I have a fun episode to share with you today, and it's a little different than normal! I was a guest on my friend Sarah Zastrow's podcast, Throwing Wrenches Mending Fences, and it was a really powerful conversation that left me feeling so uplifted when I was done. I decided to share that interview with you this week, so you'll still get to hear from me, but also, you'll get to meet and learn from Sarah too (spoiler-she's amazing)! In this episode, we cover: My story of stepping into the farm/rural life + my discovery of the world of personal development, and all that has evolved since then How the pandemic was like an awakening for so many people, and really challenged us to take a closer look at our lives Finding joy, intentionality, and purpose in whatever season of life you're in + still pursuing your unique goals and dreams Taking time to be reflective and ask yourself the hard questions, even when it's uncomfortable Learning to operate from a place of peace and contentment instead of constant stress and chaos Finding balance in the day-to-day life (and why this doesn't mean everything is getting equal parts of your energy and focus) Why workaholism shouldn't be celebrated in agriculture + why it's SO necessary for farming families to set boundaries when it comes to work and family Bringing together the personal growth + business development for yourself with your farm, instead of keeping them totally separate Resources & Links: Download the Farm Stress Bundle The Gap and the Gain by Dan Sullivan & Dr. Benjamin Hardy [affiliate link] Learn more about ASCEND retreats and get on my email list to get all the updates! Meet Premela Deck, forensic social worker and family law attorney who owns a private practice in Canton, Massachusetts. It was engrained in her early on that families do not belong in court so when she pursued her law degree it was important to incorporate social work. She discusses the challenges of navigating her dual roles of lawyer and social worker which ultimately landed her in forensic mental health. In the family law arena this includes: child custody evaluations, parenting coordination, and reunification therapy. She describes the growth of her practice SD Family Services (SDFS) and their work with high conflict families. Key takeaways: -Diversification and consultation groups can be a helpful way to promote longevity in this field. -She is one piece of the puzzle and has developed faith in other professionals to do their part. -Proceed with caution because it is a litigious field. -Recommended BIFF by Bill Eddy and Mending Fences by Benjamin Garber. -Even if a co-parent is unwilling to engage an individual parent can still make meaningful changes. https://www.premeladeck.com https://sdfsmass.com https://www.facebook.com/SDFSMass/ https://www.instagram.com/sd_family_services/ https://www.linkedin.com/company/sdfamilyservices/ https://www.williamjames.edu/centers-and-services/forensic-and-clinical-services/children-families-law/court-ordered-classes.html --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/compassionate-climb/message
The plaintiff says the defendant is his obnoxious, rude neighbor. He claims the man had workers dig a trench on the plaintiff's property to put in a fence without permission. He's suing for what it will cost to clean it up. The defendant says he was trying to be neighborly by updating the fence bordering their properties. Then, the plaintiffs say they rented a room in the defendants' house, but there was an altercation and they moved out. Now the defendants refuse to return their deposit and rent, so they're suing. The defendants say they are pastors at the church and the plaintiffs are members. They says the plaintiffs fought nonstop and spread lies at church, so they're countersuing for defamation. Our call-in question this week comes from John, a manager in Washington. John's dealership has been doing well lately, but the owner of the store is rough with him regardless, and John can only take so much abuse. Chris and Christian recommend having a frank 1-on-1 conversation. John needs to be as transparent; it feels like no matter what he does, it's never good enough. The owner and the manager need to be on the same page and working towards the same goals, or else the issue will only get worse. Watch the full video for Chris' tips on framing the conversation. We chat about the steps to Encourage Forsythia to bloom indoors (some call it Forcing Forsythia, but encouraging sounds gentler) and how and when to plant your new plant babies. Dr. Elizabeth Wishnick, noted expert on Russia and China who focuses on international relations in Asia and Chinese foreign policy, analyzes the efforts of China to uphold its partnership with Russia and their shared interpretation of the invasion of Ukraine from the standpoint of perceived threat from the Western World. However, Wishnick also discusses how the invasion of Ukraine raises problems with good reputation and trade relations with Europe, something China wants. In addition, the invasion jeopardizes China's massive Belt and Road Initiative – its flagship program for ushering in infrastructure and commerce for Chinese-led economic growth in Asia, Africa, and elsewhere.Dr. Elizabeth Wishnick is a Senior Research Scientist in the China and Indo-Pacific Security Affairs Division at the Center for Naval Analysis, on leave from her position as Professor of Political Science at Montclair State University. She is also a Senior Research Scholar at the Weatherhead East Asian Institute at Columbia University. Her current research focuses on international relations in Asia and Chinese foreign policy. The plaintiffs allege that their neighbor damaged their fence with a car. The neighbors hired someone to fix it, but the fence guy did a horrible job, so the plaintiffs are suing the neighbors to fix the fence correctly. The defendants claim the plaintiffs are just trying to take advantage of them, and the fence looks perfect. The plaintiff says after she left her home in perfect condition, the defendant stole her security deposit, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant claims the house was super dirty and in terrible condition. The defendant argues that she doesn't owe the plaintiff a dime. The plaintiff says she purchased a sick puppy from the defendant, and she's suing for a refund. The defendant alleges she gave the plaintiff a perfect, healthy puppy, and the plaintiff is at fault for the canine's condition. The defendant is countersuing for slander. #PeoplesCourt #RealityTV #CourtSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Is someone in your life crossing your boundaries? The Popcaks are here to help you establish a healthier relationship dynamic.
The plaintiff lives next door to the defendant. She says the defendant hired a guy to trim a tree, but the tree guy damaged the plaintiff's fence. The plaintiff says the tree trimmers broke her fence and refuse to get it fixed. She's suing for property damage. The defendant argues the plaintiff complains about everything and didn't even know she was being sued. Then, the defendant is the plaintiff's friend and neighbor. The defendant needed money via PayPal, so he asked the plaintiff if he could borrow it and he would pay her back immediately. The plaintiff says the money was taken out of her account, but she has not been paid back, so she's suing. The defendant argues his iPad was stolen and the burglars broke into his PayPal account, so everything has been on hold. Plus, in the third case, the plaintiffs had three purebred bulldogs. They said their purchase contract requires the dogs to get neutered, but the defendants didn't have their dog fixed. The plaintiffs say the defendants refuse to return the puppy they got from the plaintiffs, so they're suing for breach of contract. The defendants say the agreement only requires the dog to get fixed if they wanted their American Kennel Club paperwork, which they have no interest in. They argue they don't want to neuter the dog because it changes the dog's temperament, and they don't plan on breeding it. Don't forget to rate and subscribe so you never miss an episode.
