Getting your book noticed takes more than just telling people about it through social media. In this podcast, we suggest alternative ways for you to promote your book. A good book press release can work wonders if you choose your media wisely.
Bernard Khoury is a world renowned architect and a truly unique character. Bernard starts by telling us the story behind his first project, designing the nightclub B018 (1:08) and what influenced his work early on (5:53). He then talks to us about how architectural education has to be reassessed internationally (12:59), modern architecture becoming a pale representation of culture & politics (15:16), the details behind his first 6 projects (23:34), continuously thriving in unstable Lebanese conditions (25:36), and focusing his work on manipulating situations in a “perverted” manner. We then discuss his buildings being severely damaged by the Beirut bomb (34:20), how his projects are a result of his political surroundings (40:05), the end of the unsustainable real-estate era in Lebanon (43:49), and his future endeavours (48:39).
On this episode of the Campaign Builder, Dan and Adam sit down to give you some solid advice about using NPC's. Or do they? This week is all about characters who may or may not be able to be trusted, how to keep the players from killing them, how to encourage trust or breed mistrust, and tactics for Dungeon Masters to use when designing ambiguous Non-Playable Characters. Takeaways:- Unreliable NPC's add a weight to a campaign that may make players pay more attention to what's happening around them.- A lot of adventuring parties like to kill unreliable NPC's, so make certain that you have some tactic for endearing the NPC to the party before they reveal that they're unreliable.- Too much confidence or not enough confidence can make players stop and question whether or not an NPC is as useful as they might appear at first.- A Non-Playable Character with a sense of humour is a great way to keep the players defending the NPC, regardless of their reliability.- Sometimes having a character that seems too good to be true is enough to make the party incredibly suspicious of any help they may offer.- Having strange customs or a language barrier may also provide confusion that will keep the players guessing about an NPC's reliability and motivation. We are extremely excited to welcome this man to the show! With releases on Perlon, Karat Records, Spectral Sound, Süd Electronic and upcoming on Rhythm Cult, Portable has appeared on a string of highly credible imprints. Spending his early years in Cape Town, he moved to London, followed by Lisbon, before finally settling in Berlin. He has also reated his Bodycode alias - somewhere between the beats for the body and melody for the soul - layering tech-funk with wisps of melody, heady effects, and a liberal wash of otherworldly vocal samples. His alter-ego maybe? Enjoy this exclusive recording of his live set at Live At Robert Johnson. Brilliant!
It all started out as a mild curiosity in a junkyard. Time to review the highlights and low-points of The First Doctor.
This episode is a short PV2 episode with PV2 speaker and multiple time guest on this show Javan Bernakevitch. This is an episode about person journeys. How many people, including myself, are in this place, Island A, and we want to go to that place that we dream about Island B. In this episode we take an in depth look at the journey that many people are on. Like many people out there I am on this journey to change my life in a way that I do work that I am passionate about and that I believe in, call it work that matters. But I know first hand that it is easy to say, but hard to make that a reality. Especially when you need that work to cash flow, think kids, mortgage, living expenses. Living the permaculture dream isn't easy. I get it. This episode get's pretty real and pretty passionate for me. As a result, this episode has some swearing in it. Not much, but some. So if you can't handle it, don't listen. Show Notes: permaculturevoices.com/b018

We have Blond:ish serving up this month guestmix: fueled by their sharp taste-maker instincts and technical flair, Blond:ish has not only charmed the industry masses but set themselves to release on some of the most notable labels around like Noir Music, NM2 and Get Physical. Their sounds are a mix of provocative basslines contrasted with smooth textures and sticky vocals that blend into a genre of house that rebels against being pigeonholed to any specific category. We continue..
Meet Charlie, Alex, Thomas and Malin. All 4 of them are Lazare Hoche. So, meet Lazare Hoche. Raw and Honest House Music. Simply. On the guestmix this week with Ronin & Nesta.
Corporate slave by day, DJ by night: some people call it a contradiction, Hisham Zahran calls it getting the best of both worlds. Alongside his Brother and production partner Adham Zahran, Hisham has been consistently seeing releases on labels such as Mood Music, Audio Tonic, White Rabbit Records and many more. We invite him to the show celebrating together 6 years of Beirut In The Mix already.. 6 years?! Yeah, that's pretty exciting.
For our next episode we welcome Adam Port. Here's the deal: the common contemporary DJ/Producer steals an Underground Resistance-Record from his older brother at the age of 16 (biographical details may vary, not to impair the facts, though), thus presuming to have found the holy grail (what, of course, nobody is claiming to deny). His world is shrinking down to Detroit, Chicago, New York and Berlin within the following years, he’ll equip himself with records and turntables and not look over the rim of his MKII ever again. Here's his 1 hour ear candy guestmix ahead of his gig at Sporting Club this Saturday!
Next up we have Audiobirdz on the guestmix! Hailing from Amsterdam, Adam Hamidat & Jeffrey Cruz aka Audiobirdz are excellent producers and DJs; these guys have been making waves lately on labels such as Carnivale, Phat Elephant and Strangelove Records. They are taking control of the show this week with their raw and emotively charged house. Get ready for a promising musical trip coming your way.. straight from the city of lights!
Without any doubt our Sonar 2012 highlight: born and raised in Istanbul, studied in London, relocated to Paris in 2005, and actually Berlin-Based (ouf!), the unpredictable Tolga Fidan is our guest for this installment.. His musical interest organically morphed into deep techno, signed exclusively with Vakant, and became the label’s youngest-ever artist. Also don't forget to catch him live at the One Night In July party at Sporting Club on Friday the 13th with local heroes Ronin & Nesta, Phil, Diamond Setter and Ladybug.. summer is here!
