September 28, 2026 - Season 17, Episode 28 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers' 30-27 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday to move to 2-1 on the season. Alex and I discuss the team's perceived health coming out of its third regular-season game in addition to going over the seven players who were inactive for that contest, one of which was once again CB Joey Porter Jr. The trade chatter surrounding Porter Jr. continued to pick up over the weekend so Alex and I go over the possibility of him being jettisoned to another team before Thursday night. The Steelers made several roster moves on Saturday with one of those being rookie OG Gennings Dunker being placed on the Reserve/Injured list. We also discuss the two elevations from the practice squad the team made on Saturday in addition to RB Travis Homer being signed to the 53-man roster. The Steelers offense really looked great against the Bengals, so we start on that side of the football as part of our game recap. We discuss OG Brock Hoffman and OT Max Iheanachor starting against the Bengals on the right side and how both players performed really well. RB Jaylen Warren had a fantastic game on Sunday as did QB Aaron Rodgers. We discuss the effectiveness of the running game against the Bengals and especially when using 12 personnel. The Steelers schemed up several great plays on Sunday with three of those resulting in touchdowns. As great as the offense played on Sunday, Alex and I discuss a few other plays that could have been made in the win. While the Steelers certainly played well enough defensively on Sunday to win, they still allowed the Bengals' offense to move quite easily throughout the game. Even so, we discuss how the defense got big plays from DT Cameron Heyward and DT Derrick Harmon in the fourth quarter to help secure a key AFC North victory. We talk about several snap counts players on the defense registered on Sunday against the Bengals and how the zone-heavy plan on that side of the football only yielded four explosive plays of 20 yards or longer. The Steelers' special teams play against the Bengals was just good enough on Sunday. Alex and I discuss the good, bad and ugly from Sunday's game when it comes to that phase of the team. Can Steelers now move forward and avoid a letdown Thursday night when they play the Cleveland Browns on the road? We discuss how important it is for such a thing to not happen after such a huge win on Sunday against the Bengals. Alex and I discuss the team's perceived health coming out of their second regular-season game in addition to going over the seven players who were inactive for that contest, one of which was once again CB Joey Porter Jr. The Steelers offense really looked pitiful on Sunday against the Patriots, so we start on that side of the football as part of our game recap. We discuss WR DK Metcalf and his drops, the lack of explosive plays on Sunday, and the running game remaining flat overall through two games. Will the Steelers trim down their offensive playbook moving into Week 3? Should there be any personnel changes on the offensive line this coming week? Alex and I attempt to answer those two questions and several more concerning the offense as we move along in this show. The play of rookie WR Germie Bernard was perhaps the most positive thing we saw offensively for the Steelers on Sunday, so we make sure to give him a few props during this show. We also discuss OG Spencer Anderson as perhaps being the weakest link on the Steelers offensive line through the first two games of the 2026 regular season. Alex and I also discuss the lack of mobility that Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers is showing and how that certainly isn't helping the offense. While the Steelers defense certainly played well enough on Sunday for the team to win, the unit still allowed six explosive plays to the Patriots. We discuss a few of those big plays allowed on Sunday and a few other key plays made on defense against the Patriots. The Steelers special teams play against the Patriots certainly wasn't why the team lost on Sunday, but that phase of the team certainly didn't do anything to help produce more points on the scoreboard. We go over the good and bad from those units against the Patriots. Once we are done breaking down the Steelers' loss to the Patriots, Alex and I discuss the latest reports concerning Porter. We go over what Tracy Wolfson had to say about Porter ahead of Sunday's game and whether this week will be a watershed moment for the team when it comes to them possibly drawing a line in the sand with him. Would Porter's side have a good grievance case should the Steelers attempt to claim that Porter's conduct is detrimental to the team? Should they just ask Porter on Wednesday if he's going to play in Week 3 and go from there? We attempt to answer those few questions concerning Porter. September 14, 2026 - Season 17, Episode 22 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers beating the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday to open their 2026 regular season. Alex and I discuss the team's perceived health coming out of their first regular season game in addition to going over the six players that were inactive for that contest, one of which was CB Joey Porter Jr. As we get into recapping the Steelers' win over the Falcons, we start by talking quite a bit about the play of the team's defense. We go over the amazing play of OLB T.J. Watt on Sunday in addition to discussing several snap counts on that side of the football. Several defensive players had strong showings against the Falcons on Sunday, so we make sure to note each one. We also discuss how poorly Falcons QB Cooper Rush played on Sunday and how most of Atlanta's success on offense came via RB Bijan Robinson. After thoroughly breaking down several aspects of Pittsburgh's defensive play from Sunday, Alex and I then do the same for the offense. We note how QB Aaron Rodgers pushed the football down the field with more regularity and how a key third down passing play to TE Darnell Washington effectively secured a win. We talk about the running game and how it came alive late in the game. When we're finished talking about several things related to the offense, Alex and I move on to break down Pittsburgh's play on special teams against the Falcons. Once we are done breaking down the Steelers Sunday win against the Falcons, Alex and I discuss the team being unable to sign Porter to a contract extension prior to the game getting underway. We discuss what the immediate future might be when it comes to Porter and that includes us discussing the possibility that he could ultimately wind up being traded by this year's deadline. August 28, 2026 - Season 17, Episode 15 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the preseason finale that the Pittsburgh Steelers played Thursday night against the Buffalo Bills. We go over several players sitting out the preseason finale in addition to giving our initial overviews and main takeaways from that road loss to the Bills. The Steelers restructured the contract of WR DK Metcalf since our last show, so Alex and I go over the details related to that transaction. We also discuss how the Metcalf restructure is any sort of guarantee that the team will soon sign CB Joey Porter Jr. to a contract extension and why that is. Steelers HC Mike McCarthy gave us a few things to talk about during his Thursday night postgame press conference, so Alex and I pick over those replies. We obviously focus in on what McCarthy said Thursday night about the possibility of all four quarterbacks ultimately making the 53-man roster come Sunday night. Could the apparent head injury that QB Will Howard sustained Thursday night lead to him being placed on the Reserve/Injured list to start the season? We go over the plausibility of that happening and whether we think it ultimately will. Are DT Sebastian Joseph-Day and S Jaquan Brisker each a candidate to start the regular season on the Reserve/Injured list? We entertain that question during this show as well. As usual, Alex and I give our initial thoughts on the play of several Steelers players in the team's preseason loss to the Bills. We start with the quarterback play Thursday night of Howard and Drew Allar and go from there. We discuss all of the offensive position groups and that includes discussing the play of rookie OT Max Iheanachor against the Bills. Has he given himself a chance at being the Week 1 starting right tackle? We attempt to answer that question. Alex and I also go over the play of several players on the defensive side of the football from Thursday night. We go over a few roster spot battles on defense. We also make sure to talk about some special teams play from Thursday night and we make sure to highlight the punt return for a touchdown by Kaden Wetjen as part of that discussion. The Steelers will need to set their initial 53-man roster by Sunday night so ahead of that happening, Alex and I give previews of what are final predictions will look like. We discuss how several final roster spots could go in various directions and especially if any players go to the Reserve/Injured list that could put a fly in the prediction ointment. August 22, 2026 - Season 17, Episode 12 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Saturday morning show, Ross McCorkle sits in for Alex Kozora and we start things off by talking loosely about the Pittsburgh Steelers preseason loss to the New York Jets Friday night. Ross and I go over the long list of players that sat out the Steelers second preseason game and why. Ross and I then start getting into our deeper dive of Pittsburgh's shutout loss to the Jets on Friday night and we begin with going over the play of the offensive line and the positional rotations that we both observed. We discuss how Dylan Cook now appears to be the easy choice to be Steelers Week 1 starting right tackle on the heels of have poor Broderick Jones played against the Jets. Obviously, Ross and I don't wait too long to get to the play of the two quarterbacks Friday night, Will Howard and Drew Allar. We go over the two costly interceptions that Howard threw against the Jets and how WR Roman Wilson certainly seemed to play a role in both of them. As part of us discussing those two interceptions, Ross and I go over what HC Mike McCarthy and Howard each had to say about those two turnovers during their respective postgame press conferences. Ross and I also make sure to discuss the play of Allar during the second half of the Friday night game and how one big play that he made really stood out. Are the Steelers now guaranteed to keep all four quarterbacks on their 53-man roster at this point? Will the Steelers allow Allar to start the preseason finale against the Buffalo Bills?
