Charbone Hydrogen Corp CFO Benoit Veilleux talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about a newly signed non-binding term sheet for a $50 million construction capital facility. This agreement is expected to support the first phase of Charbone's clean hydrogen production rollout across North America, enabling the company to deploy between five and ten projects from its pipeline of sixteen planned sites. Veilleux highlighted that this facility represents a milestone for the company, saying, "That's an amazing use for Charbone, a great milestone that will allow Charbone to execute on 5 to 10 of the first phase of our locations." He emphasized the importance of working with a financing group that believes in Charbone's decentralized production model and clean energy mission. The company intends to install a new electrolyzer every three to six months as part of its deployment strategy. Among the first sites nearing production is the Sorel-Tracy project in Québec, which is expected to come online in approximately two months. A Michigan-based project and others in both Canada and the United States are also advancing. Veilleux noted that the facility will allow Charbone to invest between $5 million and $10 million per project as part of the broader $50 million commitment. Kaja Veilleux has been hunting New England attic treasures for more than 50 years. He once found a copy of the Declaration of Independence sitting on a pile of trash, and he made headlines last year when he stumbled upon a million-dollar portrait gathering dust in an old farmhouse in Maine that may have been painted by the Dutch master Rembrandt. Then there was the time, Veilleux said, he was shown a $50,000 gold coin kicking around in a tool drawer—only to have the well-meaning owner destroy much of its value before he could auction it by using a scouring pad to clean it—and scratch it. “It's like a treasure hunt every day,” Veilleux said with a chuckle. Many people dream of cashing in on some dusty, old heirloom. In October, three sisters from Ohio sold a rare dime for more than half a million dollars. Two years ago, a case of old hockey cards found in a Canadian home sold for more than $3.7 million. Veilleux, 73, helps people sort gems from junk when he appraises furniture, antiques, and art by using his knowledge of what similar items have sold for in the past. Each Tuesday, people bring in their heirlooms and collector's items to Veilleux's office in Thomaston, Maine, to see what they might fetch at auction. The appraisal is free but Veilleux gets a commission if they end up selling the pieces at his Thomaston Place Auction Galleries. Erika Taylor stopped by with two artworks her father had collected in China in the 1940s when he was living there after escaping from Nazi Germany. One depicted a blooming peony and the other a grasshopper. She said Veilleux had given her an initial estimate of up to $30,000 for each of the artworks, based on the photographs she'd shown him. But when Veilleux inspected the artworks closely, he declared they were prints because paint would have permeated the paper. “It's disappointing,” Taylor said. “But he has a lot of experience.” This article was provided by The Associated Press.

Locked On UConn - Daily Podcast on University of Connecticut Huskies Football and Basketball
On today's episode of Locked On UConn, Mark Zanetto, joined by his weekly Friday co-hosts Bobby Wilson and Pete Calin, dive into a loaded lineup as the Huskies prepare for tonight's matchup against Georgia State. Coming off a hard-fought 17-10 victory over Rice, the team is hungry for more, and it's not just about wins—it's about setting a new standard for UConn football. Segment 1: Rice Game Recap - Resilience and Defensive Standouts Mark, Bobby, and Pete break down the gritty win over Rice, highlighting the defense's clutch performance and Durell Robinson's game-changing 68-yard touchdown run. They discuss the Huskies' ability to turn up the intensity in the second half and the leadership shown by linebacker Tui Faumuina-Brown. • Discussion Points:• The importance of Robinson's explosive play in shifting momentum.• Key defensive plays that kept Rice at just 10 points.• Faumuina-Brown's comments about the defense wanting to be among the nation's best and how this mindset is reshaping the team. Segment 2: Georgia State Preview - Key Matchups and Strategy The co-hosts look ahead to the Georgia State matchup, focusing on their new-look team after last season's 35-14 win over UConn. With Pitt transfer Christian Veilleux at quarterback, Georgia State poses a unique challenge, but his susceptibility to interceptions opens opportunities for UConn's defense. • Key Matchups:• How UConn's front seven can apply pressure to disrupt Veilleux's rhythm.• Georgia State's aggressive, turnover-focused defense and how UConn can exploit it.• Potential big-play moments for UConn if they stay patient and disciplined on offense.• Questions for the Co-Hosts:• “How can UConn's defensive schemes capitalize on Veilleux's vulnerability under pressure?”• “What offensive adjustments should we look for to counter Georgia State's aggressive style?” Segment 3: Beyond Bowl Eligibility - Aiming Higher Mark, Bobby, and Pete wrap up the show with a discussion on UConn's changing ambitions. Faumuina-Brown's recent comments reveal that this team isn't just playing for bowl eligibility—they want to be top-tier. This shift speaks volumes about the program's growth under Coach Mora. • Topics Covered:• The significance of Faumuina-Brown's “get-back game” mentality after last year's Georgia State loss.• How UConn's commitment to a higher standard is impacting team culture.• Predictions on whether this renewed focus will be evident on the field tonight.• Final Thoughts:• The co-hosts discuss the bigger picture for UConn football and why merely being bowl-eligible is no longer enough. This team is focused on setting a higher bar and redefining what it means to be a Huskies football fan.

Today on Where Rodeo Meets the Road, we're thrilled to have Océane Veilleux, the 2024 WPRA Resistol Rookie of the Year in barrel racing! Océane's journey to this title has been one of both triumph and resilience. Starting the season strong, she qualified for her first major event at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, even reaching the semi-finals. However, her season took a tough turn when her top horse, Ice Cream, suffered a tendon injury that put him out for three months. Despite this, Océane powered forward, finishing her rookie season with an impressive lead. Hailing from St. Alfred, Quebec, and now studying at Texas A&M-Commerce, Océane has shown dedication, grit, and true rodeo spirit. We can't wait to hear her inspiring story and get a glimpse into what's next for this rising star.

The Florida State Seminoles sit at a perfect 8-0 on the season after their victory over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons this past Saturday. The Seminoles jumped out early before cruising to an easy 41-16 win. This weekend, FSU heads north for a showdown with the Pittsburgh Panthers. It's been a rough season for the Panthers and head coach Pat Narduzzi. After opening the season with a victory, the Panthers have struggled to only one additional win on the season. Heading into Saturday, Pitt stands at a record of 2-6 with a tough four game stretch (including Florida State) to finish the season. Can the Panthers turn their season around on Saturday with a win over the Seminoles? We'll discuss that more with Corey Cohen of the Pitt Talk Network. Each week, as part of our Line of Scrimmage series, we'll be speaking with members of the beat that covers FSU's upcoming opponent, getting all the details from those who know those teams best. Entering this season Pat Narduzzi had compiled a 62-41 record at Pitt, with his worst season being 6-5 in 2020. The Panthers came in as a possible dark horse for the ACC championship game but this season has been far from successful. Phil Jurkovec went from NFL draft prospect just two-three years ago to demotion, the Panthers are 2-6. High level, what has gone wrong for Pitt? Let's focus on the quarterback position (if not covered already). Jurkovec transfers in from Boston College and was rather abysmal with a 50% completion percentage. He was moved to tight end and Christian Veilleux has been behind center since the Louisville game. What happened to Jurkovec and tell the fans what to expect from Veilleux? The backfield is a two-headed monster in C'Bo Flemister and Rodney Hammond Jr. The two backs are pretty close in carries and yards but do they have similar styles on the field? The Panthers have a pair of talented wide receivers in Konata Mumpfield and Bub Means. But for the first time this year, I think FSU is facing a pretty legitimate tight end receiving threat as well in Gavin Bartholomew. How might we see Pitt get these three involved on Saturday? Finally on offense, let's take a look at the line. The big guys have allowed 16 sacks on the season and only allowed the Panther to average 3.5 yards on the ground. It's a young offensive line with four underclass men and one senior. Where has this line struggled and is there an area they've been successful? Flipping over to defense, it's a defensive line that has accounted for 14 of the team's 23 sacks. The Panthers appear to have a decent rotation on the inside with David Green, Deandre Jules and others while Dayon Hayes and freshman Samuel Okunlola are the names to know on the ends. What has allowed this group to have success in the backfield and is there an area teams have found success against this defensive line? Solomon DeShields leads this linebacking corp. On paper, this has shown to be a solid group stats wise and PFF grades wise. How would this group grade so far? Let's jump back to the secondary. Donovan McMillon is the safety that flies over the field making the tackles while Phillip O'Brien and MJ Devonshire have split four interceptions on the season at cornerback. This appears to be a solid group. How will they stack up against Keon Coleman and the talented Seminole receivers? And finally, thoughts on how Saturday plays out Learn more about your ad choices. Phil Jurkovec was benched, moved to tight end (allegedly), and then moved back to quarterback (allegedly). Whatever happened, Christian Veilleux is the new starter and this, at the very least, gives us some reason to be interested in the rest of this season.
