When we sit down and start to plan out our year, it can be very easy to quickly get overwhelmed and feel like there's no way we'll be able to get everything done. But that's usually because we haven't made a plan! Sure it would be great if there were an “easy button,” but too often we confuse “simple” for “easy”. And though this homesteading lifestyle allows for more simplicity, it's anything but easy. For the show notes and any links mentioned in today's podcast: https://melissaknorris.com/375.

Yearly Goal Setting That Works

Are you looking to create a new year to-do list that you'll actually accomplish? Here's an easy goal-setting method I learned from my life coach. I've been doing this for 15 years, and I recommend you do it too! You can also do it with your partner if you want to take your relationship to the next level. Tune in to this episode: Yearly Goal Setting That Works. Key points covered in this episode: ✔️ Write down all your desires. Be it money, travels, things for your home, or better health – don't hold back! Make that list as long as you can. ✔️ Sort your list into three categories. A priorities – Things that you'll put your attention on first B priorities – Things you'll act on but not as important as A C priorities – “Nice-to-have” dreams that you'll someday do ✔️ Liberate yourself from the pressure. This is what the C category is for. Allow yourself to express your desires, even if they may not happen. ✔️ Work on one priority from the A-list. Slowly get through it. Be sure to review your list quarterly so you can see your progress. Because your goals are broken down into small chunks, you're more likely to hit them. ———————————————————————————————— ★★★ About Marie-Elizabeth Mali ★★★ Marie-Elizabeth is the founder of Relationship Alchemy, where she helps women leaders create loving and nourishing intimate relationships that support their work in the world. ★ TAKE THE RELATIONSHIP ALCHEMY ASSESSMENT ★ The relationship you desire is possible! After you create your goals for the year, let me give you 5 tips on how to plan for your best year & accomplish those goals, while also being mentally flexible & open to change.Show Notes:I used to believe you had to have everything so ready to go at the top of the year for everything else to work out.  It felt like, if you didn't know what was supposed to happen every step of the way, you were destined to fail. It's as if everything was hinging on all these decisions & commitments at the beginning of the year. When in reality, so many changes & shifts can happen at each stage of whatever you're working on, that will require you to refocus, replan and shift your perspective in a new direction. It's important for us to recognize that change happens and it's not something to run from or to fear. And oftentimes, change is an opportunity to shift into a better direction and towards something we didn't realize would be better and more suited that season of life. So, when we go into creating goals and intentions at the top of the year, it's important to acknowledge that the plan we create can and probably will change and we should be flexible and open-minded when that happens. Not everything is going to fall apart because we have to go in a different direction or realize what we wanted isn't something we want now. It's also not something you need to feel guilt or shame over. Mistakes and failures are life's best learning lessons. We learn just as much, if not more, from the experiences that don't go as planned as the things that work out.Today I wanted to talk about how we can set our mindset up for success by creating a plan for the year that allows us to accomplish our goals, while also allowing us to grow & develop into our best selves with less resistance toward the unknown. Here are 5 tips on How to Plan Your Best Year with Mental Flexibility:Create Monthly Check-InsCelebrate Every Progression & Milestone Decide What You Need to Let Go ofDon't Compare This Year to Years PastPush Through the Pain & Don't Give UpThank you so much for listening, downloading & sharing!Happy New Year to you all!Check out episode 455 on How to Create Your Best Goals for the Year.Support the showGet the NEW PLANNER-JOURNAL!! https://www.sabrinajoy.com/mindsetshop Visit me on Instagram or TikTok: @sabrinajoyperozzo Email Me: realpositivegirlpodcast@gmail.com Sign up for my weekly newsletter https://www.sabrinajoy.com/newsletter! It is time for a yearly review. To me, New Year's resolutions set an unrealistic expectation that things will be different just because the clock struck midnight, without acknowledging how to make them different. In a way, it's similar to the definition of insanity where we step into a new year with a new resolution, but we didn't change anything about ourselves. So, today's episode is one that's going to help you shift life on its axis, in the direction you actually feel called to go. You'll be able to see the fruits of your labor, you'll be able to see the change and evolution of yourself and your business by looking backwards to go forward. We're going to dissect last year and I'm going to teach you specific ways to peel back the layers on observing the last year so that you can actually build the year you want to live, that will take you into the long term vision that you have for your life. This year, don't just start planning and getting excited without making sure that you take the time to look at the last one and see how you can improve, tweak and develop in a way that is going to make the necessary turns to guide you towards where you actually want to go. To wrap up this year and prepare for the next, I decided to do something different for this one. I sat down with my beloved and multi-talented wife, Alyson, to discuss all of the lessons we learned in 2022 and to envision what's coming next in our divine union. The chat on which you're about to eavesdrop is one that is both intimate and quite personal. As is often the case when she and I record together, I walked away seriously having second thoughts about releasing it unedited. She has such a knack for bringing out my deepest truths, parts of me that are not always comfortable to share in public. But after sleeping on the idea, I decided to just pull the ripcord and let it fly. My intention in doing so is, of course, to give myself a heaping dose of humility while providing some insights to listeners like you about how to navigate your personal evolution and the many challenges we're sure to face along the way. It's the LAST EPISODE OF 2022!! How are we feeling? In today's In-Between, I look back on my year in review and go through the things I've learned, the things I'm taking with me into the new year, and the things I'm leaving behind. I get a little silly trying to recap my favorite "things" for 2022, books, movies, shows, etc.... only to realize I didn't really watch or read much.  Instead I focused on me, my goals in launching this podcast, and being "intentional" with my time and energy. Intentional was the word I chose to embody this year. Have you every picked a word of the year? It was interesting to see how that played out in looking back on the year. What are we choosing for 2023? Well, I guess you'll have to listen to find out. Are you a goal setter? If you have not listened to the reflection episode, start there. Its the one right before this one. I love to set goals. It's like I sit down and create a vision of this ideal version of myself :) I love to constantly grow and improve. I know that most people don't set goals b/c they don't want to deal with the discomfort of not achieving them and failing. That is something I used to feel, yet I discovered that setting goals helps me stay motivated to work towards that 'ideal version' of myself. Or towards my 'best self' for me and my family. Bible says: where there is no vision, people parish. If you don't know where you are going, you'll get no-where every time.
