Wild Bill continued his aggressive push to expand the company moving into the UK market and even the coin-op space. This unfortunately led Sid to step back from the company and become a contractor. Captain Kidd sailed for long island sound, entered it from the eastward end and made for new york cautiously anchoring in oyster bay nowadays uh seditiously avoided by male factors of great wealth it was his purpose to open negotiations with belmont at long range if you don't know captain's kids story you can definitely find out more i'm just gonna focus on what's relevant to us belmont was a governor of massachusetts who was his former uh who was his partner however he was going after kid and kid wasn't sure whether to trust him or not so he opened a negotiation with the lord belmont at long range holding his treasure as an inducement for a pardon to be pardoned from being a pirate being at least labeled a pirate from oyster bay he sent a letter to a lawyer in new york james emmat emmod who had before then defended pirates and also a message to his wife emma was asked to serve as a go-between and he hastened to join kate on the sloop explaining that belmont was in boston there upon the antonio this is the sloop the kid was using it's actually called saint antonio or saint anthony it's the same slew so antonio waded anchor and sailed westford westward as far as narragansett bay now this is why i was quoting this because this definitely talks about him being in narragansett bay some of the events i'm presenting here are the same events but are presented from different accounts with different point of view and with additional information so i'm not repeating myself i'm just adding information which is very useful for us treasure hunters kid suspected belmont's intentions and decided to leave his treasure in safe hands instead of carrying it to boston with him now follows the documentary narrative of the authenticated buried treasure of captain kid at the eastern end of long island sound is a beautiful wooden island of tree of three thousand acres which has been owned by the gardiner family as a manor manor since the first of them lionel gardner obtained a royal grant almost three centuries ago in june of 1699 john gardner third of the line of proprietors cited a strange sloop anchored in his island harbor and rolled out to make the acquaintance of captain william kidd who had crossed from narragansett bay in the san antonio what happened between them and how the treasure was buried and dug up is told in the official testimony of john gardner dated july 17 16 99 i quote before we fall to digging up the treasure of gardner's island carried a short in the chest of box of gold it is well to follow those other goods which were carried away in the sloops about which so much has been said by the said john gardner now all of the plan that transfer from kit sloop to those other craft work was cosigned to him and some of it was put ashore at stamford connecticut in charge of a major seller who had a warehouse hired by the sound clark was arrested by order of belmont and gave a bond of 12 000 pounds that he was delivered up all up to the government this he did without doubt but the legend has been busy with this enterprising whisking club so in the connecticut river of the upper end of pine meadow near northfield massachusetts is clark's island which was granted by the town to william clark in 1686 and confirmed to his ears in 1723 it then contained 10 and 3 4 acres and was a secluded spot well covered with trees later what with cutting of the woods and the work of the freshers a large part of the island was washed away it was here traditional hazard that some of the kids treasure was hidden by whisking clark the local story is that kid and his men ascended the river though how they got over the series of falls is not explained and made a landing at clark's island here having placed the chest in a hole they sacrificed by lot one of the number and laid his body on top of the treasure in order that his ghost might forever defend it from the fortune secrets on october 20th 1699 belmont wrote in a letter to england i have prevailed with --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/treasure-revealed/support

Captain kid part III Governor Belmont sent his men with picks and shovels down to Gardner's island where they uncovered 11 bags of gold dust gold coins ingots bars silver bars coins buttons silver pieces plus 17 ounces of diamonds rubies emeralds of value at about 100 000 today it would be a staggering amount and so he posted away a message to rhode island governor cranston and cardinal stanford to make a strict search of all pirate captain thomas paine's house at canonical island before he could have noticed belmont later reported that it seems nothing was found at paint's house but payne has since produced 18 ounces of gold as appears by governor chrysler's letter and he pretends it was bestell bestowed on him by kid i am of opinion that he has a great deal more of kids goods still in his hands how right belmont was for the treasures set deep in the dirt on the paint's house for 192 years apparently payne just couldn't spend at all in his lifetime belmont also sent a message to the authorities in connecticut to seize and send thomas clark a prisoner to new york accused of transporting kids crew and treasure into connecticut colony barmon also had major select warehouse at stamford search but none of kid's treasure was found there thomas whisking clark was soon released from the new york jail and no one has seen or or heard from him since kid never revealed to belmont and the english authorities nor apparently to his partner livingstone either that he buried the most precious jewels and gold items from his two mortise prizes somewhere on an island in new england sometime between may 20th and july 1st in 1699 it is made up in a bag sadarbi mullens before he was hanged with kid put in a little box locked and nailed corded about and sealed but darby wouldn't say where kids personal treasure in the little box was buried on may 23 1701 neither kid nor mullins were thinking about treasure on that day they were marched out of new gate gall and for three hours were pushed and shoved by a drunken mob who shouted at them to reveal where the treasure was hidden until they arrived under guard at execution dock on the muddy floods of the thames river at waping by the time they got to the gallows at 3 pm both kid and marlins were roaring drunk having been fed spirits along the route by celebrating crowd it was workman's holiday at whopping aptly called the hangman's fair staggering with the rope around his neck kid blurted my lord this is a very hard sentence for my part i am innocent and i have been sworn against by perjured persons the trap door of the staging was released and kit fell through but the road broke and kid landed knee deep in the mud flats the crowd went wild cheering and laughing and they extracted him from the mud still alive and still drunk the crowd protested when the constables escorted him back to the gallows for a second try the broken rope indicated god's judgment that kid was innocent so most in the crowd believed that he was innocent however nevertheless he was hanged again successfully the second time and mullins soon followed him into eternity and so the songs poems and legends began and the man who swore to his dying day that he wasn't a pirate became the most famous pirate in the world after death his body was painted with tar and gibbeted in chains on the riverbank at tilbury ford for all the mariners to see and reflect on as they came and went on the sea, supposedly ill-getting good ill-gotten goods captain kid died a wealthy man and his family was well cared for financially one strange quirk of faith that made him even richer was that his best friend and brother-in-law samuel bradley who sailed with him in the adventure galley and quite a merchant died before kid was high he had been put ashore by kid at angula because he was sick and feverish and there he soon died in his will he left his beloved friend william kidd all his property on new york city's wall street if kid had lived he would have owned --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/treasure-revealed/support

captain kid part two many have dug for kids treasure at chabakui c-h-e-b-e-a-q-u-e island at cherbaku island also costco bay maine and a nearby jewel island a mr chase who lived on jewel island supposedly found some of it using a map that captain kids black servant had drawn out and given to him block island off rhode island is also a favorite spot for the hunters of kids treasure there is a concrete evidence that kid did stop at block island as he had at gardner's island before he was confined to boston jail the list of island locations up and down the new england coast where kids supposedly buried his treasure seems endless there is even a captain kids island near turner's falls massachusetts far inland and close to the vermont border where locals swear captain kidd hit his treasure after all they would tell you how do you think the island got its name richard knight of britain england and fred graham of belmont california went looking for kids treasure off the coast of vietnam in june of 1983. nai told officials that he had a map gotten from my grandfather showing an island of vietnam where kid had his treasure the young man went to the island of pukkok ph u quoc vietnam and disappeared believed to have been taken prisoners by the vietcong captain kids treasure fever is worldwide and as obsessive to treasure hunters today as it was back in the 18th and 19th century of course not all of the places that are being pointed out and attributed to captain kid are necessarily buried by captain kid but it is very possible that those play those treasures were vetted by other pirates so captain kidd reports uh in one of his writing he says i left saint thomas and set sail for muna m-o-o-n-a is an island between hispaniola and puerto rico where we met with a sloop called the saint anthony which is the same one as they call it san antonio bound for montego from curacao mr william bolton merchant and samuel ward master so it is interesting to note that william bolton was an alias the merchant owner of saint anthony was abraham redwood who lived on the island of antigua antigua and like the marlins family picked up stakes after kid was captured and moved to settle permanently in newport rhode island again one wonders in kids mysterious willings and demons if he purposely first landed at antigua to make contact with redwood alias william bolton or was it at kid as kid indicates just a fortunate chance meeting at muna island where kid persuaded bolton to rent the saint anthony to him so that he might proceed to new england kid says that i could not persuade my man to carry the accurate merchant for new england but six of them went and carried the chess and things on board two dutch sloops bound for curacao the rest of the men not being able to bring the quera merchant prize to boston i secured her in a good safe harbor in some part of hispaniola and left her in the position of mr in the possession of mr henry bolton of antigua the master uh who was the master basically of that ship three of the old men and sixteen of the men that belonged to saint anthony crew with the brigantine belonging to a man named bird of curacao bert was also a notorious caribbean pirate whose real name was burke i persuaded them to stay three months that kid till i returned and in the same entry uh made the best way to new york where i heard that earl of belmont was in boston and came to them so there are many important events concerning captain kid and saint anthony coming up the east coast to boston which gives which kid uh purposely avoided in his testimony that were brought out by crewmen and so-called friends during his pre-trial at boston there is no doubt that kid had transferred much of the treasure from quetta merchant to saint anthony before he made his voyage up the coast but how much is in its body's guess kid however insisted that the bulk of the treasure remain in the cuellar merchant hidden in a river at saint tor domingo at santa domingon prote --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/treasure-revealed/support

What is the best case scenario for a pirate sailing on any sea? Score some loot, become boys with the crew and not get injured or killed too quickly? Sounds about right. Well, Ching Shih has a very adult rated fairy tale of piracy. Her rise and... well continued rise is something only she could have done. What she did on the South China Sea is straight up piracy Hall of Fame type stuff. Strider recognizes that piracy and criminality go hand in and hand and it is not that aspect of Ching Shih's or any pirate's life that he wants to celebrate, but rather the scale and diplomatic sway of her floating empire.   Sources: wikipedia.org, Ancient-origins.net ‘Ching Shih - From Prostitue to Infamous Female Pirate’ by M R Reese, Youtube.com Invicta ‘Epic Moments in History - Ching Shih, Rise of the Pirate Queen’ See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Both men were strongly persistent for Linda's companionship, to the point of hate and violent actions between each other. On this interview/conversation I ask Linda many questions and at times I press her on different matters that she was involved in with these two questionable and adventurous  characters. It was a fun and insightful conversation. The book is ultra entertaining and it gives you a clearer understanding on Miki Dora and his ways. Welcome to Week 18 of the Wise Not Withered Character Showcase! This week I am proud to present Ronda, our 58-year-old pirate captain! Her dark, epic story was written by Priyanka from India, and captivating illustrations by Fanny from Mexico. When it came to the Pirate Captain, I really had no idea what I wanted the story or her look to be like. I personally have very little experience with pirate stories and characters—I watched the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie in high school, and... that's it. So I really left her look and her story up to the artists that chose her from the list. Fanny, Ronda's illustrator, got to work right away and was actually the very first illustrator to complete the character's drawings! So Ronda's illustrations are more so snapshots of her personality and lifestyle, rather than directly connected to the story. Fanny was so great to work with; she sent us her sketches, did very well with my alteration requests, and completed the full set of illustrations very, very quickly. She may have been one of the younger artists I recruited for the project, but she worked very maturely and efficiently. https://www.instagram.com/p/BwJDJYOBScu/ Captain Ronda's strengths include her intrepid, bold personality, ability to lead her crew and delegate tasks clearly and effectively. Her main weakness is her peg leg, so she isn't as fast, but she's still strong and purposeful, and excels in close combat. I found Ronda's story writer Priyanka on Instagram, where she goes by "Perifene Rose". I was drawn in by her dark, powerful language and was shocked to find out she was just a teenager. https://www.instagram.com/p/CF8-4DiFl_w/ Priyanka's story for Ronda was exactly what I didn't even realize we needed. I helped out with editing the story but I did my best to keep the integrity of Priyanka's writing. I was just floored by her strong language—not profane, just very striking, bold words. As usual I will include an excerpt of the story at the end of the episode. Ronda's role as captain is just as important as her role as a mother figure to her crew, especially the younger ones. Her team is comprised entirely of her adopted daughters, women whose ages range from 18 to 35. They all have been taken in by Ronda, some rescued from horrendous slave trade. Others were orphans and were in the right place at the right time when Ronda found them. It was important to me to include characters who embraced their wild and adventurous side, while still being loving and nurturing. It can be easy to create female characters that take on typically male characteristics, implying that feminine traits such as softness and flexibility as not as valued. But I really tried to make all of these elderly female characters well-rounded in as many ways as possible. Here is Ronda's illustrator Fanny introducing herself, talking about her career as an artist and her experience being part of the Wise Not Withered project! "Well hi, I'm Diana Estefanía Sanchez, but you can find me on social media as Fanny Sanchez Art. And I'm from Monterrey, Mexico. I start to draw since I was five years old. I always carried a notebook and colors in my bag. I really, really liked to draw Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, Sailor Moon stuff, and other animes. But I start to take it seriously, I think, in high school. Because I studied things related with drawing since junior high school, like technique... I don't know how to translate it. And finally, my career as a graphic designer and animator. Now I can say I'm a digital artist, and I work in an animation studio, making illustrations, creating characters, making motion graphics, and graphic design. For me it's very important to do the best work I could. For Ronda, I made a lot of investigation, searching the clothes, poses, and women her age, because I had no experience designing characters like pirates, or older women. But when I had all these references, I could start making the full body first, then expressions and poses, and finally the illustration with a background. For this final illustration I chose that scene because I thought that she shows all her personality when she was sailing the ship. Well, the brand looks so cool and interesting for me, because I have never worked on a project like this before, with other female artists of different countries. Also I really love the idea of expanding the representation in media of the elderly woman! And I hope when I reach that age, I still have the possibility of working in the creative world, still making characters, or book illustrations, or paintings. And finally, my message for other female artists is that if you do this for a career, it will be difficult. But it is worth it, if it is really your dream. And remember, the continuous practice and learning from your mistakes is very important to becoming a better artist." And now as usual, I will end the episode with an excerpt from Pirate Captain Ronda's dark, epic story, written by Priyanka with edits by yours truly. "On the surface of the forebodingly calm sea, a three-mast ship—the Crimson Maiden—cut through the dark misty waters of the Jaladri Gulf. Soon the entire ship was drowned in murky fog, ominous clouds hanging in the sky above, obscuring the last rays of sunlight. Captain Ronda stood tall on the wooden deck, her rough hands tightening around her sword's hilt. She took a deep breath, inhaling the musky smell of damp wood mixed with the salty air. A chilly gust of wind rifled through her bones, insinuating that a wicked storm was on its way. But that was far from Ronda's concerns: her gaze scanned the gloomy waters before her that she knew housed the most malicious of beasts. She understood that a shortcut through these dark waters could be dangerous, but desperate times called for desperate measures, and her crew's supplies were running low. On either side of Captain Ronda stood Carmen and Jaaga, the eldest and most experienced of her crew, both in their mid-thirties. The women's sharp eyes gazed intently through the thick fog, their breaths coming out short, anticipating the impending doom. They each carried a weapon at their sides, Carmen with a scythe and Jaaga with a lance. The ship rocked suddenly, and Ronda's focused eyes shifted to where Caspia and Cordelia stood toward the front of the ship. The two of them, in their late twenties, had been around long enough to know how Ronda handled intense conflict, but these particular waters were brand new to them. Their gazes swept from side to side, analyzing their surroundings which did not look so promising. With a single, sharp, swift gesture from Ronda, Caspia and Cordelia left their positions with soft steps toward the deck, where Daria and Hama stood ready with four cannons. Although just in their mid-twenties, Daria and Hama could handle the cannons almost as well as Ronda herself. At the wheel of the ship was Maris, the youngest of the crew. Ronda trusted her keen sense of direction and ability to read the stars. A flash of lightning tore through the vast black sky, and instantly thunder boomed overhead. The Crimson Maiden began to sway with a sudden surge of waves, and at that moment a giant serpent—the living death of the sea—reared its head above the water, letting out an ear-piercing roar. Globs of festering saliva spewed from its mouth before it dove across the deck and back into the sea, beginning to coil itself around the ship like a restless predator closing in on its prey. A part of the ship cracked and splintered with the pressure. 'Keep up the speed, Maris! Do not slow down at any cost!' Ronda yelled toward the young Maris, who gripped the wheel tightly, struggling to keep with the waves. 'Caspia and Cordelia, stand on either side of Maris! Jaaga! Carmen! Attack its tail! Do not hold back!' Ronda shouted with zeal and confidence, as it was not her first time fighting these wretched sea snakes. She knew their weakness and she was waiting for the perfect opening. 'Hama! Daria! Ready the cannons! Aim at its face when it resurfaces! Wait for my signal!' Jaaga and Carmen slashed at the serpent's flesh, steadily ripping layers of its thick, coarse skin, preventing it from tightening further around their ship. The beast's tail flung out of the water and smashed right into Caspia—adrenaline surged through her body as she cried out from the shocking impact. Not a second later Cordelia drew her dagger and screamed as she stabbed the serpent's tail before it retreated back into the water. Maris kept her hands steady on the wheel while Caspia and Cordelia locked their arms around her and each other. Ronda sneered as she knew it wouldn't be long before she would stare death straight in the eyes. It had been a while since she had slain living flesh like this, and the image of scarlet in these black waters fired her up. The beast began to hiss, stirring up the water even more, vibrating against the ship, rumbling through the entire crew's skin and bones. Ronda prepared herself, knowing that it was all-or-nothing. One chance is all Ronda would have to claim victory; losing would mean only one thing, and she was not planning for death anytime soon. Right on cue, the monster surfaced at the side of the ship, hissing with fury, its beady eyes filled with rage—and locked right onto Ronda. As soon as it opened its jaws, the captain bellowed: 'FIRE!' Daria tightly gripped and aimed the first cannon with a steady hand, while covering an ear with the other. Hama drew the string and blasted the cannon right at the serpent's face. Working together they swiftly fired one cannon after the other. The cannonballs smashed into the monster's jaws, fragments of teeth and slimy skin raining down on the crew. The explosions left billows of smoke in the sky above them, and though the beast had been stunned momentarily, it suddenly screeched and rushed forward. Ronda dodged the serpent's bite, prancing like a tiger, her peg leg supporting her sideways lunge. She swiftly stabbed the beast's neck, and Carmen and Jaaga quickly followed suit, faithfully protecting their captain with their lives, pinning the monster down. Ronda ripped her sword out of the monster's neck and dealt the final blow, driving her sharp blade right into the beast's eye. The serpent shrieked in agony, unraveling its coiled tail around the ship, wildly thrashing about. The scythe and spear that had pinned it down were flung overboard as the serpent withdrew back to the depths of the black sea. The dark clouds parted and blue sky was revealed once again, as the serpent itself had brought the storm, which it now took deep into the sea with it." That's it for this week! Hope you enjoyed learning a bit about Ronda, the pirate captain! Stay tuned for the next showcases of the Wise Not Withered characters.

Following their recent misadventures involving accidental genocide, the inadvertant summoning of an Elder God, and the corruption of an entire planet, Porridge and his cybernetic badger accomplice Colon have now found themselves on a pirate planet enlisting the aid of a Pirate Captain in search of some macguffin or other. Hopefully Porridge himself will be able to make some sense of all this, but I wouldn't count on it.

What can I do for ya?! Getting into it this episode on some RPG creative elements. I was talking shop with another DM (guess GM is more inclusive) and we were trading notes on our stable of old reliable characters. The kind of archetypal, almost intuitive NPC's that you can whip up a moments notice, or even put to paper way in advance of a mission. The group I run with now has a penchant for over-asking about NPCs, and over engaging with them. That takes an encounter like "a passing merchant offers you a ride on his cart" to one wherein they've interrogated this newly named, fleshed out wool merchant about his political leanings and extensive family history. You always gotta be ready to throw shit back in the groups face, and no GM wants to blank and not have a character ready to go. I always record my episodes here in one sitting, and use zero editing software (since I don't have any...) so these were characters that just snap to mind (which is part of this whole exercise). Always make sure you can whip up a world for your players, even if it's completely the opposite direction or expectation from what you had planned. Also, for real, no offence to anyone with accents, linguistics are straight up fascinating.Take a look at some very thrown together NPC frame examples. Feel free to change names to suit your 'verse (Arabia is the Mid-East in the Warhammer world, etc.):-Angus: Great Scot! This is my catchall character voice for many a fantasy NPCs. The accent suits dwarves so perfectly, I almost always pair the two up. But it's still versatile and you can be a guttural barbarian lord, drunken town innkeeper, staunchly trained blacksmith or anything in between.-Farouk: The quick to anger, "generically Arabian" Shuk merchant, or an experienced dessert mercenary who's quick to draw his blade.-Pei Ling: The hasty Chinese servant/chef/business owner who's unmatched in the arts of the bargain. Or perhaps he's a town guard captain with no patience for new strangers in town and their nonsense.-Lord Cuthbert: The villain. I'll go into this one at length in the podcast, but British accents (especially the high accents) have an unparalleled gift for sounding villainous. That's not to say evil, as I argue the German accent comes off as way more suspiciously evil automatically (stay tuned for my Klaus characters in a coming Ep.) But the British drawl has a way of sounding calculated, intelligent and dangerous most of the time. You can play this up or down from a devious and scheming Baron/Lord, to a shrewd and clever member of the aristocracy.-Duke Renoir, Conquistador Compella and Baron Vigioni: European romantic accents give such a wide range of applications, for most walks of life characters. Definitely expect to see more on these later, for Euro-type fantasy settings, these are your knights, holy men, royalty, court, merchants and etc.-Shlomo the Wise: I always love throwing in a good old Jewish character in the mix, the blend of humour, wiseness and a dash of stereotype always makes for a good time. Passing Bards, merchants or (of course) goldsmiths make for great bases to ground these guys in.-The funny ones: Some accents are hard to bring to life without the characters coming across as silly, but I still say that gritty, urban Yuan-ti with the fast talking fierceness of a Mexican accent can play. -Pirates: I can't believe I neglected to throw this one down. I love pirates, accent included, and it makes up for probably 30% of the NPC voices my party runs into. Who doesn't like the old "yarr" now and again? I'll swashbuckle up a Pirate Captain or adventuring smuggler character here very soon. Well that's about it, I encourage you to listen in and tell me what you think of the roster. Good evening, good evening, Ladies and Gentlemen and listen to this - the recording of the first Ordinary Meeting of the Queen's University of Belfast Literary and Scientific Society! The House convened to discuss the motion, "This House Would Not go to Queen's", and the debate was guest-chaired by former SU President and Pirate Captain, Mr. Ciaran Gallagher. Speaking for the Proposition were Ms Lilianna Vetter, Ms Ciara Campbell and Mr Olly Donnelly, with Mr Peter Moor, Mr Matthew Sullivan and Mr Hugh Dobbin speaking for the Opposition. Unfortunately, the recording starts about two minutes into the meeting due to a small mishap, but apart from that prepare for an incredibly well-argued and lively debate.I hope you enjoy this recording!

The lazy, hazy days of summer are great days for reading and The Halli Casser-Jayne Show brings you two wonderful books to take with you to the beach-- the Jimmy Buffett biography, JIMMY BUFFETT: A GOOD LIFE ALL THE WAY and DRIVING MISS NORMA . Joining Halli at her table are authors Ryan White, Tim Bauerschmidt and Ramie Liddle. Jimmy Buffett, the iconic “Pop of Trop Rock,” the Pirate Captain of Margaritaville, the one person with whome we would all like to share a cheeseburger in paradise. Writer, performer Buffett has earned millions through record sales and top-grossing concert tours, but he is also the CEO behind – and get this – a $1.5 billion-per-year Margaritaville industrial complex, a vast network of merchandise, chain restaurants, resorts, lifestyle products, and now about to open Margaritville retirement homes. But before he became the flip-flop music legend and the CEO of Margaritville, Inc. there was the kid from Pascagoula, Mississippi. There have been a lot of changes in attitudes, changes in latitudes in James William Buffett's life and Ryan White the author of SPRINGSTEEN: ALBUM BY ALBUM, who has twice been named one of the top feature writers in the country by the Society for Features Journalism explores them all JIMMY BUFFETT, A GOOD LIFE ALL THE WAY, a great read on those lazy, hazy days of summer. Before she became known as the adventurous nonagenarian road tripper and international sensation "Miss Norma" with over 500,000 devoted Facebook followers, Norma Jean Bauerschmidt lived a quiet, modest life for 90 years in rural northern Michigan, never crossing a state line let alone a zip line. But following the death of her husband of 67 years and after being diagnosed with terminal uterine cancer only two days later, Miss Norma broke with her way of life, and instead of confining herself to a hospital bed for what could be her last stay, Norma rose to her full height of five feet and told the doctor, “I'm ninety years old. I'm hitting the road.” And she did with her son and daughter-in-law Tim Bauerschmidt and Ramie Liddle, their giant poodle Ringo, their story of adventure and insight told in the new book DRIVING MISS NORMA.In those lazy, hazy days of summer, what could be better than cheeseburgers in paradise, nibbling on sponge cake, watching the sun bake and reading JIMMY BUGGETT, A GOOD LIFE ALL THE WAY, and enjoying the feel-good book of the summer, DRIVING MISS NORMA all on The Halli Casser-Jayne Show. We were also joined by Felix from Wooden overcoats, who had no Idea what a Christmas Ham was. The Aardman classic Pirates! "Dross and baubles!" A three-word review of The Pirate Planet by the salty cyborg himself? Perhaps. Not that there's much in the way of baubles, except for a compact and bijou planet made entirely from sweetie wrappers. But there are some monkish mentalists who need a decent kip, a dangerously incontinent tin budgie and a heaving metropolis of eight souls (or eleven if you include the cosmos's crappiest granddad, his doe-eyed granddaughter and her trigger-happy intended). Does some semblance of an intellect lie behind the Pirate Captain's relentless ranting? What's his kinky nurse-patient role-play all about? And could his garrison of gimp guards even hit a cow's arse with a banjo? Listen in as Jim and Martin ponder these questions while also wondering if walking the plank might be preferable to sitting through this again.
