Disney estrenó esta semana una nueva miniserie de alto presupuesto del universo de superhéroes de Marvel: Invasión secreta. Y este lanzamiento dio mucho que hablar, no por la calidad del contenido o por las actuaciones de estrellas como Samuel L. Jackson, sino porque en ella se utilizó inteligencia artificial generativa. La producción de Invasión secreta contrató a un estudio para desarrollar la introduccción con los créditos de la serie, eso que muchos espectadores se saltean con el botón de “omitir intro”. Y ese estudio, en vez de contratar artistas visuales, recurrió a herramientas de IA para elaborar lo que se buscaba. El director de Invasión secreta, Ali Selim, dijo que por los temas que se tratan en la serie que tiene que ver con seres alienígenas que se hacen pasar por humanos- les parecía interesante la sensación extraña de que el comienzo fuera con arte no generado por personas reales. Pero enseguida se generó una importante polémica desde el punto de vista de ética laboral. Por comparación, la introducción de otra serie del mismo universo cinematográfico, Jessica Jones, empleó a una veintena de artistas visuales, mientras que en la de Invasión secreta aparecen acreditados solamente ocho. Además de por la cantidad de puestos de trabajo que pueden perderse, hay todo un aspecto filosófico con respecto al arte generado por IA. ¿Puede considerarse arte una obra si en ella no hay humanos involucrados?
