We are very proud of the number of guests that we have had on the show over the years.  A big name in the sport of obstacle course racing that we hadn't gotten around to yet was Garfield Griffiths though! With the news of him no longer being a race director over at Spartan Race, effectively ending his 12 year old career of race directing for brands such as Battlefrog, Savage Race, OCRWC, and Spartan itself, we figured that it would be a good time to reach out and have him on! This week we going hybrid and are giving some love to the Deka World Championships in Texas that happened last weekend! In the year where there are two OCRWCs I figured it would be great to hear from someone who went to compete in both of them! Admittedly, we were unsure how the first FISO OCR Championships would go after their history of not being able to put on a world championship event for years.  That being said the number of incredible athletes that showed up to Belgium to compete made this an incredible World Championship event! When looking through the results Gian Maria Savani stood out as both the winner of the short course, runner up of the standard course, and an athlete that we didn't know as much about.  We reached out to have him on the show to hear more about him and were thrilled to have him as this week's guest! Spartan Race had their Kids World Championship in the Bahamas this year but there didn't seem to be much talk about it.  Athletes regardless of their age work hard to do what they do so we reached out to one of the winners of the weekend! A couple weeks ago we mentioned it on quick news but since James Golisano is a good friend of the show we figured we would have him on to talk about his Go Fund Me.  This isn't something we do often but we figured that it'd be a good way and try to help! James opened up Monadnock Ninja back in 2020 and helped form a local community of youth ninjas.  With very little notice he was told that the building that he had been renting was going to be sold so him and his equiptment don't really have anywhere to go. Last weekend was massive for the sport of OCR in Europe!  There was both Spartan European Championship as well as OCR European Championships.  We followed the latter more closely and were excited to find a guest to come on the show and talk about it. Jesse de Heer finished first for the short course, second on the standard course, and his team Hang On placed first for the men's relay race!  Having a pretty excellent finish in all events we figured that he would be a great guest to have on the show to talk about their events! Annie Dube was frequently found on the podium in some pretty big events, and is still a member of the OCR Dream Team.  Unfortunately with Spartan Race drastically changing the format of their series we have been robbed from seeing her and many other athletes compete lately.
