You have two options in response to fear: Fight or flight. Are you doing things in faith? Or are you leaning into your fear? Are you going to cower when you find opposition? Or are you going to push through that opposition because you know that when there is opposition and pressure, there is something that’s trying to break through. It is another WAC Wednesday and another episode of the WAC Hoops Digest podcast. On this episode, Inland Sports Show Senior Writer Derryl Trujillo discusses the culture and success that both the California Baptist men and women are experiencing.Rick Croy won his 300th game on Friday Dec. 4 against SE Louisiana. Croy is only 43 years old so it makes reaching this feat all the more impressive. It's about finding the right players and players that buy into the culture of hard work and competitiveness in order to have success at CBU. Jarod Olsen has had great success as the women's head coach. In seven-plus seasons, Olsen has won 174 games and currently has CBU at 5-0 to start the 2020-21 season. The Lady Lancers entered the Collegeinsider.com mid-major Top-25 polls this week. It's all about culture, according to Trujillo. Both coaches find and develop players that fit their program rather than simply going out and signing the best players. Both coaches want the best players but if they won't be a good fit, then they probably won't end up in Riverside at California Baptist. Development is another characteristic of both teams. This is a little more apparent on the women's side. Trujillo discusses this and talks about players that have been in the program all four years. Ty Rowell and Tre Armstrong are among these players on the men's team. And preseason WAC Player of the Year Ane Olaeta is among these players on the women's side. It's all about culture for the California Baptist basketball teams. Follow us on Twitter at @wachoopsdigest and go to our Facebook page and give it a like. We will be bringing you all kinds of content all throughout the 2020-21 season. Thanks for listening everyone and have a great day.

Thirty years ago this Friday – Dec. 20, 1989 – the U.S. invaded Panama. The main objective was to capture the Panamanian dictator, General Manuel Noriega, who was wanted in the U.S. for drug trafficking. The invasion also restored democracy in Panama. What's less known is that the effort in Washington to oust Noriega started in Miami, at what was then Dadeland Bank. The bank was owned by Panamanian exiles — and the man who connected them to Congress in the 1980s was a board member: Miami attorney Sylvan “Sonny” Holtzman.

Danny Gonzalez is 8 years old. For most of his life he has been fighting stage 3 Acute Lymph-mo-blastic Leukemia. This has been going on since he was 1 years old. He has been in and out of the hospital and getting chemotherapy every day for 6 1/2 years. As of September the 9th, he has had his last day of chemotherapy. So this is going to be the first time in a long while he gets to spend his holidays at home. So since he is out, he wants to care for the other kids and friends that he knows that will still be in the hospital during the holidays. A whole lot of them still have treatments and everything that goes along with that. So it is a real bummer. Imagine being a kid stuck in the hospital during the times kids are usually super excited for Christmas and all that. So Danny is trying to raise money to get his buddies some presents. And he wants to give those out with his good friend Batman. He knows what its like. His family really benefitted from others helping them out.
