It's true what the forefather of modern medicine said about disease originating in the gut. Following in Hippocrates's footsteps, my podcast guest will be sharing how fixing your gut health can and will help fix any other issues you may have. Dr. Loredana Marzullo Shapson, PharmD, FNTP is the founder of LifeMod Solutions, a holistic health practice in Newtown, PA. She is a pharmacist turned holistic with the mission to empower her patients to know they can heal at any age by providing answers, education and tools to live more naturally in our modern world. Dr. Loredana earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) at Temple University in 2012 and is a pharmacist licensed in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In addition, she is a certified Primal Health Coach (PHC), a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP), a Reiki Level II practitioner, and trained in energy medicine using muscle response testing techniques to analyze neurological reflexes. Whatever you put in your mouth, whether it be a food, a prescription medication, a dietary supplement, a nutraceutical, a herb, you name it, Dr. Loredana has the unique advantage of understanding how it impacts your health. After working in a pharmacy for more than 12 years, Dr. Loredana realized that prescription medications are not the answer to our chronic health problems, rather they act as band-aids, masking symptoms, and ignoring the root cause of illness and dis-ease. Thus, dis-ease continues and progresses, new symptoms arise, and health continues to degrade. Dr. Loredana has dedicated her life to research, continuing education and training, and she has uncovered the leading factors that negatively impact our health. From pain to purpose, she successfully reversed her own health challenges including high blood pressure, weight loss, adrenal fatigue, and recurrent bacterial infections that required multiple rounds of antibiotics.  Dr. Loredana was diagnosed with high blood pressure at 19 years old, and worked through three doctors that chalked it up to hereditary factors, and took 2 prescription medications for over a decade. After uncovering her root causes, which were heavy metal toxicity mercury and aluminum, she learned how to detox her body. EP 18 X KINDNESS AS MEDICINE    “Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind.” ― Henry James   I've always experienced kindness as another worldly energy, and force. I've seen it transform, and I've seen myself soften with it being at my true core. Looking back, I know it was my Mama (who passed in 2003) who instilled this within me deeply as it's what I saw modelled to me.  Now, I see it as a superpower, and I see it as medicinal. Why have we only come to believe that things like medication, doctors, white coats, scans, pills are the key to healing? When & why as this become the norm... What if there are other ways... I believe there are, which is why I do what I do. If EVERYTHING is just energy, and kindness holds a certain frequency, cannot it not be used to help us heal, to shift the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual lessons we have to learn? I literally prescribe kindness & the energy that flows to & from it to people, it's the ebb and flow of our soul, it's the voice that can speak without words.  I explore this + more in today's episode. I could speak for hours on this, and if you let me I will! But I hope this episode gives you nuggets and a pathway to continue to explore your Self, journey, and soul. EPISODE 16 X HEALING TRUTHS X SOLO EPISODE  Today's episode digs into one of my major passions - HEALING. Whenever I speak about healing I'm really referring to the holistic whole - Body, Mind & Spirit, which means when we look at any and all healing, it most often than not encompasses everything. Our relationships, our childhood, finances, purpose, happiness, physical health, environmental, mind, thoughts, emotions, intuition, cells, choices, belief systems, etc... We often (in my eyes *always*) have to take a deeper look within, because if we continue to just heal the surface stuff, either the same lesson continues to present / manifest over and over again in a different mask, or we continue to experience the same symptom, pain, experience and build the belief that we just have to "live with it" and that it's "who we are". This is when the term "chronic" enters into our belief system / world, and while I never act or play in delusion, I truly do believe that we are SO much more powerful than we think we are, and can overcome the energy of "chronic" anything... EPISODE 14 X PATIENCE X SOLO EPISODE  THE DAY YOU PLANT THE SEED, IS NOT THE DAY YOU REAP THE FRUIT   Today let's talk about PATIENCE. It's one of the biggest lessons I've learned on my journey, and one that I'm continuing to practice. It doesn't come easily to most of us as we've been brought up in a world / society that wants instant successes + quick fixes, but it's not the truth of our realities, as that's not how things work, but it's what we expect.
