Timestamps:00:00:00 Nerd Culture #21000:01:55 Wat gaan we vandaag doen? 00:03:43 Comment van de week!00:12:01 Wat hebben we gekeken/gelezen/geluisterd?00:12:16 Black Bag00:15:38 Slow Horses00:18:28 Mission: Impossible Death Reckoning00:19:38 Mission: Impossible The Final Reckoning00:29:40 Ted Lasso00:35:29 The Sopranos00:43:32 One Day (Emma en Dex)00:48:14 De Poolse Bruid00:54:37 The Last of Us S201:00:49 Not Just a Goof01:02:28 Atlanta: S8 E401:04:40 The Fountain of Youth 01:07:36 Volgende film Tom Cruise wordt brute actie komedie01:11:37 (Nieuwe) Jurassic World Rebirth Trailer01:14:39 Avengers Doomsday en Secret Wars officieel uitgesteld, krijgen we een nieuwe kersttraditie?01:16:18 Het DC Universe gaat chronologisch lopen.01:21:20 Documentaire Shia LaBeouf laat mensen weglopen op Cannes01:23:59 Michael Bay werkt aan Skibidi Toilet film01:27:27 Avatar 2 weer in de bioscoop voor Avatar 301:29:57 A24 en The Pebble gaan samen meer films maken01:32:04 James Bond gecast?01:34:11 Gaan we nog even naar Tom Cruise kijken deze week en deze week hebben we een popcorn etende Tom Cruise
Marvel fans, get ready! On this episode of The Kristian Harloff Show, Kristian is joined by co-hosts Coy Jandreau and Winston Marshal to break down the MASSIVE news: Marvel Studios has officially delayed AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY and AVENGERS: SECRET WARS release dates! The end of the Multiverse Saga is now coming later than expected, and we're diving deep into what this means for the entire MCU. Disney and Marvel Studios have announced that Avengers: Doomsday has been moved from May 1, 2026, to December 18, 2026. And Avengers: Secret Wars, meanwhile, will now open on December 17, 2027, after it was originally scheduled for May 7, 2027. While there's disappointment, were there telltale signs that Avengers: Doomsday might be delayed? We discuss why this feels like the right move, potentially giving both movies more time to shoot, increasing the odds of more actors being able to appear (like Tom Holland's Spider-Man!), and vastly extending that all-important post-production time. We also touch on the removal of an "Untitled Marvel Movie" from February 13, 2026, and other MCU title date changes. But the burning question is: What happens to SPIDER-MAN 4 now?! With "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" no longer opening between Doomsday and Secret Wars, we explore what this means for Spidey's next adventure and if it's more likely to be a street-level story. Could this be the perfect opportunity for the web-slinger? We're also tackling a huge RUMOR: The Russo Brothers are casting the MCU's new GHOST RIDER for AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY! Jeff Sneider confirmed that Marvel Studios and the Russos are in the process of casting the Spirit of Vengeance. Could we see Ghost Rider join the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four on screen against Doctor Doom? We'll discuss Ryan Gosling's previous comments about the role! Plus, we've got updates on the upcoming Disney+ series, VISION QUEST! Showrunner Terry Matalas confirms the show's place in the MCU timeline, revealing it directly follows White Vision's journey after WandaVision. We'll also break down the full list of confirmed writers for this highly anticipated series. OUR SPONSORS: TURTLE BEACH: Head to TurtleBeach.com and use code KRISTIAN for 10% off your entire order. What's up, nerds? This week on the podcast, Maryland Phil joins me for a deep dive into Marvel's Thunderbolts—or the New Avengers? We unpack our thoughts and feelings on the recent film, including our personal ratings out of 10 and what the name change might signal for the MCU's future. We take a closer look at each character's arc and background, drawing comparisons to Suicide Squad along the way. Our conversation expands into a broader critique of the MCU's various phases, its growing collection of TV shows, and how the Multiverse Saga might eventually wrap up. From standout character development to some serious storytelling missteps, we break it all down with our “Good, Bad, and Ugly” segment. And because we can't help ourselves, there's also a random sidebar about Tim Burton. It's chaotic, nerdy, and packed with opinions—just the way we like it. Will you learn more than you bargained for about Bill's college love life? All this and more will be revealed, but, before that, the guys dive into the recent news that Bernthal will be returning as both star and co-writer of a Disney Plus Punisher special, planned to air alongside Daredevil: Born Again S2, next year.Come back next month for their installment of their Marvel's Zombie Era, featuring reviews of 1998's Blade (available on VOD), 2002's Blade II (available on VOD), and 2004's Blade: Trinity (available on VOD)!

The MCU is once again in the spotlight as major Avengers: The Kang Dynasty leaks have surfaced online—and we're diving into everything we've learned. On today's episode of The Kristian Harloff Show, we break down the original plan for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, its evolution into Avengers: Doomsday, and what it all means for Marvel Phase 5, Secret Wars, and the future of the Multiverse Saga. Marvel Studios seems to have scrapped Kang as the main villain in favor of Doctor Doom—and for good reason. After Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania flopped and Jonathan Majors' legal issues became a major concern, insiders say the studio lost faith in the Council of Kangs storyline. Now, with Stephen McFeely rewriting both Avengers 5 and Secret Wars, and the Russo Brothers returning to direct, the entire direction has shifted. We're breaking down the leaked Kang Dynasty script that includes wild reveals like a Moon Knight team-up, Miles Morales' MCU debut, a Deadpool 3 crossover, and even a Spider-Man: No Way Home reunion. Plus, what role was Doctor Doom supposed to play before becoming the central threat in Avengers: Doomsday? And how does this affect the lead-in to Avengers: Secret Wars? Other stories covered: Captain America: Brave New World nears $200M at the domestic box office. A Working Man dominates Snow White in a surprise upset. Warner Bros. shakeups and early talks of new leadership. First reactions for The Minecraft Movie are in—and they're surprisingly mixed but intriguing. AND — in a massive shift — Warner Bros. has completed the worldwide sale of Coyote vs. Acme to Ketchup Entertainment. Yes, the previously shelved, fan-beloved Looney Tunes film is back! The Wile E. Coyote movie—starring Will Forte, John Cena, and Lana Condor, directed by Dave Green and written by Samy Burch—was shelved for tax reasons despite strong test screenings. But now it's getting a theatrical release in 2026, with Ketchup shelling out close to $50 million for the rights. Produced by James Gunn, this film has become symbolic of Hollywood's internal battles between artistry and cost-cutting. Marvel. DC. Box office drama. Studio shakeups. Leaks. Come for the nerd news—stay for the chaos.

We'll also share our MCU rankings and talk about the state of the MCU right now.(Song: Colossal x 2 Chainz, Larry June, Alchemist)
In this special episode of the podcast, Mike is joined by TJ Stukes from Squid Game to discuss what they liked and what could have been improved about the first Captain America movie starring Sam Wilson, including its ramifications (if any) with respect to the Multiverse Saga and the overall future of the MCU.
Captain America: Brave New World marks the beginning of the second half of The Multiverse Saga. This installment weaves long-dangling threads from 2008's Incredible Hulk, events from Captain America: Civil War, and a world-shifting revelation from Eternals into an action-forward political thriller. In keeping with early Captain America storylines, Brave New World blends its “state of the sociopolitical landscape” level-set into a plot driven by high-stakes mission and a changing of the political guard. If you're coming into Captain America: Brave New World off of a (re)watch of The Falcon and the Winter Solider series, temper those expectations. In director Julius Onah's (Luce) film, Wilson may no longer be conflicted about assuming the mantle of Captain America; but he is wrestling with his role in the US military industrial complex, the pressure to be an unassailable Black hero, and taking repeated hits to his sense of self in an anti-Black system. It's a subtle (often too subtle), but intentional, schism at play throughout the entire movie. But it pays to remember, Sam Wilson's tenure as Captain America has just begun. This is not the moment he shakes off the fetters of respectability. Just like in the comics, Wilson's path forward is a more measured and pragmatic approach to combating inequity and defending against evil; seeming to operate within the realm of current reality rather than aggressively rejecting and dismantling oppressive ideologies and their attendant institutions. As a veteran and counselor (who specialized in helping other veterans suffering from PTSD) he openly advocated for the necessity of harm mitigation while carving out sustainable solutions. He still believes that despite the obstacles and judgment that we (society) can do better. Think John Lewis, not Stokely Carmichael. And that fact alone will be reason enough for some viewers to bounce off Brave New World. Captain America: Brave New World opens in theaters February 14, 2025 ♦♦ Director: Julius Onah Writers: Rob Edwards, Malcolm Spellman, Dalan Musson, Julius Onah, Peter Glanz Starring: Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Carl Lumbly, Xosha Roquemore, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, Harrison Ford Runtime: 118 Minutes Synopsis: Sam Wilson, the new Captain America, finds himself in the middle of an international incident and must discover the motive behind a nefarious global plan. Hello and welcome to Bill vs the MCU! Each month your hosts Pop Break Podcasting Director Alex Marcus and Pop Break Editor in Chief Bill Bodkin are taking another step into the wider Marvel Multiverse as the MCU dives deeper into their Multiverse Saga. Bill & Alex spent all of 2022 rewatching the first four phases of the MCU, and, in the years since, they have covered all of Netflix's The Defenders Saga, the first four seasons of ABC's Agents of SHIELD, and all 14 films in Fox's X-Verse. Now they are back doing what they do best, making sense of Phase V of the MCU! First, Bill & Alex speculate about that asterisks in Thunderbolts* and wonder how the film might be able to wrap up the messy peaks and valleys of Phase V. After that, stick around for an in depth discussion of how Marvel's Echo fared upon rewatch and whether those twisty turns of Agatha All Along play as well after the big secrets have been revealed. Come back next month for their grand finale to our 2024 coverage, with our third annual Fiege Awards, and start prepping for their new season, Marvel's Zombie Era: Part 1, which will feature reviews of 2003's Hulk (available on VOD), 2003's Daredevil (available on Disney Plus), and 2005's Elektra (available on MAX), which kicks off this March!
Bill & Alex spent all of 2022 rewatching the first four phases of the MCU, and they just spent 2023 covering the first phase of Netflix's The Defenders Saga and the first four seasons of ABC's Agents of SHIELD. This year, they journeyed into Fox's X-Verse with their X-Treme X-Watch. Now they are back with their Defenders Disassembled miniseries, where they take a tour through all the final seasons of every Marvel Netflix series as they get ready for the triumphant return of Matt, Karen, Foggy, and Frank in Daredevil: Born Again this spring. First, Bill & Alex were inspired by the recent news that Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell will be returning to the MCU for Avengers: Doomsday to give their Top 5 dead or retired Avengers that they most want to see return for the Avengers sequel coming in 2026. After that, stick around for an in depth discussion of the third and final season of Marvel's Jessica Jones. They catch you up on what you may have missed from season two of the series, before diving into whether Jessica Jones vs a Serial Killer felt like a fresh take on Jones' neo-noir roots or a last ditch effort to recapture the magic of season one. Watch along with us! Next episode's titles are Echo and Agatha All Along (available to stream on Disney+), which will be covered in our episode this January.

Now they are back with their Defenders Disassembled miniseries, where they take a tour through all the final seasons of every Marvel Netflix series as they get ready for the triumphant return of Matt, Karen, Foggy, and Frank in Daredevil: Born Again this spring. First, Bill & Alex won't be doing a proper MCU check in episode until January, when they review Echo and Agatha All Along after they've wrapped up their Defenders coverage, but, recently Marvel Studios released a full rundown of everything to expect from Marvel on Disney Plus in 2025 and released a few new film trailers at their D23 event in Brazil. The 2025 slate of projects include three animated series, three live action series, and, over on the big screen, three feature films, for a total of nine Marvel projects over the next twelve months, and Bill & Alex decided to rank how hyped they are for each. After that, stick around for an in depth discussion of the third and final season of Marvel's Daredevil. The season pays off the cliffhanger that ended The Defenders, answering the question just how Matt survived an entire skyscraper falling on him and only to wake up being tended to by nuns. It also brings back Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk and sets up a showdown between Matt and a new foe with killer aim who may or may not be the comic character known as Bullseye. Watch along with us! Next episode's title is Jessica Jones S3 (available to stream on Disney+), which will be covered in our episode later this December.
This week, Alex & Dan take to the sofa with all the receipts, talking through life in the MCU since the highs of 2019's Avengers Endgame. From directors just needing a payday, dodgy VFX to challenging actors and lawsuits - a revised Multiverse Saga, a huge investment in old and familiar faces and a pause - and in some cases indefinite one - on TV and Film projects! What's next for Marvel Disney in the next few years - and are there enough of us left to care anymore? Sit back, relax and join in on the debate - the fate of our very universe depends upon it! #GITS

First, a new MCU show is here! Agatha All Along is out and blowing up Disney Plus. Alex & Bill will give you their customary season rewatch treatment of the show in a few months, along with a look back at Echo, but, with this being the tenth Marvel Studio's TV series of the Disney Plus era, the guys thought it might be fun to take a quick tour through the last three and a half years by ranking every Disney Plus MCU series so far. After that, stick around for an in depth discussion of the surprisingly improved second and final season of Iron Fist, wherein even Danny Rand slowly comes to realize he kind of sucks and Jessica Henwick's Colleen Wing is the true star and we meet yet another Marvel TV Ward. Watch along with us! Next episode's title is Daredevil S3 (available to stream on Disney+), which will be covered in our episode later this month.

Part 2 of their coverage has been a bit delayed, as they took some time to review Deadpool & Wolverine, react to the shocking news that RDJ will be playing Doctor Doom in 2026's Avengers: Doomsday, and Bill took a much needed trip to Disneyland! First, check out Bill's walk through of everything he experienced at Avengers Campus during his Disneyland trip. Then, stick around for an in depth discussion of the criminally underrated second and, sadly, final season of Luke Cage, wherein Luke's morality is tested as his personal relationships feel the strain of his vigilante life and Harlem is overrun by a bitter family feud between Alfre Woodard's Mariah Stokes Dillion and Bushmaster, the leader of a Jamaican crime family. In this episode of the "Giant Mess" podcast, movie lover Neal Lynch recaps and reviews Deadpool and Wolverine, the most Deadpool movie in the history of Deadpool, a meta buddy comedy that ushers in the Mutant Era of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Deadpool and Wolverine is the first R-rated movie in the MCU, the first R-rated movie directly distributed under Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, and the first R-rated movie to cross $200 million domestically in its opening weekend. Cast Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson / Deadpool: A wisecracking mercenary from Earth-10005 with accelerated healing but severe scarring over his body after undergoing an experimental regenerative mutation to treat terminal cancer Writer Rhett Reese described Deadpool as a fish-out-of water in the film, a lunatic dropped into the "sane world" of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Hugh Jackman as James "Logan" Howlett / Wolverine: A former member of the X-Men and a mutant with healing abilities, retractable claws, and an adamantium-infused skeleton. Matthew Macfadyen as Mr. Paradox: A Time Variance Authority (TVA) agent who oversees an unsanctioned project to speed up the death of Earth-10005 by using the "Time Ripper", a machine which can mercy kill timelines. Paradox hopes to prove himself with this to become the leader of the TVA.Synopsis: Deadpool is offered a place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by the Time Variance Authority, but instead recruits a variant of Wolverine to save his universe from extinction. Deadpool's peaceful existence comes crashing down when the Time Variance Authority recruits him to help safeguard the multiverse. He soon unites with his would-be pal, Wolverine, to complete the mission and save his world from an existential threat.
