Former Steeler Kordell Stewart joined the show. Kordell said Kenny Pickett played a very good game Monday night and he loved his quick decision making. Kordell credited the backup RBs behind Najee Harris for a nice game in Indy, especially Benny Snell. He said Snell gets from Point A to Point B better than Najee. Kordell talked up the connection brewing between Kenny and George Pickens – Kordell compared it to himself and Yancey Thigpen in the late 90's. Kordell hyped up the SEC and how those guys seem to transition a little bit better to the NFL. Chris asked Kordell his thoughts on Diontae Johnson this season and Kordell used Plaxico Burress as an example and how it took some time for the pair to click together.

Snell had 12 carries for a season-high 62 yards after replacing the injured Najee Harris in the third quarter. Harris was ruled out at halftime with an abdominal injury. Pittsburgh improved to 4-7 and won its eighth straight over Indianapolis, which fell to 4-7-1. Ryan threw incomplete and that was it. NFL – Colts, Saturday mismanage clock at end of loss to Steelers The Colts had the ball and drove into Steelers territory late while trailing by seven. But Indianapolis curiously allowed time to continue ticking off the clock, not using its first timeout until it faced a fourth down with 30 seconds left at the Pittsburgh 26-yard line. That play resulted in an incomplete pass and the Steelers held on to win 24-17. Interim coach Jeff Saturday says he didn’t feel as if his team was pressed for time and said they already had called plays they were confident would work. But the ticking clock put extra pressure on Indy and QB Matt Ryan. During unusual pre-match news conferences, captain Tyler Adams was asked to defend the U.S.’s treatment of Black people and chastized for pronoucing the opponent “Eye-ran” instead of “E-ran.” American coach Gregg Berhalter was questioned about U.S. immigration and Naval policy and apologized for the U.S. Soccer Federation’s decision to strip the emblem of the Islamic Republic from Iran’s flag on social media. FIFA – Protester with rainbow flag runs onto field at World Cup A protester ran onto the field carrying a rainbow flag and wearing a blue Superman T-shirt that said “SAVE UKRAINE” on the front and “RESPECT FOR IRANIAN WOMAN” on the back during a World Cup match between Portugal and Uruguay. Security officials chased the protester down and the flag was dropped on the field before the person was escorted off the field. The referee then picked up the flag and left it on the sideline. It stayed there for a few moments before a worker came and collected it. The protester was ushered away through a tunnel. Najee Harris left the game last night and with Jaylen Warren already out, Benny Snell and Anthony McFarland answered the call. Both guys played well and ran for roughly 5 yards per carry. Poni said Mike Tomlin messed it up all the way back to camp when he played Najee with the Lisfranc injury. Chris called for a committee approach to the carries. Who do you blame for how the Najee injury was handled in training camp and preseason?

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin doesn't just deny rumors of him considering the USC job, he bodyslams anyone who started them. What a legend. Plus, Zach Banner and Anthony McFarland will work their way back into the offense this week after coming off IR. Does this mean Banner will start? And is Benny Snell Jr. the player cut in place of McFarland? And is Baker Mayfield's health something the Steelers should concern themselves with? Are the Browns better without him? Well. That sucked. We all know that. A little bit of each of us shriveled up and died during that sad twenty play drive that ended in zero points to end the game last Saturday in BIG GROCERY STADIUM, but, let’s podcast about it anyways. FIRST. Let’s speak on something positive: what’s your single favorite thing about college football season? We gave our best attempt at feigning charm and optimism, and we hope you do too down in the comments. Okay, moving along. There are, as always, winners and losers. This week we give a shout out to Penn State, the whole dang USA, college football’s zombie team (UAB), and former baseball great and criminally underrated MLB player, Whit Merrifield. We also dive into the debacle under the lights in Lexington, where the Gamecocks successfully helped with the launch of yet another Heisman Trophy campaign, this time for Benny Snell Jr...we know...we’re sick of it too. We attempt to perform a semi-competent autopsy of Gamecock Football and try to find a semblance of a silver lining moving forward as the Gamecocks come back to Williams-Brice Stadium to host their bitter and longtime rival the Missouri Tigers this coming weekend. This is a deep-dive, and we hope you enjoy it. Air out your grievances, express your frustrations. We are here. We are here for you. Faithfully yours, The Only South Carolina Gamecocks Podcast crew.
