Billy Camino is the charismatic host of "The Camino Concept," a captivating radio show that he fondly refers to as "The Playground of a Licentious Imagination." Broadcasting on Shout Radio every Thursday from 1pm to 3pm, Billy takes listeners on a two-hour musical journey filled with eclectic oldies and delightful novelties. With genuine enthusiasm, Billy Camino expresses his gratitude for being part of "Team Camino" and the privilege of sharing his passion for unforgettable music with his audience. He thrives on creating extraordinary memories together, as they immerse themselves in the enchanting world of music right in his cherished dirt and river water. While Billy playfully suggests that some names and places on his show may have been altered to safeguard the potentially fictitious, he invites his listeners to believe—or not—in the tales he weaves through his music selections.Hailing originally from the Beaver Valley Area, Billy proudly claims deep roots across the Southwestern Pennsylvania region. From Finleyville and Monroeville to Allison Park, and from Monaca and Center Township to Baden, Rochester, and Beaver Falls, his connections and experiences span far and wide, even extending to the North Hills."The Camino Concept" first took flight on an internet radio station in Arizona back in 2016. However, being a presenter has been Billy's cherished hobby throughout his adult life. Whether it's for family, friends, ministry, or community, he has always enjoyed curating thematic mixes of oldies music, and he has never charged a dime for his services. As he humorously quips, "You get what you pay for, my dear musical pilgrims."Currently, the "Camino Nation" holds affiliations with internet stations in the Arizona Valley of The Sun, the Carolinas, Cheshire, UK, and the northwest London area. Billy's passion for music and sharing his vibrant concepts of oldies has found a home in various corners of the globe.Beyond his love for music, Billy Camino cherishes his role as a newlywed of nearly 43 years. Alongside his wife, Lynda, they have embarked on countless adventures together, having participated in over 40 cursillos, hiked the Grand Canyon 70 times, and traversed more than 500 miles of "The Camino Pilgrimage" in Spain and France. Their shared experiences and unwavering love add depth and richness to Billy's life, fueling his passion for music and connection with his listeners on "The Camino Concept." Hosted on Acast. For goodness bakes, we kicked off the show with our Associate Caller of the Day, Angela from Store 3842 in Macedon, New York, who gave a shoutout to the pharmacy team. Today's 'Spy the Lie' filled us with confusion, but it didn't stump customer Brad, who called in from St. Charles, Missouri. George from Store 5641 called and gave a shoutout to all the associates working with him in La Habra, California. In Milestone Minute, we celebrated Janet from Store 846 in La Grange, Texas, for 35 years, Gregory from Store 3223 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, for 30 years, and topping off the celebrations was Timothy from Wood River, Illinois, on 25 years with the company. Don't be too occu-pied, and tune in to listen to more great shoutouts on The Bo Show.

Tonight's special guest Trish Valleys is joining us from Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, although she usually lives in Spain on the Costa del Sol. "Trish Valleys is my pen name," she says. "I was adopted as a child in the UK and much of my early trauma and loss was when I was pre verbal. From hypnosis and different therapies, (I have spent years on self development and dealing with these memories and feelings), it has been established that I have suffered several types of abuse." Trish goes on, "The biggest impact and damage has been from the emotional and psychological damage I suffered growing up. This also led to my adult behaviors of trying to please, being overly compliant and wanting to be loved." But she, like many of us, felt unworthy. This sense of herself inevitably followed through to an abusive marriage with a man she suspects was a narcissist. "It took many years before I got the strength together to leave and yet more to recover." Trish has just written a book about her experience, 'Without Prejudice?'. She wanted it to be a validation of her life, and offer some support to others who are on the same journey. "I am now understanding how early trauma and abuse has such an enormous impact on our later life."

Newton/rez-ume ways and they've stretched the truth a bit on her application. Mighty flood, etc. Meanwhile, the AC is out and the girls struggle to keep cool. All in all, this one is incredibly goofy, there's a bunch of funny lines, and it's a pretty revealing picture of Rose's naive all-American nature.

Peter Mehlman went from writing sports to writing Seinfeld and gave us characters and catchphrases we'll never forget. In this episode, comedian Dan Rosenberg interviews Peter about his journey from playing basketball in college to writing some of the funniest moments on one of the funniest shows ever written. After years on staff writing for Seinfeld in New York, he went moved to sunnier skies and palm trees, writing for another hit show, “It's Like, You Know," and has even written a few books in recent years. Catch up with Dan & Peter and have a few laughs along the way in today's episode: “The Catch Phrases” Born in Queens, New York. Attended the University of Maryland. Interned, then worked at The Washington Post. Wrote & produced the TV series “SportsBeat” with the great Howard Cosell. Freelance magazine writer in New York. He moved to Los Angeles in 1989, bumped into his friend Larry David. Showed him a humor piece he wrote for the New York Times. Jerry Seinfeld liked it too and yada yada yada, he gets on the show.  Peter wrote and produced Seinfeld for six year. He's best known for his classic Seinfeld-isms: “Spongeworthy,” “shrinkage,” and “double-dipping.” He joined DreamWorks in 1997 and created the TV show “It's Like, You Know…,” a scathing look at life in Los Angeles. He punched up the animated kid flick Madagascar and gets a hypochondriacal giraffe named after him. He's still writing. Screenplays, novels, op-eds, lists. He dabbles in stand-up and doodles subconsciously. He shoots hoops and lives in LA with his dog Ike. Dan Rosenberg was born in a tiny suburb of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania called Beaver Falls (more like a suburb of that suburb called Chippewa Township) and lived in the third unit of a duplex. His father was a self employed auto parts peddler that loved baseball and apple pie with cheese on it. He would often work late in his parts store trying to invent things that already existed, like the telephone or thumb tacks. His mother was a florist, an artist and a part time immigration attorney focusing on citizens of Armenia and West Virginia. He graduated in the upper 10% of the lower third of his high school class and was an active member of the "Tall Guy's That Can't Play Hoops" club as well as the Jazz Band, where he was fourteenth chair tenor tuba. Several years ago, he walked into a comedy club and his life was forever changed. “The club was also a cult and they ‘recruited' me to serve as their light bulb changer.” He's done stand-up comedy and writing ever since. he's written several spec scripts, like, "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "The Office," and a killer "Too Close for Comfort." ("Monroe Gets a Job") He's also written for several radio shows as well as two books. The first "The Book on Hosting: How Not to Suck as an Emcee" and "The Book on Vacuums: The Joke Sometimes Writes Itself.” Check out Dan's comedy special on Amazon Prime.

The School Poisoning Tragedy in Caledonia, Ohio    ABOUT THIS EPISODE On episode 44 of Veteran Voices: The Oral History Podcast, we talk with James Van Keuren about his book, The School Poisoning Tragedy in Caledonia, Ohio, and the tragic but little known story of what a small community in Ohio went through in the years and decades after WWII. We’ve always understood the veteran experience in broadest terms that include the full range of issues veterans, their families, and our communities go through before, during, and after military service. Some of these issues are well known, such as post traumatic disorders or military-related illnesses known as Agent Orange, Gulf War Syndrome, or the most recent toxic burn pit exposures. Also fitting into these experiences are the social, political, and economic consequences communities endure as a result of exposures to dangerous military-industrial activities abroad and at home. Dr. James Van Keuren’s book tells the tragic but little known story of what a small community in Ohio went through in the years and decades after WWII: “In the early 1960s, the River Valley Local School District built its middle school, its high school and its athletic fields in the former Marion Engineer Depot. During World War II, the depot had used the land for heavy equipment rehab, military artillery practice, materials storage, burial of construction debris and burning of waste materials and fuels. “In 1997, a River Valley High School nurse grew concerned about the high rate of leukemia and other cancers in graduates. Then a stunning news report announcing a 122 percent increase in death rates over thirty years in the Marion area sparked an investigation. “Was the land to blame? The question of what may have been known about the contaminates on the school grounds sent shock waves through the community that still linger today.” Meanwhile, be sure to check out another conversation with Dr. Van Keuren discussing WWII POW camps in Ohio on episode 43 of Veteran Voices: The Oral History Podcast. Dr. James Van Keuren is a retired professor of educational administration and dean of the Dwight Schar College of Education at Ashland University, as well as a former high school teacher, principal and superintendent. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles, and his most recent book, A Tribute to the 109th Evacuation Hospital (SM), traces his father-in-law’s service during World War II. Van Keuren has been married to his wife, Pat, for forty-nine years, and they have two daughters, Michelle (Drew) Scott and Christie (Dale) Murdoch, in addition to grandchildren Hailey Scott, Weston Murdoch and Cooper Murdoch.
