What is the recipe for developing deeper, more intimate relationships?  Breaking this all down in his new book, The Mindful Path to Intimacy, is couples therapist Dr. James Cordova, who talks to Yael about how true intimacy happens when vulnerability is met with warmth and acceptance and feeling safe being your real self with someone.  You'll hear some eye-opening research, including his “relationship checkup” method and how marriage therapy has evolved to focus on both behavior and acceptance.  If you are looking for ways to strengthen your relationship emotionally and physically—such as staying mindful, paying attention to one another, sexual intimacy, and making check-ins a regular habit—James has some extremely practical suggestions for you! Listen and Learn:  The true meaning of intimacy Balancing change and acceptance in relationships How can we stay open and kind when we hear something we don't want to? How mindfulness can transform intimacy The power of vulnerability and compassion in the face of conflict and how understanding your partner leads to a deeper connection Why our ancient instincts for self-protection clash with modern relationship needs How relational flexibility can transform your relationships How do daily hurts and unaddressed issues lead to distance in your relationship? Communication ideas for romantic, heterosexual couples after/through baby loss. Laura Amador, a Laura Doyle certified relationship coach shares 3 insightful ways to take care of your grief and bring you closer to your partner. You can find the guide "5 Steps to Reignite Connection in Your Marriage" that Laura Amador mentions in the episode here:https://www.coachlauraamador.com/5steps/?ref=SABRINAFLETCHER (My affiliate link)Another highly recommended resources:The Empowered Wife, book by Laura Doylehttps://www.amazon.com/Empowered-Wife-Updated-Expanded-Surprising/dp/1637742266....TAMING TFMR TRIGGERSwww.thetfmrdoula.com/triggersHaving the first drink of beer or coffee after you lose your baby...Trying to connect again with your partner through sggsy time...Going on the pre-planned "baby moon", but without your bump...Your clothes fitting differently, finding the baby clothes you bought with so much hope, even YOUR PARTNER not needing to change their clothes!!...All of these things and more can be a trigger after TFMR (termination for medical reasons) pregnancy loss.I went through it too after I lost my baby - there was even this one water glass that I always used to super hydrate in pregnancy. After my baby was gone that glass made me feel ill just looking at it. I wanted to smash it on the floor, run away from it and simultaneously enshrine it as a tiny memory with her - but it was wrapped in in SO MUCH PAIN.The triggers come from the pain, this ache, this desire and longing for our baby, but pop up at the LEAST convenient time. When you just want to drink a coffee and put on some pants in PEACE!!!I found that talking about the triggers in therapy, writing about them, thinking about how I could fix them logically, did not help. There's a direct line to the triggers, and it's in a place you can tap into -in the moment - to come back to your center too: the body. After I learned how to do this, I was able to drink coffee again, see pregnant bellies, even go to the gynecologist, without panic attacks and falling down on the ground in a bundle of tears.I'm going to show you how I do this in Taming TFMR Triggers, a workshop I am putting together for you and holding LIVE on Monday, February 10th.Here's the link again to sign upwww.thetfmrdoula.com/triggers ($11 USD) live or catch the replay after Feb. 10th‌….And if you would like to shareyour TFMR Story on "Our TFMR Stories," email me here to find out more: sabrina at theTFMRdoula dot comAnd for more support follow atwww.instagram.com/thetfmrdoulaMusic clip:Pamgaea by Kevin MacLeodLink:https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/4193-pamgaeaLicense:http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Financial Confidence for Microschool Founders – Funding, Pricing, and Policies to Support Your Vision In this episode of Teacher Let Your Light Shine, we're tackling the big questions every aspiring microschool founder has around funding, pricing, compensation, and policy setting. As you prepare to start or grow your microschool, financial confidence can make all the difference. From exploring creative funding options to setting policies that protect your budget, we're here to help you turn those question marks into a solid plan. If you're dreaming of launching your microschool in 2025, now is the time to get clear on the steps ahead. Ready to move from scarcity to abundance, and from hesitation to action? Tune in and discover the path to building a financially strong and purpose-driven microschool! Episode Highlights: Creative Funding for Your Microschool: Exploring Fractional Ownership Feeling overwhelmed by the need to secure funding? Fractional ownership might just be the solution. We'll dive into how fractional ownership works, its pros and cons, and if it could be a viable funding vehicle for your microschool. Wondering if there are other ways to raise funds besides tuition? We've got some creative ideas that will inspire you. Sole Proprietorship vs. Non-Profit: Which Structure Is Right for You? Choosing the right structure is one of the biggest decisions for new microschool founders. Should you go for a sole proprietorship, non-profit, or something else? We'll break down each option, covering both the benefits and challenges so you can find the right fit for your mission. Want clarity on what structure aligns with your vision? Let's explore the options. Pricing Strategies for Part-Time and Specials Classes Setting prices for specialized classes like art, Spanish, or PE can feel challenging, but it's essential to charge in a way that reflects the value of your offerings. We'll discuss how to create a pricing structure that's both financially sustainable and honors your expertise. Ever feel hesitant to charge what your classes are worth? This is your reminder to recognize your value. Handling Sick Days and Tuition Policies with Clarity and Compassion It's tough to enforce a no-refund policy when students miss school, but having clear policies helps protect your financial stability. We'll share tips on how to communicate these policies with empathy, while keeping firm boundaries. Struggling to balance fairness with financial security? We'll walk you through ways to stay clear and compassionate. Compensating Staff: Salaried vs. Hourly, and Providing Family Benefits Deciding how to pay your staff—salaried or hourly—can affect your budget and the overall culture of your school. We'll talk through options for compensation, whether or not to pay during breaks, and ways to support staff with family discounts or tuition-free options for their children. Curious how to build a compensation model that's both fair and feasible? Listen in to learn more. Why the End of the Year is Key for Your Microschool Planning As we approach the end of the year, this is the perfect time to plan for a financially abundant 2025. Reviewing your structure, policies, and pricing now sets you up for a smooth launch or expansion come January. These final months are ideal for laying a solid foundation—so you can start the new year with confidence and clarity. Tangible Steps for Financial Clarity and Growth Budgeting and Allocating Income – Wondering how to split your income between expenses, profit, and your own pay? We'll provide tips on how to set a budget that feels sustainable and secure. Setting Pricing That Reflects Your Value – Ready to price with confidence? Building Financial Foundations Early: How young couples and singles can set the groundwork for financial success that will serve them for life. Embracing the “Bougie on a Budget” Philosophy: Loving the finer things in life, guilt-free! Learn how to build a budget that includes your self-care without sacrificing your financial goals. Money Mindfulness vs. Mindlessness: Recognizing and stopping mindless spending, setting specific budgets for expenses like dining out, and being intentional with every dollar. Using “Bank Account Balancing” to Simplify Your Budgeting: How to automate your finances with separate bank accounts for bills, groceries, personal spending, and savings, so you know where every dollar is going. Ditching Credit Dependency: Shana and Vanessa explain the benefits of being your own bank, building savings instead of credit, and other ways to achieve big goals without relying on credit scores. Communication & Money in Relationships: Tips for keeping open, honest money conversations in relationships—turning budgeting into teamwork, not tension. 1. Taking the Shame Out of Spending Money should be a tool, not a source of stress. Shana and Vanessa's coaching approach encourages spending on what you love—just with a plan in place! You can enjoy the “bougie” things that bring you joy and still make progress on financial goals. 2. The Power of Automated Finances Automating transfers for different spending categories (like gas, groceries, and personal fun money) makes budgeting simple and empowers you to be intentional with your money. 3. Building Wealth Without Relying on Credit Credit cards are not a necessity for building financial security. Shana and Vanessa share strategies to save intentionally for future expenses and emergencies, eliminating the need for credit dependency. 4. Budgeting with Your Partner as a Team Building a financial plan together not only strengthens your financial health but also builds trust and clarity in relationships.
