She combines her 23 years' experience mentoring and being mentored in the recovery field with her career in marketing, film, media, TV, advertising, real estate and customer service (and a passion for fashion) to be a trusted source for solutions to what is getting between you and the life you want. She offers two paths to progress. One is her unique LifeStyle Statement sessions, in which women uncover their personal themes which are distilled into a one-of-a-kind Statement which can then be taken to every area of their life from wardrobe to relationships to their business to their career and their home. The other are her “pressure relief” mini-intensives where the focus is on moving closer to your vision through exploring and tackling personal and marketing issues which are keeping you stuck, whether clarifying your website's message to your clients, looking at how you spend your time and money, decluttering (mental and physical), dressing as who you want to be, assessing the first impression your media and home office make on your ideal clients and creating action plans to get you the life you want. When she's not doing this, she's interviewing women entrepreneurs on her podcast Conversations About Closets With My Closet 1000 Friends, about what they do, why and what they love about it, with one or two questions in there about clothing (there's that passion for fashion!). For some people, loving relationships seem impossible. Our culture has given us many lies about love and intimacy, like the idea that we should be able to find our soulmate or that true love is easy. Unfortunately, many of us also suffer from complex PTSD due to relational trauma and have not seen or been a part of a healthy, secure relationship. So, has your past trauma made you incapable of having a healthy relationship? What if you've been abused so severely in childhood or adolescence or adulthood that you wonder if you can trust other people again? In this podcast episode (final one for Season 4), Ameé speaks with Dr. Frank Anderson, a psychiatrist and brain-based psychotherapist about an innovative way to work with complex PTSD from abuse called Internal Family Systems. This therapy helps heal relational trauma by addressing the parts of yourself who have been hurt and haven't healed yet. By identifying these parts and listening to their stories, they can begin to let go of old wounds and learn new ways of being in relationships without re-experiencing past traumas.Resources:https://www.frankandersonmd.com/https://catalog.pesi.com/item/transcending-trauma-preorder-80361Amazon Link: Transcending Trauma: Healing Complex PTSD with Internal Family SystemsLinks to buy The Fearless Woman's Guide to Starting a BusinessAmazon (Audio, Print, Kindle Versions): https://amzn.to/3daO7nABarnes and Noble- https://bit.ly/FearlessWomansGuideBookshop- https://bit.ly/FearlessWomanBookshopVisit https://www.ameequiriconi.com/ for more articles about self-help, healing from trauma, leadership, business, and more!
Are you a boundary violator? If we are not aware of our own boundaries and how we violate them, then it's very easy to be unaware that we're violating other people's boundaries. We may think that what we're doing is helpful or even beneficial for the person whose boundary has been violated but in reality, it can cause more harm than good. In this episode, Ameé talks with professional coach Audrey Holst about raising our self-awareness around whether we unintentionally and regularly violate other people's personal boundaries. Do we do things because we think we know better? Do we invalidate other people's decisions because we don't understand them? Are we really trying to help others or are still just trying to take away our own discomfort? And if so, why do these things matter anyway - especially when someone else doesn't seem bothered by whatever it is that you've done! Businesses can be effective, profitable, AND feminist–all at the same time. It's true! If you want to smash the patriarchy and, instead, opt-in to feminist business practices, this episode is for you! Building a business, as a feminist, means that you get to create your own economic destiny built on principles that you think are fair, humanistic, and sustainable. Some examples include*: Build and grow a business based on your personal and political values Wholeheartedly believe in community over competition and strive to lift others while you climb Understand that you are not your business and it does NOT define your worth Honor your intuition and refer to it as your most trusted business advisor Create your own definition of success that isn't tied to productivity or the number of zeros in your income, it's instead based on your happiness and life goals (*These examples all come from The Feminist Agenda by Rachel Wynn) Are you ready to smash the patriarchy with us?! Our incredible panel today includes: 1) Through her work in the fields of psychology and self-improvement, Amée Quiriconi brings a thought-provoking harmony of practical strategies together with the underlying drives that affect women and their business success. She helps women disrupt their internalized patriarchy so they can scale successful businesses that support themselves and their communities without burning out. 3) Rachel Wynn is a multi-passionate creative entrepreneur and founder of both Starlight Social, a digital marketing company, and Feminist Founder, where she coaches feminist entrepreneurs on the topics of setting and maintaining client boundaries, the importance of delegation, invisible labor in the home, and much more! She currently lives in a co-op near Malcolm X Park with her partner, David, and dog-child Rufus on unceded Piscataway native land in Washington, DC. What you'll learn in this episode: What the word feminist means in 2021 The difference between emotional labor and invisible labor, and how this impacts women How to ensure the division of household labor is equitable between you and your partner Why rest is an act of defiance against the patriarchy How conscious capitalism and feminism can co-exist Practical tips on how to build a team in an equitable, inclusive way Subscribe and Review Thanks so much for joining me this week. How many of you out there have ever had to deal with a co-worker or boss who has said things to you that have made you doubt yourself and wonder if you're not going a little crazy because they are pretty convinced that the “real world” is very different from the one you are seeing or experiencing. For example, are they charming with everyone else, but controlling and demeaning towards you? Or do you have a co-worker constantly taking credit for your hard work? Do you have a boss who never admits their mistakes and puts blame on everyone else around them?
