The Lincoln City Football Club that Clive Nates invested into in early 2016 is almost unrecognisable from the entity that now sits established in League One. Who better to talk us through the incredible rise than Clive himself. He joins us to explain why he bought into the Imps, the appointment of Danny and Nicky Cowley and winning the Checkatrade Trophy at Wembley. Along the way he gives us an insight into signings like John Akinde from Barnet, where the London club's chairman would only deal with him directly, plus we learn about a deal agreed on a tennis court and we learn which player was signed with Clive in the car park of a vets. This is part one of two of our in-depth chairman with Clive Nates.
Matt Rhead is the definition of cult hero. He scored 50 goals for the Imps, helping seal two promotions and lifting three trophies. He didn't turn professional until he was 28, but was a key part of Danny and Nicky Cowley's side which got City back in the EFL and won the Checkatrade Trophy. Matt joins Sam Ashoo to discuss his career, time at the Imps and the remarkable growth in the club from his arrival under Chris Moyses to his eventual departure in 2019 with a clutch of medals under his arm.
Glenn aka The Sky Blue Hub is joined by SBFTV regulars Rhys Small & Victoria Oakes to share their memories & thoughts on Coventry City's 2-1 win v Oxford Utd at Wembley in the Checkatrade trophy on the 5 year anniversary of that game.
