Watch this episode on YouTube! https://youtu.be/XQo6_RICA_o%5D (https://youtu.be/XQo6_RICA_o) In this episode of The Journal, I share why I left social media for 2+ months, how the journey of content catchup is helping me become a better video creator, and using the "wobble" I felt from social justice warriors with limited perspective to further my awakening on a spiritual level. I talk about rethinking who my friends are based on how they approached 2020, taking complete accountability responsibility for all at the highest of levels, the realization that it's all happening "for me" — to help me awaken at a soul level, and the subtle ways ego can manifest in myself. I share the new 2 stage process I've used to effectively edit my weekly vlogs in higher quality, and how incredible it feels to be levelling up the quality of my vlogs, my master plan for growth on my podcast and vlogs. After listening to myself talk for months on end, I share an honest evaluation of my communication style, the simple hack I'm using to stop swearing so much, and my ideal camera set up (which may or may not include a full frame camera, plus a point and shoot). I also discuss lockdown, my challenge with people not looking at the data, my guilty pleasure on YouTube and my new enjoyment of rap (???). But it's time was coming and I decided it was time to air a new series that is similar in many ways, and also very different. You'll notice there's no more dividers of the classic reflections based questions. I'll just be flowing through all the topics I have that I want to talk about on the agenda - while still sharing what's working, what's not, what I'm learning, and how I'm growing. It's a lot more natural and fun for you and I - just like a conversation should be.Because it's topic based, you'll find timestamps available to you to easily navigate the general topics you're looking for.As time goes on, this series will morph and change as I see fit - but you best believe it'll be spent by talking to you beautiful people in new ways but always with the core principles - staying vulnerable, sharing my truths and lessons, and making our time spent together useful. In this episode, we'll be discussing a whole host of topics including accountability, natural flow, reducing my fear of of SEO, creating a community of giving without expectation, natural evolution, my first week studying with Dr. Sue Morter, clearing debts, why you're not motivated and what you can do to fix it fast (hint: it's related to your goals or lack thereof), the trap of being attached to things going the way you "think" they should go, why the more I look at society the less I want to participate (and what the my alternative is), shooting my shot, what it was like to edit the Azel and Snails collab, why I'll be famous if I decide it's ideal for me, my first thoughts on Black Lives Matter, the first plan for my upcoming music spotify playlist, looking deeper, shooting for the moon, doing what I've been putting off, why I stopped Reflections and more. Please be patient with me as I figure out the new format - it takes me a few episodes to get the hang of it. You'll see what it becomes soon.In the mean time, in this episode I have no idea it's going to be the last episode of Reflections so it's business as usual.I talk about tapping into energy fields of parallel universes to create master plans, prioritizing correctly during your magic time, being too hard on myself, questioning everything in my life (including this series), imposter syndrome, why I considered discontinuing meaningful content, why I left apple music for spotify (and why I'm obsessed with spotify), why asking for help is hard but important, going low key insane from my environment, why I'm motivated to stop eating garbage food, the one thing I'm missing the most right now (momentum), why people look backwards, overcoming copyright challenges in music content, checking the box for others' approval vs. going all in for me, struggling with compassion for the world, my obsession with stroke icons, making Notion icons simple, broke vs. poor, approval vs. no disapproval and mixing house.I was having a challenging time with this episode but shortly after a lot changed. I was right, momentum is just what I needed. Taking the next step even when it's uncomfortable is truly a magic ingredient.Love you all. Your Rules Are Holding You Back

Recently I've been thinking a lot about the rules the world subscribes to. There's such a fear of doing things beyond the way they've always done so that we can stay within the confines of our boxes and rules, if you will. The challenge with staying in this box is that growth and learning aren't located here.In today's episode, I talk about breaking consistencies, experimenting even if you think it will fail, being creative by doing things slightly or very outside the norm, and more.I also get meta as I conduct real time experiments in this episode and break some consistent patterns in my content - because rules are meant to broken. It's time to evolve my content & my content strategy, one experiment at a time.Disrupt yourself. Experiment. Try new things. Do things differently. Create randomness. Have with things.Much love.--My links:Website: https://joshmoxey.comInstagram https://instagram.com/joshmoxeyFacebook https://facebook.com/joshmoxeyYouTube https://joshmoxey.com/ytTwitter https://twitter.com/joshmoxeyMusic:trfk - monday https://soundcloud.com/trfkmusic/monday

How To Avoid Building The Wrong Thing

I've had this challenge come up many times in my entrepreneurial journey. I start creating, design or working on a project, and then I convince myself that it's okay to use imaginary narratives instead of facing and working with actual reality. In this specific case, it meant that I was using mock data and pretend examples when I was designing a system that was supposed to be a perfect solution for my productivity challenges. Long story short, it didn't work out so well and I ended up creating the wrong productivity system. In this episode, I cover how to avoid building the wrong solution, why it's important to create, design and solve challenges using real world examples, data, use cases, situations and challenges in mind, as well as what happens if you don't. Save yourself some time and learn this lesson faster than I did, for the love of god. Please, do yourself a favour and take this advice to heart. I don't want you to waste your time and experience headaches because you put your head in the sand and create false narratives, like I have done too many times in the past. Much love, best of luck with this, and I hope you learn this lesson faster than I did. If you think someone could benefit from this message, share it with them. Music: trfk - Monday

I'm Giving You the Hard Truth Because I Care

I was slightly irritated in this. Irritated because I care at times, and sometimes too much. I want to give people hard truth, but sometimes their self esteem isn't high enough to handle it. I was calling a friend out because he was bullshitting himself, just as I would expect a friend to do to me, but he wasn't having it at all. In this episode, I rant about self esteem, how I wish the world wasn't so soft, why I give hard truth even though I don't want to, and my disinterest in sugar coating the truth for sensitive people. Hope this helps. It's heartbreaking to say that I'm quitting coding. It's been an incredible ride, and even though I'm not formally a web developer anymore, I will always use the mindsets, systems thinking, processes & all that I've learned. I'll also never actually stop coding in case that isn't clear, but it'll be just randomly here and there and it will be very far from the main focus. It's brought me so much joy, so much learning, and I'm insanely grateful for it. Next up with https://joshmoxey.com, moving it all to squarespace (whenever I make it a priority, that is). In this episode, I talk about putting down my developer badge, an example of sunk cost fallacy, leaving the past in the past, ego holding me back, caring what people think, avoiding external judgement, what I gained from my experience in web development, prioritizing what has the greatest impact and finally why it's time to pull the trigger and make the decision to stop working on web development. I'll love you forever, coding. The Possibilities Are Unlimited Within the Quantum Realm

First things first, I don't know a ton about the quantum realm. I'm purely a beginner. What I do know is that in my line of energy work/quantum healing, we work inside the quantum realm because time and space do not exist. It's an area in which unlimited possibilities exist, and the only limit is that which you for yourself. In this episode, I share an exciting potential use case that was presented to me around speed learning through quantum technology. A little bit out there, but I wanted to highlight this cool idea and share what kind of out there concepts I'm pondering at times. Appreciate you watching and listening. How To Have Challenging Conversations

The idea of giving hard truth, being “confrontational” and having challenging conversations has historically been difficult for me. Many times, I’ve just tried to avoid them all together. With the world being so sensitive and easily offended by the smallest of things, it is genuinely hard to give radical truth and radical transparency because most just can’t handle it. In this episode, I cover 3 keys to having difficult conversations, radical truth and transparency, focusing on what you can control, how you can make that conversation a win, and the deadly long term outcome that will manifest if you don’t have these challenging conversations: resentment. With that being said, this is an ongoing journey from me. This is just one man’s point of view and experience, and this is what I’ve found to work in the long term (not necessarily the short term). Things may be temporarily challenging in the short term with the advice I mentioned here, but I believe it is absolutely in the best interest of the relationship between you and the other person long term. I hope this brings you a ton of value. Let me know which point resonated most in the comments, and which you are most excited to apply. And if it brought you enough value, all I ask is that you share this with someone who could use this message. Maybe someone avoiding difficult conversations Music: trfk - monday https://soundcloud.com/trfkmusic/monday
