Lisa Einstein, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency's senior adviser for artificial intelligence, has been named the agency's first chief AI officer. Einstein, a Stanford and Princeton graduate, joined CISA in 2022 as executive director of its Cybersecurity Advisory Committee. CISA Director Jen Easterly highlighted Einstein's role in the agency's AI advancements, calling her an inspirational leader. Einstein will continue to build AI expertise within CISA and leverage AI technology to support critical infrastructure. The agency uses AI for various applications, including the Automated Indicator Sharing program, which processes cyber threat indicators and defensive measures. In other news, the General Services Administration hosted an AI hackathon across three cities: Washington, D.C., Atlanta, and New York City. Participants from both the public and private sectors worked on solutions for federal agency websites. GSA leaders, including Administrator Robin Carnahan, CIO David Shive, and Chief Data and AI Officer Zach Whitman, discussed the importance of collaboration and access to AI tools. Whitman noted the agency's efforts to unblock AI tools and ensure data and privacy protection within a controlled environment. Following President Biden's AI executive order, GSA has allowed staff to apply for AI tool use for non-sensitive applications, enhancing innovation while managing risks. The GSA has announced an AI-themed hackathon, inviting the public to reimagine federal websites using artificial intelligence and cloud tools. Co-sponsored by OpenAI and Microsoft, the event will provide participants with access to large language models, coding technologies, and AI response consistency features. Scheduled for July 31 in Washington, D.C., Atlanta, and New York City, the hackathon aims to prepare federal websites for a future where Americans rely on generative AI tools for information and services. A $10,000 prize pool will be awarded to winning participants and teams. Additionally, GSA has named Larry Bafundo as the executive director of the Technology Modernization Fund (TMF). Bafundo, who previously served as TMF's deputy executive director, has extensive experience in leading complex digital initiatives in both the public and private sectors. His appointment comes amidst calls from federal IT leaders and lawmakers to revitalize the TMF program, which is nearing the end of its America Rescue Plan funding.

In this episode of Dealership Fixit, we go round 2 with Shaun Raines from Hired Guns to expand our AI Hackathon conversation from Digital Dealer 2023 to create a mini campaign for the 2024 Harley-Davidson Street Glide launch. Youtube Link: https://youtu.be/UMZDP7pCMUA Link to presentation: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bifgkOMT3_HWV8suaf7QdyxJbCmopfxB/view?usp=drive_link It was fun going through Shaun's 60-minute master class of using ChatGPT, MidJourney and Gamma to build a story, blog and headlines prompts to build a strategy. We first used ChatGPT to get some ideas going over where we should start and how it should sound. I covered some points from this zapier article: https://zapier.com/blog/train-chatgpt-to-write-like-you/ We got some prompts and a working model for how we can move into creating some images with MidJourney. We had to play with the prompts and choose from some different variations but it looked great in the end! Finally we moved over to Gamma and provided it with all the content and material we had chosen to use. The program, in seconds, populated a fantastic looking landing page with CTA's and big colored buttons. We loaded our new graphics into it and was able to “massage” it into place that turned out awesome. Make sure to check out the link! Don't forget to subscribe and follow for weekly updates! In this episode, catch up with Shaun Raines from Dealer Superhero and Jacob Berry's recap of the 2023 Digital Dealer Expo and the AI Hackathon project we worked on during the event. The AI Hackathon, imagined by Brent Wees, was to create an entire marketing campaign for a 2024 vehicle launch. There were 10 teams working on the project and it was timed with a strict set of requirements. Our team was the only team to come up with a fictitious car “The Homer” from The Simpsons show while the other teams used an existing Toyota or Ford model to launch their 2024 program. We used a variety of tools working and interchanging from one to the other, here is a list of ones we used or wanted to used: ChatGPT Canva Gamma Veed.io Momento Capcut Otter.io Jasper (Jarvis) Mixo Riverside Designs.ai Grammerly We had so much fun and it was fun to work with all sorts of people to create this project in a short period of time. We all learned something and came away with a broader range of skills on how we can use some of these tools at the dealerships. Not just in marketing but can be used in sales, service, parts, inventory, business, ideas, concepts and anything else that you can think of. Stay tuned for our next round with Shaun Raines, a Dealer Superhero that's always helping find solutions to dealers problems. Don't forget to subscribe and follow for weekly updates! Many people say DevOps is dead with the introduction of serverless. Responsibilities change from infrastructure management to platform engineering. But what happens when you throw generative AI into the mix? How does this shake up what we now know as DevOps and what does it hold for the future? Is DevOps going to die? Omkar and Allen talk about the human aspect of DevOps and debate if this will still be something we're practicing in 5 years. About OmkarOmkar Kadam is a Lead DevOps Engineer at Cactus Communications, an AWS Community Builder, and a passionate problem solver with exceptional Solution Architecture skills. With a knack for simplifying complex concepts, Omkar's expertise in AWS/Cloud Computing allows him to deliver innovative and scalable solutions. In addition to his technical prowess, Omkar has a passion for mentoring others. He has been a mentor for the prestigious UNESCO India Africa Hackathon, an international event aimed at strengthening the bonds between India and African nations and solving real-life problems via technology. Through mentoring, Omkar has helped aspiring developers and technologists reach their full potential.
