The Health New Zealand leader says their cost growth has plateaued. Its report for the June quarter shows the preliminary result for the financial year is a $934 million deficit. Earlier, in quarter three, a $299 million surplus was forecast. Chief Executive Margie Apa told Heather du Plessis-Allan they've stopped their cost growth and have stabilised in the past quarter. With the settlement, YouTube also agreed not to run “personalized” advertisements -- which rely on web browsing behavior and other targeting data -- on videos it decided are aimed at kids.“Shutting off personalized ads on creators’ content will cause more harm than good, especially for children,” reads the Change.org petition. “Quality family-friendly content will shrink, while more mature content will grow -- yet kids will still be watching.”The petition was started by Jeremy Johnston, a creator whose channel, J House Vlogs, has nearly 2 million subscribers. Johnston said he has met with multiple FTC commissioners about the issue. “I was surprised about how little they knew about the YouTube creator perspective,” he said. Johnston described his meetings with the agency as “really productive.”Videos for kids are among the most-watched on YouTube. Cocomelon, a channel of nursery rhymes, is the third-most-popular channel on the site, according to SocialBlade. Like Nastya, a child video blogger, ranks fifth.Tough SpotThe popularity of kids’ programming has put YouTube in an uncomfortable position. The company has maintained that the site isn’t for children, and doesn’t allow viewers under the age of 13. It created a separate app for kids, but its audience is about 1% the size of YouTube’s total reach.The internet obliterated many of the safeguards on children’s media. While television networks have strict regulations about what material they can and can’t show -- and some kids’ TV networks don’t accept advertising -- there are no such rules online.The FTC is in the process of reviewing how technology companies collect data on minors, a practice regulated under the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, or COPPA. The agency fined ByteDance Inc., which owns the video app TikTok, $5.7 million earlier this year. The law was also used in the case against YouTube. The FTC now is weighing updates to COPPA.Many video creators are anxious about those updates and the new restrictions on YouTube, which go into effect in January. The rules place the onus on the creator to identify if their programming is for kids, rather than YouTube. And the creators could face significant fines for not complying.When the restrictions on personalized ads go into effect, some YouTubers may see a decline in their revenue from the video service. Those rule punish creators unfairly, Johnston said.”The truth of the matter is that parents aren’t as concerned about personalized ads as the FTC makes it out to be,” he said.Spokeswomen for YouTube and the FTC declined to comment.The creators behind the petition want the FTC to delay enforcement of any new laws and keep them from applying to a wider swath of videos. Of particular concern is the way the agency defines a video for children. During an FTC public meeting last month, agency staff discussed a shift in the definition from online media “directed to kids” and those that attract minors.“‘Child-attractive’ could be anything on YouTube,” said Melissa Hunter from Family Video Network, another organizer behind the petition. “We feel that’s way too broad. And that shows a lack of understanding about YouTube.”YouTube has said it will comply with the new rules, but it has also encouraged creators to express their views. The company sent a notice to creators over the summer informing them of a workshop with the FTC. “It is important they hear from creators and small businesses that could be deeply impacted by potential changes,” a YouTube representative wrote, according to an email viewed by Bloomberg News.

Whether it is the cooking the cleaning or the things that break and cause us to have to make unplanned trips off the couch. Yvonne and I in what will likely be a many part series will focus on the food and food preparation issues that plague ADHD households. In a world that makes no sense to me but perfect sense to her is the source of this broadcast. I do not believe we made any progress but that is not the nature of what we do here at the Tom Nardone Show. We are here to celebrate our differences and prove to the world that in a happy marriage (particularly an ADHD marriage) the Kitchen is not a battle worth fighting.   Greetings ADHD People. I am Tom Nardone and I am pleased to bring you up to date on a couple of things. My wife Yvonne and I have been working hard over the past month, and I am now pleased to officially announce “OUR” (ughhh) new Podcast’ on its own website.  As many of you know we have already released 2 pilot episodes earlier this year and we were appreciative of the response  we got from so many of you. We will be discussing the things that many ADHD couples discuss only we will be doing it on the show. Yvonne will disagree with me a lot because apparently she likes to argue. I will of course be all to willing to explain to her why she is wrong. We will speak about throwing food into the woods, letting the laundry pile up , and even the wearing of pajamas out in public. I am actually trying to convince Yvonne to do a show in a public store while we wear our pajamas.  We will have interesting guests who will not be permitted to discuss brain scans, types of diagnoses, medical theories, medication, ways to become more efficient, or most words beginning with the prefix, “neuro”. We support, appreciate and understand the value of all of this, but it is simply just not the function of our show. We are a real ADHD couple who really have ADHD and while we hope this show may somehow help you, its purpose is to entertain you and help you understand that you are not alone and having ADHD does not have to be a guaranteed miserable existence. I love ADHD people and it has been and remains my privilege to address so many of you. I am so excited to be able to communicate with you in this way. Please dont worry. Tom Nardone is still Tom Nardone. I had to learn all about Pod-casting in a very short period of time and put a studio together. It looks a lot like my man-cave but with a bunch more equipment in it. If you look carefully you might be able to spot some of it a midst the debris. Thank You Justine Ruotolo(Miss ADD), Jeff Copper, Eric Tivers, and Kim Trumbo. You have all inspired us to do this and without you believing in us first, it never would have happened. Below you can listen to episodes one and two. Early this week we will be releasing episodes 0,1 and 2. We hope to release two shows a week for the next 8 weeks. I know it is an exciting time to be a live and to have ADHD. The Tom Nardone Show is coming soon. ADHD is about to get a lot more fun.

  This is our very first Podcast so please forgive the sound I assure you it is entertaining. I thought it would be fitting since this was the first podcast because it was also the first Blog post I have ever written Whether or not we are ADHD, mostt of us don’t have the luxury of living our lives on our laptops, being accountable only to our followers. We have to get up and leave the house. We have to go to our jobs, therefore, we have to be around people. What that means, hygienically speaking, is that we have to be clean. This is where my wife, Yvonne likes to butt heads with me and attempt to sway me in my unmovable, inflexible, unyielding, sound, well thought-out, and rigidly held theory about the pants I wear. My theory is as follows: A pair of pants can go several days, even weeks, yes weeks, plural, before needing to be put in the washer machine. I know many of you are making a face. You are cringing, and/or twitching at the thought of this. You would never consider this as an option, but I would ask that you at least give me a chance to explain to you people why you are all wrong. The human body simply does not treat a pair of pants in the same fashion that it does other articles of clothing.  Whether or not ADHD is a factor in this or not, I couldnt tell you for sure. I have found in the ADHD circles I am involved with, Most of the people tend to agree 100% or disagree 100%. There is seemingly no middle ground.

D.R.O.P.S is a recently formed collective of three like-minded, forward thinking musicians, Teksteppa, Cemtek and Arookai, with very different musical pasts. The sum of these parts equals a deep techy party vibe. Teksteppa has been producing DnB for a number of years, with releases on Blue Cheese Records, UKDNB and more. Recently his releases have gained DJ support from S.P.Y, Optiv, Muffler, AMC, Mutated Forms, Danny Wheeler, Hazard and Mind Vortex, amongst others. He has had tracks top out at numbers 11 and 32 in the Drum & Bass Arena charts.Teksteppa is a force to be reckoned with and it seems that this is just the beginning for him. Arookai AKA Mike Smythy has been heavily involved with the music industry for years and, although relatively new to DnB, has had countless releases on highly respected labels in other genres. He is an important part of the freeform hardcore scene, has had mixes featured in the top 5 dance compilations on iTunes and has played all over the UK. Arookai is a music junky, regardless of genre. Expect eclectic twisted sounds coming from his direction this year! Cemtek AKA Scott Geden is a purveyor of dirty, techy basslines and FX fuelled atmospheric naughtiness. When he is not glued to his studio he is usually found on the decks and has an extremely keen ear for music. His musical past has taken him through numerous production courses and after years of producing hip hop he has slowly moved towards DnB. Cemtek will become a name to look out for. Collectively they spend every waking minute in the studio, they have bookings coming up in London, Bristol and Stratford upon Avon and will be looking to release some serious sounds this year!
