The stand-out moment was when Rogan asked him about what everyone calls the assassination attempt in Butler, PA, on July 13, 2024. Trump started one sentence, began another, pointed to two different areas of his ear, and stumbled through his standard narrative (“there was so much blood,” “I knew I was shot through the ear” “the Secret Service were terrific” etc) but really didn't give Rogan a close look at his right here, to which Rogan sardonically replies, “it looks pretty f*cking pristine.” Observations in this video: Donald Trump has incredible physical stamina for a 78-year-old Trump almost never speaks in full sentences, always phrases and clauses We hear many times that Trump's generals defeated the entire ISIS caliphate Trump is “interested in abolishing federal income tax” with no particular strategy Rogan asks him about when he switched from Dem to GOP and he said, “the early 90s,” except that Trump registered as a Republican in Manhattan in 1987 and has switched party affiliation five times since. In 1999, he switched to the Independence Party of New York, then in August 2001, Trump changed his party affiliation to Democrat; then in September 2009, he changed his party affiliation back to the Republican Party. In December 2011, Trump changed to "no party affiliation" (independent). But in April 2012, he again returned to the Republican Party. When asked about the Butler PA event, Trump points his finger to two different places on his right ear and interrupts himself all over the place he says “it was a Top Shot” then he says it “I got zicked right here”....  and really does not show Joe Rogan his ear for more than one second. Strange features of the Butler event: 1) why was Trump allowed to stand straight up —even though loosely surrounded by agents— five seconds after the gun sounds stopped? "They were told the shooter was neutralized." Really? Ever hear of "more than one shooter?"  2) the photo of the bullet zinging by by Mr. Trump's head would only be visible if the shutter speed were set to at a very high shutter speed. So the photographer seemed to be either ready for a bullet capture or an exploding head. 3) The photographer's name?  Doug Mills of the NYT...the very same fellow who took the pic of Andy Card whispering into Dubya's ear in that classroom on 9/11. What are the odds?   4) In the readymade, edited and published statement less than 90 minutes after getting shot in the ear by a long rifle, Trumps stated "a bullet was shot through my ear." His words. Two days later, Eric Trump tweeted that no stitches were needed. After the bandage was removed, all pics and video since show a pristine right ear. Odd.  5) In his RCS speech, Mr. Trump described all the blood on his hand with which he touched his ear. Yet, the live feed footage and all the still pics show zero blood on his right hand. Strange thing to get wrong.  6) I could fall down hundreds of times and my shoes would never fall off. Yet, Trump's did. He's on the hot mike asking to put his shoes back on. Bizarre. 7) The perfect "Iwo Jimaesque" photo of Trump with his defiant fist in the air, rivulets of blood on his face, and Old Glory fluttering gloriously in the background looks what some have called staged. Just noticing things and asking questions.  8) Why are only two three cell phone clips available to the public when you can see many hundreds of cell phones held up filming?  9) We are only allowed to see a small handful of "eyewitnesses" -- one a BBC interviewer talking to a MAGA guy in a beard and red visor. He was parroting the same thing the legacy media said a million times since, and we never learn his name. (There were similar blue collar "eye-witnesses" on the morning of 9/11 "expertly" describing jet fuel melting the steel infrastructures of the towers.)  10) To this day we still know next to zero about this 20-year-old nerd "Thomas Crooks" except that he was in a Black Rock tv commercial. FInal thought: how do you explain the massive audience size for this disjointed except that it validates Marshall McLean's dictum that “the medium is the message;” namely, you don't need to say coherent things so much as you just need to have interesting people: Joe Rogan the top podcaster and former president Trump, probably the most recognizable face in the world

Drawing on themes from his new book Passport to Perfection (Essentialist Press) Torkington points out the biblical and apostolic roots of contemplative prayer, while exposing the faux versions so popular today. David, at 85 years young, reflects on his journey as a whistleblowing priest, a role that brought him both challenges and clarity to his priesthood as a Franciscan and as a Catholic. He also opens up about overcoming severe dyslexia, sharing how his condition shaped his spiritual life and the development of his theological insights. His message, delivered in his lovely English country gentleman accent, makes real the ideal of recovered hope and a deepened love for God. He says the key is to reconnect with God through persistent and authentic prayer. In this personal edition of the podcast I give a detailed account of why I dumped alcohol on November 4th 2019. It wasn't because I think alcohol is wrong or evil in itself. As a Catholic, I don't believe that. The wedding miracle at Cana happened when Jesus changed six jars of water into wine, not grape juice (John 2.)   But for me it was the right decision. I didn't like how alcohol reacted to my body and vice versa. What delayed my quitting for a couple of years was my quiet anxiety that I would crave it if I quit it. The thought that I was an alcoholic was disturbing enough. The whole idea of no longer drinking made me nervous because I didn't know what my reaction would be. My dad (Jack, RIP +2018) was an alcoholic who found sobriety through AA; his father died from acute alcoholism.   I hope and pray this episode inspires you to give serious thought to dumping alcohol. I have never looked back, and actually rarely think of it.   Backstory to the reasons why I quit:   Anecdotes about my father's (and his father's) alcoholism In what sense I buy the disease model of alcoholism I loved the natural high feeling when I did the Whole 30 Diet, and dropped 20 pounds without trying I met a Chaldean Christian at a party who told me he quit drinking as a spiritual sacrifice—a kind of fast—on behalf of souls who are away from Christ, and why it moved me I peed the bed through the night after drinking too much over not enough hours I had my first and only blackout during a backyard party that involved too many tequila shots My habit of weeping while watching romantic comedies bothered and embarrassed me My decision to change my mindset from “giving up” drinking to “getting rid” of drinking I fell in love with San Pellegrino sparkling water, crushed ice, and lemon slices   Resources mentioned in this episode:    To Slake a Thirst: The Matt Talbot Way of Sobriety https://amzn.to/4etPo6A by Philip Maynard    Patrick Coffin: Website: https://www.patrickcoffin.media/ Twitter: @coffinmedia Facebook: Patrick Coffin Media Insta: @realpatrickcoffin Rumble: The Patrick Coffin Show

Walker, the Acting Special Agent in Charge of the New York Field Office of Homeland Security Investigations.   Diddy was charged with a three-count indictment for racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.     But this case is not about celebrity gossip or the downfall of one or two bad apples.    It is a revelation of the depth of depravity and denial that has always characterized the entertainment industry. The Diddy indictment alleges that between 2008 and 2024, he abused, threatened, and coerced women and others, and led a racketeering conspiracy that engaged in sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice, among other crimes.   In the Hollyweird orbit of Epsteins and Weinsteins, why would a Combs indictment for similar behavior shock us? There are more questions to be asked.   Topics covered in this episode:   Why is no one talking about the “family tree” of mentorship and manipulation by the man who discovered Diddy, R&B producer Andre Harrell, and the man who discover Harrell—the creepy self-described bisexual Clive Davis, founder of Arista Records. How did Diddy's career really start? Former insiders to follow: R&B singer Jaguar Wright, comedian Katt Williams, and former Diddy bodyguard Gene Deal. Troubled rappers connected to Diddy: JayZ, Drake, Usher, 50 cent, Tupac Shakur, Biggie Smalls (aka the Notorious BIG), R. In this episode of The Patrick Coffin Show, host Coffin critiques a recent interview between Jordan Peterson and Zeena Schreck, daughter of Anton Szandor LeVay (born Levey, 1930-1997). With direct quotes, Coffin expresses concern over the normalization of occult and satanic figures in mainstream discussions, arguing that Peterson's platforming of Schreck inadvertently lends credibility to her controversial past as a high priestess in the church of satan. Coffin dissects the conversation, highlighting what appears to be Peterson's failure to critically engage with the spiritual dangers associated with the new tantric Buddhism, which replaced her Satanism after a leadership stint in the Sethian Liberation Movement (SLM), another occultic sect. She has distanced herself from her previous satanic beliefs, but the Peterson interview fails to provide cautionary context regarding the influences of diabolical ideologies. Confused and suffering people like Zeena Schreck deserve the clarity of the fullness of truth and healing found uniquely in Christ. Peterson's gnostic-Jungian biases, however, seem to prevent him from bringing an objective, biblical critique to the self-rationalizing narrative laid down by his guest.  The episode encourages listeners to approach crucial interviews like this with discernment, especially when discussing spirituality and metaphysical basics like good and evil— matters that not only impact personal perceptions of morality and faith, but of reality itself.   Covered in this episode: The dangers of reducing a satanist monster like Anton LeVay into a mere “carnival barker” or “showman” Evidence that his daughter Zeena Schreck is still bound in some way by evil spirits Why Jesus Christ is the only answer to the reality of satanic influence and infiltration What happens when true evil is banalized as a mere human construct The effects of profound satanic initiation and neglect Why “tantric Buddhism” is just a more benign form of satan worship Thoughts on the dangers of the writings of Carl Gustav Jung   Resources mentioned in this episode:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmWXuEKTLcY

He is licensed to practice before any ecclesiastical court in the world, except the tribunals of the Holy See, and specializes in the nullity of Marriage, penal canon law, rotal Jurisprudence and praxis, and the rights of clerics and the faithful.   He was recruited to serve as a staff canonist for the Sacred Roman Rota in the Vatican for the Holy See, and his record includes service in the United States for the Archdioceses of Saint Paul & Minneapolis, Saint Louis, and Los Angeles; England for the Archdiocese of Westminster; and France for the Archdiocese of Strasbourg.    In this interview, Balestrieri offers a detailed analysis of the canonical definitions of schism and whether Viganò's outspoken critiques of Francis, in light of the July 2024 Vatican announcement of Viganò's excommunication for schism. They explore Viganò's controversial stance on issues like the Second Vatican Council and his sharp critiques of the Vatican's leadership.   The conversation then pivots to the question of Bergoglio's legitimacy as pope. Balestrieri shares insights into historical and canonical precedents that fuel arguments for and against the idea that Francis may not be the true successor of St. Peter. (Start the list with Hill Street Blues, M.A.S.H., Moonlighting, Northern Exposure, I'll Fly Away, Judging Amy and The Good Wife).  Her new book, her first non-fiction work, tackles the silencing of Father Paul Mankowski, SJ by the Jesuit superiors who could not abide a practicing Catholic in their midst. Mankowski, who died suddenly of an aneurysm on September 3, 2020, was a scholar, philologist, confessor, and professor of Scripture. He was also a writer of immense talent: charm, force, and wit.  He was modern in the sense of addressing contemporary crises with Catholic truth, but also a true son of the Company of Jesus more in the mold of its founder, St. Ignatius of Loyola than the typical lavender-liberal Jesuits that dominate the landscape today. He was also silenced and sidelined by his superiors for Wrong Think. And yet, he obeyed and persevered to a degree that must be called heroic. Hall's very enjoyable book is not just a spiritual biography, but a window onto the chain-of-command dynamics of the post Vatican II Catholic Church, which have become even more severe under the current Argentine regime in Rome. In this episode, you will learn: How Hall applied top-flight storytelling skills to tell the tale, with admirable detail, of an unheralded hero in the Church. It comes in many forms, but in Canada it's more and more becoming codified in law. As Dr. Jordan Peterson (and those observing his plight) have learned, the PC Game now has legal teeth and real-world consequences for those who don't want to play. Dr. Peterson is a professor of psychology at the University of Toronto and a clinical psychologist. He recently posted a series of lectures on his YouTube channel with titles like “Professor Against Political Correctness,” “Fear and the Law,” and “The University of Toronto Requests My Silence.” These lectures were delivered after the University's HR department mandated that “trans people” be called by of the newfangled pronouns like zie, hir, ey, em, eir, they, co, xe, to name but a sample of the absurdist verbiage that has been coughed up by activists. The good professor is not having any of it. And he's putting his job on the line—and whatever other punishments that may be in store if he is hauled before the Ontario Human Rights Commission (sounds cuddly, don't it?). For if Bill C-16 is passed in Canada at the federal level, “gender identity” and “gender expression” join the List of the Prohibited and constitute actionable grounds of discrimination. New York City already has a similar law. Those guilty of “mis-gendering” must pay a $250,000 fine. The Big Apple recognizes 31 gender identities, by the way. But this isn't merely about pronouns. What's at stake is whether the government or any other institution should be allowed to control and proscribe human speech, especially when the phrasing of the controllers are vague and impossible to interpret consistently, let alone police equitably. When Italy's fascist dictator Benito Mussolini sought a more “virile language” for his machismo vision of the Italian nation, he required the comradely voi (the plural “y'all”) for Lei, the feminine form. Under his rule, voi was obligatory in schools, public offices, movie subtitles, radio shows, and public ceremonies. Not surprisingly, Italians dropped the fear-based nonsense and reverted to the traditional Lei when the hated dictator fell from power.

The emotional, some say spiritual, effect music has on us is notoriously difficult to put into words. It's sort of like analyzing why something is funny. The reality ever exceeds our verbal grasp. Why are minor chords sad and majors happy? Why, when you hear a song from your childhood is there a superglue of emotion attached, bringing you instantly to those moments long ago? This week's guest is one of the greats in the choral music world. If you enjoy music with a lush, cinematic sound created for multiple voices on the exquisite side, Morten Lauridsen is your man. The most frequently performed American composer of choral music, Lauridsen is a National Medal of Arts recipient (2007), he was composer-in-residence of the Los Angeles Master Chorale (1994–2001), and has been a professor of composition at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music for more than 50 years. His work has been recorded on over 200 CDs including five with Grammy nominations. We're talking serious musical gravitas here. On November 11, 2018, a massive concert for international television is being held at the Brandenburg Gate in Germany to mark the centenary of the end of World War One. In addition to Welsh composer Karl Jenkins' Mass for Peace, the other piece selected is Lauridsen's beautiful Lux Aeterna. I predict not a dry eye on that night. This episode debuted six years ago, and I could think of no better show to honor my all-time favorite movie, Frank Capra's It's a Wonderful Life (1947)  through the eyes of two women with close ties to its creation. If Mr. Capra didn't write it, why do I call it “Frank Capra's It's a Wonderful Life? It's because that's how the movie was marketed, which helps explain why the film got only a so-so reception when it was first released. Most of Mr. Capra's pre-World War II movies were so sweet-hearted that they later earned the moniker “Capracorn,” not meant as a compliment. It's a Wonderful Life is one of the most critically acclaimed films ever made. Nominated for five Academy Awards including Best Picture, recognized by the American Film Institute as one of the 100 best American films ever made, and placed number 11 on its initial 1998 greatest movie list, it also ranked number one on its list of the most inspirational American films of all time. Think about that. In light of the fact that hundreds of thousands of movies have been made, this is a jaw-dropping achievement. By the end of the Second World War, though, the mood of the movie-going public had shifted, as I wrote about the making of the movie in National Review a few years ago HERE. The next day after it was published, an appreciative email from a woman named Mary Owen arrived in my inbox. Turns out, Mary is the daughter of actress Donna Reed, who played Mary Bailey, the wife of James Stewart's George Bailey. I thanked her for the lovely email and we had a few back-and-forths. After my podcast was up on two feet and spreading around the world (110 countries and counting), I thought it would be fun to have her on the show to talk about her mother's role in this now-international favorite Christmas movie and to learn some back story to her mother's career and her commitment to writing back to the G.I's who wrote to her from the trenches and the gun turrets of World War II. The interview segues nicely into the next one, a rich conversation with actress Karolyn Grimes who played Zuzu, one of the four Bailey kids. Remember Zuzu's petals? This was a real treat for me who loves the movie so well, and I know it will be for you as well.

This week's guest is a mentor and kind of spiritual mother to Milo Yiannopoulos (whose very candid interview with me was Episode 101) and wrote the bracing Foreword to his latest book (see link below). Dr Rachel Fulton Brown is a tenured professor of history at the University of Chicago, and a renowned medieval scholar with a speciality in the area of devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. She is also a fervent convert to the Catholic Faith. In this episode we dive deep into the biblical and historical roots of the role of the Blessed Mother in salvation history, and suggest ways to answer objections to the truth about Mary. In this episode you will learn: Why we say Mary is the Mother of God and not just the Mother of Jesus Why all Marian doctrine is Christological in nature How the medieval era got things right regarding the role of Mary in the life of the Church When devotion to Mary went into eclipse and how to revive it Why Our Lady is a powerful intercessor for all mankind, not just Catholics The reason why all the titles of Mary in all the litanies can never exhaust her beauty nor the full truth about her person and mission. Most Americans (and many Canadians!) tend to view the political climate in Canada as hopeless, being run indirectly by LGBT activists, leftist public officials, neo-Marxist advisors, and most of it aided and abetted by a very liberal media establishment. Even if this hyperbole were true, there are some people with conservative principles willing to step into the breach and run for office. My guest this week is one of them. Tanya Granic Allen is a wife, mother, professional communicator, parental rights advocate—and a practicing Catholic. In 2018, despite rising popularity among Ontario voters, she was removed (illegally?) by Premier Doug Ford as a candidate for the Progressive Conservative Party leadership. That's a longer side-bar story, but in this interview, she talks about “social conservative” values and how they shape voters' decisions as much as economic or other factors. Her presidency of PAFE (Parents As First Educators) put pro-family, anti-sex education concerns in the public's mind, which is a rare set of priorities in a Canadian politician. (Even privately pro-life ones are generally chicken to talk about it.) But this unabashedly pro-life Catholic leader is a sign of great hope for a country under the spell of rabid secularism for too long.   In this episode you will learn The explicitly Christian roots of Canada, as seen in Coats of Arms, and the founding documents of the country How Quebec is a sign of what happens when faith is taken for granted, and then widely rejected in favor of worship of the state, er province Why parents' rights have now taken a front-and-center place in the public debate over the future Why the Church calls Catholics to enter public service as elected officers  How you can recognize politics as a dirty game, yet not adopt its corrupt assumptions and traditions Why Tanya Granic Allen sees signs of great hope for the future of Canada, with Muslims, Christians, and unbelievers holding to the same basic ideals for an open and democratic Canada   Resources mentioned in this episode “I've been slandered.
