Colossians 2:6 is the perfect text to show us that the modern-day evangelist's altar call, inviting us to "receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior" is actually quite blasphemous! Fitz Cahall is the creator of the legendary outdoor podcast The Dirtbag Diaries, co-founder of the creative agency Duct Tape Then Beer, and author of the excellent book States of Adventure. But most recently, he's gone from prolific creative mind to public lands advocate with the launch of Save Public Lands, a campaign that gives public land lovers of all stripes, from climbers to hunters, a way to go on the offense against the ongoing attacks on our public lands. The goal is a million signatures on a short letter with three clear demands: no more sell-offs, no more giveaways to foreign companies and billionaires, and no more backroom deals. Those signatures get delivered to DC and statehouses around Public Lands Day on September 26th. Fitz got his start in the mid-2000s scraping by as a freelance journalist, a job he refers to as "naked subsistence hunting." The need for covering for sin goes back as far as Adam and Eve, where an animal had to be slain to cover them.  The book of Leviticus spells out that the only atonement for sin is through sacrifice and the spilling of blood.  Each of the sacrifices was a type that pointed to Christ.  When Christ fulfilled the law with His sacrificial death and His Resurrection, the need for blood to be spilled stopped.  Those who do not look to Christ for redemption cannot be cleansed by good deeds or ceremonies, because there is no salvation apart from Christ.  Those who do look to Him in faith have an eternal inheritance. Ah ha! The music only is Thursday. Thank you for that.  I'll ignore what arrives early and capture the tunes on Thursday. I work with words and the talk version interrupts my train of thought. I usually edit the show in my audio editor and take out the songs with singers.   I like that music but i cant work with singing… Over time I mash up a dozen of your shows, (instrumental music only and then let that run for hours.
