    78: The Science of Changing Time

    Lisa Broderick earned a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from Duke. She is a Transcendental Meditation (TM) Sidha, attended the Monroe Institute for the exploration of expanded states of consciousness, and studied imagery and dream reading at the American Institute for Mental Imagery with noted author and teacher of Western spirituality Dr. Gerald Epstein for fifteen years. She currently runs a business consultancy based in New York City that helps socially conscious entrepreneurs manifest their creativity and energy. We've all experienced it, those weird episodes where time doesn't pass as normal, usually greatly slowed down because of something we're doing or experiencing, like athletes on the field in the zone.   Up until now, from the perspective of science, most people would say that if it's in your head, it's not real.  But what if you could learn to bring on episodes of controlling time, when and how you wanted them?  What if you could learn to control time, so you had all the time in the world?  This book explains the science of how that may be possible, with practical exercises to show you how. When we stop pretending that time is a real thing, we can access the past and the future at any moment. This state is characterized by certain brainwaves and has been called the zone, flow, and the Now. It is what I call focused perception. In this state, you can time travel anywhere you want: you may find yourself affecting the past, influencing the future, and choosing how you experience the present. In some sense, all personal transformation work is rooted in time. When we master time, we master ourselves. What is the observer effect? What is the quantum eraser? Lisa guides us in an exercise on how to change time (see it typed out below) Slowing time down Bending time for yourself There is another way to experience time Quantum theory or new science of time Pull; the thread on our limited idea of time….everything else unravels Stop pretending that time is a real thing The state of focused perception Master Time- Master Ourselves Practices- fuel your mind, stimulate your brain, insight, and innovation Time travel through your perceptions   CHANGING TIME EXERCISE FOR YOU TO RECORD IN YOUR OWN VOICE: Close your eyes. Inhale through your nose regularly and exhale through the mouth twice as long. Again, inhale through the nose and exhale long, slow, twice as long. Maybe even seeing the air come out of your mouth as white smoke. Inhale again through the nose, and exhale slowly through the mouth, this time seeing the smoke turn into the number 3 in your mind's eye. And with the inhale and exhale see the number 3 dissolve into the number 2. And with the next exhalation, we are seeing the number two dissolve into the number 1 and then again seeing the number 1 turn into a zero. Let's choose something we would really like to create for ourselves. Something that is meaningful and that you want to experience in your life. It could be a new job, a house, a retreat center, a new love, a special group that you feel a sense of belonging in. See it in your mind's eye. Think of it as an experience or a movie that you are living it. Think of how this will benefit everyone. It's a detriment to no-one Think about all the ways this benefits everyone. Now keeping this thought in your mind and living it, the visceral sense of seeing, feeling touching it. Now become aware that it has already happened. Live it. It's accomplished. You're living the fact that the phone rang, the check came, the escrow closed, the people showed up Fully and completely, there's nothing more to do. Feel the satisfaction, the joy…. all of the sensations of this thing you want… it's already happened. Now, don't ponder the details. just live the experience that it's done. It's happened. You can relax, knowing that it is already complete. It doesn't matter how it happened. Live through this for a moment….(pause) Now we are going to invoke our bodies. It's so important because we hold things in our bodies. Imagine amplifying this feeling of certainty out the bottom of your feet, into the earth. It's coming out the bottom, filling the entire earth. Filling it with the certainty that everything you want..., this experience is done. There's nothing more to do.  Now moving outwards… up the top of your head, outwards from your body in every direction, out and up and up and moving into the galaxy, and moving into the universe as large as you can go, higher and higher and higher and now…. Just let the feeling go…. O – Lower trunk, abdomen area from solar plexus to groin. A – Chest cavity, heart, and the body as a whole. E – Throat, upper chest, and head regions. Back of the skull and head regions. If with the aid of our thoughts and imagination we can suffuse our whole body with the vowel sounds, we can restore balance and life to all aspects of it. We can use the vowel sounds as an alternative to music in balancing and stimulating the chakras. Many people excuse themselves from the process of healing through sound, music, or voice by saying they can't play a musical instrument, they can't sing, they can't get to the library to borrow music in the appropriate key, they can't afford a five dollar pitch pipe, they don't know the song “Do, a deer…” or any number of reasons. If they have the capability of TELLING me why they can't employ music and sound techniques for healing, I've still got them. If they can speak, they can balance themselves. Breath is important to the process of toning. Breath refers to that quick intake or gasp of energy that carries an image or thought to the subconscious. All aspects of toning are related to breath. Breath is life. When we become aware of our breathing patterns, we have greater control over them. As we work with toning and become more balanced, our breathing becomes more fluid, healthy, and harmonious. HOW TO TONE The purpose of toning is to restore the vibrational pattern of the body (physical and subtle) to its perfect electro-magnetic field so that our spiritual essence can manifest more fully in our physical environment. Voice belongs to the physical body, but it is the instrument of the spiritual self. Being more than body, we need to learn to use it as a tool for higher consciousness and greater health. Experiment with the toning process. Take the primary vowel sound from your name. Close your eyes and tone the sound slowly. Allow it to find its own volume and length of sound. Initially, don't try and hold it to a particular pitch. Repeat for five to ten minutes. Within this time, it will find its own natural pitch. After a week of this, you will naturally tone the most harmonious pitch. This is effective in helping to develop greater resonance within your own voice. Toning this sound ten to twelve times is balancing to the body and calming to the mind. Work with all of the vowel sounds. Start with the base chakra and tone each sound five to ten times, moving up through each chakra center. Use a pitch pipe and experiment with different pitches for the different vowel sounds. Pay attention to areas in which you have difficulty with the tone or at those points where the voice breaks, cracks or fluctuates. The toning process can be used to heal yourself and to increase self-awareness. As with all healing, relaxation is critical, but the unique aspect of sacred sound is that relaxation occurs as a natural part of the process. You cannot use healing sounds without relieving stress. Pay attention to yourself as you tone. Can you feel the sound in a particular part of the body? What is the effect? Is it comfortable? Agitating? energizing? Determine the feeling as best you can. Do not be discouraged if you can't label it. Toning is a learning process as much as it is a healing process. As you notice the part of the body most strongly affected, think about the chakra associated with that part of the body. As you tone, visualize the chakra growing brighter, stronger and more balanced. What kind of energy does this stir? Is it calming? Firing? Does it draw you into harmony? Does it heal? As we begin to understand how the toning process affects you personally, you will have a better idea of how to apply it to others. Experiment with the dynamics. Use different tones with different vowels. What happens when you soften the tones? What happens when you sing it louder? Play with the rhythms of it. Hold the tone for longer intervals and for shorter intervals. Pulse the tones. Mix the short and long tones. Have fun with the process. As you play and experiment with it, you extend your normal range of voice, and you strengthen your resonance. You will find it easier to hold the tone. You will also find it is easier to speak in your natural pitch as opposed to your habitual vocal pitch.     What constitutes a fast? Water or Air, No calories (black coffee and tea okay but water is best) Green Juice- for newer fasters you can have a green juice (no apple) and black coffee or tea. Or use this as a time to not have coffee, give adrenals a break. No stimulants will help with hunger.   We Discussed   The Benefits of Fasting What we both experience anecdotally More mental clarity Pure joy and zest for life Energy When you fast, some of your fat gets turned into ketone bodies that appear to reactivate these genes, leading to lowered inflammation and stress resistance in the brain NAD+ rises without food, creating new mitochondria (the power-generating factories of your cells (NAD is a coenzyme found in the body and helps your body function better on a molecular level, helps with DNA repair, mitochondrial function (protect brain cells) and possibly safeguard you from future diseases)  Ketones, also produced during fasting, turn on genes related to antioxidant processes and damage repair. When you are fasting, ketone bodies generated by your liver partly replace glucose as fuel for your brain as well as other organs. This ketone usage by your brain is one of the reasons that fasting is often claimed to promote mental clarity and positive mood  ketones produce less inflammatory products as they are being metabolized than does glucose, and they can even kick-start production of the brain growth factor BDNF!     The Violet Flame is Spiritual Alchemy in action. The ultimate purpose of the Violet Flame is to turn the Human into the Divine Human. Its action is to TRANSMUTE denser feelings, actions, deeds, karma, etc. into a higher vibrational frequency, which helps prepare us for our Ascension. Ascension means becoming a Divine Human, also known as a Christed Being - a level of Consciousness obtainable by any person. You may use the Violet Flame in perfect harmony with any belief system, religion or practice. It is a neutral tool with absolutely no conditions attached to it. From http://violetflame.com Create a Sacred Space It's a good idea to have a comfortable place where you can do your spiritual work without interruptions. You can set up a small altar with candles, flowers, crystals and pictures that give you a sense of sacredness. You can also have pictures of people you love who need your prayers. Create your space in whatever way will most help your meditation. Pray with Deep Love Go within and offer these prayers from the place in your heart where God dwells. Pour the deepest love of your heart into them. When you conclude your spiritual work, you can pray for your contact with your divine source to continue throughout the day. Center in Your Heart and Visualize Two important preliminary steps — heart centering and visualization — can enhance your success in using the violet flame. Centering in your heart and visualizing the violet flame and the changes you wish to produce will help you harness the maximum power for personal and world transformation. Give the Prayers and Affirmations More than Once We suggest that prayers and affirmations be repeated more than once. This increases its effectiveness. In the East, people repeat their mantras over and over, even thousands of times a day. But in the West, we are less accustomed to the idea of repeating a prayer. Every moment God's energy is flowing to you. So while you are giving your prayers and affirmations, you are continuously charging the energy that is moving through you with God's power. The more you repeat them, the more positive energy you receive and the more you can send out into the world to bless others. Pray for One and All When praying, for instance, for a loved one who has cancer, you can send the violet flame to that loved one and to every single person on earth who is burdened by the same disease. It takes no more prayer work to ask for cancer to be eradicated from the planet than it takes to ask for the healing of one person. Expect Results, but Let God Determine the Outcome The violet flame begins to work as soon as you invoke it. It takes varying amounts of time to see results. Our prayers are always answered, but it may not be in the way we expect. The answer may come in the form of guidance to do something that will help you achieve what you have prayed for. Or it may come in the form of comfort and understanding to someone burdened by an illness, though that illness may not be cured. It could be that the person you're praying for has an important lesson to learn by bearing the burden of the illness. So always ask for your prayers to be adjusted to God's will and trust that God knows what is best for us at all times. Step 1: Choose a Focus for Your Meditation Choose a personal or planetary issue that concerns you. For instance, you might choose to focus on the world's homeless children, natural disasters or the threat of war. You will use this focus in step 9. Optional: Obtain visual aids such as photographs, magazine clippings or a map related to the focus of your meditation. These will help you in step 9 to visualize sending the violet flame into these situations. Step 2: Establish a Sense of Oneness with Life Begin your Violet Flame Meditation for Spiritual Transformation by sounding the OM to help you feel a sense of oneness with life. Give slowly as a chant: OM OM OM Step 3: Center in Your Heart Go within and consciously draw all your attention and energy to the point of your heart. You may want to close your eyes and place your hand over your heart to help you do this. Step 4: Visualize Yourself Sealed in a Sphere of White Fire Visualize a blazing white flame in the center of your heart. As you breathe deeply, see this flame filling your entire chest and turning into a brilliant sun. See that sun growing larger and larger until it becomes a sphere of radiant white fire surrounding you, extending above your head, spreading out to arm's length around you and flowing beneath your feet. Step 5: Give the Following Prayer for Protection Aloud Saint Germain and angels of protection, please surround me with a sphere of radiant white fire as I give this meditation. Let the light I invoke be used for the blessing, healing and protection of all life upon earth. Step 6: Intensify the Light Within You Repeat the following affirmation aloud three times as you visualize the sphere of white fire intensifying and pulsating around you. O mighty presence of God, I AM, in and behind the sun: I welcome thy light, which floods all the earth, into my life, into my mind, into my spirit, into my soul. Radiate and blaze forth thy light! Break the bonds of darkness and superstition! Charge me with the great clearness of thy white-fire radiance! I AM thy child, and each day I shall become more of thy manifestation! Step 7: Visualize the Violet Flame Now visualize the color of the white-fire sun around you changing to violet. See a tiny violet flame in the center of your heart, the rays of violet fire slowly spreading outward from this flame until they completely transform the white light into a dazzling sun of violet fire. Repeat the following affirmation several times, or for as long as you wish. Say it out loud, rhythmically and energetically. Violet fire, thou love divine, Blaze within this heart of mine! Thou art mercy forever true, Keep me always in tune with you. Step 8: Send the Violet Flame to Others for Forgiveness Now send this violet flame as a gift of forgiveness to your family and friends. Imagine it covering the world with comfort and joy as you give the following affirmations several times each. I AM forgiveness acting here, Casting out all doubt and fear, Setting men forever free With wings of cosmic victory. I AM calling in full power For forgiveness every hour; To all life in every place I flood forth forgiving grace. I AM the violet flame in action in me now I AM the violet flame, to light alone I bow I AM the violet flame in mighty cosmic power I AM the light of God shining every hour I AM the violet flame blazing like a sun I AM God's sacred power freeing everyone! Step 9: Direct the Violet Flame into Specific Conditions Give the following prayer aloud as you visualize the situation or place involved, using a photograph or map if you like. Hold your hands up in front of you, palms facing outward or facing the photograph or map. Now see violet flame radiating from your heart through your palms into the situation to transform it. By the power of the light and love within my heart and the heart of Saint Germain and the violet-flame angels, I ask that the light I am about to invoke be directed into the following condition(s) __________. Give the following two affirmations aloud several times: I AM the light of the heart Shining in the darkness of being And changing all into the golden treasury Of the mind of Christ.* I am projecting my love Out into the world To erase all errors And to break down all barriers. I AM the power of infinite love, Amplifying itself Until it is victorious World without end! *Your real Self, or higher consciousness. The universal Christ consciousness was personified in Jesus and other avatars and is present in all of us. O violet flame! O violet flame! O violet flame! In the name of God, in the name of God, in the name of God! O violet flame! O violet flame! O violet flame! Flood the world! and flood the world! and flood the world! In the I AM name, in the I AM name, in the I AM name! Peace and peace and peace be spread throughout the earth! May the Orient express peace, May the Occident express peace, May peace come from the east and go to the west, Come from the north and go to the south, And circle the world around! May the world abide in an aura of God-peace! Step 10: Close Your Meditation Give the following prayer aloud and chant the OM to close your Violet Flame Meditation for Spiritual Transformation. O God, let the light invoked through this meditation be for the blessing and healing of my family, my friends and all those in need throughout the world. I ask that this reservoir of light saturate the earth and transmute all conditions that stand in the way of a new day of peace and love manifesting upon this planet.     The3rd pillar of the Pure Joy Method Can you believe it? Mindset is STILL the #1 way to change and SUCCEED!  This is the Pure Joy Method's 3rd pillar in our 3 pillar structure for our Lovecamp (4-Week Keto Gone Green Coaching Program) because if we can incorporate mindfulness practices, journaling, meditating, exercise, intermittent fasting we can begin to switch our mindset YOU ARE WORTHY and WORTH IT! IF we eat when we are stressed, digestion is not optimized, and we can't digest properly. So even when you are eating the cleanest diet, if you are under stress (not mindful) you won't be fully  healthy (this leads to nutrient deficiencies, raised cortisol, ages you quicker, gain weight around the belly. etc,)  Leaky gut - cortisol connection  Relationships change Changing your health requires patience and dedication in order to fully transform. This is not an overnight fix! There is no magic pill.  PRAYER/GRATITUDE practice before eating (drink it in with your eyes first.  STOP AND PAUSE for 1 minute before taking your first bite (a great time to take your digestive enzymes) EAT, BREATHE and CHEW ONLY...No tv, phones, magazines, etc. MEDITATION: How this practice can stay with you throughout the day. From the book Mindfulness by Mark Williams and Danny Penman: “Numerous psychological studies have shown that regular meditators are happier and more contented than average.' These are not just important results in themselves but have huge medical significance, as such positive emotions are linked to a longer and healthier life.2 • Anxiety, depression and irritability all decrease with regular sessions of meditation.3Memory also improves, reaction times become faster and mental and physical stamina increase.4 o Regular meditators enjoy better and more fulfilling relationships.' o Studies worldwide have found that meditation reduces the key indicators of chronic stress, including hypertension.' • Meditation has also been found to be effective in reducing the impact of serious conditions, such as chronic pain' and cancer,' and can even help to relieve drug and alcohol dependence. 9 Studies have now shown that meditation bolsters the immune system and thus helps to fight off colds, flu and other diseases” To practice…. We are going to do 1-minute together.Sit comfortably, focus on your breath in and out your nose, maybe roll your eyes towards the center-3rd eye, then just be silent and breathe… If thoughts come up, just notice them and go back to your breath (no judgment). SET TIMER NOW. When we finish… what do you notice? Do you want to go longer? Do you feel a tiny bit calmer? 2ND FOOD MEDITATION PRACTICE...The chocolate meditation….dark chocolate, you and nothing else…(Elaina explains) Books and Apps:  Books-Mindful, The 4 agreements, Mindfulness, 10% Happier by Sam Harris, nonviolent communication, Untethered Soul (Michael Singer), The Art of Living, Radical Acceptance (Tara Brach)  Apps: Insight timer, youtube, headspace COUNT to 30 OR WAIT for 10 minutes JOURNALING NOTICING AND REPLACING- practice noticing negative thoughts or words around your food choices or your body/looks. When we catch ourselves saying something unsavory, without judgment, just notice it, then replace that thought with something believable (might just be something as simple as I can have that later or my skin looks amazing)  EXERCISE AND MOVEMENT- could be cardio or as simple as stretching and feeling your body inside and also with your hands. BODY SCAN- How do I FEEL? My eyes, my lips, my cheeks, my head, my neck, my shoulders, all the way down to your toes. AM I HUNGRY? Ask yourself this question… If no, then what is this sensation and is there something other than food that I can replace it with? Talking to a friend, a walk, some pushups or lunges, a bath or sauna, a drive or errand???? Benefits of Mindful Eating Learn to eat when you're hungry, and stop when you're sated. Learn to really taste the food, and to enjoy the taste of healthy food. You slowly start to realize that unhealthy food isn't as tasty as you thought, nor does it make you feel good anymore. Lose weight effortlessly  if you're overweight. Begin to sort through the emotional issues you have around food and eating. This takes a bit longer, but it's important. Social overeating becomes less of a problem — you can eat mindfully while socializing, with practice, and not overeat, having an experience of getting filled up with social connections Begin to enjoy your eating experience more, and as a result, enjoy life more. A mindfulness ritual you can look forward to. How food affects your mood and energy throughout the day.  Become more intuitive with what your body needs, listening to its signs What food best fuels your life (fitness, work, play) With these 3 pillars in place, we've seen such a high rate of success with our clients.
