Step into the cosmic realm of "Cosmic Disco Groove," where the stars align and the music takes you on a journey through dreamy dimensions and psychedelic rhythms. As you hit play, Shannon's timeless anthem "Let the Music Play" sets the stage, drawing you into a world of pulsating beats and infectious energy. But that's just the beginning. Get ready to be enchanted by a hypnotic, warm, and easy listening groove that wraps you in its embrace, inviting you to lose yourself in the music. Throughout the mix, you'll encounter a stellar lineup of tracks that will keep you grooving all night long. Feel the funk with Hotmood's "A Long Time Ago" and let the soulful vibes of Kraak & Smaak's "Ready for Ya" wash over you. Then, get ready to dance with Yam Who's "Let's Get Together" and Ken@Work's "Up Funk," as they infuse the mix with House, Latin, Balearic, and Disco flavors. But the magic doesn't stop there. Seamlessly blending house, garage, and funk undertones, Seamus Haji's "Low Fi Dance" and Eli Escobar's "In My Bones" elevate the groove to new heights. And just when you think it can't get any better, prepare to be blown away by a very special remix of Chic's "I Need Your Love," mashed up with Carly Simon's "Why," creating a truly unforgettable moment that will leave you breathless. So whether you're hitting the dance floor or chilling under the stars, "Cosmic Disco Groove" promises to take you on a musical odyssey like no other. Get ready to surrender to the rhythm and let your soul soar into the cosmos. All tracks are selected and mixed by @thefunkassassin with Love. Picture this: you hit play, and the smooth, sultry voice of Patrice Rushen in "Remind Me" sets the tone, gently guiding you into a realm where time seems to slow down and worries drift away. As the hypnotic groove takes hold, you find yourself swaying to the warm, pulsating rhythms, effortlessly carried away on a wave of euphoria. But the journey has only just begun. Eli Escobar's "Manhattan" beckons you deeper into the cosmic expanse, its infectious melodies intertwining with funky basslines to create an irresistible fusion of soulful beats and otherworldly vibes. And just when you think it can't get any better, "If It Takes a Miracle" sweeps you off your feet with its infectious energy, inviting you to lose yourself in the rhythm and let go of all inhibitions. Throughout the mix, you'll discover an eclectic blend of soul, Latin, Balearic, disco, and funk undertones, each track seamlessly merging into the next to create a sonic tapestry unlike any other. Writer/Director/Star Sujewa Ekanayake comes out with a sequel to his quirky "The Secret Society for Slow Romance" with "Cosmic Disco Detective Rene." The film follows a Detective getting in touch with beings capable of time travel by listening to Disco music. Through his incredible detective skills, Rene is able to communicate with the time-traveling beings and bring a sense of peace to the planet. "Cosmic Disco Detective Rene" is a fun conversation on the things that interest its director more than telling a dramatic story. It's a lighthearted, slow cinema commentary on the state of cinema and love for independent film. Nothing is meant to be taken seriously, and the firm's dry style allows the viewer to relax among its many long takes between scenes. It's not meant to entice the viewer with high production value, more than it is designed to present a sense of calm. The film stars Rene, played by Ekanayake, who seems content with himself and the universe that he connects to. Let's see if we connect. My conversation with Sujewa starts right here! IndieSeen returns with the show you've all been waiting for!Sujewa's follow-up to The Secret Society for Slow Romance has just begun its multi-media roll-out, and Ian welcomes the writer/director and his co-star, Alia Lorae, for a no-holds-barred look at Cosmic Disco Detective Rene! Now that Rene and Allyson's plan to end global poverty through independent film has taken off, Rene can focus on his other passion--solving bizarre mysteries! When a federal agent (Genoveva Rossi) contacts him to figure out if the strange lights in Sunset Park represent a threat from immortal time travelers, the quirky private eye must tune into the vibrations of the universe (which just happen to sound like disco music) to get answers...and possibly save the world! In this wide-ranging interview, Ian, Sujewa, and Alia dig into the film's narrative and visual language, its themes, and mainstream accessibility. For our next mixtape set, duo Auf Togo will be taking us into a session of Pop, Funk & 70's Cosmic Disco, filled with hypnotic grooves and absorbing melodies. Auf Togo is the long-time collaboration between Sasa Crnobrnja and Clement Cachot-Coulom which is inspired by the Cosmic disco sounds of the late 70s/early '80s. Sasa Crnobrnja originates from the deep, disco-laced house duo of his duo alias In Flagranti (Kitsune, Phantasy, Gomma & more) and Clement Cachot-Coulom from bands The Fabulous Penetrators and Big Girls. With the Auf Togo formation, they present a sound that echoes the richness and flavour of vintage recording equipment and instruments whilst holding the edge and sharpness of modern studio techniques. The duo presents a loose, almost improvised sound that works very well within the rigid confines of house music. Psychedelic echoey guitars clash with probing synth lines and live-sounding rhythm sections and their heavy kicks and singing cowbells, their deep basslines and spare guitar licks blur the line between rigid, quantised sounds and the duo's refreshing human touch. Auf Togo recently their new album, Movements (SaS Recording). The record, unconventional in its production, stems from samples extracted from Clement's riffs and jams on guitar, bass and keys, all of which are then ultimately sown together by Sasa's expert production For this mix we can expect…well all that has been said before, abstract sensuous grooves, well-crafted melodies, avant-garde Kosmiche and space disco sounds which hopefully take us away from all that January wintery blues. Tracklist: Lion - Youve Got A Woman (Abel Edit) Os Mutantes - Ando Meio Desligado Nu Genea & Celia Kameni Marechià - Marechià Serge Gainsbourg - Sea, Sex & Sun (Barry & Gibbs Edit) Minami Deutsch - Futsu Ni Ikirenai Lizzy Mercier Descloux - Fire Giorgio Moroder - Chase The Fatback Band - Are You Ready (Bus Stop) - Mitiko Puma & The Dolphin - Toys Noise Django Reinhardt - Rhythm Future

Welcome to the world underneath, ghouls. Don't panic, Candace and Ariel are here to guide you out of the simulation with the help of author Hailey Piper; we're talking about John Carpenter's Reagan-era classic They Live (1988), along with Dark City (1998), a mind-bending noir we couldn't believe came out right before The Matrix. In this episode: Lovecraft (barely), monster fucking (of course), houseless protagonists, horror noobery, the merits of edgy teenager politics (maybe it really is all bullshit), meta alien Roger Ebert, and the way time is a flat circle. Also, this episode is especially fun because it's secretly a quadruple feature if you read Hailey's books Queen of Teeth and The Worm and His Kings. Tons of cosmic horror to go around, folks. Tear down the walls of your perception with us. It will only hurt for a minute. Hailey Piper is the author of horror books such as The Worm and His Kings, Queen of Teeth, Unfortunate Elements of My Anatomy, and more. Once hailing from the haunted woods of New York, she now lives with her wife in Maryland. Find her at www.haileypiper.com or on Twitter via @HaileyPiperSays.
Extending the depth and shortening the vocals comes the latest tornado of rhythmic psychedelia in the form of Freddie Fiasco. First standing behind the decks in 1969 at a club in a small town near Rimini, a young Italian DJ would spend the 1970s honing both his craft and a unique slant on the disco music that was being pioneered across the Atlantic. By the 1980s, Daniele Baldelli's Cosmic Disco was ready to lift off, literally; his DJ booth at Cosmic, an influential nightclub by Lake Garda, designed to replicate the cockpit of a spaceship. Informing a more esoteric brand of disco the world over, Baldelli's tendency to dig out unknown gems, to spin 45s at 33, incorporate instruments and live elements into his sets, had rubbed off onto a generation of space disconauts; a sound that has endured to this day through artists such as Lindstrøm and Prins Thomas. For his latest deep dive, Øhm Sweet Øhm takes us back to the 1970s and '80s via an ethereal realm of otherworldliness, a cosmic 60 minutes of dancefloor wooziness guaranteed to take you to places you could never have imagined. Get ready for lift off. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Hailing from South Korea, Shubostar has been immersing herself in the ever-evolving underground scenes of South Korea and Thailand, but now finds herself in Mexico. Her eclectic musical taste spans various styles, but her music is united by the common theme of cosmic; you could say she plays a form of Cosmic Disco. She also runs a label called uju Records alongside Korean collaborator/painter Daryung Kim, and the latest release on the imprint is from Shubostar herself, ’Galaxy Express’, a sure-fire dancefloor gem that is cosmic and delightful in equal spades. @shubostar @ujurecords ==================================================== Upcoming Novel events: Saturday 20th July: Red Bull presents: 1800-Doof @ Secret underground carpark, St. Kilda www.facebook.com/events/260789384757389/ Thursday 26th September: Novel Presents Stephan Bodzin (Live 2 Hrs) + Made in Paris @ Thornbury Social Club, Melbourne www.facebook.com/events/646021399195048/ Friday 27th September: Novel & Division Agency Presents Stephan Bodzin (Live 2 Hrs +) @ The Enmore Theatre, Sydney www.facebook.com/events/2360909624191640/ Wednesday 1st of January: Let Them Eat Cake NYD @ Werribee Mansion (Line-up TBA) ==================================================== Stay in touch: www.facebook.com/weareNovel/
Champions League winner John Arne Riise lifts the lid on life in the Liverpool dressing room, discusses becoming Norway’s most capped player and mixing it with France’s World Cup winners as a teenager. He also opens up on the difficulties of handling family life for “selfish” footballers. Of course we discuss music too, including the former Roma and Fulham star’s first gig and an artist from his home town causing a stir. And we cover the ‘cosmic disco’ which emerged from Norway and influenced dance music across the globe.
Johnny Warman - Screaming Jets Edit By Petko Turner Warman was born in Bethnal Green, East London. He then moved to Hackney at the age of seven where he enjoyed a normal idyllic childhood, frequently climbing trees and scrumping over Victoria Park. Within Warman's home there was always music in some shape or form although nobody played an instrument, his mother sang and his father was a terrible singer no matter how much he tried. Warman enjoyed his school years very much and when he first heard The Beatles at the age of 11, he was walking home from school when he passed another school building and heard music. He was so transfixed by the sound so much he walked up to the Dansette record player to find an Ep cover for the song playing - "Love me do". He decided to join the school choir. He was picked to sing at the Royal Opera House in 1964, where he sang alongside Maria Callas and Tito Gobbi. Warman considered this a pivotal event in his choice of singing as a career. Warman was (and remains) a keen fan of both The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. He had no hesitation in choosing between being a Mod or a Rocker once he had heard The Who. After Jimi Hendrix (considered a "Guitar Messiah" by Warman) had burst onto the British music scene in 1966 when Warman first heard "Hey Joe" he realised all he wanted to be was a Rock Star. Whilst in school Warman wrote a song called, "Cosmic Butterflies" and joined a band called "Sounds Like Six," with Kevin Molyneux on lead guitar. During the late 1960s Warman frequented many live music performances including Jimi Hendrix thrice and other groups including The Move, The Iveys and Pink Floyd whilst using the Melody Maker as his bible.
