    Ivy Insights

The Just Dumb Enough Podcast is an incredibly refreshing and enlightening show that stands out in today's podcast landscape. Colton Petry, the host of the podcast, has a knack for creating a relaxing and non-judgmental atmosphere, where he allows his guests to share their expertise without pushing his own views on anyone. This is a truly rare find these days and it creates a space for open and honest conversations.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is Colton's ability to bring out the best in his guests. His thoughtful presence and insightful questions result in engaging and informative discussions that leave listeners with valuable tips and information they can use in their own lives. The guests on the show are also highly interesting, covering a wide range of topics. Whether it's diving into a subject you may not know much about or exploring surprising aspects of reality, there is always something intriguing to discover.

Another great aspect of The Just Dumb Enough Podcast is Colton's interviewing skills. He is a masterful interviewer who knows how to create meaningful conversations that listeners just don't want to end. His ability to "dumb down" complex topics without patronizing his audience makes the podcast accessible to everyone, while still discussing them on a much more insightful level than usual. Colton's modesty, honesty, and instantly likable personality make him someone you feel comfortable learning from.

While it's hard to find any major flaws with this podcast, one possible downside might be that there is no set platform or agenda for each episode. While this adds an element of unpredictability and spontaneity to the show, some listeners might prefer a more structured format. However, I believe that this lack of agenda actually makes the episodes more interesting, as it allows guests to speak freely and explore different angles without constraints.

In conclusion, The Just Dumb Enough Podcast is a hidden gem in the podcast world. Colton Petry has created a show that combines relaxation, thoughtfulness, and insightful conversations in a way that is truly enjoyable and educational. Whether you're looking for practical tips, eye-opening discussions, or simply want to learn something new, this podcast is a great use of your time. Highly recommended!

After three and a half years of doing this show at least once a week, I think I've found what might be the most difficult skill to learn; as it took our expert today over seven years of one on one study with a lifetime master of the craft before he was able to attempt it on his own.   Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts.  My guest today is Gerard Wouters. Gerard is a Dutch Taoist, which sounds about as statistically unlikely as it is. But he found that Taoism gave him a very clear path to both physically and mentally treat his clients for the last 30 years. We dive into what Tao is, the meaning behind Yin/Yang, and what this practice has that is so commonly mistaken for other beliefs or religions, when Tao itself does not worship anything at all. Mr. Wouters is also not a native English speaker, but I think he does a great job all the same. In case you somehow missed it: The Just Dumb Enough Japan Tour starts in under two weeks, and I cannot wait to see everyone on the road! The Hidden Secret to Prayer? with Beatty Carmichael

When I hear the word "Prayer": I immediately think of a catholic mass in a regal church, or a solemn beg for more time from a sick person. But our guest today says that it doesn't even need to be specific to any religion in order to heal what ails you.  Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is Beatty Carmichael. Coming from a medical family, Beatty wanted to find where science applied itself to what he saw as a higher power of the universe. Much like gravity, he found that prayer works on a set of principles with very specific vernacular that needed to be followed. Now he's here to show us how this scientific prayer has helped 90% of his consults to recover when everything else failed.  In case you missed it: The Just Dumb Enough Japan Tour starts in just about two weeks, and I cannot wait to see everyone on the road!  ( http://ThePrayerOfFreedomBook.com )  ( http://Overview.TPOFBook.com )  ( https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-prayer-of-freedom-beatty-carmichael/1144175305?ean=9798989059102 )  ( https://a.co/d/bnxmYRV will take you to: Www.Amazon.Com "The Prayer of Freedom: God's breakthrough approach to prayer that frees you from many forms of chronic pain, chronic health issues, anxiety, trauma, addictions, and other life challenges" )  ( https://www.youtube.com/@BeattyCarmichaelTeaching will take you to: Www.YouTube.Com - Where you can see all of his videos and testimonials )  Let's find the spiritual algorithm of the Gods.  Feel Free to  try for yourself: Step 1. “Dear God, I want to get rid of this _____; and if there is a spiritual root at the bottom of it: I ask that you reveal it to me now. Reveal any sin I need to repent of, or any person that I need to forgive.”  Step 2. “I Repent of ____ with ____” or “I forgive ____ for _____”  If your apology involved another person “I break all unholy soul ties with, and release all judgements against those people I named.”  Step 3. “And now, God, I ask that you remove my ____. Take it to zero, right now.”  Talking to the issue: “____, In God's Name: I command you to leave, go out now.”   I find this fascinating that it comes from a nearly agnostic principle, and seems to work for anyone. I tried it with Beatty and found some temporary success in alleviating pain in my back. Maybe I need to work at it more to make it consistent?  In ranking news... April is now over, and the monthly rankings are all set:  1. The United States, with California, Oregon, and Washington; now in that order.  2. England of the United Kingdom.  3. Australia, with Queensland just one listener over New South Wales and a handful over Victoria.  4. Canada, with Ontario almost losing to British Columbia right at the end.  5. Hong Kong, barely holding out against New Zealand.  That's it for this week! Having a history as a paramedic, I know that my way to approach grief is through working without rest. It's not healthy, and I don't recommend it for others, but it's what works for me.  This episode wasn't intended to be released for several more weeks, but the content and the massages gave me a gift: A way to help my mother through this hard time. I know you're listening Mom, and I love you.  The loss of your spouse is almost unthinkable for most people, and based on the numbers: It's far more likely to happen to women.  Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts.  My guests today are Karen Smith-Racicot, Rebecca LeChance, and Karen Justice. All three of these women lost their husbands in different ways, and have found their new lives in very different ways. You would expect this to be a universal experience, since half of all life-long relationships will experience it. However, It is multi-faceted, and there will never  be a one-size-fits-all approach to preparing for it, or surviving the aftermath undaunted. Keep yourselves open to the ideas these wonderful women share, and prepare for the unthinkable with the hope that it will never be needed.    ( Www.ThreeWidows.Com )  ( Info@ThreeWidows.Com )  ( https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/grief-grieving-with-matthew-stapley/id1588060916?i=1000553958384 will take you to Apple Podcast "Grief & Grieving with Matthew Stapley" )  Let's work through our losses.  Editing this episode and transcribing the lessons really helped me rationalize the loss. I also highly recommend the interview Matthew Stapley and I did about Grief and Grieving if you are in the same situation ( https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/grief-grieving-with-matthew-stapley/id1588060916?i=1000553958384 ).  Take care everyone, and forgive me for not wanting to add a ranking or plug to the end of this episode; it just doesn't feel right.  I'll be back next week. I don't know that I've ever hear the words "Forensic" and "Construction" used in the same sentence, outside of maybe "The forensic team is inspecting the murder at the construction site." And yet, this topic is quite passive, with no murder that I heard about. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts.  My guest today is Samuel Bentil. Samuel is a construction dispute claims consultant, a job I honestly never knew existed until our interview. In short his job is to make sure that neither the client, nor the contractor is engaging in any shady practices to make extra money. That's commonly a concern for most people having their homes built, but becomes much more serious when the project's price is measured in billions of dollars and not thousands. Samuel also have a super fun accent that I enjoy, and he hails from our regular top 5 country: Ghana ( Www.MagicMind.Com/Dumb20 )  ( Www.AvoidConstructionDisputes.Com )  ( Www.SamuelKBentil.Com )  ( Search "Samuel Bentil" on: Www.Amazon.Com )  Let's communicate about costs. I've seen far too many of these situations personally, and that's without ever working on any huge budget constructions. So for everyone's sake, I hope Samuel and his peers can help iron out the issues. In other news, October is ongoing, and the ranking are as follows:  1. We all have those ideas that we want to see come to life: Whether it's stories for an imaginative audience, or increasing our year end sales. But so often that comes with the sharp sting of rejection, and our enthusiasm takes a real hit.  Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts.  My guest today is Margot Black. From stage and screen, to everyday bakery, Margot aims to help the average person pitch better. Top 10 Downloaded of Year 3

did a most downloaded episode I believe for year 2, an everyone seemed to really enjoy it including me. So we're doing it again as a year 3 episode!  As with the last compilation I made, these are not necessarily my favorite episodes of the year: They are the most downloaded of the year. I think the top 3 even broke download records, so it's clear that people enjoyed them.  This is a great way to peruse topics you may have otherwise overlooked or ignored, or great starting points if you're new to the show.  I'm also super proud to say that this has been a massive year of growth with numbers doubling and tripling in most cases, along with an astounding 160 country reach and numerous top rankings in multiple countries and on several platforms.    Starting us off at number 10 is: Bad Bosses with Jennifer Nash. We originally arranged this interview to talk about good bosses, but you all in the audience quickly decided you wanted it to be about the worst of the worst, and what's wrong with them. I'll also throw in a little (static) so you know there's a clean little cut in the audio segments.   I can see why people found that episode a bit cathartic, but it was followed up with an interview that had most people concerned at the beginning. It was a reply to a tech specialist, done and voiced entirely by AI. At #9: The AI Reply with ChatGPT and ElevenLabs    The speaking ability of computer entities quickly found its way deeper into the minds of the audience; as we dove into the human speaking ability in #8 Polyglot Means Multilingual with Joel Dubin    But with these new languages, how were we going to find the money to travel to all these wonderful places? That's where we get #7: Becoming Wealthy with Bryan Kuderna    Needless to say: All these new skills left us all a bit stressed out. Luckily, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder came in to save the day at #6: OCD with Chris Mason    That puts OCD into perspective, but what about the ever increasing need to know about Autism? For this we turn to #5: Life with Autism with Sam Mitchell    Autism can be an isolating experience, and #4 highlighted that all of life can be lonely if done wrong. This is: Loneliness with Shila Patel   Okay… So we don't want to be lonely, right? Then why not find someone or something we cannot live without? Turns out that leads us to #3: Codependency with Dr. Sarah Michaud    Alright! So we can't be lonely, AND we can't be codependent… Is there anything else to look out for, Colton? Yes, there is, my lovely audience member; it's #2: Narcissistic Personality Disorder with Danu Morrigan    Wow… with such a heavy list, surely the number one must have been an all encompassing downer, right?  No! In fact, #1 was almost exclusively uplifting: Providing valuable insights to how you can find passion and purpose in your life right now! It's Vitamin P with Corey Poirier    Listener questions?: “Do you plan to focus on any topics more in the future?” -Mikah   Rocky asks, "You had a recent announcement about a medical situation. Can you tell us more?"   “How's listenership?” - Deborah    “Did something happen to make you happier?” - Odila Favorite Reviews or Emails:  “Dear JDE podcast,  Thank you for releasing such unique and fascinating content. Not being largely into podcasts, I find myself oddly intrigued with what the next episode will dive into.  Just a few weeks ago I listened to one where you had a sports related guest, they mentioned how physical activity such as running helps the mind from overthinking. Because you're so physically exhausted, you can't think deep enough to get overwhelmed in the moment. Being the fool I am. I translated this to intensely jogging on a break later that night to the point of being uncomfortable. Later, a co-worker was kind enough to invite me on their evening strolls and that was a much more enjoyable distraction.  Sincerely, another dumb fan.”    “Hello! Huge fan of the show, just wanted to send some. Compliments your way. Live, laugh, love babes! Cheers!” - Leo Velour    I love hearing from listeners, even if it's just for them to say hey or share a moment.    Now for just a little ego boost, let's look at some public reviews of the show:  “I love this podcast. I always learn something. I've been listening for some time now and was fortunate to be a guest last year. Keep up the good work, Colton.” - Dr. Robin Hall    “Colton Petry's Just dumb enough. Podcast is, of course, quite smart. All of his shows and guests are wide-ranging and equally fascinating. I find most shows with an international following such as this one. Are the ones to stalk. This one's a keeper.” -Best Things Ever    “Colton ain't no dummy, He's a masterful interviewer who creates the best conversations that you just don't want to end.” - Jodi  Top 10 Countries:  United States, led by New York, Oregon, California, Texas, and Illinois.  England and Scotland of the United Kingdom.  Australia's own New South Wales and Victoria.  Canada, with Ontario and British Columbia out front.  Ghana, making a huge statement as a regular top 5 this year!  New Zealand  Ireland  Germany  South Africa  India    All 10 has routine time in the top of their charts, there was only about a 2% difference between #6 and #10, and #11 was even closer.    Thank you all again for hanging out with me and my wonderfully dumb show for another year. I hope to have even more fun topics and wild knowledge for you in Year 4!  That's it for this week! Art can be such a fickle endeavor, most often requiring years or training, practice, and experience. Send whatever you've got to DumbEnoughPodcast@Gmail.Com  My guest today is Tracy Latz. Tracy is many things, with many very impressive degrees, but she's most proud of her work with Entura Art. It's a type of drawing or painting that require the artist to be blindfolded and unaware of the artwork unfolding in front of them. This is perfect for people like me who can't understand anatomy, perspective, or color theory.  It also leans more towards the side of the audience that love psychics, mediums, and other unusual studies; because it touches on a lot of them from the view of a clinical psychiatrist.    ( Www.MagicMind.Com/Dumb20 )  ( Www.ShiftYourLife.Com )  ( LatzTalk@Gmail.Com )  ( http://www.youtube.com/@ShiftYourlLifeNow )  ( https://a.co/d/3gZ46nZ will take you to: Www.Amazon.Com "The Mystical World of Entura Art: Connecting with Spirit Via Intuitive Art" )  Let's finally make meaningful art!  I love that all of this can be done, very easily, for less than $5. If you found this episode entertaining, use it as a springboard to seek out other shows like "Last Podcast on the Left" who did a full five part series on the inner workings. I think the phrase "I'm a little OCD" has been said by most of the people on the planet at some point in time, but it's truly understood by very few. Our expert today will explain why no one has ever been just a little bit OCD. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts.  My guest today is Chris Mason. Chris struggled with obsessive compulsive disorder for decades before finding a way out. He's here to share what the disorder actually is, how it manifests, and the path he found to escape it. ( Www.MagicMind.Com/JustDumb20 ) ( Www.PathToInnerWellness.Com ) Let's try to do an intro! The amount I learned about OCD in this interview really didn't sink in until I heard it all again while editing. So if there are topics you've enjoyed, go back and re-listen to get even more out of it. In other news, July is rolling onward and the rankings have updated a little: 1. The United States, now led by New York, Texas, and Pennsylvania. 2. England of the United Kingdom. 3. Canada, with Ontario widening their lead. 4. Australia, with New South Wales holding a lead, and Victoria and Queensland both desperately trying to overtake them. 5. New Zealand, overtaking Ghana. That's it for this week! Did you know that legally speaking: Only one group of individuals in a Non Profit Organization cannot make a profit? That seems wrong, but it's just one of the many things which surprised me in talking to our expert today. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. Sorry for the delay in episode from Monday to Tuesday, my original episode had some major audio problems that require more attention. My guest today is Mickey Desai. Mickey is a podcaster and non profit expert who has served on several board of directors, and now gives advice to those who are working in or entering the space. I definitely came away from this one with a whole new view on just how NPOs function, and the challenges some  of them face. ( Www.MagicMind.Com/JustDumb20 ) ( Www.NonProfitSnapshot.Com ) ( Www.NonProfitSnapcast.Com ) Let's work for free... maybe. It seems so unusual that a board member of a potentially large company cannot get paid, but I feel like it has to be that way in order to keep any honesty in the system. In other news, July is rolling onward and the rankings have updated a little: 1. The United States, Still led by New York, Texas, and Oregon. 2. England of the United Kingdom, taking back the number 2 spot. 3. Canada, with British Columbia closing in on the throne-holding Ontario. 4. Australia, with New South Wales holding a lead, and Victoria bumping the country up a spot. 5. Ghana, carefully holding a lead over New Zealand. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. My guest today is Andrew Parrillo. Andrew is an investment advisor with about five decades of experience, and while this episode shouldn't be considered advice for legal reasons: it is absolutely chalk full of invaluable information. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts.  My guest today is Dr. Tom Ingegno. Tom is a super fun guy with over two decades of experience in various medical practices that date  back thousands of years. We talk about all the classic East Asian Medicine practices a little, but I was fascinated coming into this with the  practice of cupping. I had no idea it was something you could do at home for really cheap while still being effective. Having literally written the book on cupping, Tom set me straight and even steered me to buy a set of my own. I love them and have found incredible relief in a way I never imagined possible. Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) with Danu Morrigan

Narcissus was born in Ancient Greece, and was one day warned that he would live a long life as long as 'he never knows himself.' As he reached his teenage years, the handsome youth never found anyone that could pull his heartstrings, instead, he left in his wake a long trail of distressed and broken-hearted maidens. Then, one day, he chanced to see his own reflection in a pool of water and, thus, discovered the ultimate  in unrequited love and fell in love with himself. Naturally, this one-way relationship went nowhere, and Narcissus, unable to draw himself away from the pool, pined away in despair until he finally died of thirst and starvation. Immortality, at least of a kind, was assured, though, when his body turned into the flowers which, thereafter, bore his name. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts.  My guest today is Danu Morrigan. We've all met that person who is a little to self-absorbed. The world must revolve around them, whether they have to cry or scream or be silent to get their way. But what exactly is wrong with them? Danu is here today to teach us all about the sneaky Narcissistic Personality Disorder or NPD. She'll tell us what it is, what it means, what it's like to be raised by someone with it, and ultimately how to go no contact. It's a far cry from the fable of Narcissus who was so entranced by his own beauty that he died, but in some ways that story still feels kind of accurate. ( Www.DaughtersOfNarcissisticMothers.Com ) ( https://a.co/d/8AV1hoI will take you to: Www.Amazon.Com "How to go no contact with your narcissistic mother" ) Let's not be self absorbed people! A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts.  My guest today is Ananta Ripa Ajmera. Ananta is here today to teach us things that humans have known for thousands of years. The problem is that we've been overwriting a lot of this old, hard earned knowledge with new trends and fads that don't actually serve to help us as much as they hurt us. I was quite surprised by a lot of what used to be considered common sense, which is never a good sign. And I'm guilty of doing quite a few of the bad things she points out. While her background definitely has a spiritual inclination, you'll likely find a lot of universal advice about how to grow and better yourself that doesn't have any direct connection to one philosophy or religion. We'll talk about how it can help with everything from insomnia to eating disorders. ( Www.AnantaRipaAjmera.Com ) ( Www.Amazon.Com "Way of the Goddess" ) Let's relearn old knowledge! There are so many people on so many journeys out there, that it can be easy to sidetrack yourselves. I hope the advice in this episode helps someone to better find their footing and return to their own path.
