Alex Dolby has reached the coveted ground of over 15 years of releasing music and seen his high pedigree of creations landing on labels ranging from Global Underground, John Digweed’s Bedrock, to more recently Emmanuel’s ARTS, Developer’s Modularz and DJ Emerson’s Micro.fon amongst others. Development and experimentation are the main influences in his sound as Alex has firmly settled on creating expressive techno. A deep love for analogue sounds, rough textures and tough rhythms are accompanied by dystopian aesthetics. A clear focus on functional club weaponry is wrapped up in his productions to pay homage to the dance floors he draws so much inspiration from. Diversifying his legacy as a music connaisseur, Alex launched the respected Affekt Recordings in 2012 that has a catalogue of music from the likes of Pär Grindvik, Alex Bau, Mental Resonance, VSK, D-Leria, Temudo and MTD for example as he continues to enterprise and enlist new talent apace with established artists. This label project also culminated in the emergence of Affekt Club that situated in his Italian home town of Frosinone, is a reflection of the labels output that inspires the clubs ethos of underground culture and musical standards. Alex’s contemporary fourth studio album in 2018 “Fault System” has reinforced his noteriety as a leading light and much loved creative. Picking up heavyweight support from the likes of Laurent Garnier, Chris Liebing, Charlotte de Witte, Marcel Dettmann, Ben Sims, Jonas Kopp, Ø [Phase], Dax J, Truncate and Etapp Kyle to name only a few. Added to this, one of his hit records from the 2006 album of the same name “Psiko Garden” recently received a remix in the first entry of the Classic Reworks vinyl series for Affekt from the unrelenting Manchester duo AnD (Electric Deluxe/CLR), bringing a much loved nostalgic gem into new territory. The successes Alex has achieved have allowed him to travel around the world to play revered locations such as DC10 ( Ibiza ), Extrema Festival ( Belgium ), Bonusz Festival ( Hungary ), Griessmuhle ( Berlin ), Sazae ( Osaka ), Branceleone ( Rome ) or Cafè D’Anvers ( Belgium ) where he has shared his passionate and ardent sounds as he maintains an imperative grasp on the hearts and minds through the affirmation of his cherished contributions. Axel Martens, better known as Mindflash, is a German DJ and producer from Schortens in the northwest of Germany. He’s djing since 1994 and is the founder of the “Deep in the Groove” and “Deep in Techno” sessions on mixcloud and soundcloud. In the 90’s Mindflash established the “Brain Vibes Team” in the northwest of Germany with a party series there. He was a resident DJ in the techno-club “Shelter” in Wilhelmshaven and organized parties in many locations like “Waking up a dead planet”, “Brain Vibes” and “Phuture Phase”. House and Techno were permanent companions in his life. Since the beginning of 2018 Mindflash is producing guest mixes for several shows and he’s a returning guest on Technochannel’s beats2dance. Once she fell in love with techno she decided she wanted to make her own, so she spent time in dark clubs watching and learning from the DJs. Even though she was only 15 years old, she learnt how to get sounds of analog synths and Fruity Loops, took what she made and handed it out on CDs to people who went to Leipzig’s 10/40 techno club. She started to build a profile and now, years later, the East Germany born artist is a regular on the global circuit who has played across Europe, South Africa, India and the United States under her alter ego. After years as part of the Alter Ego, which took her to key parties round the world, YENI is now focused on solo work. She is a strong-willed character who does things her own way. Music brings out visceral reactions in her, and she always tries to convey the same strong feelings with her productions and DJ sets. “I am not the kind of fish that swims with the shoal,” she states. “I am the one who tries out exactly the opposite; the things that are not currently hyped.” As such, this classically trained pianist, vocalist and former soprano choir singer has a sophisticated sound that is keen to experiment and head in unknown new directions. It has lead to releases on well-regarded labels like Alex Bau’s Credo, Florida Music, Unknown Territory and Complexed Records, and has found its way into the bags of tastemakers like Adam Beyer, Agoria and Charlotte De Witte. She is also an in-demand vocalist who worked with other producers such as Drumcomplex. More recently, this infectiously enthusiastic character has started her own label Cyborgs in Love, which put out her own fierce Hang On EP. The label deals in proper techno and, drawing on her background when she worked as a Management Consultant crunching numbers for insurance companies in Switzerland, has quickly become a quality operation. DJ Emerson, Wigbert, Drumcomplex, Rob Hes, Andres Campo and Roland M. Dill are all part of the Cyborg family. “I loved to be successful in my normal job, but I could not only live this nine to five thing,” she says. “I need an extraordinary lifestyle by spending my weekends in dark techno clubs.” So that’s what she does, weaving together high octane sets of uncompromising techno with compelling grooves and well-crafted synths that come together to create stark atmospheres. It has taken her to play alongside the likes of Slam and Ellen Allien in Finland, at Nature One in Germany and her own label showcase during ADE. Having more than proved herself, she is now signed to Times Artists alongside the likes of Matthias Tanzmann and Timo Maas and is an essential voice in the global techno conversation.

Tell us about the story of your early days. A: Well, I always loved music from the first time I heard The Rolling Stones and MC5 Records of my father when I was maybe 4 or 5 years old. When I heard "Golden Brown" on the radio one night while driving in my parents car I asked them how they made these sounds and that I wanna make music too. I had no idea how to do it but I always had the urge to produce the music I like myself in any way or another. So i got my first guitar. As time went by I got more and more into the industrial stuff like Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, White Zombie and just like that I ended up listening to a lot of Breakbeat and Drum And Bass and I started mixing and then I got infected with the Techno virus. Q: You´ve been inside the Techno scene for a very long time yet. How would you describe the development of the last 20 years? A: These days it´s much more about social media and stuff like that back then you basically released a fat record and went on tour for a year. Now you have to take care of much more stuff. It´s difficult to stand out since we have so many aspiring and established DJs. I wish people would listen better in the clubs. How good the DJ actually mixes and how he selects his music. What tracks he plays. Does he just play what everybody else is playing or does he try to show you interesting new music. It´s still the most important thing! Not what this guy posts before, after and during his show. Studio wise I really like how the sound design has developed and how good many of todays productions actually sound. You can make so much with the software nowadays. Q: Which Emerson projects can we expect soon? A: I am currently releasing the remixes for my album with mixes by Johannes Heil, Tales Of The Machines, Yan Cook, A. Mochi, Oliver Deutschmann, Xhei, Conrad Von Orton, Kai Kinkel, Pawn Shop People & Matasism. Then I am preparing a series of micro.fon partys all across europe and I am producing tracks with my homie Thomas Hoffknecht for a collab release.

Emanuele Millozzi was born in Rome in 1985. He started attending the Techno and Progressive parties in his hometown when he was just a teenager, ending up very often spending his Sundays in the raves and remaining fascinated by them... Over the years he understands that electronic music is more than a passion for him and begins to approach the first sequencer, at the same time he bought his first console and begins to externalize all these feelings that music had always resulted in him...so begins a journey that takes him across several musical styles, his mind lives and feeds from the atmosphere breathe in the clubs that are continuously part of his life and elaborates by proposing personal ideas of the sounds that hit him. Meanwhile, time passes and his dj-sets are beginning to be appreciated so much that led him to perform in the period 2008-2011 in some of the best parties in Italy in spaces dedicated to emerging Djs as the "darkroom" of the famous and "Diabolika @ Nrg Superclub" and the "Bar "of "Traintek @ Rashomon Club",established techno party in which he performed in sets of 4 hands with his friend Claudio Petroni with whom he often collaborate in the studio at that time. At the same time his technique in music production grows and its products are now published by high-profile labels and collect even 2 vinyl releases that are soon sold out so his sound gets strength and confidence. In a short time his works are published on the label which, in time order : AFULAB, Land Of Voodoo Nutempo, Miniaturesrec,Elektrax,!Organism, Illegal Alien and his promos receive positive feedback and are played by DJs such as Chris Liebing, Richie Hawtin, Speedy J, Len Faki, Phil Kieran,Dubfire, Jesper Dahlback, Dj Emerson, Markantonio, Slam, Xpansul, Thomas P Heckmann, Claude Von Stroke, Ramon Tapia, Alexi Delano, Lars Klein, Paco Osuna, Mateo Murphy, Stephan Bodzin, and many more. In 2012 he moved to London where he founded Silent Storm Records on which he works four hands with his partner in crimes Luke Di Lullo.
