram has the ability to save your design choices and use them over and over. Wavve has the ability to post to Facebook and Twitter right from your Wavve account Sparemin has an image search capability (again, check their TOS) You will see that you can turn these into a giant time suck choosing the right font, the right etc. If you have access to something that makes trackable links (pretty Link for Wordpress) you may want to use a special link with your Audiogram to see if it generates more clicks. The one thing missing (in my opinion) is stats on how many times the file was played. What You Should Do Even If You Don't Use These Services What I like about these services is it makes you think. It makes you ask yourself, "What is THEY key clip that will make people want to hear more? What clip can I create to motivate people to come and listen." What I Didn't Get To Accomplish In Q1 of 2018 18:28 19:36 Bill Hutchison from YWAM podcast (and ywampodcast.net ) wanted to be a bit more consistent (but did get some things done) 21:49 Brad from We Are the Cinema Guys wanted to work on his calls to action 24:25 Sarah from the Podcastcard Academy wants to be a bit more organized (and now is using Asana, Dave loves todoist.com) 26:08 Max from Aviation News Talk meant to contact a conference but hasn't gotten around to it yet (but he will NOW) 27:42 Win Charles from Ask the Win meant to start a new podcast, but she did find an editor. 31:32 Zach from Rasing Rents (as in PArents) needs to get season two going. 35:29 Dave needs to get his inbox under control, and started off the year super focused, but has slid back to old habits. I sat down with comic book creator, Dylan Jacobson, to chat about our mutual love of and for Kevin Smith, podcasting, and being a creative. We discuss how SpareMin is pushing boundaries in the podcasting world before getting into Dylan's origin, including the ups and downs of not just failing, but succeeding. Also discussed is our mutual love of radio / audio dramas, tabletop RPGs, and, of course, his comic series, Champions. Yes, indeed, I remain Marc Hershon, your humble host and all-beef luncheon meat for Epi145, the post-Christmas, mid-Hanukah, pre-New Year's installment of Succotash, the Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. I hope your holidays are being grand and we appreciate you taking us along during through this winter wonderland. Unless you’re in Australia, like our friends Dean Haglund from the Chillpak Hollywood Hour or Jabs from the DHead Factor, because its summer down under. Is there anything more festive than passing the Succotash for the holidays? I think not. This is an installment of Succotash Clips, where we feature snippets from comedy soundcasts from around the internet. The lion’s share of this epi’s clippage comes from our Associate Producer Tyson Saner. I snagged a couple of 'em, but no one sent any clips in this time. You’re always welcome to, BTW, and it’s so easy – just click on over to http://hightail.com/u/Succotash and you can directly upload your 3-5 minute MP3 or WAV soundcast clips to us. Coming up this show we’ll be featuring samples from the aforementioned Chillpak Hollywood Hour, Just In Time, Obsessed with Joseph Scrimshaw, Office Hours Live with Tim Heidecker, Pepper In The Salt Shaker, Talk It Out, and Tokyo Hotel. In addition we have a double dose of our Burst O’ Durst segment with our resident political comedian and social commentator Will Durst. And this episode, as are they all have been since we started, is Henderson’s Pants, which is bringing back their Auld Lang Slacks just in time for the New Year. CATCH ME/US LIVE IN 2017 A couple of places that I’ll be appearing live coming up in the New Year are both connected to the 16th Annual San Francisco Sketchfest, which takes place every January in the city. Over 400 shows and hundreds of venues across town – it’s a great time to be alive and a fan of comedy. Sunday, January 15th, I’ll be moderating a discussion just before the 40th Anniversary screening of Kentucky Fried Movie. That’ll be live, onstage, at the Castro Theatre with director John Landis, and the producers – the Zucker Brothers and Jim Abraham. A week later, on Sunday, January 22nd, we’ll be doing a live episode of Succotash, on stage at Piano Fight in the Tenderloin. Our booth announcer Bill Heywatt will be there, as well as some comedy soundcasts and comedians as well, for 90 minutes of fun-filled…fun. You can find out all the information including ticket prices and locations by visiting http://SFSketchfest.com. NO ONLINE REVIEWS THIS WEEK Because of the holidays, I have no soundcast reviews on either Splitsider.com or Huffington Post this week. Instead, Splitsider asked me to write up a little piece on my “Best Medicine” to chase away the holiday blues – and that’s the movie Time Bandits! Terry Gilliam, the director, just had the whole thing remastered so it looks great and you can catch it streaming online now. A FEW EXTRA SOUNDCASTS OUT THIS WEEK I appear on a trio of soundcasts that dropped this week, so I thought I would provide you with links here. I am the Narrator for the Casa Mirth Christmas Spectacular, featuring a pile of soundcasters from all over the world. I talk about It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World on the Movies Made Me soundcast with Cheryl Jones. And I talk about trademarks and branding with John Klymshyn on his Your StartUp Advisors soundcast as well. Check 'em out! THE CLIPS Chillpak Hollywood HourOne of the drivers for me starting Succotash in the first place, nigh on 6 years ago, was listening to Chillpak Hollywood Hour, helmed then as it is now by those paragons of soundcast royalty, Dean Haglund and Phil Leirness. They are in the midst of their 10th year and just a couple of weeks ago dropped their 500th episode. To commemorate the event, or maybe it was just to do something different, Dean and Phil took a field trip to the historic Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale – a cemetery of legendary proportions. Here’s a little bit of their meanderings. Just In TimeOur Associate Producer Tyson Saner clipped us off a hunk of the Just In Time soundcast and it’s interesting to note that this is one of those shows that is defined a bit by the fact there isn’t a whole lot of information about the hosts, the show itself of anything else that ‘s available to read online. You definitely have to be a listener to know what’s going on with Just In Time. Tyson could glean that one host is named Rookie or sometimes just “Rook”, and another is DJ. Plus there might be a third voice. It seems there may have even been a fourth host at one time. From SoundCloud Tyson got this description: “Small town comedy podcast. Three broke stoners with a hint of geek discuss everything from movies, comics, sports, random everyday life, and embarrassing personal stories. New Episode every Tuesday.” This clip is from Epi54 this past November 15th, and the episode is entitled “Legal Butt Bush In The Middle of the Bio Dome.” Talk It OutAnother Yuletide harvest from Tyson is from Talk It Out, which proclaims itself to be a “Millennial-focused podcast that is entertaining, educational and, at the same time, controversial.” The hosts are Gabby, KT, Joy, and Tuesday, and our clip is from their episode entitled, “Don’t Save Us; We Don’t Wanna Be Saved” You have to just love how Millennials tend to think they’ve pretty much got a lock on everything…and maybe they do. Obsessed with Joseph ScrimshawI’ve reviewed the soundcast Obsessed with Joseph Scrimshaw several times for Splitsider and I may have featured it here on the show once before. The premise is pretty simple - Joseph basically brings on people to talk about a topic that they tend to obsess over. It’s a little like Jackie Kashian’s Dork Forest in that regard. In one of his most recent drops, Joseph and his guests get into the Beatles and Beck, which gets pretty down into the weeds as his guests are already prone to obsessing over minutiae — they’re Pete the Retailer and Alex Robinson, the hosts of the Star Wars Minute soundcast, where each episode is devoted a single minute of the Star Wars films. Pepper In The Salt ShakerTyson snipped us off a piece of a show that’s only been around since October, called Pepper In The Salt Shaker. I’m used to hearing soundcasts from people who don’t want people they work for or their parents knowing what they’re talking about so only go be first names or nicknames. The two hosts of P in the SS, who describe themselves in show notes on SoundCloud as "two new Hoosier millennial dads” go only by their initial D and AP. They refer to their show as a “hastily edited grab-bag of stories, rants and general dick-headery that will make you laugh, cry, and could quite possible make you shit yourself.” Okay. Talk order. See if this chunk has you scrambling for the Wet Wipes… Office Hours Live with Tim HeideckerIf you’re unfamiliar with Tim Heidecker, you realistically have no one to blame by yourself. He’s a comedian, writer, director, actor and a musician. He’s one half of the comedy team of Tim & Eric, with Eric Wareheim. He’s put together a fistful of TV shows and has been in some movies so, naturally, its time to branch into the bastard world of soundcasting. Office Hours Live with Tim Heidecker is pretty fresh. He just takes Skype calls for an hour and a half from anyone who wants to call and asks him questions about pretty much everything. Tokyo HotelInterview shows and yackfests between three or more people are just find as far as soundcasting goes, but I’ve made no secret of the fact that I really can get onboard with some of the great narrative series that have been cropping up during the past couple of years. Something with structure and stories, y’know? SO I am all over this new soundcast called Tokyo Hotel from the Australian Broadcasting Company. It’s 8 episodes that take place at this rundown but formerly grand Los Angeles hotel. Rather than just pull out a scene, we just let the show’s opening intro set it up for you. Yes, it’s me. Marc Hershon. Your host and fully articulated artificial resuscitation dummy for Epi137 of Succotash, the Comedy Podcast Podcast. Or The Comedy Soundcast Soundcast, as the case may be. This time around we bring you an edition of Succotash Chats, featuring my interview with Matt Knudsen — comedian, actor, bon vivant, and host of the Grabbing Lunch podcast. Matt was kind enough to have me and Cole Stratton, co-host of the Pop My Culture podcast, as guests on his show when I was in LA last year. As he was recently playing a Tuesday night here in Northern California, I thought I’d return the favor. A few weeks ago, we grabbed dinner and a chat at the Piazza D’Angelo in Mill Valley before his show. We talk about his early days as a merchant marine before he caught the comedy bug, and some of the acting and other stuff he's been up to since. (We don't talk specifically about any of these, but Matt's appeared recent in such TV shows as The Mindy Project, Rosewood, The League, and Why? With Hannibal Buress.) ALSO THIS EPISODE We’ve got a Burst O’ Durst segment in this episode. I always appreciate political comedian and social commentator Will Durst's segments on the show but especially with this year’s Presidential race being so wonky — and publicly embarrassing for Americans with what we’ve got running on both tickets. We also have a call via the SpareMin app with Reverend John Price, a faithful listener who is on the verge of dropping his own soundcast soon. And this whole mess is brought to you by Henderson's Back To S'cool Pants. Where would this show be without Henderson's Pants? Well, the same place we are, actually, which means we still can use you vigorous use of our Donate button up at our homesite, http://SuccotashShow.com. While you're there, don't be afraid to use the Amazon banner at the top of the page to do you shopping at the world's largest everything store — because we get a little taste of whatever you spend there. And we've got a link on our site to our Succotashery, whould you want to grab a t-shirt, mug or other piece of merch festooned with the Succotash logo! PODCAST VS SOUNDCAST I mentioned last episode, Succotash Clips Epi136, that I’m going to start a movement to replace the name “podcast” with “soundcast”, because why should Apple retain hold of the medium in the name with the vestige of a technology they've basically discontinued?) So I’ve contacted our musical director, Scott Carvey, and asked if he’d be able to retool his portion of our theme song to say “soundcast” instead of “podcast”. And our booth announcer, Bill Heywatt, is getting ready to record new intros and outros for the show that reflect that change as well. It’s likely going to take some time to make the switchover and then will come the long, hard road to getting an entire world to change how they think and talk about the medium but what the heck? I’ve got nothing better to do with my time. And, in fact, our friend Dave-In-The-Cave, former co-host of former podcast Taco Tuesday, is about to start his new show, the Thunder Taco Soundcast. More on the soundcast situation as it unfolds. Until next time, thanks for passing the Succotash! — Marc Hershon
Yes, it’s me. Marc Hershon, your host and drought-resistant shrub for Epi135 of Succotash, the Comedy Podcast Podcast. And this is definitely a succotash of an episode. We’ve got snippets from a bunch of comedy podcasts. And we’ve got a couple of interviews. So we’re going to make this a Succotash Clips n’ Chats show. e7mwxq5u I’ve got a brief chat via the new SpareMin app with Chris Mancini, co-host of the Comedy Film Nerds podcast and co-organizer of the Los Angeles Podcast Festival. We talk a little bit about his Earbuds podcast-oriented documentary, his graphic novel that he just successfully Kickstarted into existence, and Chris and I talk about my upcoming official duties in this year’s 5th edition of the LA Podfest. Chris Mancini Ned Kenney I have a longer chat with Ned Kenney, the brains behind Laughable, a new app that is specifically for and about comedy podcasts. Finding them, listening to them, and learning more about the people behind them. I’ve kind of fallen in love with this app and how easy it is to find and download comedy podcasts, which is my stock in trade. Ned talks about why he came up with the idea and what he’s been through to get the thing up and launched. Podcastwise, on this installment of Succotash, we’ve got clips from Bad Cop, Bad Cop; Horribly Awkward, Irresponsible Mentors, The Naked Porch Podcast, and a long-delayed visit to the Podcast Graveyard where we dig up a show that hasn’t been around for about a year. (Thanks to our Associate Producer Tyson Saner for most of the clips for this week's episode!) In addition, we’ve got a double dose of our Burst O’ Durst segment with political comedian and social commentator Will Durst, a new song and a Succotash tribute from our a capella singing friend Abner Serd, and a dip into the Tweetsack. This episode is brought to you by Henderson's 100% Genuine Dungarees, made from real dung. THE SHOWS Bad Cop, Bad CopThe first clip for this episode is from Bad Cop, Bad Cop, a show I’ve not heard of before — which is becoming the rule rather than the exception it seems, there are SO many comedy podcasts out there — and was uploaded directly to us by a listener. An unidentified listener. He or she says about Bad Cop, Bad Cop: “One of my favorite shows. It’s hard to pin down a small segment of this show but here it is. These two guys have an infectious giggle and have me PMSL each week.” (I suspect the listener is British, as PMSL stands for “piss myself laughing”, which is the English version of ROFL – Rolling On The Floor Laughing.) The co-hosts of the show are named Jerry and Dave — no last names — who, according to the About blurb on their homesite, are “two guys with pretty bad attitudes." Horribly AwkwardNormally I have more information about the podcasts that we get the clips from, but sometimes the podcasters are pretty stingy with putting the facts out on their homesites. Take Horribly Awkward, for instance. It took several links to find out that the name of the host is Shaun Fuller. And I didn’t get the last name until I hopped onto the Laughable app and found that he was a guest on the Three Is Comedy podcast. Here’s his description of Horribly Awkward as it appears on Stitcher: “This is my horribly awkward, guest-driven, improvised, comedy and fun filled podcast. Take a ride with me on this journey with a new guest every week!” Tyson pulled this clip from Shaun’s Epi42 when his guests included Brink and Jesus, the co-hosts of the Horrible Gamerz podcast, Brink’s wife Becca, and Rob from Random Ramblings with Rob. I don’t want to say that parts of Podcastland are getting a little incestuous but…ewww. The Naked Porch PodcastI could have sworn we featured The Naked Porch podcast before but I’ve just been to the Succotash Archives and I just find mentions I made of the show, not any clips at all. So it’s high time, thanks to Tyson, that we rectify that situation. This podcast falls into the “Sittin’ Around And Chewing The Fat” category of podcasts and these three — Chris, Ray, and Danielle — are clearly having a great time without anyone else’s help. The Irresponsible MentorsTyson clipped this next entry from The Irresponsible Mentors podcast – a title I love - but he didn‘t include a lot of intel. And I have to say, after tracking the hosts back through a few sites, there’s not much out there. Here’s what we know: This is from a “minisode” at the end of May called “Comeback Warriors & Unarmed Gorilla Get’s Shot”. By their cartoon logo, one host is Chip T, the other is SQ BZ. Guess you're meant to discover the rest for yourself. Tall Tales & Shaggy DogsRather than my usual wrapup, I wanted to feature a recent episode of Abner Serd’s shortform podcast, Tall Tales & Shaggy Dogs. In an episode entitled, "Faraway places (or, What's it like in Lower Shmorgestan?)". which is a story rather than a song, he ends up giving my wrap-up line himself. Podcast GraveyardThere are SO many podcasts floating around out that, unless you listen to particular ones all the time, you might not even notice when one goes off the radar. Such is the case with The Tobolosky Files. I really enjoyed this show, featuring actor Stephen Tobolosky who, with the help of critic and filmmaker David Chen, would tell stories from his interesting life and unique position of being one of the most legendary modern-day character actors working in film and television. Stephen’s podcast went dark about a year ago, with Epi71 dropping on August 13th, 2015. Here’s a clip from that episode, which was entitled, “If I Know Now What I Knew Then” If you want to help us out on Succotash, please don't be finger-shy when it comes to clicking on our Donate button at http://SuccotashShow.com. And feel free to pass the Succotash just as much as you like. — Marc Hershon
We talk about holy roller internet trolls and Toby’s befuddlement with Christians praying with their arms extended. Also, is there such thing as a stupid prayer request? What about praying for the dead and the ridiculous “unspoken request?” More importantly, we catch up with Dan and Nate from Sherwood to discuss their new record and tour as well as debut a new track from the album. Jason Soto (Cookbook) of the critically acclaimed hip-hop outfit, L.A. Symphony joins the podcast to talk hip-hop, the deconstruction of his former evangelical faith, the ensuing treatment he received from the church, his conviction of authenticity and where he’s at now in his music career. Joey also saw a cat trying to commit suicide and another pastor makes an unnecessary awkward joke to find common ground. Check out Cookbook’s music and hire him to be a coach. Yes, it is I. Marc Hershon, your host and Henry Miller Aeron Desk Chair for Epi133 of Succotash, the Comedy Podcast Podcast. And if you’re having trouble recognizing the voice, that’s because it’s been about THREE damn weeks since I last dropped an installment. Sorry about that. I’ll keep striving to get better about it. I’d be lying if didn’t say a few clicks on the old Donate button up at our homesite, http://SuccotashShow.com, wouldn’t help motivate me. Of if someone besides Henderson’s Pants wanted to help sponsor that show, that would be a bit of all right as well. NEW PODCAST ALERT! I wanted to let listeners who might be in range of Los Angeles, California, on Saturday June 11th, that I will be moderating a very cool event — Dana Carvey’s very first podcast. His OWN podcast, that is, which he’ll be doing with his two sons, Dex, and Tom. You might recall they joined me back in early February for our very first LIVE Succotash show. And they liked the experience so much that the Carveys have decided to bust out their very own show. I don’t know what it’s to be called yet but I was flattered to be asked to be the moderator for the kickoff show on June 11th. And, who knows, maybe if I behave myself, maybe more after that. It’s going to be at the Comedy Lab next to the Improv in West Hollywood and that’s all I know. Not sure whether you can buy advance tickets or what. Best I can suggest until I know more is to keep checking in at http://hollywood.improv.com and click on the link to the calendar. GOT A SPAREMIN? Another thing I have started trying out is using a new app called SpareMin. It allows folks to call other folks back when they want to and with a five minute time limit. So I thought I might be a fun alternative to our Succotash Hotline because, rather than leaving a voicemail, you use the app to send me a request and when I have time to chat, I call you back. The app automatically records the call, which I can then play back right here on the show. So check it out. It’s called SpareMin and you can download it from the Apple app store and I think the version for Android phones is live now, too. WHAT ELSE YOU GOT? Okay. Enough about me. Let’s talk about what I’ve got for YOU. This is a Succotash Clips episode and I have to mainly thank our erstwhile Associate Producer, Tyson Saner, for supplying the bulk of the clips we have on tap for you this time around. We also have one that was submitted by a podcaster by using our upload link, at http://hightail.com/u/Succotash. And even I did a little work in the clip department…but not much. All in all, we’re featuring clips from Awesome Etiquette, Chillpak Hollywood Hour, The Late Show – Tonight’s Watch, Obsessed with Joseph Scrimshaw, Savage Henry, the Schmoozecast, Secret Skin, The Slant, and Wisecrackin’ with Winter. In addition to the clippage we’re featuring a double dose of our celebrated Burst O’ Durst segment with political comedian and social commentator Will Durst. I also have some exciting news about Mr. Durst: He going to be on Succotash! Not just in his usual short, 2-minutes Bursties of Dursties. Oh, no. Our very next installment of Succotash Chats will feature my face-to-face interview with Will that I held a couple of weeks ago in the green room at the storied Punchline Comedy Club in downtown San Francisco. Our own Mr. Saner has also supplied us with one of his amazing pieces of music made up of bits and clips from a podcast, Off Yer Feet featuring Todd Glass along with Nick Thune. And Tyson also supplied us with a brand new instrumental track to play under out Celebration of Thanks coming up near the end of the show. (YOu can check out all of his amazing tunage over at SoundCloud.) This installment of Succotash is brought to you by Henderson's new Beavertail Jeans. CLIPS Chillpak Hollywood HourHard to believe but our friends in podcast — Dean Haglund and Phil Leirness, the hosts of Chillpak Hollywood Hour — just kicked off their 10th year of changing the way you listen to the internet, as well as providing middle to high class entertainment for those with the ears to hear it. I’m happy to announce that sometime during Year 9, our false feud came to an end and so we can, once again, bring you a taste of the Chill… Secret Skin Secret Skin is part of the Infinite Guest network of podcasts, hosted by musician and sometimes comedian Mike Eagle. Mike and his guest usually poke around behind the scenes of the hip-hop world. But recently his guest was comedian Nick Thune, and they got into a lot of topics — why Nick gave up one-liners and his guitar onstage to talk about who Jesus would want to hang out with if he was around today, and embarrassing stories. Nick shares the somewhat disgraceful way he ended his career as a car salesman, and Mike shares a story so embarrassing that, until now, he’s only told four people. And now yo, once you listen. Awesome EtiquetteIt seems like Awesome Etiquette is actually hosted by a couple of folks with some manners in their DNA. Lizzie Post and Daniel Post Senning are with the Emily Post Institute and, for those of you who as so gauche as to not know, Emily Post literately wrote the book on manner and etiquette in 1922. Both hosts don’t have Post in their names by amazing coincidence – it turns out they are the great great grandchildren of the Grand Dame of Manners. The SlantOur next clip comes directly from the podcasters themselves. They uploaded this to us at our direct upload site, at http://hightail.com/u/Succotash and I wish they’d sent a little more background. They have a Libsyn site and a Facebook page and a Twitter account and — don’t get me wrong, The Slant is constantly retweeting our stuff and they are very supportive — but I just don’t know that much about them. I know that the ringleader is someone named Sal. And there’s Lisa, and Ant, and Christine. There may be more, I can’t tell. The Late Show — Tonight’s WatchWhat I love most about podcasting is that pretty much anything goes. And I do mean anything. There's a spin-off podcast from The Late Show with Stephen Cobert called Tonight’s Watch. Hosted by Duncan (and his guest, Maester Text-To-Speech, in this episode), It’s a ostensibly a weekly update about HBO’s Game Of Thrones series but…well, you just have to hear it for yourself. (And it's shouldn't be confused with the actual ToNight's Watch GOT-following podcast…or maybe it should.) Wisecrackin’ With WinterOur Associate Producer has unearthed yet another podcast I’ve never heard of, called Wisecrackin’ With Winter. It features Mike Winter, who, according to the podcast’s About page: …bring decades of entertainment experience, including television, radio, and live performances, in his commentary on topics ranging from: challenges of doing stand-up at Ebola clinics, how to win shot a drinking contest with an Authoritarian Dictator, debating the severity of erectile dysfunction (after athletes abuse steroids for years), to trying to figure out how to re-purpose the thousands of discarded jerseys of disgraced football players. What does that all mean? I’m not sure. The SchmoozecastComedian Barry Weintraub has been working hard to resurrect the Comedy USA name (formerly the title of his national comedy magazine) in several ways. One of those is a comedy podcast called The Schmoozecast. He’s been recording in a sound booth that has been built at Comic Strip Live in New York and recently he had an episode featuring comedian John Mulrooney. John’s a great guy who’s still working today but, when he’s not doing comedy gigs, he works as a patrolman for the Coxsackie Police Department in upstate New York. You can only find episodes of The Schmoozecast at ComedyUSA.com and that’s about it — Barry has yet to master how to get the show up on iTunes. But he will – he’s a very determined fellow. Savage Henry Magazine Radio ProgramThere's a humor magazine in Arcata, which is in Humboldt County, California, called Savage Henry and, once every couple of weeks, the owner/editor Chris Durant puts out a podcast called the Savage Henry Magazine Radio Program. In the show that Tyson snagged this clip from, he’s joined by “special” co-host Matt Redbeard and guest, comedian Dash Kwiatkowski. Obsessed with Joseph ScrimshawGot a note from Sarah Meyer, who does press for the podcast Obsessed with Joseph Scrimshaw. She says “Hi there, Me again! 'Obsessed' put out a special Hamilton episode today — I thought I’d send the press release along since you were so helpful back in March! :) If you wanted to feature a clip on Succotash, or write a review for the Huffington Post, that would be amazing! Thanks so much! Sarah.” Thanks for the note, Sarah! Not sure about HuffPo yet but you got a clip on, featuring host Joseph Scrimshaw and his guests Paul & Storm, and Emma Fyffe… Thanks for reading this blog and (hopefully) listening to the actual podcast. Please take a few moments to rate and review us up on iTunes, and visit our homesite at http://SuccotashShow.com where you can read the blog post that goes with this very episode, buy something from our Succotashery, click our Donate button and give us money, or use the Amazon banner at the top of the page to do your Amazon shopping which helps us out, too.
