Taoism and Therapy Collide with Gerard Wouters

Just Dumb Enough Podcast

After three and a half years of doing this show at least once a week, I think I've found what might be the most difficult skill to learn; as it took our expert today over seven years of one on one study with a lifetime master of the craft before he was able to attempt it on his own.   Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts.  My guest today is Gerard Wouters. Gerard is a Dutch Taoist, which sounds about as statistically unlikely as it is. But he found that Taoism gave him a very clear path to both physically and mentally treat his clients for the last 30 years. We dive into what Tao is, the meaning behind Yin/Yang, and what this practice has that is so commonly mistaken for other beliefs or religions, when Tao itself does not worship anything at all. Mr. Wouters is also not a native English speaker, but I think he does a great job all the same. In case you somehow missed it: The Just Dumb Enough Japan Tour starts in under two weeks, and I cannot wait to see everyone on the road! The schedule is looking nearly sold out, but I'd still love to meet up with fans in each city.  ( https://taoistisch.nl/ )  ( https://a.co/d/6UrEqqw take you to: Www.Amazon.Com "How to make life simple, happy and successful the Taoist way: Introduction to a new way of living" )  Let's figure out Tao, the energy of everything.  I'm glad to be in my country and also glad to have you all listening, although I will soon be in Japan!    In ranking news... May has begun, and the monthly rankings are updated:  1. England of the United Kingdom.  2. The United States, with Wisconsin, California, and Georgia at the top.  3. Canada, with Ontario barely leading British Columbia.  4. Australia, with Queensland and New South Wales tied, and Southern Australia actually right behind.  5. Ireland, just over Israel.  That's it for this week! Have a great week, a great weekend, and I'll see you all back here next week for another new episode!  Until the next episode, pretty please do all the things to help the show: rate, review, like, and subscribe.  Reach out to DumbEnoughPodcast@Gmail.Com or on any social media if you want to reach me personally.  Most importantly, Stay Dumb!  #Podcast #Education #Dutch #Burnout #Depression #Healing #Taoist #Taoism

Send me a DM here (it doesn't let me respond), OR email me: imagineabetterworld2020@gmail.comToday I'm honored to have back on the show for a third time: Satanic ritual abuse, child sex trafficking, medical experimentation and MK ULTRA survivor, Beaumont child murder whistleblower, podcaster, content creator, entrepreneur and founder of ‘Sixth Science', Ley line lover, psychic workshop developer and trainer, and absolute inspiration: Rachel Vaughn! In case you missed Rachel's first episode where she shared a glimpse into her harrowing and inspirational testimony, here's a brief synopsis of what we talked about: Rachel was born in Adelaide, Southern Australia into a multi-generational incest-based Illuminati bloodline family that hails from the Kennedy family. Daughter to a mind-controlled mother and a psychopathic father, Rachel's abuse began as a toddler at the hands of her father and continued as she was passed off to other members of the satanic cult, he was a part of. Her and her 3 siblings suffered horrendous abuses at the hands of the same people who should have been protecting them and had nowhere to turn as they watched police and authorities not only partake in abuse but work overtime to ensure any abuse allegations would never see the light of day.  Today, Rachel is back to do a deep dive presentation into the Beaumont Child Murder mystery case - where on January 26, 1966, a sunlit Australia Day turned dark when siblings Jane (9), Arnna (7), and Grant Beaumont (4) vanished from a beach nearby Adelaide, South Australia. Despite one of the largest searches in Australian history, no trace of the children was ever found. The case, steeped in speculation of abduction and murder, gripped the nation, shattering a sense of innocence and altering parental trust in public safety. The Beaumont children's disappearance endures as Australia's most haunting unsolved mystery, a poignant echo of lost childhood and a relentless quest for truth. Rachel steps into this void as a fearless torchbearer, armed with a truth she's fought tirelessly to unearth. For years, she has devoted herself to giving voice to these children, insisting they were never truly ‘missing' - their fate buried beneath layers of corruption by authorities and media intent on silencing the story. Today, she peels back the veil, exposing the reasons behind this cover-up and shining a bright light on what befell Jane, Arnna, and Grant that fateful day. Rachel's relentless pursuit of justice, undeterred by ignored pleas and suppressed evidence, marks her as a true hero - a warrior for the voiceless.STANSBURY DIG PETITION LINK: https://www.change.org/p/missing-beaumont-children-sapol-to-dig-the-sink-hole-at-redacted-stansburyCONNECT WITH RACHEL:YOUTUBE Rachel Vaughan - YouTubeRUMBLE RachelVaughan (rumble.com)BITCHUTE Rachel Vaughan (bitchute.com)Webpage: Rachel Vaughan SRAMK Survivor | elinkWebsite: 6th Science - Psychic Development - Rachel VaughanTelegram: Telegram: Contact @RachelVaughanCONNECT WITH THE IMAGINATION:All Links: Emma Katherine on Direct.meSubstack: Emma's Substack | Emma Katherine | SubstackEmail: imagineabetterworld2020@gmail.comSupport the show

The company recently strengthened its position through a deal with Santos, Australia's second-largest oil and gas company, securing a 50% stake in two permits adjacent to its existing acreage. The company plans to drill a key well in Q3 2025 to a depth of over 3,000 meters on the Santos acreage. This well, costing less than $10 million with approximately half potentially funded through R&D tax credits, aims to prove commercial viability by testing productivity and liquids content in an up-dip location expected to be more liquids-rich.Elixir's acreage sits within the Taroom Trough, described as a large, homogeneous unconventional gas play. The company estimates its acreage contains over 30 TCF of gas-in-place in deep coals, though current recovery factors are less than 1%. Shell's presence in adjacent blocks provides validation of the play's potential, with the major having invested approximately $500 million in the region through its own activities and its acquisition of BG Group. The project benefits from strong market fundamentals, with current gas prices around $14/GJ at the Wallumbilla Hub. The market is expected to tighten further, with LNG imports into Southern Australia potentially driving prices above $20/GJ. Queensland's supportive regulatory environment and the growing recognition of gas's role in energy security and transition add to the project's appeal.Beyond the Santos acreage well, Elixir plans to drill the Diona-1 conventional well in mid-2025 and is seeking a farm-in partner for its 100% owned acreage. The company's management team, led by CEO Neil Young, brings significant industry experience and relationships, particularly with Santos.Young emphasizes the project's advantages: "This is an unconventional play located immediately proximate to infrastructure, it doesn't need a single FID with a big signing ceremony and billions in spending. Here you can incrementally spend tens of millions, feed markets that are small to start, then build up your infrastructure."The company sees significant potential for value creation through its ongoing drilling program, potential farm-out deals, and the continued de-risking of the play through both its own activities and those of nearby operators. With a strong acreage position, supportive market conditions, and clear development pathway, Elixir appears well-positioned to capitalize on Queensland's growing gas opportunity.View Elixir Energy's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/elixir-energySign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

In a podcast episode, researchers in Australia discussed their successful use of camera tags on endangered sea lions to map benthic habitats in Southern Australia. By equipping the sea lions with small, lightweight cameras, researchers were able to track their movements and visually document the diverse benthic habitats they encountered. The data obtained from the animal-borne video and movement data provided critical information for mapping previously unmapped benthic habitats on the continental shelf. This method allowed researchers to cover over 5,000 square kilometers of seabed, offering valuable insights into the habitats used by the sea lions. The resulting videos from the camera tags enabled researchers to identify various benthic habitats, including macroalgae reef, macroalgae meadow, bare sand, sponge and sand habitats, invertebrate reefs, and invertebrate boulders. By leveraging the natural movements of these sea lions, researchers were able to gather data on a large scale without the need for expensive equipment like remotely operated vehicles or drones. This approach not only helped in mapping critical habitats for the endangered Australian sea lions but also had broader implications for surveying other marine species of interest. The cost-effectiveness and efficiency of using animals for mapping benthic habitats highlight the potential for this method to be a valuable tool in conservation and exploration efforts. The successful use of sea lions to map benthic habitats demonstrates an innovative and sustainable approach to gathering crucial data for conservation purposes. This method not only benefits the protection of endangered species but also contributes to a better understanding of marine ecosystems and habitats, paving the way for more effective conservation strategies in the future. Camera tags on animals, such as sea lions, have proven to be invaluable tools in gathering data on habitat use and movement patterns. In the podcast episode, researchers in Australia utilized camera tags on endangered sea lions to map benthic habitats in Southern Australia. By equipping the sea lions with small, lightweight cameras, researchers were able to track their movements and visually observe the different habitats they encountered. This innovative approach allowed for the mapping of over 5,000 square kilometers of seabed, providing critical information for the protection of the endangered Australian sea lions. The use of camera tags on animals not only aids in the conservation of specific species but also contributes to broader marine conservation efforts. By studying the habitat use and movement patterns of marine mammals like sea lions, researchers can gain insights into the diversity and distribution of benthic habitats. This information is essential for effective marine conservation planning, as it helps identify critical habitats for protection and informs management strategies for endangered species. The success of using camera tags on sea lions highlights the potential of this technology in advancing marine conservation efforts. By leveraging the natural movements of animals to gather data on underwater habitats, researchers can overcome the challenges associated with traditional mapping methods, such as the high cost of remotely operated vehicles and limited coverage of survey areas. The ability to visually observe and document habitat use through animal-borne cameras opens up new possibilities for studying and protecting marine ecosystems. Overall, the use of camera tags on animals like sea lions represents a promising approach to conservation biology. By harnessing the power of animal movements to collect data on benthic habitats, researchers can enhance their understanding of marine environments and contribute to the preservation of endangered species and marine biodiversity. Proper protocols and care must be followed when using camera tags on animals to ensure their safety and well-being during the research process. In the podcast episode, researchers equipped eight endangered Australian sea lions with small, lightweight cameras to track their movements and map benthic habitats. The cameras and tracking instruments were carefully attached to the sea lions using small pieces of neoprene glued onto their fur, weighing less than one percent of the sea lion's body weight to prevent any negative effects on their swimming abilities. Furthermore, the researchers took precautions to ensure the camera tags did not hinder the sea lions' movements or cause any harm. They monitored the animals closely and recorded over 89 hours of footage over two to three days. Additionally, the researchers sedated the sea lions when retrieving the cameras to prevent any stress or harm to the animals during the process. This approach demonstrates the importance of following proper protocols and care when using camera tags on animals for research purposes. By prioritizing the safety and well-being of the animals, researchers can gather valuable data while minimizing any potential negative impacts on the study subjects. This ethical and responsible approach is essential in wildlife research to ensure the welfare of the animals involved and maintain the integrity of the research findings.

Carly Ryan was a sweet and fun loving 15 year old living in Stirling, Southern Australia. She loved to spend time online, especially chatting with her special friend, 18 year old Brandon Kane. Or so she thought. It turned out that Brandon was not everything he said he was and sadly, Carly fell victim to a deceitful online predator named Gary Newman. This case is tragic and reminds us of the dangers of catfishing, online grooming, and cyber predatory behavior. Today I'm honored to have back on the show for a third time: Satanic ritual abuse, child sex trafficking, medical experimentation and MK ULTRA survivor, Beaumont child murder whistleblower, podcaster, content creator, entrepreneur and founder of ‘Sixth Science', walking miracle, and absolute inspiration: Rachel Vaughn! In case you missed Rachel's first episode, here's a brief synopsis of her survivor testimony: Rachel was born in Adelaide, Southern Australia into a multi-generational incest-based Illuminati bloodline family that hails from the Kennedy family. Daughter to a mind-controlled mother and a psychopathic father, Rachel's abuse began as a toddler at the hands of her father and continued as she was passed off to other members of the satanic cult he was a part of. Her and her 3 siblings suffered horrendous abuses at the hands of the same people who should have been protecting them and had nowhere to turn as they watched police and authorities not only partake in abuse, but work overtime to ensure any abuse allegations would never see the light of day. Rachel and her siblings not only tried whistleblowing their own abuse, but are still to this day blowing the whistle on their father's involvement in the Beaumont child murder mystery case - which still to this day is one of Australia's most infamous unsolved murder mysteries. Rachel was able to escape the cult at 16 and ever since has been in the fight of her life to expose the crimes committed at the hands of her father and others - some of whom still walk free today. Rachel began speaking out to authorities in 2006 and after every avenue had been exhausted in getting her allegations investigated, Rachel took matters into her own hands and began speaking out publicly on podcasts and interviews in 2018. Rachel has now spoken on dozens of interviews and continues to bring awareness to her father's crimes and to shine a light on the horrors she experienced that she knows are still happening to innocent children to this day. If you missed Rachel's testimony episode or the ‘Spiritual Gifts and Psychic Abilities' panel episode we did, I'll have those linked in the show notes for you guys! Although Rachel's childhood may have looked like something straight out of a horror movie, what she has done with her experiences as an adult is nothing short of miraculous and awe-inspiring. Rachel not only overcame every barrier put in her path to ensure her silence, but she also took the spiritual gifts that were used to exploit her as a child and turned them into powerful ways to fight against the enemy and to teach and empower others how to do the same. Rachel's business, 6th Science, focuses on providing information, education and workshops centered around helping people understand and develop their own spiritual gifts while also finding their true purpose in life. Today, we are going to be learning about Rachel's path to reclaiming her spiritual gifts, how she's been using these gifts over the last 20+ years to make the world a better place, as well as a deep dive into some fascinating topics Rachel specializes in and teaches about in her Psychic Development Courses she runs year around such as auras and ley lines! We have so much to learn from Rachel and I ask that you please give her your full attention as we learn some new things together today! Support the show

Professor Carol Maher, from the University of Southern Australia, has found wearing an activity tracker really can encourage more physical activity. She tells Michael how the instant feedback allows people to take control of their activity levels. Michael learns the extra movement a tracker encourages can really help improve your brain power and reduce your risk of certain cancers and type 2 diabetes. In this episode, I introduce you to Wendy T. She's married with a 13 year old son, a 10 year old daughter, one cat and one dog. She lives in Southern Australia and owns 2 Air BNB's. Talking to Wendy gave me a lot of ideas about traveling to Australia, and how to fulfill my wish list. I hope Greg joins me in 2026! It was interesting to learn that Wendy found Organize 365® through the ADHD Podcast which brought her to the Sunday Basket® Podcast and then to the main podcast. In learning about the Sunday Basket®, she thought this could be the way to gain calm in her home. In 2020, Wendy was in the process of moving. She purchased the old The Productive Home Solution® and found permission to let go of things.  Back then it was the IDLE “process” and we laughed at the placement of the phone book mentioned. She'd experimented with Marie Kondo, but what she found different with Organize 365® were the systems, processes, and schedules. It was more than just decluttering.  Wendy used to have paper piles in each room and she'd throw papers in them thinking, “Oh yeah, I'll deal with it later.” When those paper piles started to disappear, that's when she knew Organize 365® was effective in her life. Our homes don't have administration offices like work, but Wendy saw her Sunday Basket® as a mini administration space. She could hold things in there until they needed to be dealt with. She loves the ability to think less and follows the tried and true systems of Organize 365®. We got on a shipping 2.0 conversation (1.0 was the Canadian shipping last episode), this time about Australia. This held Wendy back for a time. We feel selfish spending this money because it seems like it's for us. The reality is that the family eats better, the Sunday Basket® user is more calm, and the house runs more smoothly. We pay a lot of money for summer camps and soccer, we should spend money to maintain our homes too! After Wendy splurged on the Organize 365® products and shipping them to Australia, she realized it's like self care. She doesn't spend money on shoes or handbags; so this is her splurge. Wendy pointed out that because shipping is so high, she appreciates the planning and implementation days to still be part of organizing life with Organize 365®. Planning Day is where she learned about permission for something else…naps! The planning days brought us to discovering each other's calendars. Australians celebrate different holidays. Their seasons are different from ours. And their school year is different. This got me thinking about America's natural energy/cadence to organizing and how it matches up, or didn't in most cases, to Australia's. Her Golden Window is NOW! We determined Wendy's weather must be like that of Arizona's. It's summer now and can get up to 40 degrees C or 104 degrees F. It's also one of the busiest times for the Air BNB's with the gardens. She values her Friday Workbox® even more now with managing people. She's not doing so much physical work, but she is managing!  Wendy's advice is, “Go back to ‘Lisa Basics'. Give yourself grace. Done is better than perfect. Keep at it - chip away. Just start! It's just a habit. If you build the habit, it  just gets so much easier!”  EPISODE RESOURCES: The Sunday Basket® The Productive Home Solution® The Productive Home Solution® Planning Day The Paper Solution® Sign Up for the Organize 365® Newsletter  On the Wednesday podcast, I get to talk with members of the Organize 365® community as they share the challenges, progress, missteps and triumphs along their organizing journey. In 2020, however, the residents of Kalangadoo awoke to their area swarming with police officers, as a senseless and shocking incident took place overnight, an incident that would traumatise the entire area.SPONSORS -June's Journey: Thank you to June's Journey for sponsoring this episode! What do you do with a cold case that happened a lifetime ago when things like DNA testing and forensic genealogy didn't exist? If you're a professor at Adelaide University in Southern Australia, you do everything you can to solve it. In December 1948, a man was found dead on Somerton Beach in a suburb of Adelaide. Tucked inside the watch pocket in his pants was a slip of paper with Persian words printed on it which meant “finished.” Over the years, dozens of people tried to identify the man with no success, but Professor Derek Abbott, who enlisted California forensic genealogist Colleen Fitzpatrick, made it his mission in life to solve the case. My life-long attraction to the “exotic” began when Miss Trosen, my 5th grade teacher, introduced our class to the topic of evolution, complete with glossy illustrations of lumbering Neanderthals in hot pursuit of a woolly mammoth. This pivotal event, coincident with the receipt of my next-door neighbors' moldering stack of National Geographics, was all I needed to plot my future. For several years, I envisioned myself scaling Egyptian pyramids and hacking my way through the Amazon until realizing I'd be better off starting small, with local excursions. To that end, at age fifteen, I won parental approval to work as a teen model for the May Company, a large department store a mere three miles from my high school, but within view of the distant shores of beckoning adulthood. Emboldened, I lobbied for a chance to cruise Hollywood Boulevard on Saturday nights and audition to dance as a Gazzarri's “go-go girl” on the Sunset Strip. Only to be denied permission for both in no uncertain terms. As a last-ditch attempt, I hatched the preposterous idea of finishing high school at a Swiss boarding school. But, that, too, fell on totally deaf ears. My strivings took an academic turn as soon as I completed my first Anthropology class at UC Berkeley. Peoples and places I'd never heard of—the Tiwi of Southern Australia, the Trobriand Islanders of Polynesia and others—revealed how each life, each culture possesses an integrity of its own, as well as the keys to universal human truths. They and Anthropology called to me. Still eager to jump outside my cultural comfort zone, I joined my first true love, an archaeologist, on a six-month excavation in the Peruvian altiplano. Never did it dawn on me that our home-to-be might lack electricity and that the hair dryer I'd packed was nothing but dead weight. By the time I conducted my own Ph.D. research in a remote Maya Mam village in Guatemala years later, I was a far more seasoned and sobered fieldworker—traveling with only bare bone provisions, no hair dryer in tow. Throughout my undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley, graduate studies at Harvard University and UCLA, and early professional assignments, I repeatedly ventured into unknown territory—from interning at a San Francisco half-way house for paroled San Quentin felons to teaming with Nader's Raiders in Washington, D.C. to consulting on six major-release Hollywood films. I conducted cross-cultural marketing research for an Italian distillery famous for its “aperitvo digestif.” And, closer to home, hired on with an organizational development firm consulting to a Hughes Aircraft engineering division. Think of these eclectic postings as “urban anthropology.” I do. A fertile training ground for what was to come. My seamless, if sometimes unorthodox career path has lead me to my current incarnation as a nonfiction book author and a corporate historian—vocations that fit me to a tee and variously tap my expertise as an anthropologist, researcher, interviewer, writer and photographer. Life's unplanned detours have also inspired me to reach out to breast cancer patients and professionals across the United States as a patient ambassador and to teach English to Maya university students as a volunteer in Guatemala. But no matter where I am—from the far-flung corners of the globe to my own neighborhood—what I have come to value above all is that "exotic," unexpected wonder is everywhere, right before my very eyes.

Cities and Memory - remixing the sounds of the world

Thingvellir national park reimagined by Allis Hamilton. "This track is a conversation between midwinter, in my bushland home of Heron Cottage in Southern Australia, with that of the Iceland Thingvellir National Park. It is a song of the elements of rain and ice, wind and spirit.  "The night I first heard the Icelandic track was an evening of an enormous storm, a tornado of sorts, and the recordings I made of that fierce wind and the trees in my garden swaying and swirling in their unified response to the wind created my first thoughts for the music.  "Over the winter, through frosts, thunderstorms and rain I recorded the sounds of the natural world outside my squeaky front door. Alongside these I played some piano, ocarina; and added vocal layers laid like whispers on the wind over the footsteps of the other sounds, including the Icelandic recording which bookends the song alongside thunder and the calls of the mystical and mythic black cockatoos, the rain bringers."

This week Amber and Jennifer travel to Southern Australia to learn about the Leafy Seadragon (Phycodurus eques), also known as Glauert's seadragon or just Leafies. We didn’t literally travel there, you know cause there’s a pandemic going on, and Australia is really far away from us… The Leafy Seadragon is a marine fish much like the more well known Seahorse, and it derives it’s name from the mythical dragon. First, Potato head is a potato, and a plastic potato does not need to have a gender. So people, stop freaking out. Also, cancel culture has been used by both conservatives and liberals, so stop pretending that only one side is doing it.The leafy seadragon has appendages that give it the appearance of seaweed, providing the creature with the perfect camouflage. When swimming or just floating through the ocean, they appearing to move through the water like a piece of floating seaweed. Leafy seadragons are bad swimmers and need their camouflage to avoid predation. Like seahorses, the male leafy seadragon cares for the eggs. Leafy seadragons have lots of threats, both natural and man-made, and will not reproduce in captivity. Listen now to learn why Leafy Seadragons are better than human, and why they need to be conserved and protected. Amanda never set out to work in conservation, despite her lifelong fascination with the natural world, which interestingly started with geology. Instead, she went to Italy to study gastronomy, keen to impact people with good food and fine dining experiences. It was here though that she unleashed her true passion for the wild world, and after a year she left her foodie schooling to return home and pursue a Bachelors of Applied Science in Integrated Resource Management. Following the completion of her studies, Amanda dives into her career evolution, from working as a project officer for the International River Foundation, to becoming a Park Ranger in Southern Australia. She details how a handful of incredible people left a mark on her life that propelled her forwards into the job she loves, and then breaks down the ups and downs of life on the front line of conservation in one of the world's most harsh yet fragile environments. From fighting fires to managing accessibility, it was a gripping conversation.  Our chat concludes with a powerful message; that we can all play our part in protecting our local wild spaces, if only we are willing to step up and be bold.Contact Amanda:Linkedin: Amanda DudgeonInternational Ranger FederationThin Green LineNational Park Service

Does how you feel about a cut of steak or whether it is labelled “natural” impact how much you enjoy it? Our guest, Dr. Mark Miller shares his research on consumer beef preferences and how labels influence what we choose to eat. Dr. Mark Miller is the San Antonio Livestock Show Distinguished Chair in Meat Science at Texas Tech University. He has been instrumental in developing consumer thresholds for beef and holds two patents for the processes that improve beef tenderness and color with electrical stimulation. He is also passionate about meat judging and has coached numerous teams to seven national championships. Key points: How does price impact how we feel about the value of a product? Consumer preferences are the most important things to meat science. There is no good food or bad food. People’s preferences to eat or not eat are always right. It is the amount of foods or “dose” that can make the difference. Companies are trying to create market share through labels and messaging appealing to niche markets: “Natural” production claims have increased by 40% Organic production costs 25 - 30% more than conventional production. We should allow the market rather than marketing to decide what should be grown and produced.  Food production has to be affordable to everyone. Why would people pay so much more for beef than other meats? Beef is more expensive than chicken or other meats Eating a great cut of beef releases they same type of hormones in the brain as falling in love.  It is very satisfying. How do labels influence how we perceive beef? In an experiment, people rated several cuts of beef on tenderness, taste etc. Then they were fed the exact same cuts but they were labeled with terms such as organic, natural, hormone treated, etc. The labels created a bias that effected the enjoyment of the beef. What is the difference between conventional and grass-fed beef? New Zealand and Southern Australia are the best place in the world for grass production. They have grass in abundance and a favorable climate. In the U.S. there are only about 120 days per year that animals can graze. Grass-fed animals take 2.5 - 3 years to grow large enough. In the US we have corn and soy beans in abundance. Conventional fed animals grow to the same size in 14 months. Grass-fed beef is more expensive to produce.  It costs about $8 per pound compared to $2.90 per pound for conventional beef. The carbon foot print of conventional beef is about 45% of grass fed beef. Cattle like grain over grass.  What should we know about hormones in beef? In the U.S. we’ve been using hormones in beef production since 1957. We’ve already done the human case study for nearly 70 years.  There is not a single documented case of any health concern as a result. The additions of naturally occurring testosterone or estrogen encourages muscle growth. The amount of estrogen in cabbage is far greater than in treated beef. Anti-science propaganda make it sound scary. Working with Dr. Tyler Davis (featured in two previous episodes) on understanding reactions to marketing labels was life changing. Food choices create an emotional response.  Eating something that tastes bad creates a reaction that will last forever.  A great eating experience lasts too. 3 tips to overcome food bullying: Enjoy your point of view based on what you like to taste and eat. Don’t feel guilty. There are no good foods or bad foods.  It is all about how much you eat. Don’t believe anything that isn’t backed up by a peer-reviewed scientific study. Radical environmentalists are increasingly using militant rhetoric to make the case for a proverbial “War on Climate Change.” What else is the Green New Deal if not Total War – the complete mobilization of the American economy – against the boogeyman of man-made emissions?Myron Ebell (Director of Energy and Environment at the Competitive Enterprise Institute) notes that compared to the Green New Deal, even WWII and FDR's New Deal were moderate (WWII only lasted four years – the Green New Deal would be permanent). In other words, the GND is social engineering in green garb – naming “unjust oppression” as one of its ancillary targets, and using soviet-style central planning to achieve its objectives.Myron was a key figure in the Trump transition team who laid a foundation for the United States' withdrawal from the genuinely oppressive Paris Climate Accord. He and his colleague at CEI, Patrick J. Michaels, recently wrote an article for the Washington Examiner demonstrating the latest area where the eco-warriors have overplayed their hand.We are constantly lectured on a tenuous link between hot, dry weather and fires in places like California and Australia, yet misguided land management policies have created the very conditions which are now being blamed on climate change. Skeptics are labelled “deniers” by those who ignore a much clearer correlation between the prohibition of prescribed burns and the rise of mega-fires such as the one now devastating Southern Australia.California legislators would do well to remember this bit of native American wisdom: Fire is medicine. As the Guardian reports: “For more than 13,000 years, the Yurok, Karuk, Hupa, Miwok, Chumash and hundreds of other tribes across California and the world used small intentional burns to renew local food, medicinal and cultural resources, create habitat for animals, and reduce the risk of larger, more dangerous wild fires.”Groups like the Yurok Cultural Fire Management Council largely get a free pass for their counter-cultural environmental stewardship. Independent scholars like Myron and Patrick, however, have their motives and funding sources questioned by government-funded technocrats, whose budgets depend on dire predictions of impending doom. When will environmentalists wake up to the wisdom of the Australian aborigines and native Americans, to see that not all human intervention is bad?Myron joined the show of ideas for the full hour to discuss the problems with modern environmentalism and CEI's efforts to de-escalate on the latest fronts of the “climate change” battle.

Fib. which had bothered me with occasional episodes for some 20 years (once in the middle of Mongolia).   However this episode last year didn’t go away as had the others and eventually it resulted in a heart disease called Idiopathic Cardiomyopathy which I am told is incurable.   I was hospitalized and now have been advised by my cardiologist to avoid any strenuous exercise – a short bike ride or walk each day is all I am allowed to do. I purchased magnesium powder, but the problem of diarrhea hit me badly.   So when I read the book I was quite elated and to learn about ReMag and experience the relief so many people speak of – Len M, Australia In The Magnesium Miracle, Dr. Dean cites a study of young, healthy, well-conditioned men, noting that “strenuous effort was reported to give rise to persistent magnesium deficiency and a related long-term increase in cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood sugar.” The study results suggest “the decline of athletes and other intensely training individuals during  exertion is triggered by the detrimental effects of persistent magnesium deficiency on the cardiovascular system.” (The Magnesium Miracle, Kindle page 2133) Your personal trainer is unlikely to tell you about magnesium supplementation as part of your overall training program but Dr. Carolyn Dean will be happy to tell you all you need to know! With years of research and success behind her, Dr. Dean has proven to herself and many others than an effective regime of magnesium and mineral supplementation, along with amino acids like taurine, are a true game changer for any athlete - amateur or professional. Tonight on our internet based radio show, we'll be talking with Dr. Carolyn Dean about how to avoid becoming Sidelined by Magnesium Deficiency along with a wide range of health topics and safe solutions. You will love hearing the beneficial interactions with our callers and hosts alike including the body/mind connection, identifying the 'conflict' in the 'conflict basis' of disease and much more!!

Welcome to Secrets of Organ Playing Podcast #128! Today's special guest is John Higgins, who is the organist at St Andrew's Presbyterian church in Morwell, Victoria, Australia. John has been a guest a while ago on our podcast. We talked when he was living in another state of Southern Australia, in a small town called Whyalla. He has a tradition of playing Christmas concerts for his former congregation at Victor Harbor. John has been our loyal subscriber since the very beginning of this blog in the early 2012 and has since resurrected his passion for music and specifically for organ. He's an engineer by profession but through these years of organ practice, he's grown so much that now he has the skill to play for liturgy as well as recitals. Currently John is living in Traralgon, Victoria where he has moved with his family and I'm very excited to be able to talk to him about his recent Christmas concert that he played at Victor Harbor. Make sure you listen to the very end because you will get a lot of inspiration from John for the New Year. By the way, John will be coming to Lithuania! Yes, it's NOT a typo. He's scheduled to play a recital at Vilnius University St John's church this April. Ausra and I are very excited about being able to welcome him in Vilnius. Listen to the conversation And don't forget to help spread the word about the SOP Podcast by sharing it with your organist friends.

Finally, I follow up on a story about an aquaculture company who got in big trouble in Puget Sound for allowing Atlantic Salmon to escape their nets and invade the Pacific Ocean (it turns out it was their fault after all!!!).
