In this week's episode, we chat with the National Association of Manufacturers Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, Chris Schmitt. Listen in as we talk about the impact the Conoravirus has had on manufacturing in the Midwest alongside the economic and workforce challenges manufacturing has been facing for the past decade, and what is being done to stimulate the industry.
“Hello, darkness, my old friend…” is the first thing Chris Schmitt hears in his head of when faced with overwhelming challenges. Chris is no stranger to ambiguity, as a US Army Green Beret who led teams in relentless environments in Afghanistan, the Sahara/Niger, Western Europe, and the Balkans. He advised the President of Mali in counter-terrorism infrastructure and directed friendly forces in uncertain combat environments. Today Chris embraces the sound of silence in the great outdoors: he founded Azimuth Consulting Group to facilitate leadership workshops and non-traditional, adventure-based, leadership development. This series is produced by The Human Impact Studio of TA Group Holdings, a veteran-owned firm, in partnership with NuWest Healthcare which is staffing hundreds of travel nurses for the coronavirus response across the nation. The series is dedicated to our brave nurses and healthcare workers.

In this episode of The Kula Ring, Jeff and Carman chat with Chris Schmitt, Senior Director of Strategic Development from the National Association of Manufacturers. They discuss the importance of using the data from new tools and technology to prove that marketing departments in manufacturing organizations are revenue generators, not just cost centers.

Holding a Master of Science in Organizational Development from Central Washington University, a Bachelor of Science in International Relations from the United States Military Academy at West Point, and pursuing Executive Certification for Coaching from Columbia University, Chris is uniquely qualified to executive coach, conduct cross-cultural mentoring, facilitate self-discovery, and assist others to attain success.
