After Charlie Kaufman utilized one of Eva H.D.'s poems in his 2020 feature "I'm Thinking of Ending Things," the pair hit it off. While Eva had never worked in film before, Kaufman had likewise never directed another writer's work before. Nevertheless, the pair were kindred spirits, and set off to continue working together, and made their first short film together, "Jackals and Fireflies" in 2023. Now, they're back with another short film making the film festival rounds, "How To Shoot a Ghost." Set in Athens, the short follows two recently deceased people, played by Jessie Buckley and Josef Akiki, as they wander around the city, experiencing the afterlife. Viņam tika izvirzītas apsūdzības divpadsmit punktos, tai skaitā saistībā ar bērnu pornogrāfijas izplatīšanu, narkotiku tirdzniecību, naudas atmazgāšanu, būtiskas informācijas noklusēšanu izmeklēšanai un citām noziedzīgām darbībām. Lietas būtiskais iemesls ir platformas Telegram saturs, kas ir teju nekontrolēts un varas iestādēm nepieejams un tādējādi, pēc apsūdzības domām, padara Pāvelu Durovu līdzvainīgu noziedzīgās darbībās, kurām platforma tiek izmantota. Pāvels Durovs dzimis 1984. gadā toreizējā Ļeņingradā, filoloģijas profesora, senās Romas vēstures un literatūras pētnieka Valērija Durova ģimenē. Sākās viņa dzīves otrais posms ar jauno, vēl grandiozāko projektu – vairākplatformu ziņapmaiņas sistēmu Telegram. Tāpat kā VKontakte gadījumā Pāvels uzņēmās organizatoriskās struktūras vadītāja lomu. Sistēmas darbības centrs atrodas Dubaijā, Apvienotajos Arābu Emirātos, un kopš 2021. gada Pāvels Durovs ir šīs Persijas līča valsts pavalstnieks, kā arī Francijas pilsonis. Pirms trīs gadiem, 2021. gada augustā, ziņapmaiņas programmatūras Telegram lejupielāžu skaits pārsniedza miljardu, aktīvo lietotāju daudzums, ja ticam paša Pāvela Durova publiskotajam, pirms mēneša bija apmēram 950 miljoni. Lielākā „telegramistu” kopiena ir Indijā, tāpat to plaši lieto Krievijā, Irānā, Ukrainā un citur. Kā lielāko Telegram priekšrocību min tās hibrīdo raksturu – platforma lieti der ne vien lietotāju saziņai, bet arī dažāda multimediāla satura publiskošanai. Sistēmas līdzautors un vadītājs Pāvels Durovs to allaž pozicionējis kā tādu, kuras lietotāji var droši paļauties – viņu informācija nenonāks nevienas trešās personas, tai skaitā varasiestāžu, rokās. No vienas puses, Krievijā un Irānā Telegram tiešām kalpo kā vārda brīvības kanāls. No otras – tikpat netraucēti tur līdz šim savu saturu varējuši izplatīt visu sugu politiskie radikāļi un citi margināļi, ieroču un narkotiku tirgotāji, bērnu pornogrāfijas izplatītāji un citu noziedzīgu nodarbju piekopēji. Lielā skaitā tur ganās arī Kremļa propagandisti, un, kā apgalvo daudzi novērotāji, ziņapmaiņas sistēmu iemanījušies izmantot arī krievu militāristi, ar tās palīdzību saņemot izlūkošanas ziņas un pat koriģējot artilērijas un raķešu triecienus. Vai par to visu var padarīt atbildīgu platformas radītāju un īpašnieku? Sniedzot atbildi uz šo jautājumu, Durova lieta nenoliedzami kļūs par nozīmīgu juridisku precedentu. Kā, komentējot situāciju izdevumā Politico [politiko], norāda nīderlandiešu žurnāliste Eva Hārtoga, Durovs varot rēķināties ar diviem faktoriem savā labā.
