Brandon and I continue our October Halloween Extravaganza! The Church is a film written and produced by Dario Argento the director of Deep Red and the original 1977 Suspiria! Michele Soavi directs the film. Soavi also directed Cemetery Man starring Rupert Everett! The score was composed by Keith Emerson, Philip Glass, Goblin, and Fabio Pignatelli! The all star cast is led by Thomas Arana who has been in such films as Gladiator, and The Bourne Supremacy! Hugh Quarshie also stars as Father Gus. You may remember him from Clive Barker's Masterpiece Nightbreed or Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. Asia Argento is present as Lotte the scamp who would rather go clubbing than restore ancient frescos! This is a gorgeous example of 80's Italian Horror in the same vein as Lucio Fulci! Plot: An old Gothic cathedral built over a mass grave develops strange powers that trap a number of people inside with ghosts from a 12th Century massacre seeking to resurrect an ancient demon from the bowels of the Earth. Taglines: You Haven't Got A Prayer. It will make you squirm. In this unholy sanctuary you haven't got a prayer ...
This week, we continue to run from the CIA in the second installment of the Bourne trilogy, The Bourne Supremacy. Matt Damon is still hot in this movie, but now he must contend with Karl Urban, aka Master of the Riddermark and leader of the Rohirrim (aka hot with short black hair and long blond hair). But that's beside the point, sadly, we return to the world of espionage in the distant land of Europe to find who killed Neski in Berlin! Answer, Jason Bourne in the bedroom with the revolver! But it's never that simple. We've got dumb intelligence officers, spooky snipers, douchey consulate brats, and Celeborn the other Kiwi assassin. Yay? Shout out to Joan Allen for being the boss, the chameleon, the tour de force to make this movie work!

Welcome to the 5th episode of our Trilogies series. We hope you enjoyed our last episode where we looked at Jack Ryan Trilogy both starring Alec Baldwin and Harrison Ford as the titular character. On this episode, we look back at another espionage film franchise which is little bit of the opposite of the world seen in the Jack Ryan films. Something that is a little more dark, mysterious, dangerous and not as black and white. A world that is grey. We are going to be looking at the original Bourne Trilogy. The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy and finally The Bourne Ultimatum. Before the studio heads decided to try and milk these films with a not so well received spin-off sidequel starring Jeremy Renner and then resorting to bring back Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon as Jason Bourne in 2016, the original three Bourne Films really defined action cinema in the early to mid 2000s. Highly influential in regards its bleak and nuanced look at the US Government and Special Intelligence agencies, plus it's stylistic and visual approach to action cinematography. Shaky Cam was born with these films. We hope you continue to enjoy this new Trilogies Series we're doing and we also hope you enjoy this episode. Stay Tuned for more!As it is the summer, we are on a mini hiatus. So there won't be that many episodes out during the next couple of months. But do check out what we have recorded already. Sometimes, "superior sequel" status is declared right in the movie's title. This week, Bennett Campbell Ferguson is here to nominate "The Bourne Supremacy" (2004) for its frenetic action, underrated love story, and Matt Damon's cargo shorts. We also break down Greengrass vs. Liman, sing the Bourne theme almost immediately, and get *this close* to remembering our real names.
For this "ReScreen" episode, Michael does a rewatch of the 2004 action film "The Bourne Supremacy", the second film in the Jason Bourne franchise starring Matt Damon, Brian Cox, Karl Urban, Franka Potente, Julia Stiles, Gabriel Mann, and Joan Allen. The Action Movie Hall of Fame is officially back for its 4th season. This episode, (starting at the 7m30s mark) Matt and Dereck have an on-air production meeting, about what movies should be part of their Summer Blockbuster series. Then, it's on to reviewing The Bourne Supremacy (25:18) on it's 20th anniversary. How does this sequel compare to the original Bourne movie? And does Matt Damon and crew be able to piece together a story that is worthy of an Action Movie Hall of Fame induction? Or is this whole movie just one big misunderstanding?

How do audience questions shape scenes? nspired by our earlier episodes on sequences, Chas and Stu narrow their focus to look at the atomic unit of screen storytelling: the scene. In particular, we breakdown how question and answers prompted in the audience structure individual scenes. We talk plot, character, and theme questions (and their hybrids) by analysing scenes from LOKI, THE LAST CRUSADE, THE BOURNE SUPREMACY, QUEEN AND SLIM, and DO THE RIGHT THING. We also briefly discuss SUCCESSION, DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: HONOUR AMONG THIEVES, and ANDOR. Story written by me! My Wattpad: @Kaila_Falcon **** Tick, tick, tick tick… The rather ancient looking clock mounted to the wall of the bedroom you lie in the bed of, continues its steady rhythm, gradually beginning to lull you to sleep. It had been quite the day - relentless rain practically flooding the small town mere minutes from your humble abode. An abode that has provided significant shelter for you and your Partner over the past few… months? Years? How long has it been? Sighing heavily, you roll onto your side, frowning inwardly at the evidently strained features of the man lying at your side, no doubt entangled in fragmented memories of his past. A past that seems to catch up with him more and more every day. You're not sure how long you'd been asleep for, but the next thing you know, the rather shrill sound of the squeaky bathroom faucet turning on jolts you from your slumber, the warmth and presence of the man who'd been at your side gone. Confusion and concern pricks your thoughts as you swing your feet over the edge of the bed and let them rest against the coolness of the wooden floor beneath, a coolness that follows you as you quietly pad towards where the source of the noise and a newfound light that had woke you. And the sight you see before you as you silently stand in the doorway of the small room breaks your heart. The man only ever known to you as Jason Bourne stands there, features evidently glistening with an anxious sweat, eyes carrying a haunted look as he stares back at himself in the mirror. It takes him a moment to fully register your presence, though you know right well he'd heard you long before you'd been in his line of sight. His gaze flicks to you, a weary compassion drowning out the previous dread. “I'm okay. It's fine. Just a headache,” He murmurs, almost seeming to want to shoo you away. But, you persist, resting a gentle hand on his bare shoulder as you pass him by, grabbing a washcloth off the counter and running it under the cool water from the squeaky tap once more. “You're burning up.” You feel the muscles in his shoulders tense for a moment as the coolness of the cloth makes contact with his bare skin, only to relax into your touch moments later, a grateful sigh falling from his lips. “It's okay. Just a headache,” He repeats once more, tone softer this time, almost as if to reassure himself of that fact. But the both of you know right well it's a headache that never seems to go away. Wordlessly, the pair of you leave the small bathroom behind and head out into the damp night air, moist with sea spray and rain, the breeze dancing across your skin and blowing through the windchimes, their melody floating on the wind. “Anything new?” You practically breathe, inwardly knowing the answer to your question. “No. It's just bits and pieces. I can hear Conklin's voice, and there's that photograph, but... I just can't stay with it.” The look of defeat adorning your Partner's features bathed in the warm glow of the outside light is enough to make your heart ache, but you try once more, tone softening. “But you're sure it's not just a bad dr-” But your sentence is cut short, a steady knowing falling into his own tone. “It was a mission. And I was there.” “You should write it down.” Jason simply sighs heavily, turning to face you with a rather pained look of frustration. “Two years of scribbling in that notebook… it's just the same thing over and over again.” Now it's your turn to sigh as you shift closer to his side, gently pulling the washcloth from the back of his neck. “But that's why we write it down. Because sooner or later, you remember something good.” “I do remember something good,” Your Partner offers, passing you a small smile, stepping closer to where you stand. “All the time.”

In this episode of Film Stories with Simon Brew, a sequel that wasn't originally in the plans, and a comedy where more spin-offs were due to follow. After the very, very difficult shoot of The Bourne Identity, the key creatives weren't rushing to return for The Bourne Supremacy. There was little chance of director Doug Liman coming back either - and that meant a turn in a slightly different direction for the franchise. With Bad Moms meanwhile, the hit comedy lost its original studio backer and then found a home that worked: but plans for spin-offs and further sequels soon hit the buffers. In this episode, Mark features Anton Kalaydjian, Founder and CEO of Guardian Professional Security. He shares his roots as an investment broker and the circumstances that would lead him to the EP industry. He comments on the explosion of EP today and how the good always comes with the bad. Anton talks about the value of work ethic and how easy it is to fall for the flash, especially in this industry. He also looks back on his decades of experience and gives real advice to the younger guys who want to take EP seriously. Find out more in this latest episode of The Fearless Mindset.GOLDEN NUGGETSReal-life EP is not like an action movie - Anton: "There's gonna be a lot of downtimes as far as you not having any action. 99% of what you're gonna do is downtime and logistics and soft skills and things like that. So when you look at these Bourne Supremacy movies and movies like John Wick... I don't want young guys thinking that's what this is, because it's not."Work ethic is everything in EP - Anton: "You might have some executive that's not really a high C-suite level or maybe you've got a celebrity who's not really that well known, or maybe you got an athlete who doesn't really sell that many jerseys, doesn't matter." "Treat 'em like it's Michael Jackson, treat him like he's Bill Gates, because if you put that kind of work ethic into everything you do, now I'm not saying you do it once or twice people are gonna notice, but after doing it for many years, eventually the cream rises to the top. And I would say almost 100% of Guardian's business has been word of mouth." You've probably heard Adam's work as the composer for documentaries such as Richard Pryor: Omit the Logic, Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind, and Enemies: The President, Justice & The FBI. He's also written and performed music for Six Feet Under, The Bourne Supremacy, The Devil Wears Prada, and Mr. & Mrs. Smith. The son of renowned jazz and R&B producer Joel Dorn, Adam is a lifelong Eagles fan who reached out to me last year after hearing about my penchant for drawing parallels to football and improvisational music and deciding we were going to become great friends. Adam and I share a love for Funk, R&B, and Jazz. Adam's longtime friendship with Marcus Miller began as a student-mentor relationship. If you don't know Marcus Miller, he's a renowned performer and producer who is also one of the kings of the electric bass. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpSlxS5Xkso I share these things about Adam because I want to set the stage for the story. Imagine Adam as a 17-year-old bassist with a full-blown Philly wise-ass mentality in the late 1980s learning his craft from Miller when he runs into KISS bassist, Gene Simmons while working as a grunt in a recording studio. Now imagine Simmons dismissing Adam's musical hero and their conversation degenerating into a bet that takes them into the streets of New York and leads to the ultimate comeuppance. Enjoy.
Welcome back to the SHUDcast and boy do we have some gloopy deliciousness in stock for this one (and aside from our lives in general)! We get past some initial wildness as Cody forces us to watch the end of a hockey match during our recording (and of course we kept it in because who doesn't want to hear us marvel at the oddness of our beloved Cody) and dig deep, deep, DEEP into the mind of one of our true artistic geniuses, Phil Tippet, with his stop-motion labor of love and all things bodily fluids: MAD GOD. Check it out and enjoy! 00:00 - 28:30ish Intros: Please excuse Cody as he makes us watch the ending of a hockey match as we open… but it highlights more of who he is as a lovely human being so bear with us. The boys experience weather for the first time, what it might be like to get old, Austin and Cody go to the Halsey show, our thoughts on other “pop acts”, Steve Albini and how music producers work, and Hollywood Bowl stuff. 28:30ish - 1:14:30ish What we watched this time: Errementari, Anaconda, Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight, Hustle, Shoresy, Alligator, Eyes of Fire, Stranger Things Season 4, Obi-Wan Kenobi, For All Mankind, Pain & Gain, Severance, The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum, Everything Everywhere All At Once (Austin finally took the plunge), and Jackass 4.5 (we contain multitudes). 1:14:30ish - 2:04:20 MAD GOD SHUDdown and discussion 2:04:20 - What we're watching next time!

Do You Expect Us To Talk? returns to start a new series with what many consider to be the contemporary rival to Bond. Based on the book series by Robert Ludlum, The Bourne Identity stars Matt Damon as man with no memory of who he is. Only that he has two bullet holes in his back, the ability to fight and speak serval languages. Little does he know that he has the CIA after him who would rather terminate him to cover up an assassination attempt as well as the man who he tried to kill. Join Becca, Dave and Chris as we discuss if this franchise had a real impact on the Bond series, when did regular actors start to do action films, what has Franka Potente been up to and how good is Run Lola Run, who is the real Brian Cox, Clive Warren and try and fail to not pronounce Matt Damon in the style of Team America.
