Life can throw so much at us—unexpected challenges, significant transitions, and the everyday pressures in our personal and professional lives. Recently, I experienced overwhelming emotions when my family received nearly 50 boxes of items from our house that survived a fire. We've also been navigating the stress of selling a home, living in a hotel, and buying a new home in a new state. Needless to say, it's been overwhelming! So today, let's chat about Overcoming Overwhelm!  In this episode, I specifically chat through the stories of biblical figures who faced overwhelming situations, including practical steps for navigating overwhelm in your life. Here's a sneak peek into what I share:Moses: Learn how Moses dealt with the immense burden of leading the Israelites and how God provided support to help him carry the load.Elijah: Discover how Elijah found rest and spiritual reassurance after a major victory left him feeling vulnerable and overwhelmed.Job: Reflect on Job's experience of profound loss and suffering, and how his trust in God's wisdom brought him solace.Ruth: Understand how Ruth navigated the uncertainty of widowhood and a foreign land, and how her faithfulness led to new beginnings. Friends, feeling overwhelmed is a natural part of the human experience, but you don't have to face it alone. By leaning into Jesus and taking practical, intentional steps, you can navigate life's challenges with resilience and hope. You are not alone, and together, with God, we can overcome overwhelm! Reflection QuestionsAre you carrying burdens alone that could be shared? Who in your life can you trust to help you carry these responsibilities? When was the last time you truly rested and took care of your physical and spiritual needs? How can you create space for rest and renewal in your busy schedule? In moments of deep overwhelm and pain, how do you find the strength to trust in God's plan? Can you recall a time when trusting God brought you peace, even without understanding the situation? How can you cultivate unwavering faithfulness in your life, like Ruth did, even when you're facing uncertainty and overwhelm? What steps can you take to actively trust in God's provision and timing?Episode Takeaways"Just as God provided Moses with seventy elders, we can seek out our own support systems to share our burdens.""Taking care of our physical and spiritual needs can help us navigate overwhelming times, just as God provided Elijah with food, rest, and gentle reassurance.""Like Job, we can find solace in trusting God's wisdom, even when circumstances are confusing or painful.""Ruth's unwavering faithfulness and hard work were honored by God, showing us the importance of staying committed to His path.""Feeling overwhelmed is a natural part of the human experience, but you don't have to face it alone—lean into Jesus for resilience and hope."Connect with Jen:Connect with Jen:Website: https://drjenbennett.com/#BeWorthFollowing Book: http://amzn.to/2H4gn9mInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/drjenbennett/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/drjenbennett/Dr. Jen Bennett, Associate Professor at IWU, empowers future leaders in business entrepreneurship. Friends, today I'm compelled to share a message that the Lord has continued to press upon me over the past year. This message centers around Jeremiah 29:7, which states, “But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.” It's a verse and message that I can't get out of my mind, and today, I want to share with you what the Lord has impressed upon me: Seeking the Welfare of the City.  Some of the main points I dive into include:The Call to Seek the Welfare of the City: Jeremiah 29:7 reminds us of the importance of loving and serving our communities.Answering the call to Marion, Indiana: My personal story of answering the call to move to Marion, Indiana, and the initial emotional challenges faced.Motivation to Work for the City: We are called not to withdraw from our cities and communities but to actively pursue their well-being. Our own welfare is intertwined with the well-being of the city where God has placed us.Ways You Can Begin to Seek the Welfare of Your City: I share some practical, actionable ways you can begin seeking the welfare of your city: Pray, Learn, Enjoy, Open, Engage, and Be. Friends, our faith calls us to actively engage with and enhance the places where we live and work. Whether you are called to a thriving metropolis or a struggling community, the message remains the same: seek the welfare of the city where God has placed you. Through prayer, continuous learning, embracing community life, opening your doors to others, active engagement, and being a good neighbor, you can live out your faith and make a meaningful impact. Fully embrace the call to seek the welfare of your city, for in doing so, you will also find your own welfare.Connect with Jen:Website: https://drjenbennett.com/ #BeWorthFollowing Book: http://amzn.to/2H4gn9mInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/drjenbennett/ LinkedIn:  https://www.linkedin.com/in/drjenbennett/Dr. Jen Bennett is a passionate educator with over two decades of experience. Welcome to a new episode of the She Impacts Culture podcast! I'm excited you're here with me today because I have an important message to share. It's all about being Placed For A Purpose.  In this episode, we'll explore the story of Joseph in the Bible, who faced many challenging situations but eventually realized that he was placed for a purpose in his work. Many Christian women in various job roles today need encouragement and guidance, especially when they encounter discouragement or criticism. It's disheartening to see fellow sisters in faith divided over differing opinions on women's work roles, with some suggesting women should only stay at home while others label working women as feminists. However, I want to emphasize that God calls each of us to different paths. I hope that today, you will be encouraged and reminded that there's a purpose for you wherever you are in your journey.  I specifically discuss: How God has placed you where you are for a reason, even if it doesn't match your original expectations. The importance of standing firm in your faith and values, even when you face challenging situations at work. The idea that you are on a path toward leadership and should strive for excellence even when circumstances are challenging. Understanding that just like Joseph, God is with you and will help you succeed, even when it might not seem that way. Friends, in closing, I want to leave you with this encouragement: You have been placed for a purpose. No earlier than August 17, NASA and SpaceX intend to launch Crew-7 to the International Space Station from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Upon their arrival, Crew-6 will hand off the scientific experiments aboard the ISS and prepare for their own return to Earth. As we prepare for the transition, the Carolina Weather Group and James Brierton visits the special behind-the-scenes tour of the Kennedy Space Center from earlier this year: Learn what it takes to get astronauts into space, and how the current science aboard the International Space Station help prepare us for life aboard Artemis, the Moon, and eventually on toward Mars. Go inside the vehicle assembly building, also known as the VAB, where NASA is preparing for the Artemis missions to the Moon. Plus, climb aboard the crawler vehicle, which has been used to carry Apollo, space shuttle, and Artemis' space launch system to the historic launch complex 39B. A look inside NASA Kennedy's aviation hanger shows you the helicopters used for television broadcasts, medical transports, and security missions around the Cape. Go inside the plant lab where botanists are creating gardens that astronauts will use to grow their own food and nutrition for future missions to the moon and Mars. James and his fellow NASA Social participants interview real-life NASA astronauts and the director of Kennedy Space Center. Go off the tour path and go inside the forgotten office of Wernher von Braun, the German-American aerospace engineer who left behind Hitler's Nazi party after World War II to help the United States Air Force (now the Space Force) and later NASA develop the first rockets for space and missile defensives during the Cold War. Then join James and the Carolina Weather Group's Jared Smith for the countdown to launch as four astronauts - two from the United States, one from the United Arab Emirates, and one from Russia - launch to the International Space Center to begin their six-month stay for the Crew-6 mission.

NASA is holding a special briefing and Q&A session for NASA Social participants, including our own James Brierton, at 4:30 ET. NASA's SpaceX Crew-6 mission is the sixth crew rotation mission with SpaceX to the space station, and the seventh flight of Dragon with humans aboard. The mission is targeted to launch no earlier than 1:45 a.m. EST Monday, Feb. 27, on SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft – named Endeavour – atop the company's Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy. Mission operations teams will be closely monitoring the weather leading up to liftoff. After docking, the Crew-6 crewmates will be welcomed inside the station by the seven-member crew of Expedition 68. Following a handover on the space station with Crew-6, NASA's SpaceX Crew-5 crew members will undock from the space station. The NASA SpaceX trip comes at the same time Russia prepares to launch a passengerless Soyuz MS-23 crew ship at 7:24 p.m. EST Thursday from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on a two-day trek to the space station. Besides delivering provisions for the crew, the Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft will return NASA astronaut Frank Rubio and cosmonauts Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitri Petelin back to Earth later this year. Those three men are awaiting a new spacecraft because their previous craft, Soyuz MS-22, suffered a depressurization issue that made it not idle for human spaceflight back to Earth. Zac discussed his path into space from a distant interest to a full blown lifestyle after experiencing his first rocket launch (like myself) at the NASA Social event in December 2019 for the SpaceX CRS-19 launch. He attended the State of NASA social, met Administrator Jim Bridenstein, saw the SLS Core Stage on the test stand, and then watched CRS-20 and Starlink 6 launch in person. - I think he's got the space-bug!  Zac and I could have talked about space for another 2 or three hours, and we will be talking again around the May 27 Crew Launch from Kennedy Space Center. Welcome to our segment called 'People of Science' where we breakdown the common misconception of what someone in 'science' is like. This time we're going into science-fiction, which plays a MAJOR role in telling the story of science to the masses. It's also a huge factor in why so many people get into science. I know it was for me... This week it was an honor to have Mick from theSceneSnobs.com on the show to discuss his passion for space and science fiction. We talked about his origins on what got him into podcasting, and of course we dove DEEP into sci-fi classics like Star Trek, Star Wars, and our thoughts on the new 'Picard' series that just wrapped up Season 1. FYI there are a lot of spoilers in the second half of this episode, but it was a great talk and I hope you enjoy! In life we make connections with people (more so in a life without pandemic) and I am very happy that I met Mary the Mommy on the NASAsocial trip for CRS-19. Which also lead to me meeting and talking to Mick. While quarantine and coronavirus lockdown is upon us - make the most of it! We're taking our own advice/medicine here on the podcast. And I'm very glad I did. Look forward to more of these while (at the moment) we will be in quarantine for the entirety of April. It may not be face to face, but its human connection.

That ANYONE can be into space, no matter your background or interest in space. If you are even a little but intrigued by the infinite expanse of space or seeing an insanely powerful rocket launch off the Earth and into space - there's a place for you! And I highly recommend finding your way to the Space Coast or another launch site to see one for yourself. Sign up for alert for NASA Social to apply to get access to do so in the future! All you need is a social media account! 2. Your first rocket launch in person will knock your socks off. Everyone, including myself, that saw their first launch was basically speechless afterwards. There is so much about a rocket launch that you can't even grasp without feeling it. The slow increasing rumble of the rockets that crescendoes to a loud roar, shaking everything around you. The intense brightness of the rocket flames as they push the rocket out of gravity's influence and into space, which is NEVER shown in its true view in video or pictures. If you ever go to see a rocket launch in person for the first time - please reach out and let me know if you felt anything like this afterwards.  A big thank you to NASA Social for selecting me for this opportunity. It was mind bending and now I'm hooked and can't wait to do another in the future.  Huge thanks to everyone who jumped on the podcast and shared their reactions! On this episode, which I have recorded for a third time, covers the latest on SpaceX's Starship testing as well as some news on the costs of the Commercial Crew Program for NASA's options on sending humans into space again, without the aid of Russia and their Soyuz capsule (which costs $87 million per Astronaut).  I also talk about my thoughts on WHY SpaceX is so disruptive in the Space Industry and how they make it possible to be immune to the ever-changing winds of government funding and political parties in charge.  I have recorded this multiple times because so much happened on the same day of recording, we just had to scrap it and start over. With Thanksgiving coming up next week, we've got a longer episode to help tide you over until December, when I will be in Florida capturing the CRS-19 mission for SpaceX thanks to the NASAsocial program. Enjoy your holiday America! Stay safe everyone - we'll see you in December! If you'd like to learn more about the history of the Space Program get these two books! I've read both and highly recommend them. Welcome to episode three of the Main Entrance Cast. Our co-host Katie is on vacation so Teknikipedia goes solo in the studio. But, we still have amazing content to bring you! We are excited to introduce a whole new segment. The "Side Door" will bring you interviews from listeners just like you!. We're starting with an amazing interview, Libby Champion, creator of the Hid In Parks Instagram feed and participant in the NASA Social program! Even though she's not at her regular microphone, direct from her vacation trip, Katie (and her hubby) provide us with a review of the all-new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland in California! News (1:35): Nick talks about a circus in Germany that is making waves by using holographic animals in the place of real animal performers. Could this be a step in the right direction toward a higher level of morality for circuses, zoos, and marine parks? Attraction Review (6:36): Katie and her husband, Duncan, bring us a review of the new Galaxy's Edge land at Disneyland in California. Hear about their experiences and thoughts on the new Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run attraction, the shops and restaurants at the land, and of course, the food! Interview (33:23): As part of our commitment to bring listeners into the Main Entrance Cast family, we had the amazing opportunity to speak with Libby Champion, creator of the Hid_In_Parks feed on Instagram. In this feed, Libby shows off the details that make our beloved parks and resorts so great. Head on over to Hid_In_Parks now to learn something new that will blow your mind. Big thanks to Libby for the great interview! Also, as part of this, we hope to create a whole new segment of the show that can bridge the gaps between our regular episodes. Stay tuned to learn more as we get this new endeavor rolling! Trivia & Wrap Up (1:11:54): Last Episode's Trivia Question: In this episode, we mentioned that George Lucas collaborated with Disney on Captain EO, Star Tours, and the Indiana Jones attractions. But there was another attraction that he helped develop that is no longer with us. What was that attraction? Last Episode's Trivia Answer: The Extra-Terrorestrial Alien Encounter This Episode's Trivia Question: In this episode, we talked about hidden details in theme parks. Disney, in particular, uses a very special type of hidden detail to honor individuals who made significant contributions to their theme parks. In what form do these honorariums take? If you think you know the answer, drop us a line in the GOAFerbox at connect@mainentrance cast.com. Also, we’re excited to announce that the Main Entrance Cast is coming to Amazon Alexa on Monday, June 17. The Main Entrance Cast Thought of the Day can be added to your daily flash briefing through the Alexa skill store. The Thought of the Day will feature bits of trivia, news, musings, and other random thoughts to start your day. New updates will come out every weekday! Thanks for listening, now Go Out and Fun!

On this episode of Talking Space, we cover the successful launch of the Falcon 9 carrying the Dragon capsule on the 1st commercial operational resupply mission to the ISS. All appeared to go well with the exception of an engine anomaly about 79 seconds into flight. Listen to find out what it is. We then get into a lengthy discussion of "traditional media" versus social media, which came about after NASA allowed NASA Social participants equal access to events and interviews as the press for launch. One panelist is not too happy about this. As an update, after the recording date, Dragon was successfully berthed to the station on Wednesday, October 10th. We want to hear your opinion on the idea of NASA Social participants getting the same access as media! Send us your thoughts as a text or .mp3 file to mailbag@talkingspaceonline.com.
