Ever feel like life gets so busy that the things that once brought you joy get pushed to the side? This year, I'm prioritizing one habit I've let slip for far too long. Something that was once my go-to for inspiration, creativity, and escape, but as my days filled up with creating, that habit faded into the background. In this episode, I break down why this habit is my focus for 2025, how I'm setting myself up for success, and the small adjustments I'm making to ensure this habit sticks. For more go to: www.scottmlynch.comLevel up your life by joining my Patreon where you'll get exclusive content every week and more badass offerings (rips t-shirt in half, Hulk Hogan style, and runs around the room). In this podcast episode, Amber McCue takes us behind the scenes of her goal-setting process for 2025, blending her entrepreneurial insights with the realities of solo parenting. She emphasizes a practical, flexible approach to planning that allows for both personal and professional growth, even amidst the chaos of life as a solo parent. Amber doesn't lock herself into rigid, year-long plans. Instead, she prefers to set shorter 90-day goals that allow her to pivot when necessary. She breaks down her 12-month roadmap into manageable chunks, focusing on the essential activities, launches, and marketing campaigns for the year ahead. One of her key tips is aligning your personal life with your business goals. She talks about her year of solo parenting and the importance of clear communication with her team to ensure everything flows smoothly, both at home and at work. She also advises against over-complicating the process. Instead of meticulously planning every detail for an entire year, Amber suggests taking a more flexible approach with short-term plans that can be revised and updated as things evolve. Whether you're launching a product, planning a vacation, or simply trying to get your work-life balance right, Amber's strategy is all about managing your time, energy, and resources for maximum impact. Welcome back to another episode of the Arts to Hearts podcast! It's hard to believe that we are already in the fourth season and have reached over 200 episodes. When I started this podcast, I never imagined it would come this far. But here we are, three years later, reflecting on the journey and the exciting things that have happened along the way. As I sit here, without a script, I can't help but feel a mix of emotions. Yesterday, I held in my hand a book that we've been working on for far too long. It started as a simple Instagram feed, and now we have a whole book in our hands. It's been a journey, and I couldn't even imagine this a few years ago. Looking back, I remember the feeling of uncertainty when I started. I questioned whether I was good enough, whether I could make something out of this. But I'm glad I didn't listen to that voice. I'm glad I pushed through and pursued my ideas. And now, here I am, running an arts company, publishing books, and creating a community platform. With the new year upon us, I know many of us have mixed feelings about goal setting. We often feel the pressure to keep up with the world, to set goals and achieve them. But I've come to realize that it's important to find goals that are aligned with who we truly are. It takes time and self-reflection to figure out the person we want to become, the life we want to create. For me, the process of creation has always been a driving force. I envision myself as someone who is constantly creating, exploring new projects, and living a creative life. It's not about achieving specific goals in a set timeframe, but about becoming the person I want to be, living a little bit more of a creative life each day. Goal setting doesn't have to be overwhelming. It's not about following a formula or ticking off boxes. It's about envisioning the life we want to create and finding our own rhythm. That's why I'm excited to announce the "Artist You Want to Become" workshop. It's not just a workshop, but a meditative process where we will explore our dreams, clarify our goals, and create an energetic plan for the year ahead. During the workshop, we will spend seven days together, with three live calls, workbooks, and exercises to help you gain clarity and create a plan that aligns with your true self. It's about finding your north star, your guiding point, so that even when you feel lost, you can always come back to that energy and feel centered. If you're interested in joining me on this journey, simply send a DM to Arts to Hearts Project (@artstoheartsproject) on Instagram with the message "Artist 2024" or email us at artist2024 at info@artstoheartsproject.com. We start on the fifteenth of January, so don't miss out on this opportunity to kickstart your year with intention and clarity. You can set goals for the new year, but without a goal-setting strategy will you be able to achieve the goals? The practice of goal-setting can be simplified and you can set more achievable goals by aligning them with your values. In addition, gratitude helps achieve goals. Goal-setting strategy simplified Establish your goals using a strategy that will keep you on track to achieve them and watch your business grow. You may feel fatigued or experience burnout if you don't see results fast enough or if you set goals that are too big to achieve in a reasonable amount of time. In addition, avoid setting too many goals or you may become overwhelmed because you won't know where to focus. Simplify the goal-setting strategy Warren Buffet, one of the richest men in the world, has a goal-setting process that has worked well for him and others that he's mentored. Buffet's goal-setting strategy is to make a list of your top 25 goals. Review the list and circle the 5 goals that are priority or have urgency. The other 20 are no longer goals. Set them aside and only focus on the top 5. Now that you have your top 5 goals to work on, I like to use this strategy. Decide which of the 5 is of utmost urgency. For example, my client is in desperate need of creating processes and procedures and automating as much as possible. Without processes and procedures, things are falling through the cracks. In addition, she's the only person in the office who can do what needs to be done. She has other goals for the year, the biggest, to franchise her business. Before she can franchise, she has to have the backend running smoothly, like clockwork. Likewise, this goal has to be achieved before she can reach the goal of stepping away from the day-to-day operations of the business to do activities that will generate growth and enable her to move forward with the franchise. Once you've prioritized your goals, it's time to break them down into action steps and a timeline. The best thing you can do is break down each goal into quarterly, monthly, and weekly objectives. Breaking goals into smaller steps will help you stay focused, see progress, and avoid being overwhelmed. To help stay focused, don't add more than three objectives to your calendar per week. Break the three down to daily action items that will help you achieve the week's objective. But no more than three action items per day because you need to allow space in your day to accomplish other tasks and work in your business. Limiting the number of tasks will again help avoid burnout, overwhelm, or overthinking. What to consider in your goal-setting strategy Read the full show notes and access all links. However, the traditional approach to goal setting often overlooks the importance of aligning objectives with personal values and the need for adaptability. In this article, we explore a transformative approach to goal setting, breaking it down into four key segments.1. The Art of Meaningful Goal SettingTo set truly meaningful goals, it's essential to align them with your core personal values. Start by identifying moments in your life when you felt the most fulfilled. What were you doing? Who were you with? Common threads in these experiences often point to your core values. For instance, if you consistently find fulfillment in helping others, this value should be at the forefront of your goals.Next, ensure that your goals align with these values. If one of your core values is community service, a goal might be to volunteer regularly or pursue a career in a field that allows you to give back to the community. A powerful example of this is the story of a high-flying lawyer who shifted to a lower-paying job at a non-profit organization, finding deeper satisfaction and alignment with her core value of ‘community service.'2. The Hidden Power of Micro-GoalsAchieving large goals can be daunting. Breaking them down into smaller, more manageable micro-goals can make the process less overwhelming and more achievable. For instance, if your goal is to run a marathon, start by training for shorter distances like a 5k and gradually work your way up.This method not only makes the goal seem more attainable but also leverages the psychological benefits of achieving small wins. Each micro-goal achieved releases dopamine, a neurotransmitter associated with feelings of pleasure and motivation, fueling your drive to pursue the next step. A case study that exemplifies this is Support the Podcast: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1590358/support Closing of ReThinkBuzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched! One of the main points of Napoleon Hill's philosophy was the definite chief aim. Mitch Horowitz wrote a book about his fascinating concepts. This is a secret of reality creation. It works best when you develop and focus upon a definite chief aim. It is most appalling to know that ninety-five per cent of the people of the world are drifting aimlessly through life, without the slightest conception of the work for which they are best fitted, and with no conception whatsoever of even the need of such a thing as a definite objective toward which to strive. There is a psychological as well as an economic reason for the selection of a definite chief aim in life. Let us devote our attention to the psychological side of the question first. It is a well established principle of psychology that a person's acts are always in harmony with the dominating thoughts of his or her mind. Any definite chief aim that is deliberately fixed in the mind and held there, with the determination to realize it, finally saturates the entire subconscious mind until it automatically influences the physical action of the body toward the attainment of that purpose. Your definite chief aim in life should be selected with deliberate care, and after it has been selected it should be written out and placed where you will see it at least once a day, the psychological effect of which is to impress this purpose upon your subconscious mind so strongly that it accepts that purpose as a pattern or blueprint that will eventually dominate your activities in life and lead you, step by step, toward the attainment of the object back of that purpose.
